Closing For Christmas

My card making Craft Room is officially closed for Christmas, I made a couple of DT cards and made the decision since I was suffering from Sinusitis and got so stressed over last minute Christmas cards, I needed a break.
I finally finished my Not so Ugly Sweater Cal which I enjoyed receiving a part of the pattern each week till it was finished and unfortunately mine finished on the small size. Had to add some more candy stripes and another cross stitch band. I also personalised it with the year.

It was all made with Stylecraft Special DK on a 3 1/2 hook, the colours are Lincoln, Cypress, Lipstick and Cream.

Below are the cards I made and was disappointed in, don't worry they didn't go in the bin I had no choice but to send them.

I wanted to use the glitter card to see how the snowman looked, he turned out fine but I do wish the card wasn't so plain.

Another card I felt I cheated on but the two snowflake die from Simon says Stamp that was release this year worked better together than using a large one already in your collection. You can see in the example below thank goodness you never can have enough snowflakes.

I don't particularly like the yellow star a nice white one would've have been better but I had already made the star bauble and I couldn't afford to bin it.

I made the one above months ago and then I saw that a Christmas Card Class had made one similar so even though I made it weeks before the class I felt it wasn't my idea especially as theirs was better than mine. I cut out a circle mask to blend the colour in so it lacked spontaneous colour.

I felt I cheated here using it the same dies with penguins and then using a snowflake die.

If I don't get onto the PC I want to wish everyone a

 Happy Christmas
and
Merry New Year.

If you don't celebrate Christmas I hope you get time to spend with your families.

Some lovely makes there, the snowman is so cute just needed a little addition like the Santa below. Agree re the yellow star but the rest are really lovely. Merry Christmas, wishing you a happier and healthier 2019.

You did extremely well with all these cards Debby. Your snowman and Santa are really fun, and I love the simplicity of your snowflakes and they look great as part of the sentiment too. I cheated a lot with mine this year and used a lot of upcycled bits from previously received cards because I ran out of time. I love your beautiful blanket which is really intricate and the extra rows you added reakly look as though they were meant to be there. I hope your sinusitis is better soon and wishing you a very Happy Christmas and am looking forward to seeing lots more of your wonderful creations during the coming year. x

I rarely comment but just had to after reading how you felt about your cards. I loved them - especially that strip of red & white striped paper on the edge of the first cards. I plan on using that idea on some of my future cards. Simple and elegant is my style😊. Thank you for the inspiration because I think they’re great!
