The Design Team is looking forward to seeing your crafty makes and will pop around to visit you ASAP!

I was either on FB, Pinterest or Instagram and saw that someone had used a die that was made to make hills etc to make a wavy border and I loved that something could be used in a different way. Something so simple I should of caught years ago.

So I've used Simon says Stamp Stitched Slopes and Hills dies to do just that, makes a simple card look different. My little polarid snaps are from Clearly Besotted Picture Perfect. The papers are Lawn Fawn Spring Fling and the sentiment is a Simon says Stamp stamp set called Thoughtful Messages stamped with a white pigment inkpad and white embossing powder.

Lets be honest if its cute you want you can find plenty in my craft room, I can remember when I first started cards, if you made a cute card serious card makers were horrified. Thankfully not today.

Once I got over which cute Clearly Besotted stamp to use I decided Rainy Day Play and you can see the new Mary Poppins film as influenced me since I my hippos are falling from the sky. Using Simon says Stamp Stitched Rectangle for my main image mat I inked the edges to give a impression of the sky and grass.

Usually when I colour I also chose my patterned papers this time I didn't and rather than spend ages to find one to match I made my own. I cut 1cm strips of some scraps of red, blue and yellow and stuck then onto thin card, cut down so the Simon says Stamp Scallop Frame from their Frames set to fit on top.

All that was left was to add a sentiment since I wanted a Birthday one and since the Simon says Stamp I'ts no Secret is fairly new to me I used one from that set.

This was one of the last cards I made before I went on my hols which I've now discovered that while I was away all the Clearly Besotted Perfect Pigs were sold and are now out of stock.

But to be honest you can make a similar card with any animal stamp that fits the Tim Holtz Crazy Things santa hats stamps.

I paper pieced my piggys using a sheet of Doodlebug Hello 6 inch pad, each piggy was stamped twice so I could layer heads or bodies.

To make the actual card I used Simon says Stamp Bundle of Shapes and their Stitched Squares.  My sentiment is the Simon says stamp Believe stamp and die and to finish with a snowflake using Simon says Stamps Stitched Snowflakes.

The tiny dot in the centre is using the waste from the Tim Holtz Gearhead die, in fact I use them regularly for flower centres too.

I love these cute Clearly Besotted You're So Tweet birds, I even brought them before I knew about the challenge.

First of I had to make a card for them, so first used Oxides where i made my grass, sky and sun background. I then cut out the Simon Say Stamp Birch Column twice, one I put to one side while the other was smooched into some Brown Oxides stamped onto a craft mat and misted with a bit of water. I then blended a bit of the lighter brown to cover up all bits of white left. Added a bit of green using a copic and fussy cut the trees away so I could stick them onto the one put to one side.

Once the background was stick behind the trees I then used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles die. It did struggle with so many layers but a little trim with a sharp pair of scissors did the trick.

It was at this point things started to go wrong, I was in two minds which blue inkpad to use and went with the Island Blue because I thought it would show up more. It was at this point I got out the the You're So Tweet die set and using some wire gutters I cut the spokes when one went flying into what I thought was my junk draw ( it isn't now I had to tidy it up) but it has disappeared somewhere in my craft room.

It was once I stuck the birds down that I'm now wondering whether I should have stamped them in turquoise and now I've just noticed that I haven't coloured their beaks. I blame me age!!!!!!!

Light Pink Rose

It Holiday Tuesday here in the UK and I've no idea where I am. I could be at my Sisters or Hubby may have dropped me off home but just in case I've scheduled this post.

In November I had to make a very special sympathy card, I was so worried that I would get glue everywhere but it turned out perfect.

The rose is a Clearly Besotted and I chose the light pink because a website said it was for sympathy. I have no idea of where the sentiment came from but the stitched rectangle is Simon Says Stamp.

I know that this New Year's Eve when I hear the bagpipes ring in the new year I shall be raising a glass to an absent friend.x

Making a gift card is not something I do often and having brought the Clearly Besotted Cheeky Monkey stamp set for this challenge I had to work out how to use them for this challenge.

In the end I decided my cheeky monkey should hold the gift card and since they are hanging they would need a tree to hang from. I used the Memory Box Birch Tree and their Woodland Branch dies. I then had to work out what to use to stop my gift card falling out of the monkey's arms and thats where the My Favourite Things Grassy Fields die came in. I stuck the three strip together and then use a thin bit of tape ad the bottom leave a bit of a pocket for the gift card.

The patterned paper is Echo Park I Love Family  and I used one the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Ovals to help bring your eye to the centre. I only put glue under the monkey bottoms so that the gift card can slide into place whilst doing this I got glue on the white oval so I used the Simon Says Stamp Mini Flowers die which had little leaves just right to hide a little mess.

Unfortunately my Clearly Besotted Merci Beaucoup stamp is out of stock at the moment although the die set is.

Normally I would fussy cut the main image but I was thinking of placing the flower on patterned paper and a white border would help the rose stand out which is why I have the matching dies. At the time of making the card I changed my mind.

I used the large rectangle die from Simon Says Stamp Bundle of Stitched Shapes to place my rose on to and added a bit of Doodlebug Pot O' Gold paper since this was a green challenge.

The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp Its Your Birthday stamp set which lives permanently on my desk along with Birthday Messages.

To finish I added the Memory Box Alphabet Soup letters to read Mum, I did layer that twice to help stand the word out of the white.

Merry Kissmass

I fancied the sentiment in the Clearly Besotted Merry Kissmas set and I knew I wouldn't be able cut out the mistletoe so I got the dies has well.

I followed the sketch from a couple of weeks ago on Splitcoast Stampers SC561 but decided to emboss the white mat but I still haven't found my Falling snow embossing folder so I used the Simon Says Stamp Falling Snow stencil. I did remember to stamp the sentiment before embossing.

Instead of struggling to find paper to match the green I used the Simon say Stamps Diagonal Stripes background stamp, I did use a misti so I could get good coverage.

Clearly Christmas

I found this in my drafts which is just has well I have only DT work photographed, I do have other cards but they are waiting for some glossy accents to dry before adding some Flower Soft/ Fun Flock mixture.

This card I made simply because I got my hands on the Clearly Besotted Christmas sentiment and Memory Box stitched Holly had arrived in my craftroom.

Add the Simon Says Stamp Bundle of Stitched Shapes for my main mat and the job is done. Only wish fun foam came in a decent red but the only ones I can find have a touch of pink.

I had a great day on Saturday and there's a lovely group of ladies who make cards, I'm tempted to steal some of their ideas there was some lovely Christmas cards going on there. But crop days are Scrapbooking days in my book but I think I will have to take Hubby's Birthday book still need to finish even though I made four pages 8 by 8 layouts.

Cup of Tea Part Two

Like I said last week I stamped and die cut several cups and used nearly all of them, these are the last two.
I found the cloud paper but can't remember the pad but I used Simon says Stamps Bundle of Shapes, cut out using the large die and cut across to where I wanted the it to finish with the Stitched Strip that came with the set. The finished card shows three blue teacups so that was the reason I didn't have any blue ones left.

I saw a sketch on Pinterest with the two strips both of which are from Doodlbug Sunkissed and added the cups and sentiment. This was the first card I made with the cups and saucers and it spurred me on to make the others.

I would imagine you feed up with me moaning that I'm under the weather, I know I am and since I don't see things changing soon. I'm going to try and not mention it anymore and I will have to accept I can't blog every day when I feel pants.
Most of the problem is the travelling to MIL since we are now going nearly every month so it will mean it will take several days to get over it and its time I just accept it for what it is. So no more moaning and I will be a good blog hopper one day again.

Cup of tea

Anything Goes challenge does leave you open with what to do, in the end I decided to use the Clearly Besotted Warm Solutions, I also had the matching dies, so to start I stamped the cups in a few colours and using the die cut them out.
I now had a pile of cups and made four cards, two of which I blogging today. My first one is using the Splitcoast Stampers SC559 sketch. To start with I used the Simon Says Stamps Bundle of Shapes die and then cut out the circle using the Simon Says Stamps Stitched Circles. I made my red cup straight and made the others haphazard along side it. Used the sentiment that came with the stamps job done.

This was actually the last card I made and had these cups left, I could of done with a blue cup but I used them all on another card, but I kinda like the bright cards I made with them.
This time I used the large Scallop die from Avery Elle Sweet Scallops set and I cut my white mat to fit. This time I used Doodlebug Sunkissed paper pack and using the Simon Says Stitched Oval made my dotty frame and I used the die to make the mat in the centre. The fish tail banner for the sentiment I made by cutting free hand. I cut into the cups so that they slotted into each other. The cups and sentiment is using the same as the first card.
I promise to show the two other cards soon.

So now it's YOUR turn.  Happy Crafting

Tulips

This is a lonely card in my drafts mainly because I'm not keen on it the finished result but I knew there was nothing anything really wrong with it that I could justify popping it in the bin. I was experimenting with watercolours but I'm a bit of cheapskate and I don't have any watercolour paper so I was limited to what I could do.
The papers are left over bit of Simple Stories and the frame is the Stitched Rectangles from Simon Says Stamp. My tulips are Clearly Besotted.
I'm not a happy bunny I thought my snuffly nose was due to the Air Con at the hotel but no its a cold and I thought it was getting better but Oh No I have now developed a cough. Coughs are bad for people with neck and shoulder problems.
Do have some good news my brother is a lot better and is hoping to come home from hospital soon, but on the other hand my Aunt Hilda has passed away. She was married to one of my Mum's twin brothers and was the last of that generation. Has I informed my sister yesterday we are the older generation now.
Enough waffling and moaning, fingers crossed I get  to make at least one card today in between the barking dog noises coming from me.
