Pineapple

I'm a bit disappointed in my card I used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles and Rectangles and then I used their Stitched Banners to cut the background down. My problem is the line where I laid the background on top on the side of the banner I didn't use.

The reason I made the card in the first place was that I had stamped the pineapples from Wplus9 Citrus Background when I was in thinking stage of my SSSWchallenge card this week and I couldn't not use them.

I used the Sunshine die again from Simon Says Stamp along with their Thoughtful Messages for my wishes. The tiny flowers are Simon says Stamp Mini Flowers and Leaves  my centres are made with Simply White Crystal Drops from Tonic.

Oh and before I forget the papers are Lawn Fawn Really Rainbow.

Coffee anyone

I have some female cards to make for July and I wanted a more grown up image which is why I chosen Coffee from Mo Manning.

The papers are Echo Park Wedding Bliss and that includes the plain pink paper too. I carefully cut round the image trying to leave a little white border to help pop from the white polka dot paper.

The sentiment banner is made with Simon Says Stamp Stitched Banners and Paper Smooches Salutations stamp set. To finish some white flowers from my second hand die set and the dots in their centres I used Tim Holtz Gearhead thinlets set they actually the waste from the gears.

It's been a busy week but I've earmarked Saturday for a craft day in my room meanwhile I shall try and get some colouring done in preparation.

I stamped the main image stamp from the Wplus9 Citrus Background with Simon Says Stamp Orange Slush inkpad and using Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles, I centred the image before cutting out.

I then stamped them a few times, the orange ones were done with but I coloured the lemons by using watercoloured pencils in the centre and watered brushed the colours to edge. Once dried I used the pencil for the rind. Not forgetting I fussy cut each orange and lemon so I could emboss the back a little so the edges are rounded and not flat.

Now when a die arrives in my craftroom it needs to be set to work and thats why I decided to use the new Simon Says Stamp Sunshine die and I thought it was perfect for the oranges and lemons. Just needed to finish the sentiment of by using Simon Says Stamp Thoughtful Messages which had a single small wishes on.

We went to London yesterday when we initially planned it, we wasn't expecting one of the hottest days of the year. It sent the trains doolally, decided to catch a train to Woking just as well we did, heavens know when we would have got home. Still didn't stop us enjoying our day out.

Pretty in Pink

A crafty parcel arrived in my craftroom recently and inside was the Simon Says Stamp Spring Flower Burst. I took a liking to the solid small flowers and dots and made a stamped background.

At this point I wasn't sure what to do with it and decided to used the Simon Says Stamp Wonky Rectangles to help the background look finished.

It was while I was hunting for something that I realised these fabulous Simon Says Stamp Stitching Butterflies haven't been used that often and since I love butterflies it was only right to use them. I cut them twice one in matching card stock.

I do prefer the Simon Says Stamp Adeline Butterfly die's body and I cut them out in black. Finally I used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Banners with the Simon says Stamp Messages for Everday
I made the sentiment in black as this seems to be fashionable these days.

Relax

I keep forgetting to post my Scrapbooking and I'm still have the family fun day ones to post. The first one are the grown ups using the rope swing which I think was put up for the children! Still using the same collection, I have done for all the family day layouts and I have plenty of scraps to make a few more if needed.

The fabulous die that I used was my friends so I don't know who makes it.

I love this pic of my DD I know it looks fussy but that because of my photography skills of photographing the layout. All details are from the collections and the title are some real old letters.

I have two layouts from the last crop that needs some finishing touches, which I may do today.

Tall Card

This stamp from Simon Says Stamp Beautiful Flowers was in the June Kit, the stamp is available separately but is Out of Stock at the mo, I'm sure it will be back soon.

I know if I layered the image which I love doing it would take a while to make and at the moment my energy levels are quite low. Still I wanted to have a go and blew the dust of my Derwent Inktense pencils and decided to use them to watercolour. This was the way I used to colour in my early days of cardmaking some 18years ago. I used the lines on the image to colour and then used a damp paintbrush to drag the colour across each petal and leaf.

I think it turned out not too bad, possibly I could have used less colour on the flowers but its been years since I used this technique.

I used Simon Says Stamp Thoughtful Message with some gold embossing powder for the stamped sentiment and used Newton Nook Essential Alphabet for my letters. My Mum used to love anything sparkly so I added some sequins to catch the light. Finally a Uniball White pen to dot the stamens inside the flowers.

Cheers

Yet another Man's card needed, he's actually named Dwarf 6 in Mo's shop but he does remind me of a Viking.

The papers are Dragon's Tail by Doodlebug and I blew the dust of my Spellbinder Circle dies for the image and the sentiment is cut from the actually pattern paper.

The only embellishment I used was the Simon Says Stamp Cheers die, the papers are so busy and there wasn't much space, plus its a man's card and we all know how tricky they are.

I had this idea for a card using Hero Arts Welcome Neighbor, it didn't quite turn out as it looked inside my head but it did turn out well.

First of all I cheated I couldn't be asked to mask and stamp usually it goes wrong when I'm nearly done so instead I stamped all the different house, colour in using Prismacolors and then fussy cut all of them. It was easy to fussy cut since they were basically simple straight lines but if you prefer there are dies.

I then layered them to where it was pleasing to the eye and no white spaces in between. Once I was happy I stuck then down and used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles. The sentiment and clouds are all from the Hero Arts stamp set and just a bit of coloured card to finish off.

Good Vibes Exclusive Release

There's a new release just check the above photo link.

Bee's Knees

I had taken out all the stamps that I thought would be a suitable for a mans card and I saw the Bee on Simon Says Stamp Encouraging Animals. I stamped several bees so I could cut out just the bodies as well bodies with wings and embossed the back before 3d them.

I also decided to use Repeating Circles it was a quick way to give somewhere the bees to go. The patterned paper is Lawn Fawn Really Rainbow and I used a Simon says Stamp Stitched Rectangles but only used to frame my circles.

I used the sentiment on the stamp set and a Simon Says Stamp Stitched Banner. Finally I used the Simon Says Stamp Happy Birthday die, like the style of the words.

Not much card making going on this week I have hospital, doctors appointment and Hubby as appointment too. We have Friday Swimmers lunch on Friday so thats something to look forward too.

Birthday Wine

I brought this Simon Says Stamp Wine Aerobics and dies I don't think I used well the dies especially as I had to cut them apart. But don't you just love the corks, kicking myself for not using them more often now.

I used the two of the Corkscrews for the background, once dried I used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles. I also stamped and cut out the corks and I used the Simon Says Stamp Time for Wine glass and die which I coloured in red.

Trying to work out what stamp I used for the sentiment, I know it was sitting on my desk, got it. It was Simon Says Stamp Big Birthday Wishes and I used their Stitched Banner dies to make my fish tail banner.

I'm now thinking of making one in pink!

Fabulous

I have a long list of family birthdays to make, I just need the motivation and mojo to make them. Some of the cards are going to easier than others like this one I've made for a young girl.

The image is called Fabulous from Mo Manning, I added some glossy accents to the glasses to make them realistic and my white pen was working well to add the dots.

The papers are some old Doodlebug ones and I used the MFT Scallop Frames and the Hero Arts Border die. My sentiment from a set called Birthday Message from Simon says Stamp and I used a square punch to make the fishtail.

The flowers are a second hand die which I still haven't discovered who made them.

I made this card a couple of weeks ago, I think the time as come for me to write down what I used when I make the card.

Now lets see what I used a Blue Oxide Background to start with, that's easy I also make several and keep them to one side till I need one. I'm guessing I've used Salty Ocean, Faded Jeans and possibly Broken China but I'm wondering if it was Mermaid Lagoon.

I cut the Memory Box Cheery Flower Collage in white card, then Green Apple card and some Doll Pink card. A few snip and I have stem and leaves and some pink flowe heads. The centres are made with Simon Says Stamp Stitched Snowflakes and the white centres when I cut out the main image, they fell out but managed to save them.

I wondered if the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circle would cut frame round the flowers but you can see if made a nice double frame instead. I also used the Simon Says Stamp Bundle of Shapes frame to give a nice stitched border.

I used my favourite sentiment stamps at the moment Simon Says Stamp Thoughtful Messages. I had always planned to use Simon Says Stamp Flickering Butterflies but the tiny one by the y of Birthday is hiding a dirty mark. Most rubbed off with a clean eraser except one stubborn dot and my tiny butterfly hides it.

Lost in Time

There's one thing I can do when feeling sea sick or feeling unwell I can still crochet. This is the Lost in Time Shawl that I've made on my holiday. A large ball of Scheepjes Whirl doesn't take up too much room in the suitcase. I just had to finish the last two rows of the pattern and the border at home. Now I have get some nice baubles to make the tassels.

I'm now back onto my Eastern Jewels Persian Tiles blanket, I have four more Hexagons to do them I'm onto the squares. Although there is a hic-cup in my planning there's a baby due in the family I have found the pattern I want to use and my hubby is happy to know I have enough wool to make it.

He's Still Got It

June is definitely a man's month and I have a few cards to be made this month. I decided to use Mo's He's Still Got It. Believe or not the patterned paper is Christmas paper, I did check whether I liked what was on the the other side before using.

The sketch I used is a Splitcoast Stampers SC699 I just turned it to suit my image. The musical note are an old MFT die which is so old its probably retired. The sentiment is Simon Says Stamp Happy Birthday die, I didn't use the Happy part but stamped Wishes from Simon says Stamp Thoughtful Messages.

My fishtail banner is made using a square punch, you only use one of the corners.

I'm off to the Scrap Cafe Crop this weekend, I missed last months so look forward to catching up and maybe do some scrapbooking or I may do some colouring for card making haven't decided yet. Its at the Bracknell Hilton and its not really just for scrapbooking some of us card make too.

It's been real tricky getting back into card making after my hols and still struggling a bit. I had to get my DT cards done and Mr Mojo is still sailing somewhere over the Med.

I decided to make my own patterned Vellum that part was easy, the Impression Obession Rosebuds was stamped randomly with Versamark and then embossed with WOW Bright White Opagne powder. The hard part was trying to tearing it, perhaps it would help if I had my eye open, hate tearing paper. I purposely made my piece of stamped vellum larger because I made a fold and attached it to the back of the card. I carefully place a piece of tape behind some of the stems to attached to the card too.

I used the Simon Says Stamp Painted Congrats die but I've noticed its out of stock for now but there's no reason why you can't use their Congrats. I used Kraft card and White card for my actual card and to hide all the blank space I used Simon Says Stamp Flickering Butterflies but I would be quick before they are out of stock.
