I've been looking forward to this challenge, I love Penny Black some might say I collect their stamps as a  hobby! Don't really need a excuse to buy a Penny Black stamp but I did anyway and brought this cute fairy called Beautiful Day.

I use the Splitcoast Sketch SC758 but cheated for the background by using stripy paper from the Echo Park Hello Baby It's a Girl.

I used the my favourite Stitched Rectangles from Simon says Stamp and add to that the Stitched Daisies to make a large daisy to match the one my fairy is holding.

To finish I used Simon says Stamp Tiny Words and Nuvo Shimmer Pen  added to the wings although my camera didn't pick it up.

Do you use Instagram ?  If so please add  #ssswchallenge to your challenge entry uploads so we can see them on there too.

Cosmo

I think this is probably my favourite card using the Simon Says Stamp Cosmo Stem. By cutting the two colours I was able to switch the centres.

I cut out the squares using Simon says Stamp Stitched Squares and make some matching mats for each one.

The sentiment was using Simon says Stamp Celebrate die along with the Tiny Words Birthday.

So it's really a quick and simple card to make.

A couple of layouts

Couple of layouts hiding in my drafts, both of my Gt Nephew. The both using some old papers.

Leftover Scraps

I had these scrap left over from a couple of Christmas cards so I decided to attached them to a piece of paper then cut a mat size and added red mat behind to make a border. It then stayed in my craft room while I decided what to do with it.

Not sure when I coloured this clear PB stamp but he was just waiting to be made into a card. I used a stitched circle die and slightly large die for the red edge. I colour over all the dots and use a white pen to make the white dots.

Sentiment is using Simon says Stamp Tiny Words Christmas and handmade fishtail banner.

Thankful the hot weather as gone and we are back to normal summer weather (its raining).

White Cosmo Stems

There's a new release at Simon says Stamp called  Believe in You and they very kindly sent me the Cosmo Stem Die, don't be surprised if you see this die lots of times in the future.

I used the Simon says Stamp Quilted Hearts Background stamp and used their Frames dies for my background.

I drew round the sentiment  Frame die to give a slightly larger frame so the thin outline could show up. Finally I used Thoughtful Messages to finish.

Ragged Snowflakes

Another Christmas card using a Mo Manning image called Snowflakes, I think this image makes my card look quite elegant.

I used up some old Christmas paper, possibly was LOTV.  My favourite poinsettia from Simon say Stamp Poinsettia Parade and the stars are from Memory Box.

Its pretty warm here in the UK I don't know how people manage these temperatures every summer.

Back to School!

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge
Thank you for joining us last week and we hope you will all join us again this week too.
This week the challenge is Back to School
We are showcasing Simon says Stamp this week, which just so happens to be Simon says Stamp Brand of the Month. You don’t have to use them to join in but if you have some we would love to see them used.
The lovely folks over at Simon Says Stamp are generously giving away a FABULOUS $50 voucher to shop at the  Simon Says Stamp Store! All you have to do is take out your crafty supplies, make something following this week’s prompt, and add a link in the Inlinkz at the challenge Blog. My background was a bit of accident, I used Simon Says Stamp Rounded Small Alphabet then smooched some Oxides but it miss the background behind the letters but I actually liked it, thought it was a bit quirky.

I paper pieced the School Bus Messages, but coloured the lights and mirrors. Left the school sign white and stamped the sentiment from Tiny Words stamp set.

Now I couldn't leave the bus with no driver so I added Picture Book Labrador which I added some dots and and a black ear to make a Dalmation. Didn't want to leave him on his own so I added a Picture Book Cat with some stripes to make him a ginger cat.

Believe in You Sneak Peek

Only one more sleep (that if you can get any in a hot UK at the moment) and the release from Simon says Stamp opens.

A Moment in Time

I saw a layout similar to this so I really scraplifted it, which is just as well. I only scrap pieces of the paper.

I've used a fabulous photo shoot photo of my Gt Nephew, he is so grown up now.

Although you can see it the stars are stitched ones from My Favourite Things, the dots are from a stamp with scrap paper masking so I don't get the whole stamp of dots.

The letters are from Hobbycraft and the hearts were already cut out in the perfect colour from a previous project.

More Backgrounds

I have used the fabulous Simon says Stamp Amazing stamp set which I stamped onto the Oxides background and I also used Simon says Stamp Clear Embossing powder on top of the stamped circles. But I missed a circle  when I heated and since I forgot to spray water I did that and the ink ran making a happy mistake so I added a bit of the dark blue.to the background.

Last one still practising with Resist Spray but at least I sprayed it outside rather than my than on my desk! Using Simon says Stamp Celebrate and their Tiny Words Birthday.

Space Journey

I did mention more background cards, this time I used Simon says Stamp Stitched Rectangles but used two of the dies and backed the middle one with white.

I had some green background to make my planets using Simon says Stamp Space Journey. I did have a bit of a hiccup which is hidden under my sentiment banner but we will keep that between ourselves. The actually sentiment is Simon says Stamp Tiny Words Birthday.

Merry Christmouse

And another Christmas card for the pile, this time I used Merry Christmouse from Mo Manning. Using up some old Christmas papers I also used the left over to make a background but it needs something on it to make a proper Christmas card.

I found a really old Christmas Tree die which is a blue one with no holes to pop it out so I think it needs replacing so I will looking out for one.

The sentiment is Lily of Valley and the Stitched Circle is from Simon says Stamp.

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge
Thank you for joining us last week and we hope you will all join us again this week too.
This week the challenge is Make a Background
We are showcasing Tim Holtz this week, which just so happens to be Simon says Stamp Brand of the Month. You don’t have to use them to join in but if you have some we would love to see them used

I've learnt two things making my background, first I need more practice to use Tim Holtz Distress Resist Spray, definitely a bit heavy handed.

Second I actually had more fun and better results with Watercolour Cardstock obviously been a bit of cheapskate doesn't work. The background was made with the smooching technique with Oxides.

I used Tim Holtz Wildflowers stems 1 and you know I love making white flowers. My sentiment was made with Simon says Stamp Amazing stamps and using Tim Holtz Crochet Thinlets to edge the border.

Did I mention what fun I had that does mean I made more backgrounds so watch out for some more cards.

Circular Piggy

A couple of weeks ago I coloured up some My Favourite Thing Piggy Pebbles its only now I got the time to turn them into card.

My First one is placing the cute piggy in the Simon says Stamp Birthday Circle die and I used their Nested Circles to make the outer circle mat.

It seemed only right to make a cupcake since it came with the Birthday circle, using  Echo Park Happy Birthday.

Nearly forgot Simon says Stamp Stitched Rectangle that I used for the main background.

Off out today planning to stop off somewhere for a bit lunch too, hope the weather stays dry and we can dine Al Fresco.

The Big 50

Two years later I get round to making a couple faux pocket pages, I had loads of photos mainly of people I didn't really know so I stuck with the special ones.

The fabulous three tier cake was made by my amazing niece and tasted yummy. My other amazing niece manage to arrange the party and even though Neil is a brilliant bbq chef she got someone in so he would have time with all his guests.

Winter Fox

There's a new challenge on  Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge for Anything Goes with an optional theme of Christmas. I was feeling a bit guilty not making any Christmas cards so I printed a few ready to colour.

I coloured Mo's Winter Fox simply because he was easy to do and although he doesn't know it he's coloured in mouse colours but we keep that between ourselves.

I also used this weeks Sketch Saturday Sketch but I used the leaves and a poinsettia instead of a little tag. I want to say the papers are Doodlebug but they are papers I have cut down from 12inch ones so not sure if they are or not but they're very old.

The leaves are Memory Box Birch Leaves and the Poinsettia which are in fact my favourites are Simon says Stamp Poinsettia Parade.

Do check out Mo's shop she has added some new fun Christmas images.

Numbers and Butterflies

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge
Thank you for joining us last week and we hope you will all join us again this week too.
This week the challenge is Add a Number
We are showcasing Yours Next Stamp this week. You don’t have to use them to join in but if you have some we would love to see them used
The lovely folks over at Simon Says Stamp are generously giving away a FABULOUS $50 voucher to shop at the  Simon Says Stamp Store! All you have to do is take out your crafty supplies, make something following this week’s prompt, and add a link in the Inlinkz at the challenge Blog. First I made my background by using Spellbinders Happy Birthday numbers and sticking them randomly but making sure the number you want to use is readable, in my case the 40. I used different colours for the number you want to stand out.

The Spread Your Wings butterflies were coloured with copics to match the pattern paper from Doodlebug Hoppy Easter.

To make my sentiment I used Tiny Words Birthday along with the stamp set Uplifting Thoughts by masking the other words so  only Today remained.

My Favourite Things Penguins

I'm not sure on these two cards, I think I need to stamp the MFT sweet Holiday Penguins again and have another go. In the first one I've used Doodlebug Christmas Town maybe the papers are two busy and the cute penguin doesn't stand out.

The second I used all white with some snowflakes from Simon says Stamps Christmas Cheer. The slopes and hills are also from Simon says Stamp which I used for inside the Stitched Circles die.

Naps and High Five

I had coloured this cute little elephant and he needed to be turned into a card. He is a Lily of the Valley digi image with his ballon paper pieced with a scrap of card.

The cute sentiment is a My Favourite Things one. I'm thinking possible I used have backed the image mat with match paper of the balloon. Too late now.

I'm of to a crop this morning and few scrapbooking pages to be done.

July Crochet Update

It may not have been such a good idea to start two Crochet Alongs roughly at the same time they are now quite big and takes the week to finish each part in time for next part.

It means that the Life Inspired Crochet Alongs is being put on hold which is a shame but hope I will catch up soon. My daughter's stool as also been put on hold.

Hubby isn't too impress with Crochet Alongs since my corner is in a bit of mess. And its now all my wool the rest is hiding in a cupboard.

By the time the two existing CAL finish Helen Shrimpton starts one on her blog. Already chosen my colours and the ordered the wool.

I did blog that I had finished the Seaside Winter Blanket from Zooty Owl but it was hidden in a card post.
