Guest for A Spoonful

Look I've torn the paper on this layout and it worked, the sketch I was following had one piece torn which I decide would look odd if there wasn't something else torn. This is the puppy I used on the other layout last month couldn't believe it when my niece said he still had growing to do. The papers are Crate Paper and the tree is from a cricut cartridge Graphically Speaking.

I was over the moon when Shary e-mailed and ask for me to be a Guest Designer on Spoonful of Sugar especially when she said it was a sketch from the brilliant Lim. When I saw the sketch it said boy card to me so I choose My Minds Eye papers and I turned the sketch so my flowers would fit better and I've used a Home Grown Boy from Funky kits and the letters are Papermania foam ones.

Had a bit of pants day yesterday, so fingers crossed for a better day today

Spring Penny Black

Phew I thought that I wouldn't be able to post today, after moaning at Sis about her really slow PC yesterday, mine this morning has given me nothing but a headache but I think its OK now.

I had a fabulous day at MJ crop on Saturday just need to tweak the layouts I did and on Sunday Jake was happy to let me colour images in providing a sang nursery rhymes and let him watch Barney a very odd looking purple dinosaur but after the numerous repeats of the programme I was ready to do something really nasty to him, the dinosaur not Jake.

So while the PC was trying to do something to sort itself out, I put this card together, the image was already layered so I just had to put it together although the paper I coloured the image to match was too large a pattern and didn't work so I used those fab paper from My Minds Eye. Punched flowers and the Martha Stewart punch to bring it all together, hopefully it looks spring like for the challenge on Penny Black Saturday Challenge and although I've brought some similar stamps this one is another 50p from the sale at Christmas.

It's a Party

Some more Design work for Simon Says Stamps, I've tried to vary the cute elephants, this one is using Basic Grey and paper piece-ing, the sentiments come from the same set.

Isnt' he cute, I've used some scraps of my Bo Bunny papers and coloured him to match.

Wasn't sure what to do with the stripy elephant till I started randomly stamped them on a scrap of paper and realised what a brilliant background they make, I've made a small topper so you can see the background papers, the sentiment is also from the same set.

Now if you would like to get hold of some of Simon Says Stamps you can cos there's a new Blog Challenge in town and they giving away some candy. Check it out here

Catch a Butterfly

Hopefully Mr Blogger loves me and posts this for me, no time Saturday Morning Hubby drops me of at Sis at the crack of dawn. He not too happy about almost taking the whole of my craft room with us but you never know what you might need. Back to the card this is using the fabulous sketch at Friday Sketchers by Claudia, afraid I'm not sure of the papers but the cute image is a Sugar Nellie designed by Elizabeth Bell, the sentiment is from Butterfly Kisses who had a stall at the Make it show and the flower is Poppicrafts.

I had quite a dramatic time with an order of some Penny Blacks from the USA that went astray but I have to say the wonderful Dick kept in contact the whole way through and because one digit was wrong on the address the parcel found itself back on Dick's doorstep. Sorry but how long would it take to look up in local phone book to realise where we live, I do it all the time when I get the wrong mail. Bless him Dick sent it straight back and it arrived yesterday and the smile hasn't left my face yet. Might even have to have another look on his website for some more.

Froggy Friday

The challenge over at the Cute Card Thursday is a card for a family member and the only celebration coming up is my BIL's Birthday and I was going to give him one of those frog cards I made a while ago but I did buy this frog from Alota stamps with him in mind. I've used My Minds Eye paper and the stars were on die cut sheet that came with the kit and the corners were made out of a tag on the same sheet. I may have gone a bit OTT on the doodling especially as I can only dot and dash.

Off to MJ all day crop tomorrow and I'm going better organised so I must sort out my pics and papers today and it looks like I'm staying overnight at Sis while the boys work late so I need to take my pencils etc to do some colouring if my Gt Nephew lets me, apparently he maybe coming up on Sunday.

WOJ Thursday

Looking at all the green on this card I could have used it for last week challenge on WOJ but I've use the fabulous sketch from Donalda on this weeks WOJ challenge. Yes I think maybe they're are the new WOJ stamps but I've clipped her wings which is probably why she got the hump and the kitten is looking quite put out too cos I've used the colours I use for PB mice! I've also used the WOJ chair which I paper pieced with the Bo Bunny papers.

Look more awards this time from Karen, thank you.

And this award is from Jo which I would like to return to everyone who takes the time to comment on my blog, I really love receiving them.

A Spoonful of Easter

I'm so pleased how this turned out that I had to post it, its using the fabulous sketch from Dawn on Papertake Weekly and A Spoonful of Sugar as a Easter themed challenge. I've used the gorgeous papers from My Minds Eye and a cute stamp from Penny Black.

Off to play with my WOJ stamps.

Spring Rudolph Day

Today is Rudolph day and what could be better then a few penquins, Heidi from SimonSaysStamps sent me this clear stamp set and I've been waitting till today to show them. My first one is a snowglobe cut out using the Cricut, it was the Christmas cheer cartridge. The papers are Pebbles.

Love the cool dude penquin and the great sentiment, again I've used Pebbles paper and I've put some glossy accents on his glasses.
This penquin is skating on some glossy accents with glitter throw in to make it sparkly, I've also run the penquin through the cuttlebug to give him a dotty tummy and cut out the outline to put over the top to make it look neater. I love those Pebbles paper its just perfect for all my penquins.

When I saw the stamps this type of slider card came imediately to mind not sure why because I've never done on before. Its called a penny slider but in this case its called a 5p slider because a penny was too big and the snowflake swirls came with the stamp set too.Just to prove it does slide although this penquin looks like he's slipped on a bit of ice.

I've nicknamed this penquin Dame Edna because of her big specs which are nice shiny with glossy accents, annoyed with the ribbon its white in RL not dirty looking white.

Sorry to scare you with Christmas cards but it just has to be done.

Dots and Dashes Penny Black

I've decided out of all the Penny Black animals I love the mice best, having worked out how to colour them, I'm quite pleased how they turn out. This little chap is for the Penny Black Saturday challenge of doodling and when it comes to doodling I can only just about managed dots and dashes. The papers are scraps of Chatterbox, punched flowers and a cuddly buddly sentiment.

Sugar Nellie Monday

Isn't she cute, this is another of new Sugar Nellie's by Elizabeth Bell, I just knew when I saw her skirts that I needed this stamp. I've used her with this weeks Sketch Saturday although when I saw the sketch I wasn't that keen but its worked out a treat. I've used BG Porcelain and because I didn't want to use two pieces I made the green square frame so it looks like it layers. Now if you haven't join the Sketch Saturday challenge then you must because there are some fab stamps from dream2stamp to be won and you can see what I've done with the owls here.
I want to Thank Lynda and Shirley for sending this award, its so sweet of you to think of me.

Manicstamper aka Sheila has some fab blog candy, she does some fabulous cards and loves getting inky.

I had a fabulous day yesterday my niece invited myself and hubby along with my Sis and Grumpy to her place for lunch, along with her partners family, we all brought something along for lunch and we sat outside in a sun trap and enjoyed the afternoon sun watching the children and the dogs play.

Beautiful Mother's Day

So picture the scene the glue is drying and I'm off blogging discovering loads of bloggers have used the Friday Sketchers sketch and hang on a minute, they all have an extra strip of card or ribbon that my card definitely doesn't have. Off to check the challenge and yes indeed I've missed it. But seeing has I'm really pleased how this turned out and I not sure I could rectify my mistake, I still showing it. I've use Pebbles cardstock and the white flowers are from Poppicrafts.

Many thanks to Danielle for this fab award, I'm suppose to choose 5 stunning blogs but at the last count I've nearly 200 favourite blogs I'm following not sure how I'm going to choose only 5.

And this beautiful award is from Sandra and Joey both who have fabulous blog and definite need checking out if you haven't been there yet.

Zoe has a fab blog candy a beautiful set of Doodlebug items, you can check it out here.

I'm was very suspicious of my Taylor Swift album, it wasn't sealed and there is couple of tracks missing and I was right to be suspicious, DS brought it online from the US last year but as he had downloaded the cd and I had dropped the hint about it, he wasn't going to buy the UK version when I could have his used copy, well at least the DVD is new I hope.

A bit Green

Whoops I've been combining challenges again but somedays these things just happen. Challenge one is for theme colour green from Whiff of Joy, another challenge was from A Spoonful of Sugar and for gems. The last challenge is a sketch from Charisma Cardz. Of course when I photo this pic the pink is more pink and the ribbons which are brown look more black. The papers are chatterbox and I used nestabilities, I also coloured the image with prismacolours and polychromos. Yes I know I've got copics but so far I'm only happy with their faces.

So I've already received my Mother's day pressie from DS, The Duchess DVD looking forward to the fab costumes and Taylor Swift album.

Home Grown Boy

Oh dear some more unmounted rubber arrived in the post yesterday and it was all stop to put a few on some EZ mount so I could play immediately. I had to use this Home Grown Boy from Sugar Nellie he looks so like my nephew. I had to use typical boy colours and noticed the Truly Scrumptious sketch on my desk and it all fell into place with some Chatterbox papers. Whoops there suppose to be something shiny, do you think my shiny red brads count.

I've added this card since its not going to my Mum for Mother's day, I made it because when she was able she used to grown Geraniums. The trouble is its a large card and it would only look right with a sentiment but Mum loves over the top cards with as many flowers, ribbons etc you can get onto one piece of paper. So I've put a birthday sentiment on instead, which is straight so I'm not sure why hasn't photo straight. The papers are My Minds Eye.

Still have some more rubber to EZ mount, so that will keep me out of trouble today.

Duet of cards

I was checking the CPS blog for some inspiration for their latest sketch CPS107 and noticed they were using word stamps which reminded me of the fab word set I got from Butterfly Kisses so I decided to use this one and to add a butterfly its been a while since I used one, then as I was starting to choose BG papers I remembered Basic Grey challenge was for rounded corners which inspired the rest of the card. I believe the papers are Sugared but most was loose I know they're BG but it could be from another set.

So this is the card that gave me such a headache yesterday, I wanted her to have a shining Umbrella but the glossy accents wouldn't leave the bottle, only in tiny blobs so I binned it of course I probably wouldn't have if I didn't know that I had a brand new bottle. Which after I used it on the umbrella and I moved the piece of paper it was on to a safe place while it dried, it flipped over, so I then had to either repair it or do it all over again. Eventually I managed my shining umbrella but it you noticed its cracked a little that was not leaving well alone till it properly dried. Luckily the new bottle worked well and I managed my raindrops. The stamp is dream 2 stamp and I've used Sketch and Stash sketch although I turned it upside down, I could be cheeky and say the little heart gem on the flower to break the plainness was for Spoonful of Sugar challenge but I won't.

A little extra

I've just had an arguement with a bottle of glossy accents, which has ended with me throwing it in the bin and having to remake what I was doing so I thought I would do some nice instead and upload these DT cards for Simon Says Stamps. They sent me loads of fab stamps and this belongs to the Elephant set and as soon as I saw this one I immediately saw a baby card. It's only right if you do one in Pink you have to do one in Blue too.

Not sure of the papers only that I've had them for a long time and they are the only ones I have that are baby colours. The sentiments are Peel offs I don't use them often but I love the ones you can get in white or black.

Tilda and flowers

I've decided that one of the cards I made for Mother's Day that you haven't seen which I'm not happy with probably because its not that cute isn't going to be used now, so I needed one more for Jean although not our Mum we always send her a card.

Also I wanted to use these new My Minds Eye papers and because MVS challenge is for Mother's Day and this Tilda from the Spring Kit needed to be use, that means with this card all Mother's Day cards are done. I know the sentiment doesn't say Mother's day but I thought it will still work for a Mum who isn't our Mum.

Now I need to put the inserts in and get them posted today so they have plenty of time to get to their destinations.

Thanks for the offer of baggies, all sorted and have some on the way from Sandra.

Mice in Teacup

I'm not to happy with this because I coloured the cup and saucer to match some other papers and then I didn't like it so I changed the paper and now I'm not sure the colours work. I've used the very last bit of Imaginesce papers and I've used the Penny Black Saturday challenge sketch and if you've seen it you would know there was no way I was going to past up using those cute photo corners.

I'm so disappointed that I missed out on some of the Sugar Nellies, OK it was only one but it was the really cute boy with the Ice Cream so to get over it I brought most of the others!

Also can anyone help, I need a least a dozen more baggies for Create a card for Cancer, I forgot to look on Saturday, I blame the shock of going out made me forget and the local craft shop has run out and Sis has put her's in a safe place (so she'll find them sometime next year). You can e-mail me at the address on the sidebar.

Sugar Bowl

Having got the new Magnolia kit out of my system I finally made a Mother's Day for the Sugar Bowl challenge. Unfortunately I haven't got the new photo corners out of my system its more of a case have a corner, must put one there. The papers are Bo Bunny, the image is Sweet Ebony from Funky Kits, a mixture of flowers. The flowers make it quite bulky so not sure which Mother is going to get this one.

WOW wasn't the weather brilliant yesterday, it was lovely not moaning at everyone to close the back door for a change and I actually had washing on the line. Of course there are some disadvantages like doesn't the sun show up the dust and lets not even talk about the dirty windows.
