Simple Penguin

I think I made this Christmas card with the CAS(e) this Sketch in mind not sure my starry background works.

The little penguin is from MFT and the sentiment is the one from the retired set from Simon says Stamps that I love. The sentiment label die is again from MFT but I backed it with a touch of red.

Birthday Painter

I’ve made quite a few Christmas cards but I thought I’ll break it up with a Dr Digi card, he draws brilliant fun images many suitable for men’s cards.

He we have Mr Dunderton (I think that’s what he is called). I decorated my card with a MFT border that looks like dripping paint and my raindrops is actual made with some very old Quickcutz. The sentiment die is Simon says Stamp but layered twice to help it stand out.

Slimline Chilly

The latest trend in cards seem to be slimline but every stamp/die company seems to have their own ideas of what size. Here in the UK we have always made them to fit the DL envelopes so I cut my cards 10.5 cm by 20.5cm, my cards tend to be a bit lumpy so this enables the cards to fit comfortably in the envelope.

I brought some Lawn Fawn slimline dies one called Small Slimline with flaps which I haven't used and Large Slimline with Sliders. Next time I need to pay attention to what I'm buying because I can only use the smaller of the two slimline dies.

So I had a go at using Mo's Chilly which I coloured up ages ago with the colours to match some download papers I printed off. The other problem you have to split the papers simply because 6inch papers aren't long enough.

I was so pleased with this Creative Expression sentiment die I really love the Simon say Stamps retired stamp that as this saying so discovering this little beaut really made by day.

Shabby Chic

Nearly forgot to post today, so I managing to do this post on my iPad. Blogger as sort of made it easier with the new setup but it’s still as it’s moments.

July means my Mum’s birthday so I’ve tried to go shabby chic, the sketch from Splitcoast Stamper SC809 inspired that design.

The papers are Kaiser, the arch wedding is spellbinders and the flowers was in my lace trimmings box. The letters were with some old Memory Box.

The only thing missing is glitter my Mum loved a bit of glitter.

White Christmas

I saw a Instagram a white Christmas card for a CAS Christmas challenge although my card probably wouldn’t count with its busy Crafter Companion background die.

I made the circle scene with circle dies, snow-falling embossing folder and slopes and hills dies. The deer, houses and trees were left over from the Nordic die from Sizzix last year which I kept in a pot. The Martha Stewart holly punch still going strong, I cut two and cut one so I can have three leaf holly.

Sending Birthday Hugs

Here's one of the cards I made for Birthdays in July, I think I need a break now and I plan to make some Christmas cards this week. Sadly I only seemed to make cards a couple days a week now and some of the image layering takes longer than colouring the images which is why I only make a couple cards per day.

This cutie is a Lily of Valley digi and I used the MFT cloud edges die for the image mat. Not sure on the papers. The daisies are Upsy Daisy from MFT but they are quite old and my favourite.

I've not used my swirly dies for ages and come to think of it this one could MFT too. Sentiment is a Simon says Stamp one.

Loud Speaker Happy Birthday

I’m struggling with my iPad mini to do today’s post, last couple of days I have been so tired no real reason just hope it pasts.

It’s crazy that one of my nephews is 40 this week and the other week it was a niece where is the time going.

I’ve rediscovered my Dr Digi’s including this chap. I cheated with the layout of the card used one of my old cards for inspiration. Balloon dies are an old Penny Black one and paper are Doodlebug. Bakers twine is also Doodlebug. Numbers and letters die are old ones too, the live in an envelope since the plastic packaging is long gone.

Yoga

Apologies for not posting yesterday I got waylaid and it went out of my mind and then this morning it was a early morning hair appointment so didn’t have time.

I thought I’ll share my other stamping Bella yoga image but time I paper pierced her outfit. The paper is Simple Stories I think called Hello.

I’m pretty sure the background is Lawn Fawn but scallop frame is Sunny Studio. The leaves and flowers are Memory Box. Finally sentiment is an old Stamping Up one.

Quick Dinosaur Card!

I had to make a quick card for a boy card, so made the Tim Holtz Sizzix Dinosaurs with the World die also from Tim Holtz Sizzix.

All the different colours were made using Oxides, lucky the colours have worn off my hands now especially with all this extra hand washing.

A Little All Things Crafty Update

A bit of an update this Saturday Morning, first of my lastest crochet project The Climbing Rose Wrap from Crochet Inside Magazine by Janie Crow. I didn't get the kit and chosen my own colours using Stylecraft Special DK.
The Main colour is Duck Egg with Cream Cloud Blue, Pale Rose, Powder Pink, Pistaschio and Cypress. I have used less colours than Janie Crow but I think it working out quite well.
I'm on the last set of hexagons although these ones seem to come our a bit larger so hoping that when they are stitched together it will all work out.

Below is my finished Arcadia from Helen Shrimpton aka Crystals and Crochet. Made with Stylecraft Special DK. I used the right hook size but it doesn't have the same warm huggable feel to it and I will have to go back down a size for my next one.

July is a busy month for Birthdays so I've coloured up a few images and I still have a few to do. This is how I colour my images, I have to work out which part to colour so I can layer them.

I also brought another Lazer Cut Stampin Up InkPad shelf, I know the other inkpads are a bit small for the slots but it works out OK and they both match each other.

Silhouette Flowers

Having seen cards with black silhouette flowers and knew I had a similar stamp. I wasn’t keen on blending so I found an old Stamping Up set with this Stamp strip. The first card I alternate the colours but the one below I coloured in blocks.

The sentiments are Simon says Stamp and I think the floral stamp is Crafty Individuals.

If like me you use baby wipes to clean you stamps before using Romberg to put tape over the stamp to make sure it’s clear of fibre or it stamp like the card above. Check the tall flower.

Namaste

I recently brought some stamps from Stamping Bella and this one of them. I didn’t buy the Word stamps because I mainly make Birthday cards.

The sketch is from Sketch Saturday but not sure what week, the Memory Box leaves die replaced the fishtail tag on the sketch. Flowers are a unbranded set and the sentiment from Simon says Stamp. I edged the triangle with a scallop border die.

Hugs

I've been meaning to use this stamp for a while, it was the last Simon says Stamp Card Kit I received, I knew I was going to paper piece the umbrella but in the end I decided to do the skirt as well.

I made the cloud background with the cloud stencil that came with the kit. Although not obvious I used the Splitcoast Stampers Sketch 808 by cutting the background and layered it with white possibly the mistake but hey ho.

The sentiment is also from the stamp set with the large image and I used an Alphabet die for the hugs. Couldn't believe I didn't have a hugs die so I had to remedy that immediately.

Wish For You

July is a busy Birthday month with both Men and Women cards and I was meant to have a colouring in day yesterday but decided I didn't have any grown up images. So I spent the morning stamping Stamping Bella images and rediscovering Dr Digi who I haven't used for ages. Also I recently discovered that Krista aka Saturated Canary is on Etsy so I brought some images, OK I managed to duplicate one image but thats because I haven't used one for ages and forgotton what I had, I'll double check next time.

But the image I'm using today is a Mo Manning one and its Patreon one Wish for You, sometimes Mo gives us a image that is eventually going into the shop. I recently ordered some paper packs and this one is a Carta Bella.

I'm pretty certain this was a sketch but for the life of me I can't find it never mind I used my favourite dies, the MFT Crochet Border for round the circle and the unbranded flower that are like the retro flower punch that is no more. Not for forgetting the flat bow so it fits in normal post.

Lavender

I stamped a few background for this card and in the end didn’t use any simply because I didn’t like it so went back to very clean and simple.
The background to the stitched rectangle was the only one I used but I also used it for the flowers on the Memory Box Lavender die. Finally the sentiment from Simon says Stamp.

Got round to colour up some images so hopefully, I’ll get a few more card done soon.
