Silhouette Flowers

Having seen cards with black silhouette flowers and knew I had a similar stamp. I wasn’t keen on blending so I found an old Stamping Up set with this Stamp strip. The first card I alternate the colours but the one below I coloured in blocks.

The sentiments are Simon says Stamp and I think the floral stamp is Crafty Individuals.

If like me you use baby wipes to clean you stamps before using Romberg to put tape over the stamp to make sure it’s clear of fibre or it stamp like the card above. Check the tall flower.

Freshly Bouquet

Once again I'm late using a Freshly Made Sketch this one is #419 and it gave me the opportunity to use Tim Holtz Sizzix Bouquet Die.

I knew I was going to use the Simon says Stamp Cosmo Stem die but was in two minds whether to include the stem in the end as you can see I left it on.

The sentiment is again Simon says Stamp Stitched banners and their Tiny Words Birthday. Job done.

Instagram Top Nine

Not sure if anyone realised I have an Instagram account and it was interesting to do my top nine and they are all Clean and Simple, one or two I thought "really".

So for 2019 no resolutions but goals one of which will try and be more clean and simple just wish they were just as quick!

Another goal is to get to my target weight, before Christmas that would have been 3 1/2 pounds it's now    but it's OK I hope to get my Christmas weight off by the end of January.

The last goal is to be more crafty no more wasting time watching the telly and playing on my ipad. I've had some lovely goodies arrive in my craft room and brought for me at Christmas they need using.

Oh there is one more Christmas Cards, last year was a nightmare seriously I can't leave it sooo late to make them, so I will looking out for Christmas Cards Challenges.

A bit of Pink

This wa a practise card to try and work out which circle punches or dies fit in the centres of the flowers. The flower die is to replace a punch I love but my hands struggle with. Unfortunately there was no name on the packet or the die and the seller doesn’t seem to sell it anymore.

So while sorting out the centres I wasn’t going to waste the flowers I made and made a quick card. The sentiment which is Simon says Stamp.

Well it’s been a busy and times boring week, I have had some deeper injections in my shoulders and was told to take it easy, I hate not doing anything drives Hubby potty or should I say I drive him so.

Hope to get into the craft room today to do some DT work but they’re changing my pain pills on Monday so next week could be interesting.

I knew I wanted this Calm and Loving stamp set from CASual-fridays, I think I was more interested in using the heart blossom stamp to make my own background. There are some smaller heart stamp to fill up any spaces I've missed.

I used Oxides to make my background but I did this before I went on my hols and I'm not sure which pink I used and there are a few. I've checked by making a sample and can confirm its Worn Lipstick and Candied Apple.

I then stamped my tree and using Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangle cut it out and then used the Scallop Border die again by Simon Says Stamp. I used the rectangle dies for the background I made and the two together to make a rectangle.

To finish I used the Simon Says Stamp Best Hugs stamp set for my large hugs and the it will be ok was with the Calm and Loving stamp set.

The moment I saw this Hero Arts Thorn Tree and Grass die I knew I wanted it, thinking it would be a perfect addition for Scrapbooking just need the right photo. But in the mean time a CAS card to show it off.

I cut the tree twice once in brown and once in green, I carefully cut the branches off the green piece and then llayered it over the brown tree. I used Stick it foam squares cut to the size I wanted to give dimension but I stuck the two end to the brown card, I then overlapped the tree on the side of the card.

The sentiments I used is the Simon Says Stamp Seeing Stars to finish.

Are you getting excited for Stamptember which is only a couple of days away, I know I am.

Lots of Love

Since I'm scheduling my post for the next few days because I'm at a Wedding and staying at the hotel where the reception is being held, I thought I might as well add another schedule post.

It's a very CAS card, in fact I cut the Tim Holtz swirl and backed and then hadn't a clue what to do with it so its been on my desk for a few months. When I gave my son a baby blanket for one of his friends he wanted me to add a card to it. So I quickly added the Penny Black word die in the matching colour.

Not my best work but at least it didn't go to waste and I got a thank you card from the couple in the post which was lovely.

The small baby is getting married today, funny enough the toddler got married exactly one month ago.

I'm not keen on white and gold so you're probably asking why use it the answer is that gold shows up so much better when you photo your card.

To be honest this was a quick card, I used the Simon Says Stamp Bundle of Shapes for the large Rectangle. I then used the small dies from Spellbinder Art Deco Astoria  and I stamped and embossed with gold the sentiment from Simon Says Stamps Uplifting Thoughts.

I then used  WOW gold embossing powder again to emboss the flowers from Simon Say Stamp Oh Happy Day stamp set. I especially love those leaves in the top right corner I think they may have given me a thought for my next SSS card.

Birthday Giraffe

Oh dear here we go again with a Clean and Simple card and lets be honest you can't get more cleaner than this.
The cut giraffe is High Hopes and the fence is from MFT. The Stitched Rectangle is Simon Says Stamp and so it the sentiment.

And thats it but I'm glad I finally got round to using the image its been in coloured pile for at least a year.

My draft post have dwindled down to a couple, I'm a bit disappointed I haven't been able to add to them this week.

So in theory you would have thought that a challenge using a company that makes beautiful flower stamps I would have made sure I had a new one to use but I fancy the Hero Arts Butterfly Pair.

That means I had to work out what to use for flowers and I'm pleased to say I had a reason to use the new Simon Says Stamps Hydrangea Petals die and the smaller flowers are  Simon Says Stamps Mini Flowers and Leaves die.

For my leaves I used the Simon Says Stamp Look for the Miracles stamp set and used the leaves and carefully cut them out. The papers I used for the leaves are Lets Polka in a Meadow from Lawn Fawn simply because they were green and still on my desk from last week! The centres of my larger flowers are the Lawn Fawn Mini Snowflakes.

I used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles dies and the butterflies are coloured with Prismacolor pencils. It was has I was used the die to cut them I realised that they didn't cut completely out but a crafty snip with scissors and some Hero Arts pearls soon hid the evidence.

So now it's YOUR turn.  Happy Crafting

Oh no not another One Layer

Seriously this is really is the last time I do and one layer card unless I'm forced. We having a mid month reminder on Penny Black Saturday Challenge so pop over and check out some one layer gorgeousness.

This is actually a Penny Black Clear Stamp Set called Tutu Sweet, I do have the digi but I would go for the other ballerina in the set because this little cuties hair is tricky to cut and layer. Also I am far too lazy to add the ballet shoes and sentiments using the PC.

Colouring and One Layer are tricky too you have to keep in the lines but colour up to lines. To make the card a bit more interesting I paper pricked round the card.

Fingers crossed the weather will stay dry but it looks like it may be cloudy, there's the Farnborough Air Show BBQ planned at my sisters house. Not sure how much we will see since the rules about where the planes are fly have changed.

Hello Ice Cream

A card made with snippets the zig-zag Doodlebug paper is left over from the card yesterday and the spot paper is also left over from the Simon Says Stamp ice creams. I had to make the yellow tops but the mint green one was left in the die from goodness knows when.

Luckily I had a scrap of the green in my scrapbox but I did have lot of scraps to go through for the Simon Says Stamp Hello die.

The sketch is CAS(e) this sketch #180 but the ice cream have hidden the gap between the papers but I stuck the cones with sticky glue and I couldn't move them. I did make the gaps with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched fishtail banner dies.

Hopefully since I made this card with scraps I can enter this card on Pixie Snippets Playgroup wk 237 cos there are PB stamp to be won and I wanted it to be me. You can win if you not in it!

One Layer

One Layer is this months Penny Black Challenge and this is my second attempt although the first attempted is OK its not a favourite and I'm in two minds whether to bin it.

So I searched through a few Penny Black Stamp before deciding on this cute Hedgie and the Birthday sentiment that seldom gets used. Its a lot harder to do colouring for one layer I have to be extra careful when using the paper stubbs. Usually when I layer it doesn't matter if I go over the edge.

I also cut out the one layer as card front, so technically it isn't quite one layer but so  many cards end up in the bin that I'm not prepared to waste a whole card.

Looking at my calendar for July its pretty much filling up far too much for my liking hope I get time to make cards.

Masking

wed-newchallenge-header

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge
Thank you for joining us for the Anything Goes Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too.
We will be back soon with the name of the lucky winner of the $50 Voucher
This week the challenge is

 MASK IT

there are several ways you can create a mask, by simply tearing paper you can create hills and valleys, die cutting a shape, using a stencil or masking fluid or simply stamping an image onto scratch paper and cutting around it. The possibilities are almost endless! We will be looking forward to seeing what technique you use to create your project!
We are showcasing Altenew Products this week. You don't have to use them to join in but if you have some we would love to see them used
As always Simon Says Stamp will be giving away $50 voucher to shop at the fabulous Simon Says Stamp Store
50dollar_voucher_600px

Generally the masking technique is a technique that I know and have done but because I layer my images I don't necessary to do that often.

So for this challenge I thought I would actually show masking and gave myself another challenge by making a one layer card what on earth was I thinking.

First of all I stamped my Altenew Succulents on piece of thin copy paper, its important to stamp on paper to make you mask to try and avoid the halo effect. I then had the pleasure of cutting out and again its important to cut close to the edge of the outline nearest the image. This again to try and avoid the halo but I have a black pen ready in case it happens. To make my masks repositionally I used a Zig two way glue pen on the back.

I stamped the middle pot first and when I'm sure the ink is dry I carefully place the mask making sure is it correctly cover the image. Then stamp the two pots on each side of the central image. I would at this point embossed the Simon Stamps Stitched Rectangles. Of foolish me I embossed after I use Prismacolour Pencils to colour my images and held my breath that I have embossed them crooked.

What was I thinking I stamped the beautiful sentiment from the Succulents stamp set over my image and to make it stand out I used WOW black embossing powder. So much could have gone at the last moment that when it didn't I almost needed a lie down in a dark room to recover.

So now it's YOUR turn.  Happy Crafting

Daisies

A quick clean and simple card that was made by accident, first the curve dotty paper was left over from another card and the flowers were punched out but not used so I put them together.

I ran out of time for the sentiments and said a silent prayer to Mr Mojo that it stamped first time on the linen card and it did.

I am shattered and I need to to empty and sort out my bags from the Retreat but I hurt in places I didn't know I had a problem with but I had a brilliant time and even won one of the challenges. When I find the layout and able to take a photo I will post it.

I don't think I will be up to making cards for a couple days and DT cards have all been made up to Thursday but I do  have to make a Penny Black one for Saturday.

Merry Purple

Some more "I really need quick Christmas cards) once again I used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Snowflakes and their Merry and Bright die. This time in purple.

I even used the waste, well this way you can see the stitched marks.

Even more left over waste this time I didn't even bother to add the snowflakes inside but used some gems instead.
Lucky for me I didn't have to make a boys card, my DD had sneaked some of my boys cards away and offered me one. Just has well I did ache quite a bit. So I've now connected all the crochet squares and written the Christmas Cards that have to be posted aboard. Its a bit obvious that I need more cards.

Thank goodness Mr Virgin is behaving today and the engineer that came yesterday changed all the connections all through the house. Not sure I would want to try and do all the links today on my hudl.
So back to my card which I feel a bit guilty about it really does look Clean and Simple but it did take a while to layer my arrows.
My mind went blank what to do for a Back to School card and that was partly why I got the My Mind's Eye Hello World, I was thinking of Geography. I took the world map and the Simon Says Stamp Mod Arrow Border and cut the arrows out carefully placing to one side in the way of the die to use on top of the layers. I then cut out three more layers and when all were in placed I added the map arrows.
I was so impressed with my arrow border I didn't want to hide them and in the end I just used the Simon Says Sending die with the Happy and Smile stamp to finish off the sentiment.

I was worried you wouldn't see my arrows so I took another picture at a jaunty angle.

So now it's YOUR turn.  Happy Crafting
