Big Guy Cycling

Another card I had to make before I went on my hols, this time the card is for my brother and again I'm going to have to work out what I've used.

The easy one is Mo's Big Guy's Bike, for me was a bit tricky to layer but he was worth it.

Now the papers I think could be some old Taylored Expression with a bit of random dotty paper I had saved from somewhere. The sentiment is Simon Says Stamp Painted Happy Birthday, the Stars are Simon Says Stamp Bundle of Shapes and MFT Stitched Stars.

You can see that the Big Guy Jumper as been paper pieced, which bring the whole card together.

I made this card before I went away but didn't write my post, I'm now kicking myself because I need to remember what I used.

First off I love 6 by 6 Doodlebug papers they are perfect for card making, I love them so much that two packs arrived while on holiday luckily the order went through letter box. The pack I used was So Punny.

I finally got my hands on the Simon Says Stamp Picture Book Giraffe, I kept missing out everytime he came back in stock, so quick he's back in stock. I inked the edges especially as I was placing him on the yellow background. I cut out another head which is partly stuck at the top of his head and a chopped up tiny 3d foam in the centre of his head.

My borders are Simon Says Stamp Stitched Borders and the sentiment is Simon Says Stamp Welcome Little One die. I love that using the background to the words helps to be able to add 3d foam easily. Another die to buy real quick before it goes out of stock again.

Finally the flowers, I think I used the Simon says Stamp Hydrangea die with their Forget Me Not leaves. The yellow centres are Simon Says Stamp Stitched Snowflakes and the circles in middle are made from Tim Holtz Thinlets Gears die, its actually one of the cogs waste.

I think I've remembered everything but let me if I've missed anything.

Leo the Lion

I had a little play in my craftroom but I think I left my Mojo on the Oriana which is now travelling round the mediterranean. Still I did enjoy making my little lion using the Picture Book Lion from Simon Says Stamp.

Now that I made my lion the tricky part was to make an actual card, luckily I have a pile of Oxides backgrounds. I used one and cut out the rectangle using Simon Says Stamp Bundle of Shapes and their Stitched Circles. Before I put the circle back I place some Simon Say Stamp Forget me not Flowers leaves.

Finally the sentiment was Simon Say Stamp Happy Birthday and the tiny wishes stamp is from Simon Says Stamp Thoughtful Messages, glad to see it back in stock.

I had a lovely time cruising once I got over the sea sickness literally the first day at sea, a visit to the Medical room. So the first few days I was unwell but once I got over that we really enjoyed it and plan another in couple of years. Although hubby wants a suite like we did this time, he's not keen on being stuck in a small room with me being ill.

Bouncy Castle

There were so many photos of the Family Fun Day that I wanted to use and it was tricky to work out what would work as a layout some like the first layout I decide to go the faux pocket page. I do love working this way because I can overlap titles, flowers etc. It just so happened the Lawn Fawn Spring Showers die had arrived in my craft room and worked well.

I had some really good close ups of  some of my Gt Nephews which would be so wrong of me not to use. The ratio of boys in my family are a lot higher than girls and Scrapbooking boys is just as hard as making boys cards.

I've come back from hols to find out that I need to do something about GDPR and I've added a Privacy page I hope this is enough. I have copied it from Crafting While Baby Naps but I have deleted and added what I think would be relevant to my blog.

Cheek to Cheek

I thought I had schedule this post but somehow it got forgotten obviously thought I would have time yesterday when I got back off my hols. Since summer finished the day we arrived back I quickly put some washing in and worn myself out sorting it all out.

Back to the card I've used Mo's Cheek to Cheek image for a previous Golden Wedding card, probably the same paper but it was a square one with not much space to make it pretty. So I made an A4 card I think thats what its called basically it a piece of A4 folded in half.

The papers are too short for this size card so some curved Scallop dies one to bring interest and two to add some patterned paper. The leaves are Memory Box, I think are called Lavish Foliage and the die is a second hand one brought on e bay the seller or myself have no idea whose it is.

My heart is an retired Heart die from Simon Says Stamp but I've cut out the centre to add a bit of matching colour. The gold sentiment on the image is from LOTV retired again and I think the fish tail banner sentiment is Simon says Stamp Messages for Everyday

This card was for my Sister and her Hubby who had the 50th Wedding Anniversary while we were away, bad planning on my part.

Duck!!!!

wed-newchallenge-header

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge
Thank you for joining us for the Stencil It Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week to.
This week the challenge is

Use More Than One Stamp

We are showcasing Honey Bee Products this week. You don't have to use them to join in but if you have some we would love to see them used
As always Simon Says Stamp will be giving away $50 voucher to shop at the fabulous Simon Says Stamp Store

When I plan to buy stamps for a challenge I really need to pay more attention, when I saw Honey Bee Products and I saw this duck stamp I needed to have it. The clue was in the name of the stamp Penny the Platypus but doesn't she make a cute duck. I pretty sure I've seen Penny as a duck before and that why it stuck in my head.

I used my Polychromos to colour her and I carefully cut round one wing so I could add the string to her balloons. Now here comes the use more than one stamp part I stamped the balloons from the stamp set onto the pattern paper and fussy cut them out. Forgot to mention who made the Pattern Paper its Echo Park Happy Birthday Girl.

The tiny sentiment is from Simon says Stamp Messages for Everyday and the balloon string is May Arts Natural Twine String.

Bella Birthday

A card for a special niece, it's easy to remember how old she is because her Mum was pregnant at our Wedding and since she makes amazing cakes I've Stampin Bella Uptown Girl Ava love to Celebrate.

The papers are Echo Park Happy Birthday Girl and I've used it to paper piece Ava's dress as well as the flowers. The flowers are made using Simon Says Stamp Hydrangea Petal dies, the centres are Simon Says Stamp Stitched Snowflakes die ( used the smallest one) and the tiny dots are from a Tim Holtz Gearhead Thinlets I used the actual waste from one of the cogs.

I stamped Happy from Simon Says Stamps on the fishtail banner I made using their Stitched Banners. This meant I only had to use the Birthday part of the Simon says Stamp Happy Birthday die. My oval frame was made using Simon says Stamp Stitched Ovals and the I nearly forgot the leaves on my flowers they're Simon says Stamp Forget Me Know flowers die.

I'm not sure whether you are aware but I'm not at home,  I will be later but we are on here.

Fun day Games

There were loads of photos of the Family Fun Day, I knew I wouldn't be able to do them all and it was tricky to work out which one. We had some old fashioned games, I can remember going to my Dad' works do on their big field and they had egg and spoon and sack races etc

No proper eggs for the egg and spoon race, my niece had a plastic egg and spoons. The papers are Simple Stories and I used some dies from Elizabeth Crafts for my ladybirds/ladybugs, the fence is MFT and the toadstools are Cottage Cutz. Finally the clouds are Memory Box.

The fancy die along the bottom didn't have a packet and where I usually write on the back with a permanent pen there was no company name. The title was American Craft and the laugh arrow was  a die I borrowed from my friend.

There are still some more Family Fun Day Layouts to come.

Flower Cluster

A surprise fell onto my door mat last week with a die for the lastest Simon Says Stamp release Sending Sunshine. My die is called Flower Cluster which is a corner die and I have used it twice here. A small tip if you want to use twice like I have done,  decide on you sentiment and if its stamped do it before cutting the two flowers clusters or at least make sure you have enough room. I'm speaking from experience.

Once I cut the two dies I place tape behind so the sticky side was facing and I place the outline in place. I used a few of the white pieces so it looks like the background is coming through. Then I used green and dark pink card to make my leaves and flowers and yellow for the centres. For some reason I decided that one of the petal of was part of the bud and cut it in a red only to release it wasn't at all but just for today I think I can get away with it.

Since the sentiment I hoped to use didn't fit I decided to use the Message for Everyday the set is made up with these smaller sentiments for every occasion and more. Finally I used the Stitching Butterflies but I also used the body of the Adeline Butterfly.

I'm still trying to work out a better way of photographing my cards and I noticed that several blogs photo above the card and at an angle with some white wooden background. So I thought I would give it a try, need to work out the light, the picture had to be lighten quite a bit but I'm liking the wooden effect paper.

Anniversary Hugs

May is a busy card making month, anniversaries and birthdays, to start with an Anniversary card I've used Mo's A Rose. It could be used for an engagement card too.

The papers are some scraps of Simple Stories although I think the dotty one might a scrap from another manufacture.

I'm trying to work out what make the border dies are, I think I'm going to have pass finding out. I pretty sure they may be more than one company but as you see anyones will do.

Now the outline heart and the middle heart are from a Simon says Stamp retired die and the tiny heart is from their Holiday Shapes. The flowers are a MFT die but I think that is retired too but I'm still going use because its a favourite.

Use a Stencil

wed-newchallenge-header

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge
Thank you for joining us for the Boys Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too.
This week the challenge is

Stencil It

We are showcasing our very own Simon Says Stamp Exclusive Products this week. You don't have to use them to join in but if you have some we would love to see them used
As always Simon Says Stamp will be giving away $50 voucher to shop at the fabulous Simon Says Stamp Store
50dollar_voucher_600px

Mmmm I think I go carried away with the stencils, I used Oxides for all of the background well except the sequins. The main colour is Squeezed Lemonade and I covered the whole page, if I did it again I would leave a white space in the middle since I now think it was a bit much.

With the help of post it notes and scraps of paper I carefully used the Tim Holtz Roses Stencil and moving it around I placed my roses. I matched up the roses but covered them so I could use the leaf parts. Finally I used the Simon Says Stamp Large Falling Hearts stencil carefully covering up any hearts that may fall on my roses.

I used the Tim Holtz Stamping Platform for stamping my sentiment because I wanted to make sure it showed up well. The sentiment came from the Simon Says Stamp Thoughtful Messages stamp set.

It needed something else so I used the Simon Says Stamp Stitching Butterflies dies, they're out of stock at the moment but I would recommend to use the notify me link because I think they will be flying out of the doors once they arrive back in stock.

Family fun day

It was while my nieces and nephews came to say their goodbyes to their Nan they said we ought to get together rather than meeting up round a hospital bed. So the Family Fun Day was born.

Of course for some they couldn't make it but the ones who could did. A bouncy castle was ordered and costco sandwiches, not forgetting cake. My niece held it in her garden since hers was the largest.

I made Pocket page with some photos that I wanted to use, you can see I didn't actually use a plastic pocket page but rather used a 12 inch card and cut the photos to make it look a pocket page. I love this way so I can stick titles and flowers etc over the edges of the photos.

The papers are Simple Stories not sure what ones but I used most of it up with other fun day pages which will come over the next few weeks.

More Spring Flowers

This was a bit of an experiment, there have several designer using Polychromos and singing their praises well I've been using them for years. They are using a feather technique which you can do with copics too. I wondered whether I could colour a flat image but to colour to give it some depth. Not sure I've managed it but still please how it turned out.

I first used the Simon Says Stamp More Spring Stamp, for a softer finish I used a Memento Grey Flannel inkpad and of course used the pencils. Once done I used the the Simon Says Stamp More Spring Flowers dies to cut them out.

I used the Simon Says Stamp Moroccan Tile Stencil but used it to emboss with. I cut out the Simon Says Stamps Birthday Script die with gold card. It was then placed my flowers using the CAS(e) this sketch 269 to inspire my card. Once I was happy I stuck them down and trimmed round the card and then added a bit of gold round the edge.

I still had a large white space in the middle and I couldn't leave it and I cut the Simon Says Stamp Flickering Butterflies in gold. The larger butterfly I raised but the tiny ones I stuck fully down.

I think it would be interesting if I made the same card but layering the flowers which is really my thing, will have to put that on my list to do.

Wishes

I do love this image from Mo called Make a Wish and it can be used for lots of reasons. First to turn into a card I used the Sketch SC 369 from Splitcoast stampers its an old one since they are in the 600's.

The papers are Doodlebug apart from the odd dotty page I now using scraps. I'm using a flower die that I brought from another crafter but no idea who makes it but the flowers are like the EK retro flower punch which I find tricky to punch now. The dots in the flower centres are a circle punch for the large flower but the smaller ones I've used the Tim Holtz Cogs die set, a couple of the dies have circles for waste perfect for flowers.

You can probably just see a scallop border which is an old MFT scallop border die, not sure if they still do a small one. I also used a glitter pen on the dandelion seed head but of course the camera doesn't show that up.

Toadally Awesome

wed-newchallenge-header

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge
Thank you for joining us for the Animal Magic Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too.

This week the challenge is

For The Boys

We are showcasing Lawn Fawn Products this week. You don't have to use them to join in but if you have some we would love to see them used
As always Simon Says Stamp will be giving away $50 voucher to shop at the fabulous Simon Says Stamp Store
50dollar_voucher_600px

I had to chose whether to use some old Lawn Fawn or use the excuse to get some new Lawn Fawn. Well the Lawn Fawn Toadally Awesome stamps are new to me so you can guess which way I went.

I didn't buy the dies there is alway something else you want or see while you are shopping in Simon Says Stamp. so I fussy cut them and layered head and onto the lily pond leaves. I was inspired for my card with the Sketch SC692 on Splitcoast Stampers but there is a sneaky lily and extra toad.

You can see I've used the fabulous Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles and the sentiment is from the Toadally Awesome stamp set and Simon Say Stamp Thoughtful Messages stamps.

Now I just needed something in the top left corner and it just so happens I already had the Lawn Fawn Spring Showers and the bit of colourful paper is also Lawn Fawn Really Rainbow paper pack.

To be honest I think my card would work for both sexes and not just for boys.
