Poinsettia Snowman

There was a definitely a Christmas feeling going on in my Craft room the other day. We're only a day away till August and its all downhill till Christmas and I've started to realise my good intention of making lots of Christmas Cards before we get to those last panic months are not appearing.
One of reason I check out the sketch on Christmas Challenge with Sketches and I thought I will give this weeks a go.
The circles on the sketch I turned into Poinsettias using Spellbinders dies but I've added an extra one cos I didn't like just two of them. I also used the Floral Oval from Spellbinders and the papers are Echo Park from last year. Not forgetting the cut snowman which is a stamp from High Hopes.
Just added some gems for flowers centres since I don't like the dies ones and job is done.

Just a little bit of Pink!

I love how the pink and grey works so well together and was perfect for Mo's I Heart You image.  Of course I used a challenge sketch this time from The Sketchy Challenge certainly need them at the moment cos Mr Mojo is a bit hit and miss or the camera just hates my cards.
The papers are from a Papermania pack and yes that the Martha Stewart deep edge Doily punch working hard again.
Flowers are EK success punches and I slipped an extra flower cos even numbers just don't work for me and the leaves are Cheery Lynn. To finish a bit of ribbon and a punched butterfly which is Kars punch.

Happy Birthday to my Son.
This is a picture of him when he was three you have to add a one to the number for his age today. Where did the the time go.

Whoops didn't say which side of the three the one had to go and definitely not of the left!

Sunday Already

I suddenly remembered that this card was using the Sunday Sketch and Stamp sketch, well today is Sunday and I guess that means I'm a bit too late.
Just as well as the red is making my eyes hurt, its not like that in real life cos I wouldn't have made it like it but the camera has picked up the red more than anything else.
The papers are Echo Park and of course the cute darling if you can get past all the red is from Mo called  Lacie.
I used the deep edge doily punch from Martha Stewart for around my image mat and some MFT clouds.
Mum had a lovely time cos my Sis brought some nibbles and a cake but the nursing home made a cake for her too, well sorry M&S but their cake was so light and tasty we've all put our orders in for our Birthdays.

Here's a couple pics of Mum with my Sister and of course one of Baby Harry with his Mum.

Something for Saturday

One more week till the new challenge on Penny Black Saturday Challenge so you still have time for a Summertime card and to enter my candy of ribbons and flowers.
So that still left me with no card for today so I had to make a Penny Black one, have you seen the new cattie for Christmas definitely a few on my Must Have list.
But this little chap isn't that new but he sure is cute and I thought I would make a girly card with him.
Mr Mojo is playing tricks his tricks again and I struggled to make this card. The papers are Echo Park and swirly mat are the Martha Stewart Cherish punches, also I had to use the lace since I managed to buy some more on e-bay.
The tiny flowers are not meant to be there but someone made a really dirty mark that wouldn't rub out so I had to take emergency action.
I'm thinking of returning back to bed staying up till one o'clock watching the Opening of the Olympics isn't good for my health cos when I turned the telly off I was wide awake and then waking up at 6 and not being able to get back to sleep. Hour later I'm now tired.
Off to see my Mum later its her Birthday and fingers crossed my niece Amanda is going to be there with her new Son Harry who was born on the 7th July. The camera is being charged as I type.

A Little bit of Sassy

I thought I would give this weeks sketch from Sketch Saturday a go but I've been struggling this week. The sketch was a simple one a lot of white space or in my case pink gingham.
The sweet image is from Sassy Cheryl but I think it could be one she is retiring and is in her bargain bin of $1. Not sure of the papers, I know the gingham is Craft Creations but the dotty brown was a random scrap bit and since I had kraft card on my desk, I decided to mat with that which seems to suit this cute Sassy.
Instead of squares I used flowers but I did sneak in a small third one cos I think three works better than two.
Just a sentiment to finish and since I still love making banners it had to place inside of one.
Well we've had some hot summer weather but it looks like it back to the normal wet one but lets hope it stays dry for the opening of the Olympics.

Buttons

First of all this wasn't my idea I saw this card on Pinterest and thought what a brilliant idea. I know you can't just change a card by putting it on Kraft card instead of white but nearly all my Clean and Simple cards have been put on white so I thought it would make a change. But soon realised that the Kraft card I have would stand with the weight of the buttons so it had to be matted onto a white card.
I'm still making banners especially for the sentiment which is a Penny Black one.
Since I've stitched the buttons on the card I think that ticked the box for Less is More.

All in White

The new challenge for the week for Simon Says Stamps Challenge is for Anything Goes and the team is showcasing the Exclusive dies from Simon Says Stamps, which is not neccessary for you to join in.

Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog

No stamping on my card but an awful lot of die cutting, so bear with me but here's what I used.
The oval is from Spellbinders Floral Ovals, that was the easy bit.
The tall flowers are Fresh Daisies and Meadow Rue and the flowers you saw this morning as well are the centres of the large Bella Bloom. The Tender Leaves and the Delicate Fern are Memory Box.
Now don't forget to check out the team, Heather and Mandy have made some gorgeous flowers with the Bella Bloom.
Simon Says Stamps Challenge has a fabulous Prize to win too.

But you have to enter to win it.

Something Blue

This is one of the cards I've made for the new Simon Says Stamps Challenge but I'm not telling you what it is!
I did realise that I keep using the same Sarah Kay's which is why I made another card for the Challenge.
The papers are Echo Park but just one sheet and I used the Martha Stewart Cherish punches for the image mat and a border.
Otherwise the rest are die, I adore the Exclusive Simon Says Stamps Meadow Rue even though paper piecing the buds are fiddly. The flowers are the small centres of the Bella Bloom including the tiny centres and the leaves are Memory box.
Nearly forgot the Star border again once again is a Simon Says Stamps exclusive die.
So I will be back at 2pm with the new challenge.

Quick Fishing Card

I had to make a Man's card and it just happens he does a bit of Fishing and I quickly printed this chap from my Mo's image folder, you can get him in a stamp from Penny Black.
I think the papers are Echo Park A boy's Life but I'm not too sure and it very simple with just the memory box die to give the impression he hiding out in the trees.
Just feel its bear but that what you get for mens cards.
I've been asked to add an e-mail thingy for when I post, well I added it and I've use another e-mail of mine and it doesn't work so if anyone uses it can they let me know that it works otherwise I might as well remove it.

Something a bit different

Mmmmm Orange Poppies, its because I feel red ones are sad ones. I suppose I  think the red ones are for remembering the lost service men and that why I always thing of red poppies of sympathy cards.
But I've seen them in other colours and thought I would try Orange but mainly it was because the First Edition Boho Chic was near me and I like the pattern which I then cover up.
These Hero Arts stamps are perfect for paper piecing and I added some flower soft for the centres but its extra fine which seemed to work better than the ordinary stuff.
Just a few colour elements and a piece of twine to finish. I think I will pop this on Brenda challenge hope I can get out away with orange.

High Hopes Snowman

Can you believe it we are approaching the last weekend of July and I'm getting slightly nervous about how many Christmas Cards I promised to make but haven't so remedy this here's a Snowman from High Hopes.
I followed the Christmas Challenges (with sketches) sketch even chosen the pattern paper to go with it!
But has you can see no patterned papers were hurt in making the card in fact they weren't used at all.
I've used the exclusive die from Simon Says Stamps for the star border and the Sizzix embossing folder for the circle mat which I then used the Martha Stewart snowflake punch to border it.
I did have a problem with the gems was having a real problem stepping away from them and I had to take some of them off.
Summer is here, well for a week a least but I think there a bit of a North and South divide with the weather not so good up North.

Cowgirl

I decided that I really should use some of my stamps and maybe some of my ever growing flowers collection.
So this little cutie is from Sugar Nellie and I had a go at the sketch that was on the Sugar Bowl, well it started that way but my the time I added corners flowers, swirls and my picket fence, you can only just make out the sketch but it is there.
The papers are from Kaiser and for a change I've used Kraft card to mat and layer, to be honest I wasn't sure I like it but its growing on my.
Well it looks like Summer is coming to the UK for a week at least, I think I need a bit of sun to cheer me up.

Sewing

Off to MJ's All Day Crop today, I'll be the one wearing a scarf. So this post is being schedule so fingers crossed and everything else that Mr Blogger will post this.
I simply can't have a week without a Penny Black card and I haven't used this one in a while. I've got a book of Papermania papers that I thought would work for wedding and girlie cards and I love the monochrome look it gives my card.
The floral die is from Memory box and so are the flowers but I also paper pieced the buds, just used my 1/4 inch punch and the large hole of the cropadile for the centres.
All that left to do was a bit of my favourite lace and a bit of ribbon.
You can still enter the Penny Black Saturday Challenge the theme is Summertime and if you believe the weathermen it could be arriving here in the UK this weekend but then we didn't get a hurricane in 1987!

Slam Dunk Duncan

I think this image from Dr Digis is brilliant which is why I brought him as soon as I saw him and then this week I saw the sketch on Sketch Saturday and knew I just had to use him.
The papers are Doodlebug and the star border is a die from Simon Says Stamps. The rest of the stars are a mixture of shapeabilities and punches.
I did have one problem stepping away from putting more stars on.
Hubby not to sure on the new car its so quiet he can't hear the engine for changing gear or thats his excuse for stalling it on a roundabout with a police car behind him.
I have had my hair done, well coloured for a long time now I realise the colour I have doesn't go with my complexion and as I'm looking for a natural look, I knew it was time for change but not this drastic.
Hubby likes it apparently I don't look like I'm dead! His words.
When I'm more confident I take a picture but at the moment I'm avoiding mirrors!

Mo's Blog Hop

Woo Hoo another Blog Hop with Mo's Dream Team and the theme for this month is from Mina who has chosen ribbons.

I wanted to do something other than just a strip of ribbon and a bow. So what does ribbon look like when it knotted, why kite tails and I just need the perfect image from Mo called Kite, isn't he adorable.
I used Echo Park A Boy's Life but only a couple of the pages didn't wanted to over do it and then just added some clouds stamped from Francoise Read Patchwork Balloon set. The tricky bit was fiddling with the twine to make rings and making sure they stuck was the hardest bit.
Now you've should of arrived from Julie's Blog but if you're lost then pop back to Mina to start again.
From me you need to hop, skip and jump to

Don't forget to comment on the way to be in with a chance to win one of the two vouchers for Mo's Shop.

Join me for a Cuppa

It's sketch time over on Simon Says Stamps Challenge and its one from our Teamie Dawny who makes fab sketches, not too complicated and plenty of room for embellishments. This week we are also featuring My Favourite Things.
Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog

Instead of using one their Pure Innocence images which cry out to be paper pieced I've used a Sarah Kay Tea Please image but i have used MFT dies. I especially love the Fancy Flourish die which I do chop up a bit so I have a top and bottom flourish. Then I've used Mini Royal Roses which I think I've worked out the best way to do them, a pop dot on the bottom rather than glue. The paper are Carta Belle Beautiful Moments from Echo Park.
Sorry that some of the things I've use are out of stock but Simon are at CHA so hopefully lots of new goodies will be arriving soon.

Now don't forget the fabulous prize this week but you have to be in it to be in with a chance of winning it and how about sending the card to Cards for Maddy Card Drive. Maddy is a 13 year old girl who is undergoing treatment for Acute Myeloid Leukaemia. For further deatils please see THIS post on the Simon Says Stamp Blog.

We Three Trees

This weeks Less is More has me stumped, I have ideas but none of them would be called One Layer even paper piecing.
I would love to be able to make some inventive cards that have already been posted but I merely stamped three trees and not even straight! They from a Christmas set from Stampin Up and I'm not impressed with my crooked photography skills even cos the sentiment is straight.
So just a quick card and post, my SSS card is now being posted at 2pm in line with the girls in the US, so see you then.

Poster Girl

It seems very strange not having a card of Everybody Art Challenge especially as it for a summer break and it more like October which is confirmed when the heating comes on automatically.
So instead I just made a card and I've loads of coloured images crying out to be used. This is Mo's, yes I know I use her images a lot but they so easy to use and fun to colour, back to the card its a Girl with a Sign which I stamped a sentiment from Stampin Up inside the sign and you could use for any sentiment.
The papers are Kaiser the one with teapots in and I'm now down to scraps not sure there's enough for another card.
The swirl is MFT but I cut it in two and the flowers are the retro punch, the sketch I've used is once again the Friday Sketch.
Picked up our new car yesterday from Kia, its got all kinds of gadgets and buttons but I like the fact I can plug in my ipod but I don't think hubby appreciates my playlist!

Big Shoes

Mmmm the papers look wishy washy but they're not in real life, not sure why the camera did this. Anyway the card was made using the Cute Card Thursday sketch.
The papers are First Edition and of course the fab image is from Mo Manning called Big Shoes.
I used the Memory box dies for the branch in the corner with some punched flowers and it cried out for the corners.
It's a paperwork day, I've a few letters and parcel to sort out ready for Hubby to take to the PO tomorrow including a card for my Niece who had a baby boy on the 7th August, we found out on Saturday that he will be called Harry but his brother Elliott wasn't that impressed when we saw he at the BBQ.
We're also picking up the new car and the most important thing we need to find on the car is the window wiper switch.

Not another boat

After all that rain we had yesterday we nearly needed a boat but it did dry out a bit although it was cold so I hid out in my Sister's conservatory but everyone had a good time.
My card is once again using the Kazelkraft ship stamp and even though this is very simple it still seemed to take ages.
I've used the sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches and even though theirs is square I wanted to use the Floral Oval to make it look like a picture on a wall effect.
The yummy brads are from Stampin Up which I'm now on my second packet.
It's suppose to be a better day weather wise today but we will wait and see.

Summer Puddy Cat

Once again I'm scheduling my post since I off early tomorrow (Saturday) to my sisters's Airshow BBQ but its 10.30 and I've already sent a complaint to the Cleansing dept at the council and gave up fighting with the telephone appointment system for the doctors, pretty certain it had cut me off anyway.
I think by now you have read that Penny Black Saturday Challenge is now a monthly challenge but that doesn't mean no post from me and since this little chap was coloured in case I used him for a summer challenge and thought today he might help us have a bit of summer.
The papers are Echo Park which I made banners with and I couldn't cut the base with all those fab wave swirls. Added some MFT clouds and job done.
