Lego

I'm impressed how I'm actually using up some stickers than making my own but I did make my lego pieces. They were very fiddly but it wouldn't work without them.

The year hasn't lost its number I haven't worked out which year this was. Thinking about it could 2016 but saying that I have sneaked in a few photos from 2017 in my scrapbooking kits.

Toadstool Birthday

I was determined to properly use Sketch Saturday's Sketch which is now last weeks sketch. I used a LOTV image which I've got as digi, to be honest my hands prefer digital.

I need to apologise for a couple of dirty marks, they are actually bits of fluff from their tails which is a mixture of flower soft and fun flock.

The papers are Doodlebug, no surprise there and my flowers are those unbranded ones that I got secondhand from e-bay. Again because its on my desk the sentiment is an old Stampin Up one.

I've promised myself to make two DT cards this morning before it gets too hot but not sure if I will crochet because both Crochet Alongs, have recently release the next installments are quite big now.

Falling Mouse

My card didn't  quite turn out how I thought, the idea was sound but I think I would be better blending clouds then making them out of die. I think I will use the die to cut out some acetate to make my own cloud stencil.

It's a long time since I use a Penny Black stamp and I'm pretty sure I brought this little chap second hand.  The cloud die is My Favourite Things and the sentiment is from Simon says Stamp Messages for Everyday.

I finally finished one of my crochet projects the Seaside Winter Blanket from Zooty Owl. Will update later how far I got with Phoenix, Changing Tides and Life Inspired. Unfortunately my daughters stool cover as been put on hold for the moment at least till the Crochet Alongs finish.

Girls, Girls, Girls

I have a list of cards for a Birthday busy July and some are for female cards so I thought this cute teen card will tick off one of those card off my list. The fabulous image is from Mo Manning called Lara and Mia.

The papers are Doodlebug and the design of card started off being Sketch Saturday but due to size and the need for ribbon might the layout went it own way.

The Wonky Stitched Rectangles are from Simon says Stamp and the sentiment is an old Stamping Up one long since retired. Flowers are a unbranded die which I would love to know whose so I can give credit to them but as yet haven't been able to work out whose.

Wedding

A few weeks ago Simon says Stamp Wednesday Challenge had a Wedding/Anniversary but I had made a Wedding Card for Steph who works for Simon Says Stamp.

I used the Stamping Bella image Uptown Couple Brett and Brenda Got Married but I used the Simon says Stamp Stitched Oval so only used part of the image.

Now it was a while ago when I made the card to get to the US in time, so I can's actual remember what Simon says Stamp set the leaves on the oval come from, all I do remember it was definitely Simon says Stamp. You need a solid stamp and if I made the card again I would use the second impression of the stamp so it didn't stand out so much.

The Flickering Butterflies and the Congratulations are all Simon says Stamp that I am sure.

The papers are Carta Bella Spring Market and the little hearts are Doodlebug Heart Shape Sprinkles.

What makes you Happy

I was so pleased that one of the friends that my DS went on holiday sent me some of their pics of him and this one is a favourite. It so rare to see him smile.

Although I had sorted the papers out for the all the photos I was going to use, The Scrap Cafe had some new Kaiser papers Morning Dew. I used MFT Stitched Hexagons which I have almost covered up. I fussy cut the flowers.

The chipboard Journey was an old K&co one along with some of their stickers. I think I originally brought them from US over ten years ago.

Totally Rad

Another cute card from the Simon says Stamp Chillin' Frenchies stamp set, I cheated and made it CAS card. You can get dies for these stamps but my budget didn't go that far and as I layer my images it works better if I fussy cut them but if I need to place the image on a pattern background I will have to fussy cut a white border which is very tricky to do so the dies are on my wish list.

The totally rad sentiment comes with the Frenchies set but the awesome birthday sentiment is Simon says Stamp Tiny Words Birthday which have some brilliant Birthday sentiments. To stop my card look too plain I added some Holiday Shapes stars, it was hard not to put too many on less is more and all that.

I'm looking forward to some more warm weather, I confess that I have been checking that my heating still works rather than admit I was cold!

Pirate's life for me

Since Mo had drawn some Adult Pirates which I haven't got yet so I printed out this cute chap called Pirate Hugh but he's been updated to png file and comes with pirate stuff so you can merge it. I'm far too lazy to faff with that when Hugh is so cute.

I happened upon Sketch Saturday latest sketch and along with some palm trees paper to make the actual card. This did mean Hugh needed fussy cutting out with a bit of white border to help her show up.

To stop him floating I stood him and the rock onto the sentiment banner which I used Simon says Stamp Tiny Words Birthday.

I'm still finding hard to settle at card making and I've gone really CAS at the moment and I really need to colour up some more images.

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge
Thank you for joining us last week and we hope you will all join us again this week too.
This week the challenge is Travel/Vacation
We are showcasing Lawn Fawn this week. You don’t have to use them to join in but if you have some we would love to see them used
The lovely folks over at Simon Says Stamp are generously giving away a FABULOUS $50 voucher to shop at the  Simon Says Stamp Store! All you have to do is take out your crafty supplies, make something following this week’s prompt, and add a link in the Inlinkz at the challenge Blog. The Design Team is looking forward to seeing your crafty makes and will pop around to visit you ASAP!

Lets hope I can remember all the ingredients for this weeks card. So first I cut out a Stitched Rectangle from Simon says Stamp and used a couple of blue Oxides to make a sky and sea.

I then used the stamps from Lawn Fawn Smooth Sailing for my boats and I paper pieced them including the background paper for the sails to tie everything in. It just so happens that I had Lawn Fawn Palm Trees and Spring Showers already.

Just left a sentiment to make and I used the Simon says Stamp Tiny Words Birthday.

For my Dad

I made two of the background that I made for last weeks Celebrate card and decided to use it to make my Dad a card to take to the Crematorium for his Birthday and Father's Day.

So the background was the same Simon says Stamp Quilted Hearts Background embossed with WOW Bright White embossing powder.

I cut the flowers using Simon says Stamps Stitched Daisies the leaves are from their Forget me Knot Flower die. I used the word stamp from Simon says Stamp Moments of Grace stamps, but I can't work out which stamp set I used for the Missing You. The Birthday sentiment is from Tiny Words Birthday. All the word were place on the Stitched Oval.

Christmas Scrapbooking

Christmas 2016 done, just scrapping Harry Potter and Portsmouth Dockyard and that will be that year finished with. I've already done some of 2017 but I have two weddings and a baby shower so could be 2021 before I get that year done!

A faux pocket page with a few of the usual photos of Christmas with some Simple Stories paper. In fact its possible two packs but they both work well together.

I couldn't resist scrapbooking this cute little reindeer, again with Simple Stories. I cut the deer partly out so I could slip the photo in behind him.

The deer heads and words are Newton Nook dies and stamp. Need to work out what year this was actually because I'm not sure it was 2016.

Quick cards

Simon says Stamp very kindly sent me a stamp set from their recent release Rest and Refresh, at the time I was being ill which is sods law. I have quite a list of cards to make and I was having a hard time to play with the set.

Decided to quickly stamp a couple from Home Sweet Home to see how they looked, the first turned out fabulous and I have another idea on how to use it again but for now I made a quick Sympathy card by using Simon says Stamp Thoughtful Messages.  I stamped the sentiment and emboss with gold embossing powder.

Apologise for the rough edge obviously my blade need replacing!

The other card is this cute house, it helps to use a stamp positioner so you can stamp a couple of time to get a better print. I added a few more hearts using Simon says Stamp Holiday Shapes and I cut the house out using Simon says Stamp Stitched Squares.  The congratulations is a stamp that comes with the set which I know I will be using it again.

Picture Book Deer

I'm quite impressed with myself by not only making a Christmas card but almost following this weeks Splitcoast Stampers SC753 card sketch.

I used Simon says Stamp Picture Book Deer instead of the diamond shape and their Snowflake border die for the strip across the card.

The papers are Echo Park Celebrate Winter and I used Simon says Stamp Stitched Banners for my sentiment and to hide that my deer has no legs! The sentiment that I used comes Simon says Stamp Tiny Words Christmas.

Spit Happens

This little chap is far too cute to have spit in his title but it obviously Spit Happens means something to Mo. It's not the first time of using this adorable image but you have to be quick because he's in the retirement list. Hope Mo redux him or her, you can easily change the tshirt and bunny colours.

I've used Echo Park Hello Baby It's a Boy papers and I remember I have a set of scallop rectangles from Lawn Fawn. To be honest once I laid out the papers and layered the baby it didn't really need much else. So I used one of the sentiment rectangles in the paper pack and felt my job was pretty much done.

I had a bit of hic-cup this morning I had schedule my post earlier than I should I have done. Now that its 2pm we will have another go at posting with the details this time.

I've kept my card quite simple since thats where my craft mojo is taking me. I stamped and emboss probably one of my favourite background stamps Simon says Stamp Quilted Hearts.  I do love white on Kraft card.

I cut out another favourite and I use it a lot for scrapbooking too Simon says Stamp Clustered Leaves. I cut it in a few places to fit my card and used a leaf from Simon says Stamp Outline Clustered Leaves to hide my join.

I wanted to use a die for the sentiment and thought it was about time I used the Simon says Stamp Celebrate die which will work for Wedding and Anniversary.

Christmas Scrapbooking

I received this fabulous Christmas card last year and I simply had to make it into a layout. There are quite a few layouts on Pinterest where they have used strips and I think I used this technique before.
You simple take strips of pattern paper and lay them randomly down.

I had one piece of a paper full of Christmas words so I cut some out and evenly placed them down over the strips.

I've also told myself to use the stickers more that come in collection packs which I ticked that box here with the mittens, baubles and stars.

I had a great day yesterday at the Scrap Cafe Crop at the Bracknell Hilton, three layouts but each need a bit extra which I plan to do today rather than build up a pile of not quite finished layouts.

Chillin'

I actually made a card that didn't end in the bin and I like it too. Admittedly its very simple, the inspiration for the layout was from Splitcoast Stampers SC752.

The papers are Echo Park I love Summer and the super cute image is from Simon says Stamp Chillin' Frenchies.

Since it meant to be a mans card I settled on a single Starfish from Simon says Stamp, well it was already cut and ready to go in the die envelope so it needed to be used.

Finally finished with a double layered Happy Birthday sentiment again from Simon says Stamp.

June Crochet Update

Another month gone by and still nothing finished. I'm finish Part 4 of my Phoenix from Vanessa Hooks and Sunshine. Wool is Stylecraft Special DK.

My Changing Tides is now up to week 8, not keen of the pebbles they taking ages now but well worth. The pattern is from Coastal Crochet.

I keep forgetting to post the top of my stool cover, haven't decided on the sides yet whether to carry on doing the squares.

Also I have completed 2 and 3 parts of Life Inspired by Helen Shrimpton with Crochet Now.

Finally I'm on the border with my Seaside Winter Blanket, keeping plain with stripes of colour.

So I have lots going on but nothing completed but I'm enjoying the journey.

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge
Thank you for joining us last week and we hope you will all join us again this week too.
This week the challenge is Masculine
We are showcasing Tim Holtz this week. You don’t have to use them to join in but if you have some we would love to see them used

I'm afraid I'm late with a card for the challenge had a bout of sickness which left me feeling bleh not helpful when you need a DT card.

In the end I managed to make a really quick card, bit disappointed since I love the Tim Holtz Funny Farm

All I could manage was a rectangle of blended green ink which I placed my funny cow in the centre and slightly layered it. Added a sentiment from Simon says Stamp Its No Secret and to give a bit more interest to a boring card I added the dotty paper from My Favourite Things Black and White Dots.

Squeal

There is lots wrong with this card although I love my MFT Piggy Pebbles pig, he coloured well in flesh tones, the image mat now I look at it is bugging me. I could have made the faux stitching above and below the sentiment.

I'm pretty sure the layout is a sketch from one of my favourite CAS sketch sites unfortunately I can't remember which. The papers are also from MFT Sweet Stack.

The image mat is cut a couple dies using Simon says Stamp Stitched Rectangles.

Sorry I've been quiet, had a couple of bad days, they happen. You just have to wait till the body is ready to play in the craft room. But I do have a couple of images coloured up ready to go.
