BBQ Apron

This card as now been received it was fun to do. The apron and the BBQ tools are Honeybee Stamps and I knew just who to make it for. Since I enjoyed making it I brought the garden set that works with the apron and I found a baking set that might work too. Do wish I used some pattern paper for the glove to help it stand out more.

The dotty paper is MFT and the Birthday die is Creative Expression.

I have two cards in my drafts both waiting for them to be received and I still have a couple Birthday cards to make then I’m going to start on Christmas, a bit late for Christmas in July but I really need to get a start with them.

Smell the Flowers

Another clean and simple card but this time with a Mo image that I received through Mo’s Patreon.

The paper is is MFT and the curved with holes die from Simon says Stamp.

For Tim

I made this card a few weeks ago while it waited to be sent. I've used the image from Dr Digi called Mr Hoppy. I actually cut round the image to leave a white border since I knew I would be putting on pattern paper and the white edge helps it stand out.

I think the grass die and fence are both old MFT dies, the clouds are Memory Box Puffy Clouds and the sentiment is Simon says Stamps  also the stitched banner die.

No idea who makes the pattern paper since they are both scraps. Nearly forgot a bit of glossy accents to make the lens in his glasses.

Hubby's Card

Finally got round to posting Hubby's card, I hate to say it I think I've use Mo's He's Still Got it  before all it could be that all the men folk in the family have received a similar card.

The papers are some old Basic Grey, just a few scraps but pleased I manage to use them for this card. No else make scrap paper like them so sad that they are no more.

I used the largest Simon says Stamp Stitched Oval but I drew round it with a  pen and  fussy cut round on the outside of the line in a contrast colour. The sentiment is a Simon says Stamp Happy Birthday die  layered twice.

The musical notes are an old die from MFT which again I've layered twice to give more depth.

I planned to make some Christmas Cards this week managed a couple but I just stared at stuff Mr Mojo as a lot to answer for.

Skater Dude

Now and again while I'm in blogger dashboard I click on drafts to make sure I've posted everything. This time I discovered Skater Dude from Dr Digi hiding in them.

The papers are Doodlebug, I think possibly Dragon's Tail but don't hold me to that. The large sentiment stamp is from Simon says Stamps Big Birthday Wishes and the image mat is using their Wonky Frame.

The stars are mixture of Simon Says Stamp Bundle of Stitched Shapes and MFT dies. I have several number dies so not sure which ones I used here and the today die is from a random die manufacture that I brought at a craft show can't remember who.

Cheers

Yet another Man's card needed, he's actually named Dwarf 6 in Mo's shop but he does remind me of a Viking.

The papers are Dragon's Tail by Doodlebug and I blew the dust of my Spellbinder Circle dies for the image and the sentiment is cut from the actually pattern paper.

The only embellishment I used was the Simon Says Stamp Cheers die, the papers are so busy and there wasn't much space, plus its a man's card and we all know how tricky they are.

He's Still Got It

June is definitely a man's month and I have a few cards to be made this month. I decided to use Mo's He's Still Got It. Believe or not the patterned paper is Christmas paper, I did check whether I liked what was on the the other side before using.

The sketch I used is a Splitcoast Stampers SC699 I just turned it to suit my image. The musical note are an old MFT die which is so old its probably retired. The sentiment is Simon Says Stamp Happy Birthday die, I didn't use the Happy part but stamped Wishes from Simon says Stamp Thoughtful Messages.

My fishtail banner is made using a square punch, you only use one of the corners.

I'm off to the Scrap Cafe Crop this weekend, I missed last months so look forward to catching up and maybe do some scrapbooking or I may do some colouring for card making haven't decided yet. Its at the Bracknell Hilton and its not really just for scrapbooking some of us card make too.

Gone Fishing

Last week I used the Art Impression Reel Great Guys but I also made this card too. I first used the Simon Says Stamp Waves Stencil to make something my image could float on and then I used Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles.

The gone fishing sentiment is in the Art Impressions Stamp set along with the images I've used. Finally I added the Simon Says Stamps Happy Birthday die, the happy was used with a Simon Says Stamp set but I can't quite work out which one.

When I saw we were showcasing Art Impressions for this weeks Simon says Stamp Wednesday Challenge I knew I had a few stamps already but hey when there's an excuse to buy another. I decided to buy the fishing clear stamp set called Reel Great Guys.

The image itself is quite large and I used the Simon says Stamp Stitched Rectangles for around the image. The patterned paper I've used is Echo Park Perfect Autumn and I used the Simon says Stamp Stitched Banners to make the collection of tags under the image. I didn't use the whole banner just a bit at the fishtail end.

Here's the crooked front image of my card.

For Brian

I found this card in my drafts in fact when I search for drafts, I found quite a few photo posts with cards. This is an Art Impression and was made for my Brother in law, who plays golf.

There was a lot of layering and the papers are some old Echo Park that needed using up. The grass and fence are both from MFT and I used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Squares.

The sentiment is the one off my desk that as seen better days. I used a Stampin Up banner punch for the fish tail banner, I believe Stampin Up in their wisdom have retired it but I used it constantly for the making these banner.

I need to give myself a bit of kick up the bum to schedule my post more often and make cards.

Hope I can remember what I used for this card I made it before Christmas with my DT parcel of new goodies. I decided to get the Hero Art Layering Bengal Tigers, I thought they would make a good male card. I believe there is a die but I just brought the stamps since the tigers looked easy to fussy cut out.

As most of you know I'm pretty lazy and it just so happens that I had some thin cardstock that I had already smooched some Distress Oxides in Wild Honey, Spiced and Fossilized Amber. So I used the stamps to stamp the tigers. Once cut out I used the Distress Markers in Pumice Stone round the edges I find it hides the white core.

It was then I had to think of what to do with my tigers so once again I got the Distress Oxides out and made the scene and using the grass stamps that came with the tigers I stamped some grass.

To finish I used the Simon Says Stamp Painted Happy Birthday die but just choose the one word and stamp the Happy  using Simon Says Stamp Happy stamp set.

Feed the birds

Another quick card, well the card itself was quick, the colouring, fussy cutting and layering still took normal time but I simply didn't have time last week to move paper several times. Found a suitable sketch on Pinterest and knew I was going to use the Memory Box Gulls die.

Sentiment was tricky is didn't stamp direct to paper well so thats why I've a circle punch and banner sentiment, its hiding pants stamping. At least it give a bit more interest.

The fabulous image is from Mo Manning called Pigeons it makes a great mans card, so thats hubby's card done.

On My Shoulders

It was one of my brother's Birthday this week and I know he dotes on his Grandchildren so I thought this fabulous image from Mo Manning called Shoulders Boy S would work.

The papers are Echo Park not sure on the name of them now but I don't think it recent. I just so happened to have a left over cog corner from Tim Holtz cogs dies so I thought I would use it them I felt it needed some on the right top corner so I cut another one anyway. This was was chopped up a bit to suit my card.

I cut some extra single ones to randomly place, I discovered that some of the dies cut perfect little circles that look like faux brads so I decided to use them. They were a bit fiddly to stick more glue on my fingers sometimes. The sentiment it my favourite one that sits on my desk and I cut the letters out of a die, I think they are Memory Box ones.

Birthday Banners

This is the second photo of my card because as I uploaded this card to my blog I realised the placement of the banners didn't quite work. You can see why in the first photo below.

Luckily I was to swap the banners but just goes to show how important colours and placement is to your card.

The actual card was using the large numbers stamps and dies from Stamping up, it also came with the sentiment. The banners are made with Simon Say stamp Banner die from their Bundle of Shapes and I used their Stitched Rectangles as well.

The stars are a punch which if it continues to misbehave will find itself in the bin!

My All Day Crop on Saturday went well and in the end I managed four layouts, three still needed some tweaks but I did that on Sunday. It was things like adding pearls and letters that I knew I left at home. Now I need to get down and make some cards.

Belated Birthday

I brought this image from Dr Digi especially for a chap who plays Ice Hockey I wasn't sure when hes birthday was so in the end I missed the actually day  and then he had to wait a bit for glue to dry properly.

Yes its Doodlebug paper and the stars are MFT and Simon Says Stamp. The Birthday is part of Simon Says Stamp die thats been cut out of glitter card and I had to computer generated the first part of the sentiment. Thats been remedied laterly with some belated birthday greetings.

The mini heatwave we are having in the UK is having a effect on my crafting its far too hot and finding the days I can craft some crops up that I have to flat sit like today. Fingers crossed for tomorrow.

King for the Day

Ok I've had enough of mens card, I pretty certain I still have some to make but they will have to take a back seat, trying to work out embellisments is making my brain hurt.

I haven't used Mo's King for the Day for ages, love paper piecing the chair. I used the Stitched curve from MFT and the stars are a combination of MFT and Simon Says Stamp Bundle of Shapes. The papers are My Minds Eye and the sentiment is the one on my desk that lives there permanently.

Big Guy Golfer

I'm still struggling on with my men cards and with time, so a CAS with Mo's image of Big Guy Golfing is the answer for the moment.

The sketch was this weeks Mojo Monday when I realised that the fish tail banners are suppose to under the patterned paper mat. There was me thinking I could enter a challenge before it ran out.

The letters are a Memory Box alphabet die set and the stamped you is an old Simon Says Stamp not sure if its still available. I also used Simon Says stamp Stitched Rectangle give a simple card some interest round the large main image mat.

I'll like say I'm done with men cards but I think I still have a few more to do, plus this year is all about Wedding and Babies. There is a even more important card I must do, A New Home. Finally my DD has exchanged contracts, although will still have her under our roof, while she and her Dad decorate and I'll supervise.

Quick Mens Card

Blasted mens card it seems I'm always making them and we all know how easy they are NOT. I saw a card on Pinterest and this is my version of it.

I used the Simon says Stamp Stitched Scallop Borders for both my bits of Doodlebug paper. Stamped the sentiment directly to the card where I thought it should go. Trim the card a bit smaller than the card to give my card a white edge.

I think the stars are from MFT and Simon Says Stamp Bundle of Shapes star die. It was a quick card and easy to do

Grumpy Skater

I need quite a few mens cards just for myself to send and I'll be honest I'm not keen on making them. Not even sure this one works although I love the image from Dr Digi who make brilliant men images.
Oops I've just noticed a bit of leftovers from die is sitting on my sentiment, trust me its not there now.

The papers are really, really old and I made the frame using my Simon Says stamp Stitched Rectangles but added a red mount to help it pop. The stars are Simon Says Stamp and you noticed I've used their Stitched fishtail banner, yes you guessed it didn't stamp well and it had to be replaced. The other sentiment is from Stampin Up seemed perfect for the image.

I getting a bit cheesed off with my health at the moment I seemed be suffering from minor aliments one after the other.

Beer Dwarf

So I needed a card for my BIL who is known as Grumpy and he does love a drop of beer, so this image called Dwarf 6 from Mo Manning was perfect.

He was a bit of a devil to layer, so parts had to have part tucked under another layer but part still had to be on top but in the end he was worth it. Once the layered were dry I used a silver pen for the diamonds on his wrist bands. When that was dry with a cocktail stick and glossy accents I added a drop into each diamond to give them a realistic look.

The papers are some very old ones, some people who have been scrapbooking many years will recognise Basic Grey I think they were called Vagabond. I brought the beer die from Ally Pally and used a white pen and a gold pen to make my label.

I used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Frames with the MFT Stitched Stars to decorate. The sentiment is one that is left on my desk using the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Banners. Since its a mans card that was pretty much it.
