We are showcasing Paper Smooches Products this week. You don't have to use them to join in but if you have some we would love to see them used :-)

50dollar_voucher_600px

I had to have and use the Dog Icon die but I see I'm not alone and its out of stock at the moment but I'm sure in will be replenished soon. The first card I've used some American Crafts and I used a Spellbinder circle for my cut out and using the Friendship Circle stamps for the absolutely perfect sentiment.
When you cut the paws out don't throw the waste away use it as a template to lay out the parts of the paws.

It was simple I had to use the dog house and I just used Simple Stories Say Cheese papers. The sentiment is computer generated. Then I used the MFT Fence and Grass dies.

Finally my last card is using a Paper Smooches Chubby Chums with the dog house die, I stamped on Kraft card since it suited the Simple Stories Say Cheese paper and gave me a doggy colour without have to do any colouring but I paper pieced the eyes. It just so happened the Friendship Circle Stamps also have this sentiment too which also worked a treat. Oh the bones were a die with the Dog Icon.

There are fabulous Give Aways and inspiration from fabulous designers on a daily basis over on the Simon Says Stamp Blog ,,,if you haven't subscribed by email you may want to so you don't miss out :-)

Zig and Zagging

A couple of weeks ago I had posted a card with chevrons feather but after the feathers were cut out I had a bit left. Since it was a bit fiddly to do I wasn't going to waste it, so I made a scallop frame for the it.
The cut out the Simon Says Stamps Pointed feathers die in the matching colours. Simply finished with a sentiment and since I'm still loving the Perfect Love set from Simon Says Stamps it was an easy choice.

See you at 2pm with a new challenge.

Looking for Mo's Blog Hop Post you will find it here

Sooooo Cute

Scrapbooking page number 2 and using a combination of a couple of sketchs from Pinterest this is the finished result but I do have to thank a friend for the main title.
The papers are Echo Park some boys ones not sure what they're called and I paper pierced each square but really they wanted to be sewn but it was bad enough finding space for the Cricut, there was no room to get the sewing machine out.
The leaves are a combination of Memory Box and Poppystamps dies. I hunted for some blue alphabet stickers which I knew I had but in the end I used a set of Memory Box dies. I've since found out his date of birth and that has now been put on the page.
My aeroplanes are from Simon Says Stamps Exclusive dies, made my friend laugh when I said whatever happens they're going on my page.

Ship Ahoy

It's time for a new sketch on Everybody Art Challenge and this week its a sketch. To be honest I wasn't sure about the sketch but once I layered the card with my image it worked out a treat.
The papers are are Echo Park or Carta Bella and of course my little chap is from Mo Manning from the Sailor Boys set.
Instead of buttons I used the Memory Box Anchor die and the CC Designs Balloons die but with the balloons I added the twine an knots to make it look more interesting but it didn't really work.
I very sneakily missed out the triangle cos nothing I put there worked probably cos the papers are quite busy.

Do hope you can join us this week, don't forget to pop over and check out the team.

Broked

Saved once again by one of Mo Manning adorable images this time she is called Broked, I've got the sentiments as well but I was a stamp set was sitting next to me with this sentiment on it and it seemed wrong not to use.
I've used the Sweet Sketch Wednesday sketch but when I realised the organza ribbon looked OK but you couldn't see it that well and that I could of coloured the ribbon red with inks or pens I kinda lost the plot. No I couldn't take the ribbon off I had stuck it down with glue that wasn't going to budge.
I like the flowers using the old EK success punch but the centre is in a die I found in the bottom of die storage box and who it belongs to I'm not sure but its in a safe place now.

The most exciting thing happening today is that I've got to clean up the PC since its running slow again.

Monster Love

I think it was last week the Freshly Made Sketch that I used finished but since I use sketches to inspire me I still decided to use it for my little Valentine monster from the January Kit from Simon Say Stamps. I'll be honest I didn't see the point of him and didn't fancy colouring him. Then I saw a card with him paper pieced and thought he didn't look so bad in fact rather cute.
So thats what I did but I wanted to use googly eyes, now I know where the pot lives in my craftroom but thats now been stripped out completely now, could I find it, no I looked everywhere. So I had to settle for cutting them out. (Of course I've now found where they are and in fact they were under my nose lets hope I remember for next time).
The amazing sentiment comes with it the stamp set in the kit.
Sorry I'm a bit late this morning and a really simple card its almost if I cheated everyone. I did have a successful day at the crop with the 3 single layouts completed and one just needs something to finish it.

Heart Pants

I've had to schedule today's post because I shall be off to my Sister's at silly o'clock to travel to MJ's All Days Crop. I'm expecting a lovely time especially has MJ adds the cost of elevenses, a hot lunch and bit of tea in price so no worries about taking food and she always gets too much so pretty to nibble on throughout the day.
So onto my CAS card even though with all the dots and flowers it does look a bit busy. Now my cute little Hedgie is called Hot Pants.
The papers are First Edition no idea which pack the front page has long disappeared and I've used a couple of heart dies, once to cut out the matching paper and another to draw round.
Rather than using a Valentine sentiment I found a generic For You so this card could be used for a Birthday.

Finger crossed Mr Blogger behaves and publishes this page and let hope I don't have a senior moment and forget to publish, done that before now.

Shark

I'm not convinced I like this card it does look better in RL, the sketch is Sketch Saturday. Not sure now on the papers possibly American Craft or Pebbles, saw the anchors and decided to use it.
My shark is a Whipper Snapper stamp that I've had for ages and even though it doesn't show up there's glossy accents on his glasses.
The only embellishments is my Memory Box Anchor die and the carefully cut chervon paper for fish tail banner.
I'm off swimming with the disabled club this morning and then I need to sort my bag ready for the crop tomorrow so I should get some more layouts done to reach my 52 target.

One Layer Heart

Yuck its one layer week on Less is More and I've spent the last few days thinking what to do, all were scrapped because I there was alway something to layer.

In my head I knew I had to have a heart template, maybe do something inside but most was messy (embossing paste) or had too many things that could go wrong and I didn't have time for that.

Goodness were the lightbulb moment came from but I suddenly thought of my favourite Hero Art stamp.
I cut the heart out using the cricut, basically used the waste and stamped in the middle. Blended some ink round it to give the heart definition, although don't look too close had a bit of issue but was running out of time to do it all again.

To finish the Perfect Love set from Simon Says Stamps, I'm almost impress with myself.

Distressing

Gosh it feel like ages ago that we had our last blog hop but here we are with the first BLOG HOP of 2014

It Danielle whose chosen the theme this month and I didn't get distressed over this card well apart for thinking the hop was next week. I just roughed up the edges and inked everything including the image mat so it would work with the old Stampin Up papers.
I thought the image To Grammys would work perfectly for this theme and I was right. The border round the image mat is MFT Crochet Border and I used their swirl die but cut it up to fit round the image. I didn't add flowers since it was quite busy already.

Now you should jumped over to me from Julie and now you need to HOP SKIP and JUMP to Heidy. Don't forget to comment on the way there are two vouchers on offer.

Sending Happy Mail

wed-newchallenge-header

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge
Thank you for joining us for the  Ice Inspiration Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too :-)
We will be back soon with the name of the lucky winner of the  $50 Voucher !! :-)
This week the challenge is

EMBOSS IT

Dry Emboss, Heat Emboss or use Embossing Paste :-)
We are showcasing Embossing Folders this week. You don't have to use them to join in but if you have some we would love to see them used :-)
As always Simon Says Stamp will be giving away $50 voucher to shop at the fabulous Simon Says Stamp Store!
50dollar_voucher_600px

Onto my card I was pleased how it turned out the papers are Smitten by Authentique and of course the little darling of an image is Pure Innocence Happy Mail from MFT.
To start with I cute the stamped image mat to the size I wanted and then run it through the Bricked embossing folder so I would have a brick wall behind my image. Then lightly blended some ink over the it so that the bricks would show up more.
I'm pretty sure I cut the Lavish Branch from Memory Box to fit how I wanted and the flowers are a combination of the tiny flower from Flower Friend and the tiny centre from Bella Bloom.
The fishtail banner using one of the sentiments from the image stamp set.
The I layered the image so you couldn't see the embossing on the image and there's something about Pure Innocence that says paper piece me so that what I did. I also carefully stamped pockets of her dress on a contrast piece of paper so I could get the hearts in the centre of the pockets.

Vellum Leaves

In the January kit from Simon Say Stamps there a bit of lovely pink card and vellum, since I have used vellum for ages I thought I'll have a play with that. Although the idea I had didn't work my hands weren't up to the challenge but I draw vein lines in the leaves using a small embossing too.
I also chopped up the large cluster leaves die so I could layer it in the direction I wanted. One of the things with Vellum is almost transparent and it picks up the colour from underneath.
I bow to hide the ends of the die and the sentiment is from Perfect Love sentiment set have I told you I absolute love this set.

See you at 2pm with a new challenge.

Sun/Shade

So one of my resolutions this year is to Scrapbook more and plan to make a layout a week. That makes 52 layouts so last weekend I managed to make two. I have sorted some photos out and matched papers and cardstock in a baggie so time wasn't wasted trying to match up.
The idea of this layout was one to show how different my two are and to use that sun die from Simon Says Stamps.
I was impress with the photos of my Son sunbathing since it was using the zoom on Hubby's camera and then cropped.
The papers are an old set of Crate Paper,  the fence is MFT die and the grass is from Magnolia. The tall grass is a new die from Memory box supposedly bamboo. Letters cut from the Cricut and some stickers.
So this is layout 1.

Snow!!!!!!

I know, I know you put all the Christmas Crafty stuff away and quite a few of the challenge pop up with Snow and including the new challenge for Everybody Art Challenge. Honestly did I really have much of problem not really.
The adorable image from Mo Manning called Snow Day which is on my PC and the papers are LOTV while a Christmas pack I hadn't put away yet cos there some nice papers that would work for boy baby cards.
All my die are kept together including the Christmas ones so the border is from Memory Box, along with the corner. The snowflakes are Simon Says Stamps and the small one MFT.
Apart from the snowflake which has a pearl in the middle all of the other are made with Liquid Pearls.
Sentiment is PC generated just to prove snowflakes are not just for Christmas.

Do pop over to check out the team and hope you can join us this week.

Blue Monday

I do love images with hats not sure why cos sometimes they are a headache to layer but Adele from Mo Manning wasn't that difficult.
The papers are a First Edition pack but not sure which and the sketch is from Friday Sketch Challenge. For change I used another favourite memory box die Fresh Foliage with MFT Upsy Daisies dies along with the Crochet Border die. That pretty much all I've used just a bit of ribbon to finish.

Hopefully now that my Favourite Five has finished and I managed to visit everyone I can now catch up with the lastest blogs.

In the Pink

edited another photo
I actually had time to play with the Simon Says Stamps January Kit along with the new Valentines release. The first card is actually using the sketch from Splitcoast Stampers SC469 I actually love how it turned out. I class this as a CAS and instead of my more traditional approach this is a bit more abstract although I still had to mat and layer the main mat some things I just can't change.
I've used a paper doily which I had for ages and rarely use the Small Heart Doily die and the little outline die comes with it, the small die is the waste from it.
The sentiment is of course Simon Says Stamps Perfect Love set and I really do love it.
The biggest problem was finding my brad bag that holds all my brads and odds and sods, I knew where it was in my craftroom but I'm not in there now and the only person who would know would be me!!!!!
I was determined to find it and the brad I've had for ages in my stash.

When I order dies I must remember to check out the size you can see the Thanks die is large. I've seen cards with this kind of design so I had a go using the some patterned paper out of the kit. The MFT crochet border die I had already cut out but didn't use. Then I didn't like it much so I place some paper in the other corner only to find I had to cut another border cos I didn't have enough.

Not overly impressed with my photo skills the first card seems too light. I will be back later with the winner of the Favourite Five of 2013.
