WINTER INSPIRATION

What a wonderful Inspiration Board that my team-mate Jenn made for the challenge, pretty much covers nearly everything.
I knew I wanted to use the Forest Friends which is a Penny Black Cling and I was really pleased to find that I could fit their heads in the Simon Say Stamp Holiday Frame which I cut out twice and stuck together.
The background was also made using a Penny Black stamp Festive Florals, I used the mistletoe one.
I stamped with Versamark and embossed with white embossing powder.
Then watercoloured the leaves with a very pale green, not sure the camera picked up all the colour.
The berries were made using Ranger White Opal Liquid pearls, I did think to used flat backed pearls but they overpowered my card and I wanted the deer to be the main focus.

Post Box

The challenge on Less is More is for Snow and one layer, now I thought I might be pushing my luck with my flowersoft and fun flock. Then I realised I actually used a large stitched die and stuck it onto a card, which to be honest its what I usually do since a lot of my LIM cards end up in the bin and this way I don't waste so much card.
So although my postbox from Molly Blooms Stamps (not sure they are still available) is one layer I'm not sure the whole card would count or am I splitting hairs.

Frame

Time for the last challenge of 2014 for Everybody Art Challenge, this week its for a Frame. I decided to use  a Spellbinders frame that when it arrived I realised that it was larger than I expected.
But then I thought about using it for an ornament. I cut it twice but one of them I drew round the inside and used my craft knife to remove the centre but I used this to cut out the houses.
I haven't used this Dee Distinctly tree die this year so I thought I better use it but I cut out the large one and decided it was too big so this is the smaller one.
I then cut out the Memory box stars and added glitter to them but I only used glitter on these stars so they will stand out among the other stars.
Added a sentiment since there was some white space and I was at a lost to think of what I could put there.
Of course the most tricky part of this ornament was trying to find a place where I could hang it and have good light to photo it.

Angel

This little LOTV angel has been waiting for a while to be made in card and I've kept her quite simple.
The papers are LOTV and all I added was some Martha Stewart Holly with some red pearls.
I promise the twine is straight its the photographer at fault here.
Well the presents have been wrapped, cards almost all posted and the tree is up now need to get the rest of house tidy and ready for Christmas. The turkey is in the freezer just got to remember to get him out and Aunt Bessie is at the ready for the roasties. I think we are nearly there.

Lady in Red

My last Winter Wedding Card although this was my CAS type of card, I just used a new Spellbinders frame that arrived in my craftroom. The image is a old Saturated Canary which unfortunately is not available but she is a favourite of mine.
Since its a winter theme I've added the bit of holly to the Whiff of Joy sentiment. I added it to the red card and that was basically it. I must say I was surprised DD picked this one although it does look better in RL.
For a better photo I possibly should have double layered the frame so it show up a bit better but that would have be a bit fiddly and bit too much for my Big Shot.

Mojo Hedgie

I'm sorry more CAS Christmas and a wonky picture too but at least its a Penny Black. I found this in my postbox, Ok it came in a parcel with other things that I may have ordered!
I saw the sketch on Mojo Monday and thought that this would work since Hedgie has already been on the Quality Street and had to go out for a new tin.
Although you can't see it there are valleys of snow using Spellbinders curved border but because I had to straighten it in photo shop, I lose a bit quality which doesn't help my poor Hedgie who looks floating because you can't see what he standing by.
The stars are Memory Box and the Merry and stamped sentiment are Simon Says Stamps.
Well the tree is finally up just have to put my daughters very large box of Disney ornaments but was shattered by the time we have put up lights in the window and put out all the santa, also I've a few Disney ornaments too.
Apologies also to everyone who usually received comments from Me if you have a pop up comment box which everyone (me included) prefer, I'm sometimes having issues commenting, like it won't let me type anything. But it doesn't happen everytime and its not the same blogs but very random.

Better Together

There's a new release over on Simon Says Stamp ready for the New Year its called a Better Life.

Now I was lucky to receive a stamp set but unfortunately it arrived has we left for shopping yesterday. So first thing this morning I quickly made up a card. Boy its was quick
First I cut out the Woodland Frame and then took the middle to stamp my little scene using Make a Home stamp set. Loved using the stepping stone to ground my tree and originally was only going to have two birds but there was a space that annoyed me so I stamped another.
Layered the card on a white mat onto a white card like the sketch on Splitcoast Stampers SC 518 and then added the Thank You sentiment ready for after Christmas using Handwritten Greetings.
Not bad for a quick card left an awful mess on my desk to clear up though. Check out the DTs blogs for more updates using the fabulous new products.

Less is More

I was determined to join in this week with Less is More especially has I missed their 200th challenge. The challenge is a coloured one so I grabbed what colours I had and made strips.
I used the Simon Say Stamp Bundle of shapes to cut out the white mat then cut out their Alexis Snowflake.
I took put the middle back into the snowflake to give it more shape.
Found the snowflake sequins well at least they call them winter flurries so I'm guessing they are snowflake.
To finish Merry Christmas from the Be Joyful set again Simon Says stamp well its on my desk on lined up on the acylic block seemed silly not to use.
Not very original but at least I like.

CAS(E) this sketch

I need some quick Christmas cards since I've received some not on my list, Hubby says he needs a couple more and DD has asked if I have some spare. 

First off I thought I will use the Stitched dies that I brought from Simon Say Stamps these are the rectangle ones.

My first card I realised I used Linen card and therefore the stamping idea had to be shelved because its a bit and miss with a texture card but I wasn't going to bin it. So I used Simon Says Stamps Alexis Snowflake and Maryann snowflake twice for each snowflake.

I then used the Let is Snow from Penny Black Joyous Wishes and yes I used it twice which all help for it to pop out of a white background.

Here's my bit of failure I tried to burnish the stamped and embossed Snowflakes which is Simon Says Stamps Lots of Snowflakes but I rubbed too hard and took off some of the colour. The sentiment I used the Be Joyful set.
Both cards I've used the sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch and if I'm quick there may still be time to enter

Bling It On

Reverse psychology obviously works because I having a break from DT work and what did I want to do but make a card for Simon Says Stamps Wednesday Challenge. Although I would be to late to add to the challenge blog having had to flower soft and fun flock this morning.

The Challenge is to Bling it Up and in case of the DT we had to use Kaisier products so I used Telegraph Road paper pack which is not a Christmas pack but I stamped the Simon Says Stamps Lots of Snowflakes on one of the sheets.

The cute image is a Penny Black Stamp Little Elf Kit and I have added loads of Doodlebug Glitter for the star.

The Picket Fence and the Grass die are both from My Favourite Things and I added glitter to both of them although the fence just has its on their tips.
My image and sentiment are both inside a Stately Circle from Spellbinders and to finish I used a Rylynn snowflake.

I might not have been making cards but I had to make tags. My first one was the the card shape, I do prefer these because I put a bit of double sided tape on the back and they seem less likely to fall off. Here I used the trees from Be Joyful stamps and I used the Stitched Square wafer and stuck on a small card shape.
The second made like a proper tag of stripes of Christmas patterns I used Simon Says Stamp Be Joyful and Present and Ornaments sets.

The last pair was quickly made for my DD who need two and it just so happened I had a couple of Lawn Fawn Penquins left over from a card. I used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Slopes and Hills which one layered over each other I then used the Stitched Square die over it all so that I got the stitched all round the square including over the stitched snow mounds.
You may have realised I have no card for the new Everybody Art Challenge thats because I'm taking a break this week to take the pressure off but if you pop over to the challenge you will see its Sketch week.
Also I have had really issues commenting on peoples blog. I use Bloglovin and open several blogs at a time and then discover those with pop up comment blogs sometimes Mr Blogger won't let me comment,  mine included so I have now embedded comments my blog.
I may also started a bit of panic over the fact I don't have word verification, again if you have pop up comments you will discovered that some of you now have it even if you settings say you don't. I believe this is a Chrome and Mr Blogger hiccup. One of my DT team-mates has found out if you don't have the word verification settings and it appearson your comment page you don't have to use it to comment.
I pleased to say I made two cards yesterday, well they still have to glitterzise had to wait till the glue dried, fingers crossed and couple more today.

Winter Bride

Now that the wedding has taken place I can now show my Winter Bride card for one of my DD friends who from the the photos taken looked absolutely lovely and I'm so glad she had a perfect day.
My bride is from Mo Manning its actually called the Other Bride, you can make out the glitter on her bodice and the swirly bits on her skirt of the dress, as well as a bit on the veil. For me to layer she had to be quite large but I managed to cope with this using mainly white details.
My favourite bit of lace and white ribbon for the border and I've used the embossing Bricked from Sizzix but cut it out for some random bit. The frame is Spellbinders and I used the Holly die from Penny Black, topped with Simon Says Stamps Poinsettia. Just a touch of red to help hightlight the bride and the sentiment from Whiff of Joy.
I have to apologise for the photo the lighting was bad when I took it and the large card was difficult to photo standing up so I laid on the floor to take it.
I'm shattered but somehow relieved that all the jobs I wanted done before we left but MIL is in a bit of pickle and hopefully some help with be sorted out soon. Not sure if I've already mentioned it but my Mum is back in her Care home which is also a relief.

More Snowflakes

So when Mr Mojo has gone away to find a warmer climate the best thing to do is to grab your favourite stamps which at the moment is the Simon Says Stamps Lots of Snowflakes and Bundles of Stitched Shapes and just stamp. Of course it helps that I love the white that the Bright White WOW embossing powders make.

The first one I've used the Rylynn Snowflake die, I wasn't going to bother with anything else and my DD remarked it needed a sentiment but I didn't want to hide my snowflakes. So I cut out twice Let it Snow from Penny Black Joyous Wishes and inked it slightly to help it show up more.

It is amazing that somehow my sentiment stripe is crooked so I went and checked with a ruler and its a mm out surely that can't make it look that bad. Anyway this was made the same as above but have used the sentiment from the Be Joyful set and the scallops are MFT.

Snowflakes

So we are onto the last Penny Black Saturday Challenge and its for Snowflakes. Unfortunately Mr Mojo and Mr Time has made it difficult to make cards and I've made a very simple card.
Of course my little snowman is Snowy and his coloured to match the Doodlebug papers and don't you love that Penny Black sentiment.
My Snowflakes are from Simon Says Stamps but I've layered them twice to help them pop out of white card.
Lots of flower soft and fun flock for Snowy's hat and some Stickles to help ground him, few pearls job done.

Favourite Five

Yes I am going to do My Favourite Five Christmas and My Favourite Five of 2014 again this year. There's not many rules they have to be handmade and don't necessary have to be cards, some people do their favourite for each month thats fine by me too. If you can't decide on a final five I can even stretch to a few more.
On Christmas Eve I will put up My Favourite Five Christmas Cards and the candy is a Christmas one for a random entry.

Then on 30th December I will have My Favourite Five of 2014 again same rules as above and this will be kept open till the 7th January so plenty of time to enter. Again I have another candy for that one to for a random winner. There will be some ribbon which I will sort out before I post.
I will do my utmost to comment on everyones blog but it may take a few days to get round to everyone. I apologise for not having a fancy blinkie because I simply haven't had time to work out how to make one.

Santa

Another really quick card, first off I used the Simon Says Stamps Bundle of Stitched Shapes, this makes the card small than our A5 cards but for CAS I don't think this a problem and it fits fine in a c6 envelope.
My Santa is from Sassy Cheryl, he was left over from last year but I he such a fab image I should use him more often.
I literally stamped the sentiment from the Be Joyful set from Simon Says Stamp and added some sequins.
I had to wait for the silcone glue to dry before added the Flower soft and Fun flock mixture to his hat.
I didn't quite get sequins but getting used to using them  now so that means they will be going out of fashion soon.

DieCember

Simon Says Stamps are celebrating December with a DieCember event releasing lots of new dies. They sent me one to use so I could join in but what no-one realised is that at the Post Sorting Office last year Santa brought them a Big Shot and I reckon they've been playing with my die!
Anyway it came yesterday and I got down to playing with it. I needed to make something quick so what better than a white on white card.
So my new die is the Woodland Rectangle and next time I would put the centre back while sticking to keep its shape better, its quite delicate when its cut out. Of course I had to decorate it with my favourite Poinsettia Parade, love that they are small card size. I had planned to add two small ones but thought it worked really well on its own.
The sentiment is another Simon Says Stamp stamp set called Big Holiday Wishes from last year. To finish off I used the My Favourite Things Fancy Flourish, I cut it so I could please at either size of my flower.
And guess what I like it.

Crochet

I actually pulled out of this weeks Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge, I made another awful card even when I tried to rescue it I think I only made it worse. Then I found the main image wasn't actually in the shop and I've two of the same stamp so where did I get them from!
Anyway I've decided to take a break for a week, no DT cards so no pressure, I did managed to make a couple of tags and a couple of cards that I haven't photo yet but they basically using some favourite stamps in a way you seen before.
But there's no way I can do nothing so I got a wool bundle from Deramores and making Granny Squares the wools nearly all gone so just need to join them up and make a border.

I follow Attic24 and she is doing a crochet throw/blanket and you can join her each week with up dates. The kit for the blanket is on the Wool Warehouse and you get 15 balls of Stylecraft wool for £25 I didn't think this was too bad. 

The best thing I absolutely love the colours but I won't be doing the blanket its crochet in one piece and eventually will be too heavy for me but wonderful granny squares it will make. And it comes in this netting bag which will come in handy too. Not sure I can convince Hubby I need to take it to MIL for the weekend so will have to choose just a few.

White Bells

The new challenge on Everybody Art Challenge is to see Bells on your card. This wasn't my original card, that one turned out to be another wart, I seemed to be making quite a lot of them at the moment. So I grabbed all my favourite dies that I like to use on white and I made this white card instead. This one turned out OK.

I used Tim Holtz from Sizzix Bricked folder, the Spellbinders Regal Frame and to decorate my favourite Holly die from Penny Black, favourite poinseittias from Simon Says Stamps Poinsettia Parade. The Bells are from Memory Box and my sentiment is from Simon Says Stamps including the Mum die.

The Mum die was an after thought since I thought I would give this one to my MIL.
