One of the worst things posting my blog in the mornings is that I'm not really a morning person and I often forget what I'm suppose to be posting and this morning is no exception, its Wednesday and its a new Simon Says Challenge, we're changing it to a weekly challenge so maybe that will help me to remember. The new challenge is something for One for the Boys, there are some fabulous creations so do pop over for a look. This is my challenge card, do love the Simon Says Stamps frogs and if you have one frog why not have a few, add some wobbly eyes and place them on a spinning circle. The papers are BG Lime Rickey and the tab is a stampin up punch. Wednesday, May 13, 2009

I need a New Home card and I decided on using this stamp from dream2stamp love how the ribbon works for W, I've used the DCWV latte pack but its photo a bit dark, I used Friday Sketchers #51 but the image is a bit large and hides must of the details. At least it look OK in real life.I had hoped I would have recovered from the weekend by now but struggling a bit at the moment which is typical when I've some deadlines coming up soon.

A couple of Gems
I must have photo this about a dozen times and still her face looks wishy washy which of course it isn't in real life. Shame really cos I love these Country Cousins from Sugar Nellie. The papers are BG Wisteria and there's a fab sketch from Marlene on the Sugar Bowl, the hearts are buttons and the the ribbon belongs to DD I had to raid her stash cos I couldn't find any. I want to put a flower in the top left corner but the papers and sketch are quite busy so I resist the temptation.
I haven't paper pieced lately and this fab stamp from dream2stamp just cries out for it, add some suitable papers from Dovecraft and a brilliant sketch from Stamp with Fun and this is what I ended up with and have to say I'm very please how she turned out. I've used punched butterflies normally I would have got out the brads and some punched flowers to finish off. Monday, May 11, 2009
Tilda Monday
Well I'm back, yes I did manage a Craft shop, The Craftrange in Burnley and of course we popped into The Range where I managed to pick up a couple of the new DCWV pads they are gorgeous. I didn't make any cards simply because I would have wanted something I hadn't brought with me so I coloured some images including this Tilda who just so happens to match the Papermania papers Blueberry Hill. I've still haven't brought down from upstairs Damon the sewing machine so I used faux stitching for the challenge on Just Magnolia and I've also used the sketch on Sketch Saturday. I've used the Woodware sentiment circle, I've been asked where I got it from, at the time it was at The Make it Show but I would of thought Sir Stampalot or the Glitter Pot might have them.
I thought I would include some scrapbook pages that I've finally finished, I started them at MJ Crop but put the titles on at home. I pretty such the papers are October Afternoon and were in a Scrapagogo kit along with the letters I've used for the Title. I'm pretty handy with drawing stitches but that is as far as my doodling goes.
I've been meaning to scrap this picture for a while, saw this paper at MJ and knew I wanted to use it and has I've thing for owls at the moment just had to use the Stamps Away Owl from Clever Cut. I've use the Storybook cartridge for the Cricut for the word Loves.
This was for the challenge my was to use Black and White Doodling and you were also given a piece of paper to use, it was double sided so this beige colour helped the black and white stand out. But I don't doodle at least not very well and I messed up the curly doodle in the corner so I used flowers to hide it. Just in case you can't work out the pics my Sis is wearing an Angel Halo, not sure who she was trying to kid.Sunday, May 10, 2009
Scrumptious Mouse
Oh I do love this PB mouse and you know its only because I know exactly how to colour him, unfortunately, cats, dogs and any other animal are now coloured the same way and it doesn't work as well. Although you can only just see the dandelion clock has be glamour dusted and the papers are chatterbox. The sentiment is Francoise Read circle sentiments from Woodware, the yellow 1 1/2 inch circle punch fits it perfectly and I've cut out on card, on the cricut, a shadow for that size to use has a template so I can layer the circle. I've also used the sketch on Truly Scrumptious but used only one piece of patterned paper it looks very effective, the extra was for something to eat, didn't manage that unless you fancy eating a mouse or a dandelion! We should be back today and I hope to have visited a least one craft shop.

Black and Blue
I really like the Basic Grey challenge this week of using Black and Grey with any added colour but of course I'm too late but I did use the idea for Whiff Of Joy challenge which is a sketch. I've had this BG Black tie papers for ages and it was time to cut into it and I've used my new Apron lace fiskars punch too.You may have realised I'm not home and if Blogger hasn't published this post well that means I'm talking to myself!
We are up in Lancashire visiting MIL for her birthday, talk about badly organise because its Port Sunlight today and its advance tickets only. How on earth did I miss that one.

Delicious Friday
Now on the Colour Create challenge they have this fabulous picture of a chocolate cake with strawberries and ouzing with cream to signify the colour Red, Chocolate and Cream colours well I tried. I had bits of red paperstock all over the place and I'm not the tidiest person to begin with, I really tried mixing it with brown and I didn't like any finally I decided I like these papers I printed off Bearly Mine designs but think Raspberry rather than Strawberry. The little girl is from Sugar Nellies and various flowers.Thursday, May 07, 2009
Spoonful of Ice Cream
This post has been edited to remove the old links that are no longer valid. The card was made for a challenge to use texture.
Apologies to Anush who designed the sketch on Everybody Art challenges have no idea how I confused myself.
After using Woodware fluffy stuff on the cupcakes the other week I picked up pink fluffy stuff at The Glitter Pot and was ideal for the this Home Grown stamps from Sugar Nellie. The stuff is really easy pop the fluffy stuff where you want it and then heat, just watch out for putting too much fluffy stuff on your card because it really does puff up. Just in case my fluffy stuff wasn't enough I embossed the nestablities on the side.
Apologies to Anush who designed the sketch on Everybody Art challenges have no idea how I confused myself.
I had the most fabulous gift yesterday, my CJ Favourite Destinations arrived back to me, have to say it was quite emotional to receive a little piece of each person of the group. I will try and photo it today. You can view it here

Penny Black Piggies
I'm not too sure about this card but that could be because I trying to make it suitable for a man. This is for the Penny Black challenge of 3 different shapes, Stamp with fun using a long card and also on Everybody art challenge there's a sketch from Domi. The papers are a download from Sweet Shoppe Designs from Misty Cato, I so wanted to pop some flowers on it somewhere.
A big apology to Fern and Julie both sent me this fab award over the weekend and I kept forgetting to pop it on my blog. Also thank you to all those who have wished my hubby and my Mum to get well, hubby is now better and back to normal and now that the long weekend is over we hoping the Hospital will finally sort out whats wrong with mum and quickly send her home.

Pink Tilda Tuesday
Well this was one eventful long weekend, so glad life can get back to normal, although its MIL birthday at the weekend, guess that weekend is going to be busy too. I only just managed to make a card for today, finished it off this morning. The sketch is from Sketch Saturday from Debbie. I seemed be having a pink phase at the moment, I've used some more Porcelain BG papers, some prima flowers and not forgetting Tilda.Hope to get back into the craftroom later but first I've some very boring stuff to sort out which I've been putting off and today it has to be done.

A Cute Bank Holiday
This is the cute bird stamp that I won from Everbody Art challenge, aren't they cut, I've seen a couple of birds coloured in Pink and Blue and I thought they would be perfect for doing that. The papers are Papermania, that Clare Curd showed me on Saturday and I've used the sketch on Friday Sketchers.
This was the first card I did yesterday, I was having trouble getting back to the crafty flow and I was EZ mounted the word stamp from Crafty Individual and thought it would work for the CPS 114 sketch and once I chosen the BG Eva papers it really went its own way, though I was going to use a small bird instead of the dream2stamp Owl but I think he works better.Life is returning to normal, hubby is fine now and Mum is still in hospital but seems to be on the mend.

Bank Holiday Drama
When my kids were little I used to look forward to bank holidays with trepidation because hardly one went past that we didn't have to see the emergency GP or a trip to Accident and Emergency, I thought those days were past. In the early hours of Saturday morning we took a trip to A & E with my hubby who was in so much pain it was scary, thankfully it was a kidney stone which he past under the influence of a lot of morphine. He was still in quite a lot pain when we got him home but with some strong painkilling pills he managed to fall asleep. He didn't want me to stay home and miss out on the Glitter Pot demo's but he wasn't too happy when I arranged a Baby sitter in the shape of DS.I'm so glad we did because we had a fabulous time and with the help of some coffee I managed to stay awake, had a chat with Stamping Caz and Claire while waiting for the queue at the till to die down. The lovely Kay Carley was shrinking plastic, Jane Gill was making some stunning flowers with punches, Julie Hickey was making cards with the craftwork Owl and Francoise had her new stamps and peel offs. DD brought Francoise jungle set so I will be borrowing that off her later. Quick phone call home and we popped into Crafts U love on the way back and I picked up a Fiskars apron lace punch.
Once home exhaustion set in so I only got to finish this card this morning, I've used my new set of nestablities, Bloom and Grow download papers, funky flower punches and of course Tilda, the fabulous sketch is from Bev for Just Magnolia.
Today we're just chillin', hubby a lot better but feeling worn out just in need of some TLC.

Monkeying around.
So I needed some men's card lately and this is one of them, I've used the sketch on Inspirational Card sketches this week although I've turned it around and the challenge on Papertake Weekly is for Spots and Stripes and my Whipper Snapper Monkey covers the animal challenge on EveryBody Art challenge. The papers are a free download from Summertime Designs and the sentiment is Hero Arts.So today I'm of to the Glitter Pot there's a whole weekend of demo's, now you might think this shop is near me but according to the AA its 1 hour and 6 minutes at the national speed depending on what vehicle my Sis gets stuck behind it may take us a bit longer to get there.

A Pair of Penny Black Mice
While I was checking out Cute Card Thursday Design Term cards (they're fab) for the Mirror Mirror challenge I remembered this stamp and how I could use glossy accents on the lenses for this shiny challenge. I chose the Lime Ricky BG papers and then realised there's a sketch on Basic Grey Challenges, although I've missed out the flowers. I really need some cards for Men and it was really hard not to stick a flower on somewhere, then I was trying to work out what else I could put on it, there is a time when less is more and hopefully this is one of them.So I've deleted my cookies on my PC to see if that would improve it, in future I will stick to one password, signing back into forums etc has been a bit of nightmare and it still didn't make my PC better. So eventually I went to the Help and Support and you have to follow the troubleshooting thingy, one of them was have you the latest updates from Microsoft, so I let it check and all of sudden it downloading and installing. I now have IE8, I was so worried it wouldn't work like Sis but touch wood it's working and the proof in the pudding will be this morning, when I go bloggin.
Thank you for lovely comments about Mum, she's doing OK and hasn't had another seizure but is still exhausted.

Thursday Roses
As you can see this is my MIL card, I used the fabulous sketch on Stamp with Fun which is designed by the very talented Bev. The papers are BG Porcelain and the stamp is Alota, I've layered the image in the more traditional decoupage way instead of the cheats way I usually do. Thats one thing off my list.Technology is still giving me hassle but I received a fab parcel from the Tina DT Stamp with Fun with my prize.
Not only the gorgeous LillyKate BG one of my faves papers, but a whole lot of hAnglar images, oooh can't wait till colour them up.Update on Mum, she's now in a ward, she hasn't had a seizure in the last 24 hrs so the drugs are working and she's moaning the beds are hard, so she is getting better but very tired.
It seems I'm not alone with Internet Exploring problems, at the moment I've buried my head in the sand and hoping it will sort itself out.

Whoops It's Wednesday
It was only by blogging did I realise its actually Wednesday, I thought it was Thursday so somehow I've lost a day. And its a new challenge on Simon Says Challenge this time a recipe, two papers, 3 buttons and a ribbon. I've used a Penny Black stamp that you can buy from Simon Says Stamps, Heidi has loads of PB stamps. The papers are Chatterbox. I would have posted this earlier once I discovered it was Wednesday but now the PC is giving me a headache, something is conflicting the Internet Explorer and freezing.Back tomorrow PC permitting.
Blue and Green
So while posting my Penny Black card yesterday, I got a call from my Sis, Mum had a seizure, Dad had called Ambulance. She had another in ambulance and another in A&E and was very poorly. Sis told me she would be with me in five minutes to take me up to the Hospital, at this point I wasn't dressed. Although very tired, Mum is OK but she has another seizure in the ward and they've given her some drugs to block them but they're concerned whats causing them, so it looks like she maybe in hospital for a few days yet.Unfortunately when I did come home I had a really bad headache and nothing would shift it, but I did feel a bit better in the evening and I made quick card using some scraps of October Afternoon which just happen to be blue and green which works for the Spoonful of Sugar challenge.
Oh pooh I meant to put glitter on her wings.

Penny Black Makeover
The challenge on Penny Black Saturday is for Anything goes, well this little lady has been waiting to be used. It was while colouring it in we were talking about Britain got talent and I definitely feel there's a look of Susan Boyles, the round face and the unruly hair, although I do feel her makeover is a bit dated. Moving quickly on the papers are Bloom and Grow, various blooms and Quickutz swirls.I'm trying to catch up with my Scrapbooking, I've been making layouts and although MJ has nearly every Sizzix alphabet there is, I love making titles with my Cricut so I've been collecting layouts that aren't quite finished so I've given myself a deadline. Also its MIL Birthday next week and she needs a card, I've choosen my stamp but it will take time to colour and build the image before I even start putting onto a card. I've joined a new CJ too, the book is made, just need to sort out my entry.

Monday Morning Magnolia
I made this card while over at my Sis but I really did miss my nestabilities so this card didn't work like I thought it would but the good thing it was made from the last scraps of this paper. What would I do without my funky flower punch and the leaf punch just gives it a nice finished look. This card colours work for the challenge on Just Magnolia.
I've be lucky to received some fabby cards through the post this one is from Stacey and its using the bloom and grow download from Sweet Shoppe and the a High Hopes stamp. This is the card that encouraged me to buy the download.
I also won the challenge on Everybody Art Challenge and received my prize which are these cute birdies and Domi sent this fab card too.Look what Heidi on Simon Says Stamps is offering as candy if you comment on my cupcake post.

Sunday Treats
Remember the fluffy stuff I was experimenting with during the week, now you can see what I used it for. Its Woodware fluffy stuff and you just heat it up, before you do you can add stuff like glitter which the camera won't photo, I did think to use some accent beads but they weren't the right colours. The cupcake and sentiment stamps are both from Simon Says Stamps using the Savor the Moment pack.
I also used the same stamp set for these yummy cupcakes, I love that BG papers they look like sprinkles, I also used glossy accent for the icing, again the camera doesn't let me photo it but you can just see a crack on the last cake.
I've been wanting to make one of these shape cards ever since I saw Nikki's tutorial, again the tiny cupcakes are from the Savor the Moment stamps but the cake stand I made with nestabilities square and cut of a strip and a heart punch.
There's also candles on this stamp set, originally I put them on a background of patterned paper but they got lost, so I've settled on clean and simple.
My favourite papers Bo Bunny and this was the very last card made with my scraps and what better than a yummy cupcake. So how's everyone doing with the Recycling challenge on Simon Says Challenge, there are some amazing creations and I will never think of corrugated cardboard in the same light. The annoying thing is when I was doing DT entry I couldn't find anything now I'm finding something every day, oh well sods law.
