Just Hanging Around
I didn't know where to start with card but I did know I wanted to frame the washing line, with that in mind I cut out the frame first in white then in the pinky colour. Then I washing line is up a certain height maybe with the branches of the trees which is where the Memory Box die came in and the flowers are punches.
The papers are LOTV and the corner is the retired from Cuttlebug which was an after thought when the plainest of the corner bugged me.
It was at this point I notice that I needed something at the bottom to help bring the tree and cat together so I used the MFT grass die along the bottom just what it needed.
Of course my image is a Penny Black one and the sentiment is a Woodware one fancy something different for a change.
Apologise for the ribbon but obviously Mr Camera has made his displeasure know and made the colour weird in RL is goes very nicely otherwise I wouldn't have put it on the card!!!!!
Today I need to finally catch up with my Favourite Five 2013 so I can choose a winner and put it to bed for another year. Also I would like to do some Scrapbooking for a change.

I have some patterned papers from Lily Bee called Autumn Spice and just used some of the scraps for the fishtail banners.

Perfect Love
I couldn't resist being inky the Simon Says Stamps Feather Die cried out to be inked. So once cut out I stuck them roughly with re positionable glue this so the little blighter's don't move. There are three tones of blue ink on each feather and I was really pleased how they turned out.
First I stamped in Versamark the sentiment Perfect Love from Simon Says Stamps and embossed with white powder. I position and used the spellbinders Majestic Squares (I think thats what they called if not its close) left on the die to ink over to help the sentiment show up. It looks fine in real life but once the camera got it s hands on it the sentiment disappeared.
Shades of Blue
I wanted to join in the Less is More Winter Blues challenge but all the ideas I had, I've either done them before and or someone had made a similar card. On the table beside me is a box of Simon Say Stamps dies and in there are the feathers. I wanted to use a stencil over them but I just wasn't in the right frame of mind to get messy.
I got out different shades of blue card and using MFT zig zag/chervons die cut out 3 of each colour and of white. A bit of advice here stick some dst behind the card and careful position the die along it so you will able to stick the down the zigzag. I went through quite a bit of the tape in the Xyron to make it sticking on the back.
I used a thin bit of paper to layer my zigzags on the last three I cut in half and layered half the side till I have enough to use the feather die.
After a hunt through must of my stuff I found the Inkylicious stamp that I brought from Ally Pally. Once stamped I just coloured the blue word and put my feathers together with a bit of silver twine. I used a spellbinders die to cut out the sentiment and then used to it to draw round and hand cut the mat.
Paper pricked round the edges of a white mat and stuck it down in the centre and added everything else on top.
It still wet and windy and the radio is constantly tell us which roads are being closed and Guildford even made the telly with their metal river defences to save the lower High Street from being flooded again. But at least we are able to go out even if it is in our wellies, my heart goes out the USA where they have record freezing temperatures.

So to my card which turned out more green than blue but hey ho not much I can do about that now. The papers are Lily Bee Christmas Cheer just had a few left. The girls are from The Greeting Farm Miss Anya Scarfs, I used two stamps from the set and because I layer my images, I didn't have to worry about masking them.
Lucky for me I haven't put away my snowflakes die including the Maryanne one, I cut it out in white first then Kraft which I cut out the centre. Instead of messing around with a glue stick I ran my snowflakes in the small Xyron (its handy for words and letters too) facing down so that glue covered the it. I ran a small embossing tool round the edges before taking the protective strip off and then covered it in the glitter. I still get covered in glitter but it not stuck to glue on fingers!
I used the Happy die and stamp set since my daughter whose birthday is the 1st of Feb and she has been complaining it always seems to snow on her birthday (she better not look at the long range weather forcast).
I used the sketch from The Sketchy Challenge and it had this odd bit at the end of one of the mats so I used a Tilted Banner and sentiment cos the space annoyed me.

Mojo Monday Heart
Just when you thought it was safe but the Simon Says Stamps large Doily Heart makes another appearance, I do love this heart and I can't stop myself from threading twine round it finished with a bow. To be honest I made it for another card which didn't work but saved the heart.
The sketch is from Mojo Monday but thats passed now but pleased how it turned out. I was going to use the Falling Hearts stencil with embossing paste but who am I kidding that I what to go through all that palaver when the Falling Hearts die works fine for me and less stressful. But I do plan to work out how to emboss with the stencil. Yes that is another sentiment from the Perfect Love sentiment set did I tell you much I love this set. The stripy paper came from Simon Says Stamps kit that I've actually had time to play with.
See you at 2pm with a new challenge.

Recipe Time
The first Challenge of 2014 from Everybody Art Challenge is a recipe 4Paper,3Flower,2Pin and a Swirl.
Although I had three sheets of patterned paper left over from a Theresa Collins back they were doublesided so the dragonflies and dotty were from the same sheet. Now if it wasn't a challenge I wouldn't of used the dragonflies they're still annoying me.
Pretty certain I used a sketch but that went out the window as things got stuck. Three flowers are from my stash but I'm pretty sure they came from a shop that had a wedding section. The swirl is from MFT and the butterfly pins are from Maya Road.
Of course the fabulous image is from Saturated Canary and there should be a duck with her that I removed. I've since discovered that Kristen also has an image similar without a duck could have saved me a headache if I had actually seen it first.
I do hope you can join us this week and don't forget to check out the team.

Passed
Not sure what happened this morning but the photos in this draft post went out of focus obviously blogger has a problem because I uploaded the same photos and they look fine guess he will sort it out in due course.
I had the perfect opportunity to use this image from Mo Manning See Ya!. It started off with the idea of CAS with just the L plates hanging from bow but it just didn't look right.
Then things just started to go wrong and in the end I added the swirl and the flowers not sure thats any better but the young lady who received the card seemed pleased. She passed first time just before Christmas and her parents have already got her down as the designated driver.
Anyway if you are thinking of buying the See Ya and one of the many fabulous new images then now is the right time cos Mo has a fabulous offer at the moment.

Doily Heart Boy
This card just didn't work for me I've had laying around for a few days trying to work out how to make it look better. I love the doily hearts these are the smaller once from Simon says Stamps. I love the gorgeous With Love Boy from Mo Manning which also comes as a Penny Black Stamp.
I think possibly the sketch from Sketchy Challenge that as now finished just didn't work for like it did in my heart.
Anyway if you are thinking of buying the With Love Boy and one of the many fabulous new images then now is the right time cos Mo has a fabulous offer at the moment.

I've already got my eye on a couple especially love the Sleeping Fairy, Missing Tooth and the poor chap with his broken aeroplane.
Today sees the end of the Christmas fortnight and life returns to normal tomorrow, I had hoped to have spent some time craftying but its been hit and miss. Having one of my atypical migraines that knocked me out for three days then it was off to celebrate New Year didn't help. So I'm a bit behind on catching up on the Favourite Five challenge but I have popped round and loved all the Christmas Fives. I will let the random thingy do his work later to chose a winner although the links are not done but should be finished over the next couple of days. Then I will catch up with the Fives of 2013 looking forward to that.
I haven't even decided on any new resolutions although I was finding it hard to be motivated to make cards last year and I wanted to do so much more scrapbooking. So I have a plan that I will try for one layout a week that would make 52 layouts of course I'm behind already need to get my DT cards sorted and have a few cards in my drafts for bad days. I'm also going on a retreat in March so that should help too.
I also hope that when the plans for the outhouse gets finished and I'm back in there, I will be able to use my sewing machine more, so want to try Patchwork. Loving crocheting at the moment another Baby Blanket started but this means less time Card Making so maybe more CAS cards but I'm going to not stress if I don't have a card for my blog or at least try not to stress.

New Home
Can you believe it we are now at the first Saturday and its time for a new challenge on Penny Black Saturday Challenge and its for something NEW.
Since I haven't been making many cards over Christmas, I decided to use an old favourite the little mouse on a snail to represent moving home.
The first one is based on a CAS sketch but can't find which challenge blog it was but I think it worked out well. The hearts are a new die from La La Land I think and the papers are LOTV. The sentiment is from Hobby Art the tricky thing was I had split it into pieces so it would fit a square or a circle now with the trend of fish tail banners I needed a long sentiment luck for me its almost straight.
I had two of these images coloured so using a more traditional type of sketch went with this card using scallops nestablilities square dies with a touch of ribbon.
Do hope you can join us this month.

Heart Flowers
When this Hearts Blooms die arrived at my house from Simon Says Stamps it had to be put to use and the simple way would be to cut out the shape on card and then fill the gaps with the cut outs. Before I stuck them I put double sided tape on the inside of the card which in turn I covered with white card so it would look neater.
The stems and leaves were easy but the hearts were a bit more tricky since there were more of them and I tried to put the right heart to its original place but now after doing this I'm almost sure (haven't tried it yet) but those hearts look exactly the same and possible any of them will do.
The sentiment is from the gorgeous sentiment stamps called Perfect Love.
Well so far 2014 has brought us rain and more rain and even more is forecast.

Sassy's Ladybird
The centre image mat is straight I tell you, I've had a ruler out to measure and everything. Of course its the camera fault not the photographer. The papers are leftovers no idea whose they were and of course my sweet image is from Sassy Cheryl.
No idea where the sketch comes from I made this card before Christmas and it seems ages ago.
The mini scallops is a Memory Box die and my ladybirds (ladybugs) are a Elizabeth Designs die. The sentiment is a stamp that is on my desk that I've no idea from either, gosh the brain's not working today.

Now to my card I used the adorable little cutie stamp from CC Designs Baby Bear Beatrice might have to change the name to Baby Bear Ben just for my card cos he is obviously a boy.
The papers are Doodlebug Flower Box, I'm now on the second packet cos I love the papers so much.
There are a lot of MFT dies on this card the obvious one is the Crochet Border die for round my image and for a border.
The clouds and the flowers are both from MFT along with the corner.
That just leaves the sentiment and the baby word die both from Simon Says Stamps Exclusives

Triple Hearts
Oh yes my Doily Hearts from Simon says Stamps are back again and once again I couldn't resist threading twine in the large one and making a bow.
The smaller hearts I cut one out and cut off the scallops to give me the centre which I used as a guide for the red centres that I also embossed with the swiss dots folder.
The beautiful sentiment is from their Perfect Love set.
We've been away celebrating the New Year and should be on our way home now and life will start to return to normal.
