Thank You

Thank you for the lovely thoughtful condolences, they have been a great comfort to me.
I will leave you with my Simon Says Stamps Wednesday Challenge card, when I made it, I didn't realise how apt it would be.
I'm afraid my cards maybe a bit hit and miss for a while.

Bingo

It time for the first challenge of 2015 of Everybody Art Challenge and this week its Bingo. I've chosen the top row.
My image is from Mo Manning  called Baby Fairy Bobbin, sorry but I don't know who made the paper. It seemed right to faux stitch round the card mats.
The swirl I used twine to make it and threaded it through the button, the needle is Memory Box die cut from gold card. To finish I used the lace and ribbon.

Do pop over and check out the team, also hope you can join us this week.

My Favourite Five of 2014 is Here

Thanks Birdies

I can't believe I didn't do much crafting over the holidays in fact I did a couple of pages of scrapbooking and thats for a DT challenge and that was it. I went in my craftroom for a couple of hours yesterday but really I might has well not bothered it didn't go well.
This card I made before the Christmas break, I received my order of the new dies for Diecember from Simon Says Stamps and it included the Songbird Branch and what better than one bird but two. I cut two out and flipped one over because I embossed the back it hides the fact it the wrong way.
The papers are Teresa Collins Nine and Co, I layered the papers how I wanted it and used the Stitched Rectangle over it all, which is the same why I did the stitched circle. The thanks is also from Simon Says Stamps and I cut it out twice so I could layer it.
I'm pretty sure I got a sketch for the layout but haven't a clue where now. Apologies for the crooked photographer some things never change.

My Favourite Five of 2014 is still open until Tuesday 6th so you still have time to join in.

James

Look what I found in my drafts, I really thought I didn't have a card for today but I found him hiding at the bottom.
Of course my little chap is James the Bear from LOTV. Of course I understand why his hidden down there because although I love James my card is a bit of a wart.
The papers are not true Christmas papers but some from Stampin Up that were still on my desk and I decided that they could work for Christmas.
I also embossing the background with stars not sure you can see them of whether I should pretend they are not there.
The holly is the Martha Stewart punch and the sentiment is LOTV too.

New

I was running out of time before Christmas but I wanted this card done so I knew all my DT work for next week or two was done. But I hadn't even coloured the image.
So out this large Penny Black stamp perfect for celebrating the New Year with and perfect for the New challenge on Penny Black Saturday Challenge which is just that New.
I decided to welcome the New Year and although I would rather used my Good Luck I think I let my friend borrow it. Isn't it funny you lend someone something thinking you won't need and immediately you do. But I made a decent compromise by using the Penny Black Best Wishes and the numbers are All Occasion die.
Just a few flowers because I can and job done.
Do pop over and check out the team, hope you can join us this month.

Pignon

I'm still in my minimalistic card making although saying that I'm pretty sure this was a sketch from somewhere, no idea where from now.
Of course the adorable image is from Mo Manning called Pignon and the papers I'm pretty sure could be Echo Park or Carta Bella but have no idea which or what its called.
The ivy is a Sue Wilson die from Creative Impression it needed using to see how it would work out. Basically I need to cut it out twice so I can cut some ivy our to layered to give it a bit depth.
The sentiment is LOTV to finish.
I've been away for a few day celebrating New Year with my Sister and her husband and we are travelling back today. No doubt I will need a few days to recover and not just from over indulging!

Out with Old, In with the New

I have to be honest I'm glad to see the back of 2014, yes we did have some great HIGHS,
my Mum and Dad renewing their vows,

Mason's First Birthday

My brother's 60th

and a gorgeous Summer Wedding and

rounded off by finally meeting Heidi and Stephanie from Simon Says Stamp.

But the enormous low was losing my Dad
I didn't realise how much he left a huge hole in my heart and being such a terrible pessimist I worry for both my Mum and Hubbies Mum.
Time to push forward and accept everything that 2015 is about to throw at you.
I do have some new resolutions maybe my first one should be not to be a pessimist but I've had a whole lifetime perfecting it but I will try not to be as bad. ( Pretty much certain this one won't last long)
My second is Christmas Cards I am not going to leave it so late so determined that I'm going to try and join in some Christmas challenges this year so it you thought you were safe from Christmas Cards till the summer hopefully you will be mistaken.
Yes there is a third, 2014 has taken a toll on my weight, although I haven't been able to lose anymore I wasn't putting it on either till this year and I have gained a stone ( it maybe more I haven't weighed myself yet), that needs to be dealt with.
There is also a fourth not to buy as much craft stuff but that just silly having that one, it probably would only last till I see the craft sales!!!!!!!

A story to tell

I didn't make 52 layouts but came close I managed 50 and this is the last one to show this year.
I made it for a challenge at the retreat I went to in October. It was made with mainly dies. The waves are MFT and so it the boat. The title is Memory box dies and I just found the different blues and cute them out. The clouds are possible Memory Box or even MFT not really sure.
The paper is probably Echo Park and I used the grungy stamp set from Stampin  in similar blues. I paper pricked the side to give more definition.
The pic are of my nephew and his nephew (my Gt nephew) canoeing down at Hayling Island.
Have safe New Year Eve and see you next year.

My Favourite Five of 2014

My favourites are in no particular order so to start the ball rolling my first is a Penny Black card. The thing I love about this was that it was one of the quickest cards I ever made. It was for a DT card and I made a complete mess of the first one and had to make one quick at the eleventh hour. So grabbed the coloured card matching the colour challenge and practially copied the colour inspiration photo.

One of my favourite papers are Doodlebug and add one of Mo Mannings Baby image and you've a recipe for a jolly good card.

I had actually used enamel dots and I had just started to get it along with sequins. Also I love paper pieceing the image and Pure Innocence stamps cry out to be layered like this.

I love Dr Digi images especially for Mens cards he can really capture the funny side their life.

I just love papers and how it all worked so well together.

Happy Birthday

Another card that after several attempts went in the bin the final one worked out so much better than the one inside my head.

Congratulations
Another card that looked busy but was a very simple card but it looks so elegant.

Thank you everyone who entered the Favourite Five Christmas Cards and I look forward to seeing your favourites of 2014.
All you have to do is to make a post with your favourites and link them with the frog. If you've already post your favourites of 2014 thats OK you can still add your link and join in.

Ragged Kelly

Ok this is looks like a Christmas Card and I'll almost agree with you but it could work for a girl's Birthday card whose Birthday falls in the next couple of months when its more likely to snow.
You should know by now that the snowflakes are Simon Says Stamps and the border is the Snow border from Joy.
The gorgeous papers are LOTV and the my oval is Spellbinders Floral Oval.
My sweet image is Ragged Kelly from Mo, if you already have some Ragged image you simple need this one too.
No time to stop and waffle today need to write tomorrows post have a large post to write My Favourite Five Cards/Creations for 2014, hope you can join me.

Belated Birthday

My order from Simon Says Stamps arrived just before Christmas Week and with Hubby working I thought I would be able spend the day making lots of cards with the dies. Unfortunately Mr Mojo had a different idea.
So lots of cards turned out to be a couple warts before my poor brain felt fried with trying to think of some originally.
Instead I went off to find sketch and found the recent one from Mojo Monday. To start with I had no idea how to use it.

So first off I decided my Woodland Tree from Simon Says Stamps would replace the circle, then hunted through my Simon Says Stamps first to find a square size sentiment. This one from Naughty Nautical seemed the closest and the fact my tree trunk could come down into would help that it didn't fit a square perfectly.
The papers are Prima, twine from Doodlebug and little flowers which I wasn't sure of are Martha Stewart Hydrangea trio punch.

Swinging

So its all over hope you had a good one, now we just have to see the new year in to start afresh in 2015.
Meanwhile we have a Saturday in between and even I'm amazed that I managed to make a card for today.
First off the sketch is one I found in Pinterest so I'm not sure if it current or not.
the sweetest thing...
Then I decided to use the Perils of Love, yes thats what they call this stamp but notice that there are three critters hanging, clever or luck I'm not telling.
The paper is Simple Stories which work with the colour I used for my thanks die from Simon Says Stamps.
I may have cut down the image a bit too much but it still doesn't look too bad. I added the Upsy Daisy flowers from MFT to the ends of the branch in hope that the branch isn't floating mid air.

New York

I have had to wait till now to show this card although its not really a card. Inside is a pocket for some dollars for a lovely couple who have flew to New York on Christmas Day (cheap flights apparently)
I had to use the Memory Box Cityscape die twice so it would fit a long card. Didn't fancy yellow lights so used my favourite colours for Christmas behind the cut out.
Double cut of My Favourite Things grass die upside down with join hidden by a Simon Says Stamps Maryanne snowflake die.
Finally Simon Says Stamps Merry Christmas die to finish.

I had a little bit of the Cityscape left and saw the sketch on CAS(E) this sketch and knew I could use it.
But to make the background look more interest than white and grabbed my falling snow stamp from Simon Says Stamp Be Joyful set and just stamp in a matching inkpad. Add sentiment from the same set, job done.

My Favourite Five Christmas Cards of 2014

I love Mo's Valerie so perfect for quick cards and easy to colour but still allows me layer the image.

I love how this card turned out, I used normal Prima papers and some dies, can't believe it turned out so well.

Although the die was really tricky to use, I was really proud how lovely this turned out, so much I still have it couldn't bear to be parted from it maybe next year I will be able to give away.

When I discovered that the stamp set from Simon Says Stamps Be Joyful had a snowfalling stamp I was over the moon and quick cards like my leftover tree suddenly was made much easier than using embossing paste.

My favourites have to include a  Penny Black somewhere and this one is that pipped the post.

You may have noticed that I have 6 cards this last one although not 'my' favourite it needs a special mentioned. First of it was a DT card for Simon Says Stamp which was for a Shaker card
I don't like making shaker card they usually end up leaking. What was amazing that this card was pinned 1946 just from Simon Says Stamp Pinterest Board and it was view 1873 times on Splitcoast Stampers. So I reckon this must be my most sucessful card I ever made.

To win my candy just add to Mr Linky your post of your favourite Christmas Creations, one rule they have to be made by you and in 2014.

Thank you everyone for being patience with me this year, I haven't been a good blogger this year, I promise to try my best for next year.
THIS IS NOW CLOSED PLEASE DON'T ADD TO MR LINKY
