More Classes

First Cleo's class, I just love the handmade felt buttons and so did all the class know I did too. I've had no luck or love of felt but with Cleo's tip I shall be making buttons for everything. There should be rub ons on the orange cardstock, well I tried I hovered over with them, shall I put here or there, couldn't decide so I didn't bother. The is also a lovely pocket to put little photos in but it would hide bits of the photos so left that out too.
Jane's class was with transparencies, she had a lovely little acylic booklet with different techniques in. The class was really easy. Although I didn't do it but on Janes she had copied the writing on the acylic. And theres acylic door on the journalling so you lift it up to read.
Now I confess this wasn't my type of thing but its the first time I used Heidi Swapp masks and I like how we stamped with glue and used glitter. The idea of a pocket to put tickets etc in was a good idea too. Not keen on the felt and the bird was hidden in the pocket and I thought he should be on the outside to hide the journalling labels so less journalling.

I've tried my new Aquabrush with a regulator, as far as I'm concern far too much water escapes so back to my paintbrush. Gave some cards to Mum for their table top sale this Saturday but they already been sold, hopefully enough money for a Turkey for their Christmas dinner. Which reminds me I need to make my Christmas Cards soon. Before I can think of them going to Creative Scrapbooking Company at Edgeware on Saturday to be taught by the lovely Linda.

J Alert

I did very little of my own scrapbooking at the weekend and most of the photos I used were with this cheeky chappie. I tried to get some photos of my two this week cos they were both in the house. They made excuses like I haven't any make up on or I need a haircut. Then accused me of only wanting photos to scrapbook with, not at all I told them, OK I lied. Anyway this LO of Jake is a complete Scraplift from the front page of Septembers Scrapbook Trends the only thing is different is the papers and words.
Here's my LO of Kirsty Wiseman class, painting, acetate, stitching, cutting out you name we did it. Its still raining here but suppose to fine up later so hopefully will be able to photo the rest of the LO from the weekend.
I've been tagged by Terrie for 7 random or weird facts about myself, I'm so boring this could take some time to think some up.

PS

Somehow blogger gobbled up the LO's I uploaded, so will try again tomorrow.

Essentials

needed for a Scrapcamp, one would be food to nibble on, oh and bottles of the alcohol variety. It doesn't matter that you've had a full english breakfast, a large lunch or a three course dinner.
Next is retail therapy, it doesn't matter that you've brought enough stash to open your own shop, there is always something you've forgotten or papers you haven't seen before that match ( Or you have Liz in the shop who is very HELPFUL at matching embellishments for the paper you are holding in your hands).

Friends, friends that my Sis and I have made on our Scrapjourney since Scrapcamp1. Friends we discovered live near us, friends that live far away, new friends, talented friends. Friends to laugh with, friends to swop ideas with, Friends that care.

Scrapcamp

This weekend was Scrapcamp4 and we were lucky that it actually took place, Hilton at Bristol double booked some of the rooms but they came up trumps with Swindon, OK we could of done without the wedding on Saturday but we worked round that. I was lucky to meet three scrapbookers
who inspired me to Scrapbook Kirsty Wiseman, Jane Dean and Scrapdolly (Karen Leahy). They are the reason I still scrapbook.

Somehow that Fairy Karen managed to talk me into something again. But at least I didn't get roped too much in the games.
Jo got roped into Blindmans Scrapping but with Jane's help managed a to be the first to complete the challenge But I don't think Nannette is ever going to forgive me. The next game you needed a spokesman, Jane Dean and a representative Nannette. Then I saw the paper towell roll and the black sack and as a Scrapcamp veteran I knew what this meant and I was laughing hysterically before they were even told what was expected of them. The spokesman with her helpers had to make a dress for the representative with the paper roll, bin bags, sellotape, stapler and stash.

Introducing Carmen Jellybean.

The spokesman had describe her dress, Jane introduced Carmen as her size zero model, I didn't hear much after that laughing too much but I think I did hear Big Bertha Productions.

But Carmen wasn't alone introducing the Scrapcamp Fashion Models.

I didn't manage to Maria Grace's album class because I had problem with my hip and had to rest it for most of Sat Afternoon but with rest, painkillers and a large glass of wine (few more glasses in the evening) felt a lot better and promised Sis I will always do as she says if only to avoid the I TOLD YOU SO later.
A huge thank you to these wonderful ladies below for a fantastic weekend.

You can see my team-mate Terrie and myself on her blog and even more pics.

Scrapcamp

Ok blogger playing up loading pics but at least I managed two but in reverse order the first one is actually SC2 you have to laugh at the rows of AMM tote bags. The second one is SC1 with two new friends we had such a giggle.
So my bags are packed with far too much stash and with Ellie's shop I will be bringing even more back.

Challenge UKS

Is done and no crafting today because all my stash is packed, and have I packed too much, probably.
No point stash buying online because of Postal Strikes which reminds me to pack the Scrapbook Trends I got from Mod Scraps on Monday. I find this book brilliant, simply because its full with different styles.
I'm not very happy with this LO cos the chipboard journalling thingy something is missing but at least I got points for my team and I'll have think about this weekend.
So next week I shall have loads to show with all the classes and I think I will load my BOB layouts too cos I haven't heard and I'm sure it was shortlisted at the end of September.

Finally

Yesssssssssssss I've finished off my mystery kit finally. I'm sure there will be some fantastic projects, last year someone make a christmas tree it was gorgeous. Well hoping to do the weekly challenge it will have to be quick and simple because I really need a tidy scraproom to be able to pack everything I want for scrapcamp.
Paypal has finally come through and now sorted but missed out on the grab its on Scrapagogo never mind its not that I don't have enough stash and I'm sure Ellie from Mod Scraps will have load of goodies.

Paypal

Having trouble with Paypal I've exceeded my sending limit, stop snickering Sis I can hear you from here. So now I have to verify the account and I'm waiting for the bank deposits, but I've left it to last minute to pay for Design Collective lucky for me the girls managed to sort it out for me.
Still struggling with the mystery kit thats why there's no pic, did think about showing the XS I'm doing but its too dark, dank and dreary here to photo, which could also be a prob with the mystery kit.
Scrapcamp is now only days away, sorted out some photos hopefully will work for the classes but not bothered if not, just going with the flow and enjoy. Sis has had a tummy bug which I hope I can avoid not be happy if it happens Friday!!!!!!!!

Mystery Kit

You would have thought by now I would have learnt to keep things simple but NO. Two days later I've managed to finish 3/4 of the project, the only good thing is next bit is the fun bit. It didn't help that you limited to black and white inkpads the only colouring you can use is pencils and pens. Here's some flowers I made that may or maynot be part of the project.
It looks like I may have won the monthly challenge again, I am really embarrassed cos I only did it cos I think you house or team get extra points.
The Hilton at Bristol has pulled out a right cracker this time and has double booked the rooms promised to Mandy and now Scrapcamp has had to move to Swindon. Not a problem for us cos now we are nearer but others have further to go. Plus the girls coming into Bristol Airport now have to travel an extra 25 miles but Mandy made the hotel pay their taxis.
And too all the girls who went to Ally Pally I am so jealous but could I afford it, no probably not.

Does

Does anyone have days like mine, whatever I do, it looks rubbish. Had a couple of ideas and they didn't work out and they found themselves in the bin. Lucky for me this lasted one day and I'm now well into doing my mystery kit but of course, chose something that will take a while to do, so bear with me and I'll be back with some LO's and cards.

Glitter

Other Magnolia stampers have used glitter on the wings of these stamps never thought of that so made this little one. I also brought the glitter pad from DCWV wouldn't use it for scrapbooking but I got the small pad for cards.
Well I have my mystery kit for the Birthday Cyber Crop have to keep it all hush hush. Do I have any idea want to do with it errr NO really would like to sort it out before I go to Scrapcamp. This time next week I shall be driven over to Sis with far too much stash of course. We're leaving quite early to miss some of the weekend traffic but will go to Cribbs Causeway for lunch.
I need to sort out photos but ran out of ink hope that the new ones arrive soon.

Baby's back

My baby's back exhausted, so relieved to have her back home. The US is a long way if there is a problem. She maxed her Credit Card but managed to do everything she planned.
Nothing crafty at the mo found out I through to next round of the monthly challenge. I haven't really watched the voting cos I was sure my favourite was going through so I'm rather stunned.

Finally

Finished UKS challenge managed all the points, just realised the photo is awful. Had to use orange, yellow red and green, 3 photos, something metal and the theme is Happy. My cd collection in my little room has to be moved to make up some space, in order to do that I've got to sort the shelve above the computer which has all this pc, disc, leads and all sorts of junk not sure where to start.
DD is finally home tonight after 11 months away can't wait to give her a big hug.

Snowflakes

I so wanted to play with my new stuff but felt rubbish, but I was determined and make this card using my new hero arts clear stamp for the background using brilliance lavender, the cuttlebug embossed the winter words, quickcutz snowflake, used a white souffle pen to fill in the words and to colour some of the snowflakes and while the ink was still wet sprinkled glamour dust over it. So for one little card my room is glittering like a christmas tree.

Monday Morning Feeling

Last of the Magnolia cards I've made, this time is for Loo so I hope she doesn't read my blog. I've decoupage the horse and the rosette I made using a small scallop punch, the papers are scraps of making memories. Funky Kits and Silly Monkey have more magnolias on preorder and I'm trying to resist but there is a great Father Christmas that I really like. The weekly challenge on UKS is tequila, bright colours so it looks like another Jake LO wearing a bright orange T shirt you can't get brighter than that, but laying low for the next couple of day while I recover from the weekend. DD is now in New York and on the last leg of her trip before coming home.

Updated

Back from Kent didn't find much about my descendents but did manage to buy some nice bits of Tunbridge Ware. My Gt Grandfather is John Kemp of Boyce, Brown & Kemp who manufactured Tunbridge Ware, most of their wares were for the tourist market so little trinket boxes, pin cushions etc.
Although was told only 1 craft shop I managed 3. Crafts U Luv in Charlwood, The Craft Barn in Lingfield (shock, horror they're closing down on the 7th October) and Craft Central at Notcutts at Cranleigh we needed to get a pressie for a friend OH suggested on the way home to pop in, had a feeling that Craft Central had opened there!!!!!!
Not sure if Sis has her birthday card from Mum yet but here it is in all its glory, and another Magnolia girl with her frilly petticoat from myself to Sis.

UKS Challenge

Well the challenge this week was to scrap on something other than 12 by 12, so I can tick that box, something norty well that was more difficult because I'm never norty!!!!!!!!!! but then I remember the pic of Stitch with a can a beer. DD wasn't happy with us cos he's not allowed beer.
You also had to add ribbons so that task is all completed. I have used the other Magnolia stamp but I'll load that Sunday hopefully when I get back from Kent.
As the navigator have planned our route via Crafts U Luv and I have a list, some more embossing folders for the cuttlebug saw some nice baby embellishments and some hero arts clear stamps.

Happy Birthday Sis

I was going to show the gaudy card I made for Mum to give to Doreen but even though I got the card to Mum so she could give it to Sis on Tuesday she decided to post it. There lays a problem anyone who makes cards are aware that 3d elements can make the card a large letter, try and explain that to my Mother and there lays the problem. So Sis might have to pay extra postage and admin costs. But these are much better cards , the little magnolia stamps. Of course the one with a petticoat just had to be layered and I stamped onto some patterned paper, I love how their dresses match the background paper which is DCWV teen pack.
Traci has made a super little book for her momji dolls it is so cute and she doing RAK on her blog so pop over and leave comment. I love Traci's work it is so original. Today I must really do my UKS challenge I'm away this weekend so it must be done today, good job I have an idea.

Crate paper

One of the sympathy cards I've made lately, quick and simple just used left over scraps of crate paper. Just have enough left for about one more card which I will use for a Magnolia stamp that I got yesterday. Yes I know another band wagon but I only got three and they are a bit cheaper because they are unmounted. I'm going to use one for Sis's card and one for Loo. Couldn't use them yesterday as the workmen nicked the plug that the light went in for their power tools so I sat on Ancestry.co.uk all day checking out family on my Grandad's side for the relations from Canada that are spending the day with Sis. DD is now in San Francisco and have handed in the VAN that they've been driving, I wipe my brow with a sign of relief.
