Penny Black Buffet

The Penny Black Saturday Challenge we have a buffet for you this week and not the one with cupcakes.

Choose 4 items from the buffet to make your card. I've choosen Patterned Paper, ribbon, flowers and buttons, all my favourites. Yes it is the Delovely papers again, I'm really getting down to scraps now.
Ssssh I did sneak in a border and some corners, oh and some glitter on the cupcake, hopefully no-one will notice.

It hasn't been a good week and I had hoped to catch upwith some cards yesterday but best laid plans and all that, so I'm hoping for a better day today.

Now normally on Thursday, I wait patiently for the latest LOTV challenge but with it being things with wings and I was waiting on some of their new stamps, I thought I would wait.
So what would I do for a card today, perhaps confess that this little darling and few others fell through the letterbox the other day.
So this cute darling is from WOJ only that I'm slightly confused on the front of the stamp packet she is pictured with three hearts but the stamp only has two so not sure how many she really should have, wasn't too much of problem just added another heart. One of the reasons I brought her wasn't for the hearts anyway I was thinking I could use her with a butterfly on her hand as well as the hearts.
The sketch is from the WOJ challenge from Jane and the papers are Girl Friday from Cosmo Cricket, I've discovered I've quite a bit of these papers so be warned I plan to use them again.
I don't send Valentines except for my Hubby and to annoy my two children so I wanted a sentiment to work for Birthday and I found Sending you on a Personal Impression stamp set and the Birthday wishes was another set of theirs.
My Postman was running late yesterday and guess what he delivered.

Clean and Simple

So this is what I was doing the other night, playing with the Spotty flowers and Spotty background clings from Hero Arts. Ok they're what I call Clean and Simple but I did enjoy just making them and the spotty flowers just cried out to be cut out and layered.
I cheekily added the Thank you sentiment cos now I can enter it in this week challenge at A Spoonful of Sugar.
But I had stamped out quite a few of flowers so I checked out the Mojo Monday sketch challenge and came up with this.

The sentiment is from Anita's stamps I've had for ages.

But I still had some flowers and I remember making a card like this ages ago. So using another sentiment stamp possibly from Anita's and a swirl punch finished this card.

Finally I had one flower left and using a Scor-pal to get the embossed lines and few gems to finish. Has you can see the swiss dots embossing folder from the Cuttlebug had worked hard to make these cards too.
Hopefully I will get into my craft room today now that things are settle down on the home front. Dad is looking much better but he has to wait till to be assess for Mum to come home from respite.

WOYWW 84

So last night DD went to Quiz night and Hubby went out for a couple of hours with BIL so I fancy playing in my room. No challenges or DT work just playing with the Hero Arts Stamps I got from Simon Says Stamps.
And this is how I left my desk last night it doesn't look too bad in the photo but it looks worst sitting in front of it. At least I cleaned the stamps before I shut the door on it.
So first thing today is to tidy and see whether I've time to make a card before we go out to drop some shopping at Dads, then pop over to see if Mum is OK.
Hopefully there are worst desks over on WOYWW that way I won't feel so bad.
I did make some cards but if I don't get time to make a card today they'll be tomorrows post.

Shabby Chic Popcorn

Well I think today maybe Wednesday but its been a manic couple of days so I hope it is Wednesday cos I going to post my Simon Says Stamps Challenge today. Now the DT is show casing Popcorn and Swalk stamps which are available over on Simon Says Stamps. Would you believe I don't own either so that was soon rectified from the shop that sells everything.

We have an amazing sketch from Domi

As you can see my Popcorn is a bit big for sketch but all the elements are there. I've used the Kaiser Seaside pack that you might I spied on WOYWW last week in my parcel from Simon Says Stamps, I also used the spotty background from Hero Arts for the dots on my flowers but so wished I had some red buttons rather than the matching blue.
Well the couple of crazy days are due to my Dad being poorly and sent to Hospital. This meant that Mum need to go to a home for respite card all happened in about 3 hours on Monday. Then yesterday the Hospital wanted to discharge Dad with intermediate care at home, not a problem cos I know Dad wanted out. But I lost count how many phone calls this took and at one point I was on house phone, mobile and answering the door at the same time.
Then I couldn't settle to craft till I know Dad was home, which he now is and Mum is staying put for a few days so Dad can rest and recover but I know he will be wanting her home soon.

Because you're Wonderful

Now you know I love sketches and we have a brilliant one today at Everybody Art Challenge from Domi. This cute card just fell together, love that when it happens.

The papers are Papermania and image from LOTV just about fitted in the mat made by the Cherish round the page punches. I've also used the round sentiments from LOTV.  I confess there's extra flower and I needed to put on a bit ribbon somewhere but I'm sure you'll forgive me.

It's our 100th Challenge on High Hopes Challenge and we've invited some past Divas to join us on a Blog Hop and the to join in with the Anything Goes challenge.

I made a gatefold card cos I thought it would be quick and easy but I didn't reckon on the time it took to layer all the sides.
I've used Cosmo Cricket Pixe-licious, just got some pages left and my funky flower punches was working hard for this card

Now here is the inside see what I mean all the different sides. I used the sweet mice from the  High Hopes Autumn release from Laurie Furnell.

A New Nellie

I'm started to love Digi's instant downloads and in this case the new girls. I think they're gorgeous but when you reduce the size you're compacting the shadows making them darker and I'm not sure if they like being 3d.
This is Faith and she seems to be a bit sad so I instantly felt the card should be a Thinking of you and in my craftroom I also thought the card shouldn't be cluttered but seeing it here now it looks a bit plain.
The sketch is from Sketch Saturday and the papers are a download from Sweet Shoppe Designs.
I stepped on the scales today, not pleasant, so it's carrots and lettuce till Easter, yuck.

Butterflies, bows and buttons

Yesterday I thought I had plenty of time to craft but by the time I had finished this cards daylight was gone, so this morning I had to wait till it was sort of light enough to take a picture.
There is a fabulous sketch over on Friday Sketchers which I have used here and it Anything goes on Just Magnolia with the option of buttons, which you can see that I sewn on three dinky buttons.
The papers are from My Minds Eye and the butterflies are Martha Stewart punch and the sentiment is from Woodware.
I still trying to find Mr Mojo so I threw everything I like to use on this card and it didn't come out too bad after all.

Penny Black Puddy Cat.

Now I truly know the Christmas Holidays are over with our first Penny Black Saturday Challenge of 2011 and its for New Beginings which is perfect for the New Year.
I nearly used the Hedgie that Nat and Joey used but remembered this cute little puddy cat swinging on the moon which I think works well for a baby card. I decided on these colours cos sometimes you hear about a New Baby and you're not always sure if it a girl or boy, especially if my Mum tells you, she gets easily confused so this card would work great for that.
The papers are Fine and Dandy from My Minds Eye and I used brought flowers for change but still punched some stamens for the inside. I've also distressed round the image so the white card doesn't stand out among the papers that look more like cream.

A Gem of a Sketch

 Some good news over A Gem of Challenge we've decided to make it a two weekly challenge and we have a new DT member Sandra, along with two GDT Caroline and Katie. To start the year we have a prize from Letraset but remember you only have two weeks to join in.
Now its my month to Host the next two challenges and the first one is a sketch so this is my sketch but tarted up by Janet of Pink Gem Designs.

I've used the cute Kaya with flowers, you can find her here.  The papers are American Crafts, I had to use the Cherish border from Martha Stewart, the floral embossing folder is a cuttlebug, ribbon and lace out of my stash. The sentiment is Pink Gem Designs too.

A Bunny Falling

Yes you need sunglasses again since I've got the Delovely papers out again, this time for the LOTV challenge which is a favourite this time A Sketch. But I did have some issues and one of the flowers is hiding it.
I had this cute little bunny for ages and he never got used till now. The flowers are Nellie something punches but I thought they almost look like the ones on the main patterned paper.

My exciting life took me shopping for a Shredder and plastic boxes for the Christmas decs but did enjoy the cheese and biscuits in the evening, will probably have to have them again as we try to eat them before their best before date runs out.

I like to thank everyone for hugs and wishes, its terrible sad, my very good friend has lost her daughter in tragic circumstances.

A Sugar Wedding

 Running really late this morning, waiting for daylight to take a photo, unfortunately I'm still waiting. So I have to take in semi light and it seems to take the edge of the pretty colours.
I'm still trying to find my Mojo and hoped that this cute Sugar Nellie Wedding couple would help along with the Kaiser papers. I've used the fab Sketch from Sketch and Stash but I feel I've made a nice card but it doesn't have the WOW factor.
I've added a bit of lace so that will work with the challenge on Papertake Weekly too.

We had some sad news yesterday even my BIL who dropped Hubby off last night was very shocked, I don't think though at the moment I can even start to blog about it.

WOYWW 2011

Well there's not much point showing whats on my workdesk wednesday cos its tidy since Old Father Time took my mojo when he saw the Old Year out.
But I'm hoping this little pile of Stash from Simon Says Stamps will help, love the spotty flowers from Hero Arts and yes that is a distressing blending tool I'm gradually buying one for the colours I use a lot, so I probably only need three!
Theres also some fabby stamps from Crafty Individuals that I won on Truly Scrumptious.
The decorations down but the Christmas table cloth is still out and so our my Christmas Salt and Pepper pots.
So I must now get off this PC and make a card or I will have nothing to show you tomorrow.

You're Leaving to have a Baby

So is a brand new year of challenges over on Simon Says Stamps Challenges and what better to start the year with a NEW challenge.
I've recently used the WOJ Mother and Baby so I decided to use this Mum to be WOJ and I love using the chair stamp which I paper pieced.
The papers are Basic Grey Majorlaine but they gave me a bit of headache when it came to putting flowers on  cos it hid the papers, so I decided to put some pearls on the leaves but I'm not sure whether its because theres no flowers but I'm not sure whether this is too plain.
Now Simon Says Stamps has a fab collection of WOJ stamps and they stock Basic Grey Majorlaine in both 12 inch and 6 inch packs.

The prize now is now a whopping $50

Welcome Little One

This is the last week of the Christmas Break for High Hopes Challenge blog and next week its our 100th challenge so lots of things going on to celebrate so don't forget to join us.
Now this little darling Boy Binky Monkey is helping my circle card to stand and even though the writing looks crooked  its not, I'm so going to sack the photographer (whoops thats me).
For baby boy cards I've a selection of random papers of similar shade and in there is this cloud paper and to split it up I used my MS picket fence and then used some matching gingham.
I used the largest nesties to make the frame so you can imagine this is tiny card but its so cute.

Happy New Year

At last life returns to normal and the Christmas Holidays are finished for another year. Things are back to nomal at Everybody Art Challenge with A New Year Challenge.
I love this Penny Black stamps works for every celebration you can think about and I used the bright papers Just a Boy from Echo Park.
Also love my cherish punch and I can't see myself stopping from using it anytime soon, the stars are punches with some smaller ones from the sticker sheet that came with the papers. I made the sentiment on the PC and because I don't send New Year cards the card below is what it looks like with a Birthday greeting and now it will work for a pesky mans card.

Tilda Angel

I was going to make her into a Thank You card since there is a few challenges for that but I didn't think this Tilda would work so she became a Thinking of You card instead.
I used the sketch on Friday Sketches but with half a sheet of this double sided patterned paper it was a bit tricky which why I made a frame for one of the mats.
Its Anything Goes on Just Magnolia which I find is harder than a challenge but it works for this card.
I've just had look at the card and it looks a bit wonky, which is really odd cos I've checked the card and its all straight something strange is going on inside my camera.
I was hoping to catch up with all the fabulous entries for the Favourite Five of 2010 but with Hubby home and wanting the decorations down and he's not known for his packing skills, I will have to supervise. But don't worry I shall be checking out every single one, who needs craft magazines when there's amazing talent linking to my post.
