Pretty in Pink

The Ismaki #15 sketch immediately said a large card and I knew I wanted to use the new Joanne Sheen stamps I brought on Sunday the idea being for a couple of Anniversary cards but the person that they're going to reads my blog so that will be another secret project. I paperpieced her dress with BG sugared, the background is printed vellum that has been stuck underneather the ribbon and the cuttlebug corners helped to hold it down too. The letters are some foam stamps that was a gift that I thought I would never use just proves never to throw anything away. The saying is a rub on.

Happy Birthday Mr Grumpy and seeing as I have a disney cartridge with the dwarfs I wasn't going to miss out using Grumpy for a birthday card for Mr Grumpy himself.

Ribbon Mondays

So where did yesterday go, first I had DH under foot the plan was that he was going to be out in the garden and those light showers turned into heavy ones nearly all day. DH asked if there was anywhere I wanted to go but funny enough Ally Pally wasn't an option but did managed to get him to take me to the Crafty Cow at Seale which is open on Sundays. So I'm now the proud owner of some Laura Ashley papers.

It took a while to tidy my room after the secret project and I shuffled papers and photos for MIL book which wasn't working so I made Tilda & Co challenge card using ribbon and Daisy D's papers. The stamps are from a Scrap-gogo kit. DH has worked out how to get the DVD player to work on his own and I ended up watching Pirates of Caribbean again.

Butterfly

The DCM challenge was for butterflies, and I may have one or two butterfly stamps, this one is a Friend's stamp and I confess uninked one that was brought at Newbury last July. I used versamark and white embossing powder on Autumn leaves paper and I did the same on the Stampin up doodle flower as well. I used Di Hickman April#2 sketch by using the cuttlebug swiss dots.
Last double LO from Lynn and another to go in MIL book, this used Scenic Route, probably one of my scrapbooking favourites. If you click on it, its should show a larger image.

At last the secret project is finished and took me all day yesterday now but it will be a while before I can show it. Now onto MIL book.

Cute Card Saturday

For Cute Card Thursday the challenge is Things with wings, so I chose this PSX fairy, I layered her and used accent beads for centre of the flower. Now I knew she was going to be a circle or oval and I knew there was going to be scallops. I used BG sugared paper but when she sat on the square piece of card I knew it wasn't right and suddenly the sketch CPS #59 which I've been staring at all week fell into place.
This weekend is H for my a-z journal but its going to have to wait I have MIL book, a secret project and some cards that all have to be finished by the end of April.

Cooking with Tilda

First sorry about the fuzzy photo, the Tilda & Friends ATC challenge was a cooking menu, 1 bow, 2 flowers, 3 colours and 4 brads or gems. Already had this Tilda coloured and decided to make a little posy with the bow and flowers.
Another LO from the class we had with Lynn the Bazzill Queen, finally finished. Now looking at it I think I would have preferred to swop the titles places but they're firmly glued. I've used pics of DD over the years for the MIL book. Still have about 4 DLO to go then its finished.

Spring!

I really struggled with this Ismaki sketch, don't think it was the sketch more to do with me, I wanted to use this stamp but I never seem to colour Penny Blacks stamps that well so I think I tried to avoid doing it. I used prismcolours, they seemed to work well and I haven't put a sentiment on it yet because so many occasions would work with the card.
This is the card I sent to Annie whose birthday was Monday, check out her blog there's some blog candy waiting to be won. Also check out Janet's blog she won my candy and there's a stunning card which she made with it.

Sunny Surrey

On the Papertake weekly Challenge is another marvellous tutorial from Claudia for a gift box. After working out how its made I managed to shrink the measurements to make this little ATC box for my Tilda & friends ATC challenges. I used double sided Scenic Route papers so the inside is pretty too.
As you can see there's plenty of room for some more ATC's
DCM little extra was for a fold on your card now I know I had some patterns for teabag folding but I couldn't find them, so I had to do a search and found this butterfly on Card Inspirations, his body is a Scrap-a-gogo stamp with a bit of bling. Not sure if its worked out as well as I wanted, I usually start with the idea like butterfly and rest builds up from there not sure that happened as well as it should.

What a great award sent to me by Smriti, now I have to choose five blogs.

That's life

Well life got in the way of crafting and yesterday evening I still haven't started any of the challenges that I love doing and I was at my Sister's with no craft stuff. So I borrowed her Tilda stamp and some scraps out of her scrap box while she watched her soaps, I have obviously been over there far too much lately I'm starting to know the names of the characters! So the challenge over Tilda & Co is stitching, I was going to do faux stitching but Sis brown pen was too light so I settled on actual stitching. I used watercolour pencils to colour the image and that yellow ribbon is really orange so how its managing to look yellow I have no idea. Congrats to my SBS8 sister Fran who won the Tilda & Co challenge last week.
Remember the Daring Cardmakers challenge card I posted on Saturday, the one that Kathy agreed with me that I cheated well I've been looking at it most of the weekend and if I didn't do something with it soon it would find itself in the bin. What a difference a bit of pink card can make and now I will use it.

Monday again.

This is a card I made for a friend's son, I used glossy accents on the bubbles and his sunglasses, the papers were from some blog candy from Fran. The stamp is Whipper Snapper.

A couple of pics of the snow from yesterday our weather can't decide what it wants to do, Friday we went in short sleeves and yesterday wearing several layers. Actually this snow was almost gone by mid-day and the afternoon was a bit chilly but plenty of sunshine. We rarely get snow in Surrey so this is quite a novelty for us, wouldn't what it all the time. Sis picked me up in the afternoon and has my crop bag was packed while waiting for the boys to finish work I've almost finished two double layouts.

CPS#58

Now while I was blog hopping I notice some blogs were using a particular sketch and found out that I was probably the last person to find CPS sketch blog, this one is sketch#58 when I saw it I knew I had to use the butterflies and that my new stamp from Stampendous would work well together. Also while blog hopping I notice the colours turquoise and brown work really well together. I stamped the stamps with moonlight brilliance then embossed on the back of the vellum to make it stand out more.

Now this is what I will be doing today Scrapbooking at the crop at Mychett Community Centre if not I will be probably chatting and laughing. These two pages are finished LO's from one of the classes with Lyn the Bazzill Queen at the Creative Scrapbooking Company, this was my FIL and two more pages for MIL book.
edited crop cancelled due to snow, the roads haven't been gritted even though there was a weather warning.

Blue skies Saturday.

Cute Card Thursday challenge is Transport, now I do have some vehicles stamps but not sure if they're cute. But while checking out my Favs blogs saw that Fran had used a motorbike that I knew my sister had now while I didn't want to copy Fran it reminded me that my sister also had a VW beetle stamp. On Thursday I was over my sister house with an inkpad and the pattern paper, I already knew I was going to have a floral car, then I remembered I needed some white card and some acetate for the layers, could I find anything, my sister had tidy up her craft room couldn't find anything it took longer to find stuff in her room then it did to stamp the image. Doodlebug papers again and some white punched flowers.
Sorry the white looks Pink blame the photographer, the Friday DCM challenge is for white space you could only use 5cm by 5cm of space on the card and was allowed a sentiment strip. For the card I used A5 piece of card folded in half, I may have cheated slightly with the quickcutz flourishes but the flower is definitely 5cms. Not sure if I like all the white space.

So tomorrow its Scrapbuddies crop and according to weatherman winter is coming back tomorrow so I better wear my thermals.

ATC

Well yesterday the challenge on Tilda & Friend ATC was for checks which stumped me for a while. I really think ATC should be bigger they are so tiny. The papers are used are from Kirsty Wiseman, she offered than free ages ago, unfortunately I don't think she has them there anymore. I printed then out quite small and stamped my magnolia stamp on it, love the dinky checks.
Many thanks to Debbie for awarding Arte Y Pico to me which reminded that Julie did the same last week and I haven't choosen any blogs, I blame the fact I was under the weather last week so here goes.

There are 5 rules attached to this and they are:
1) You have to pick 5 blogs that you consider deservethis award for their creativity, design, interestingmaterial, and also contributes to the bloggingcommunity, no matter what language.
2) Each award has to have the name of the author andalso a link to his or her blog to be visited by everyone.
3) Each award winner has to show the award and putthe name and link to the blog that has given her or himthe award itself.
4) Award-winner and the one who has given the prize have to show the link "Arte Y Pico" blog, so everyone will know the origin of this award.
5) To show these rules.

1) Scrapdolly I love Karen's pages long before I started Scrapbooking

2) Kelly who needs our help.

3)Gwen fantastic cards.

4)Fran love that we have the same taste in stamps.

5) Leann simply because her puns make me laugh she makes fab cards too.
Of course this is only a tiny few whose blogs I read.
Just a reminder that I will be drawing the blog candy at 10.30am BST tomorrow morning so if haven't yet left on a comment here you need to do it today.

It's a bit green

So for this weeks Papertake Weekly challenge is to use scallops or zigzags or both. I settled using the nestabilities for the scallops and some new doodlebug papers that I brought on Saturday, I think I got carried away with the doodling. Love the ribbon and card strip saw this on Bea's blog and wanted to give it a go. The sentiment is HOTP stamped with versamark and used some white embossing powder. There's a new challenge on Tilda & Friends ATC challenges need to put my thinking cap on.

Ismaki#13

So at Ismaki blog Petra has designed the sketch for us to use this week, so this was ideal for using some of the items that I brought on Saturday, I already had the Francoise Read Oriental girls stamps but I brought the cherry blossom stamp from Stampendous and the swirls are a quickcutz revolution die that I've used in the cuttlebug. The papers are the new BG sugared which leads me to my blog candy, these are the papers in the pad not the actually ones in the candy, I just happened to make sure I brought two. Now if you haven't already please leave a comment here you have till Friday.
My G page for my A-Z journal, thanks to my team-mate on UKS who sent me some map papers a while ago, I've used them for this double spread and I'm really pleased how it turned out. I purposely left some areas clear so you read the surrounding towns and the pics were off the internet. Rather than used word strips again I used discs with bits about the photo's, really pleased to find pic of the Odeon and Harvey's rooftop garden they were a big part of my childhood.
On UKS they preparing for a cybercrop 25th -27th April, its loosely based on the Oscars so when you register you find out what team you are on, I just couldn't believe it but I'm a Drama Queen, stop sniggering Sister, the only consolation is that Fairy Karen is one TOO.

Homely Girl

I wasn't going to do the Tilda & co challenge this week cos they wanted you to use to two Magnolia stamps to make one image, how could you do that to a cute Tilda. Anyway I had Martha the Goblin on my desk and I thought well her face is cute and decided to give her makeover, it reminded me of the song Homely Girl by the Chi-lites (yes I'm that old and yes I have the record!) The papers are from Fran's blog candy that I received which leads me nicely about my candy, now don't forget to leave a comment on my previous post for my blog candy. Noticed I haven't put a closing date so I will do the draw on Friday so it can be parcelled up and ready for posting on Monday 7th.

Blog Candy and Di Hickman Challenge

When I saw the Di Hickman sketch, I had some idea what I wanted to do, I wanted a large image to use as the strips so that you could still see the whole picture. The only paper I could find is this K&Co paper that I've been hoarding for ages, then I didn't want to put too much on it to spoil the paper so an idea was formed to use acetate, the word stamp is autumn leaves, ribbon to hold it place, also a spot of glue under the butterfly that was cut out of a scrap of the same paper.
Sis didn't have to look after J yesterday so she rang and said she would pick me up at 10am and that she left a message for Nikki to be at my place if she wanted to come too, at this point we hadn't decided where to go. Eventually I decided to take Sis to somewhere where she hadn't been so off to Craft U love at Charlwood near Gatwick actually its about 40 minutes from Guildford. They were so friendly made us a tea or coffee, let us use the loo very important, they have a huge display of die cutting, quickcutz, cuttlebug and the cricut, loads of other stuff too good job I remembered my pin number for the CC. I then convinced Sis that the Glitter Pot was only half an hour away, only slightly lied it was another 40 minutes, well poor Nikki and she really is poor now was amazed how many stamps they had. Oh by the way as soon as they get an online order they're out in the shop collecting those stamps before anyone else buys them. Now on the way out I told Sis that The Craft barn was only another 40 minutes away was stunned when she OK bearing in mind we didn't have a map and I only a RAC route for the first two craft shops which by the way was rubbish I'm surprised we only got lost once. The Craft Barn has had a bit of facelift, freshly painted, sofa for those men in your life that begrudgingly takes you craft shopping, it felt light and airy and had amazing selection of scrapbook papers and although not so many stamps still lots of various manufactures. OK now I'm poor too.
Finally has a way of a Thank You for visiting my blog some Blog Candy, there's Sugared Basic Grey 6 inch pad, a new Tilda stamp, the image to show which stamp is stamped with my stamp, you don't think I'll give one of mine away, some ribbon and some flowers out my stash. Now all you need to do it comment on this post and everyone will go in the draw.
