Glowing Candles

A few weeks ago Hubby asked if I wanted to go anywhere and I made him take me to The Glitter Pot where I brought the last Glowing Candles die from Memory Box. Well here's the card I made using it.
I cut several of them out the first one making sure the insides stay connected so another cut out without the insides could be stuck over the top. I also cut everything away leaving just the solid leaves on another cut out.
The flowers could be a Stampin Up punch and I used the Floral Oval with the centre out which was then stuck onto another oval to give it the look of the frame.
I've had a few quiet days to get over my busy few days in fact I haven't been in my craftroom for nearly a week and it looks like it will be a few more days before I do. Today I'm swimming, tomorrow I have an all day crop and Sunday looks like it going to be a busy too. A bit of luck I will be chopping at the bit to get in there and Mr Mojo won't have been magicked away by a Wizard's spell
I loved the Making of Harry Potter and I wouldn't mind going again it was fascinating. It was more remarkable that some friends I haven't seen of absolutely ages were there too.

Shucks

I think I've been neglecting my Mo's images especially has I've lots of new ones to be coloured and when I saw Shucks I knew I would love to colour her. I've kept the colours fairly subtle well I tried very difficult for someone who loves vibrant colours.
I used the LOTV paper pack from Nitwits and some of my favourite dies, the MFT Crochet border for around the mat and the Cuttlebug corners not sure is still available and finished with Upsy Daisy die from MFT and the leaves are CC Designs.
I'm pretty sure I used the sketch from Friday Sketch Challenge but I added a sneaky ribbon across the middle.

My friend like my cards at a jaunty angle but I find it always hit and miss whether I get the angle right but if I remember I'll try.

Embossing Dry/Heat

So onto my large card well the Stamping Bella Brett and Brenda Get Married image needed a large card caused a bit of a headache to use the embossing folders cos I need to join them up. First the folders I used the Anna Griffin Foundry folder from Cuttlebug but I see you've got there first and its out of stock at the moment but don't worry there are loads of beautiful Anna Griffin folders to choose from.

If there is one folder you must have is the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots which I have used top and bottom its great not only making a plain space look interesting but it great for running punched or die cut flowers in

I also used the Spellbinders Radiant Rectangle for my image mat and the La LaLand filigree corners. The flower spray was made up with using the Memory Box Madera Corner and Tender Leaves and the flowers are MFT Upsy Daisy dies.
Phew that was bit of list of what I've used.

Butterflies and Pearls

I was lucky to be sent some fabulous new Simon Says Stamp Exclusive for their Stamptember event and I spent the whole day just playing with the new dies and stamps.

This is one of the cards I made using the new Circle Card Border die, it cut out the white border and I used the waste to cut the butterfly papers from American Crafts My Girl to fit underneath. I didn't throw the waste away but used it to make another card but thats for another day.
I also used the Whimsy embossing folder from Lifestyle with some added pearls.
To finish off I using a couple of Leanna Butterfly from Simon says Stamps and also using their All Occasion Banner and stamp set.

You've Pulled

A layout I've recently made using some photos I was given to make a Mini Book for but that meant I was able to get some photos of my exclusive son.
He went on a Stag do in Dublin and it only right to do the tour of Guinness something my husband would love to do.
I pretty sure the papers are My Minds Eye but I was stuck for embellishments and it was Hubby who said to used Guinness pictures.

Santa Stop Here

We have a sketch on Everybody Art Challenge this week but of course some of us are pushing the limit a bit my using a circle of snowflakes for the circle.

I've used the cute James the bear from LOTV not sure whose the paper pack from but the snowflakes are Martha Stewart punch and I also used the Icicle punch.

Loads of Flower soft and Fun Flock mixture used for hat and snow and then I smothered as much as I could with glamour dust myself included.

This one was suppose to be at a jaunty angle got that one wrong.
Hope Mr Blogger has schedule this on time cos I away for a couple days finishing off with a visit to Harry Potter courtesy of David who brought it for us for Christmas.

Christening Card

So yesterday my little Great Nephew was christened and we had a lovely afternoon tea afterwards. Of course I had to make a special card for the occasion.
The actual picture is in fact Mason's hand but I'm not sure which parent is holding him, the pic is one of several my niece sent me but I changed the colour to sepia.
I then used the last blue papers from Echo Park Devoted pack along with some Crumb Cake from Stamping Up. I used a Martha Stewart PATP for the outside mat but I had to cut it down to fit the card but the ribbon manages to hide some of the join.
Memory Box hearts they are so handy and the buttons are MFT dies and I have this thing that you can't stick buttons on unless they are threaded.
The sentiment is from LOTV, hope my niece and her hubby like it.

Lawn Fawn Christmas

I made two cards for the Simon Says Stamps Challenge but decided this was bit like the one I made the other week using Paper Smooches but that doesn't mean I can't blog it later.
So you can see I've used the Memory Box Country Landscrape, Woodland Branch and also the Tall Birch Tree but I also used the Simon Says Stamp Star border die that I managed to match the stars when I run the die through twice. Of course you could just buy the Falling Stars die which would have made life so much easier.
I used the sentiment from the the Simon Says Stamps Holiday Labels stamp set.
Not forgetting the Winter Owl from Lawn Fawn and I used a white pen for my faux stitching.

Diet Log

I'm scheduling this post because my week has just got worse as Mr Virgin-Broadband flies in and out. I don't want to leave my Penny Black Saturday Challenge Team-mates in the lurch tomorrow so while he's flown in I'll try and do my challenge post.
So the challenge is for Anything but a card so I copped out as usual and made a Notebook cover. Made it into a diet log that way I could use this cute Penny Black cow which just so happened that I picked her up in Hobbycraft in a bargain box.
As you can see the camera is hates me too and made her wishy washy but I will check my memento pad in case its drying up. The papers are First Edition and I used the MFT Triple Scallop borders, my Woodware Daisy punch. The letters are Memory box like them a lot they cut the small letter much better than my cricut.

Bit of luck Mr Virgin-Broadband will fly in and decide to stay tomorrow otherwise I guess its yet another phone call to have a moan.

The royal He

I'm still on my CAS run this time I used this style for a Mo's card. When I saw the cute The Royal He I knew I had to have him so love Mo's babies.
This actually started as the Sketch and Stash sketch but as you can see I went right off track with the added spotty banner.
The hearts are Memory box I did try them as dotty ones but it didn't look right. My biggest problem I had run out of fun flock, I had the pot of the fun flock and flower soft mix which I have already mixed and ready to use. But I was sure I had some fun flock on its own to make the ermine on the cloak.
So I had to put my mixture on it so I got fluffy bit rather than a smooth finished and yes since making this card I've found not one but two jars of fun flock.
The sentiment is Stampin Up Petite pairs which was lined up with the stampin me jig.
The saga of the burst pipe continue through the day has a hole appeared about two foot wide but about 4ft in depth, deep enough for a small child to fall in. And water attracts them like a moth to a flame.
So I rang 3 times, my neighbour rang the same, several other people rang including the Councillor for the area. I spent most of the day answering the door and asking children its probably best not to play with it. I was exhausted.
At 1am they arrived to fix it, 3.30am 24 hrs they started to fix it. Now I have an even larger hole with proper barriers round it and it should be filled by the end of Monday. And no I didn't get a good night sleep but I will tonight.

Poinsetttia

I was going to use this for my Less is More challenge card cos the Poinsettia is indeed a rubber stamp and from Penny Black too, along with sentiment.
But in the back of my mind I believe I've used this for the challenge before. This time though I've used the Inkylicious ink brushes. I do find them easy than the blending foam although I still have the same issue of overdoing the ink but it OK with the poinsettia.
I wish now I tried a different colour than the obvious red maybe a pretty blue or shocking pink, nevertheless that another for the Christmas box that actually goes in normal post.

Merry Dotty Christmas

I'm still thinking of quick Christmas cards not sure this ticks the box but the challenge on Less is More is to use a rubber stamp, added that its being sponsor by one of my favourite stamp manufacturers Penny Black. It seemed only right I used one and this one is a slapstick called Circle and Lines its possibly never been used or if it has probably only once. I stamped in grey so it would look more silver and then I coloured them in with glitter gel pens to make them sparkle ( of the camera doesn't pick this up)
I wanted something differen than a fishtail banner but couldn't find one that fitted this sentiment which I wanted to use but found a die with this rounded end and added a Martha Stewart Holly punch just to take the starkness away.
Can't help thinking its a bit boring!
Well I've been awake since 3.30 when I decided I needed to go to the bathroom while there I could hear a funny noise (it wasn't me) but at that moment I was too tired to care till morning. I settled back into bed trying to get comfy when I could hear water like it was raining and it was running into the drains.
My first thought those blasted weathermen had got it wrong again cos no rain was forecasted for today if fact it should another marvellous hot, sunny day.
So up I got to peer out the window, yes the road was wet but not up the road and or halfway down, in fact water was pouring out from under our car on the drive. Yes indeed the water pipe that was fixed last year with the largest hole you ever saw as burst again.
And who is Affinity and what does that have to do with water and whats wrong with just plain Water Board. By this time I'm wide awake I did try to get back to sleep but it will be an early night to bed tonight.

Bit of cheat using my Winter Owl from Lawn Fawn since they're birds not animals but hopefully I've got away with it. Also I saw that someone had used two owls one with googly eyes and one not on Pinterest so I thought I would give that it a go.

I'm trying to multi use stamps that have been made for a different purpose like this owl is called Winter Owl and is made for Christmas cards so I decided to turn the tables and make it for an everyday card. That is why I made a little scene for the owls to sit on branch over.

First off the Tall Birch Tree and the Woodland Branch are both from Memory Box so is the Country Landscape that I paper pieced the green trees and I nearly forgot so is the mini scallop but I can't find it in the shop but there is one from My Favourite Things.

Blast I can't remember the papers I think the blue chervons is from Doodlebug Stars and Stripes and the dotty is from Lilybee Design. Finished with a Simon Says StampTilted Banner sentiment from the matching stamp set.

Something for Wednesday Morning

Remember last weeks Simon Says Stamp card I had to change the flowers to white ones well this is what happened to the orange flowers.
I saw this sketch and thought it would work but didn't realise that the sketchy came from Merry Monday and it was for a Christmas card. So there was no urgency to post it since I wasn't adding it to the challenge but it is a good sketch.
The papers are Authentique and the flowers are Simon Says Stamps Bella Bloom and the leaves are CC Designs. Not sure whose the sentiment from but I just made the fish tail end with a square punch.

Wagon Wheel

My daughter's friends Baby Boy has arrived and at some point this will be handed over.
Granny squares and Baby Blankets are ideal for me cos they are not too heavy to work on. This  pattern is called Wagon Wheel I possibly found in on Ravelry.
But I did have to alter it some what because the holes were large enough for tiny feet and hands to get trapped in.
From the centre the first white round were longer than I've done and the next white round have 6 chains in the corner so I made that 3 instead.

I have  a pink one on the go now but its a different pattern and theres lot more white but it does look like I may have worked out how to do petals.

Happy Birthday

Well by now we all realise it September and school holiday are over but one good thing is Everybody Art Challenge is back after their Summer break. We start with a nice a easy challenge to get everyone back in the swing Happy Birthday.
I haven't used a Saturated Canary image for a while and since this little sweetheart is in my waiting pile of coloured images it was time to use her. It does help to use the new pretty paper pack from LOTV with Nitwits.
Now there would be something I'm not happy with and that will be the camera again cos its wiped out the colours in her hair.
The flowers are in my stash and the swirl is MFT. The sketch is Sweet Sketch Wednesday and one person in our house will be pleased no ribbon.

Winter Fairy Pyry

I've still got Christmas inside my head possibly panicking because I'm aware of a holiday in October thats going to wipe out a couple of weeks and a very busy few days ahead that will wipe me out for some more days afterwards.
Luckily Mo has been busy and I've some new images to play with including this Winter Fairy Pyry.
To start with I had a sketch but no idea from now and I'm pretty sure it finished anyway. The papers are Doodlebug and since I love the Holly paper so much I actually gutted it so I have the middle to use again. I've also used a Memory box wreath type die but left the centre in to stamp the sentiment and cut another to lay on the top. Once again my favourite border to die from MFT to go round the oval and I used their snowflakes too.
Then came the tricky part first I used glossy accents on the icicles on her wings with a bit of glitter, when it was dry I then used the flower soft and fun flock for the fluffy headband and her boots, normally I wouldn't use it all over her boots but there was a dirty mark and lucky for me the fluffy stuff hides it.
Yesterday I had a great day Simon Says Stamps recently sent me some of their new exclusives for me to join in with some of the amazing things they have going on this month. But it back to my list today.

Freshly Made Sketch

At Wednesday lunchtime I get a phone call asking for an engagement card and they needed it Friday since I was out all day Thursday and if I used certain types of glue I would need a whole day for it to dry it needed to made that day.
So I warned the person it would be have to CAS not only that but quick too. I made two in the end the first one was my idea which I'll publish another time and this one using the Freshly Made Sketch for this week.
First the heart embossing folder that I used I have had it now many years, originally it came in a set with some dies which I've never used, I also think it has been retired.
I used the large Holiday Shapes from Simon Says Stamps dies for the hearts and All Occasions sentiments for the fishtail banner which was made using a square punch. The strips are Echo Park possibly True Love but don't hold me to that I remember it was their Valentine pack.
Given the choice this is the one that was chosen because the other one had ribbon on, I was devastated that my signature trademark wasn't appreciated!
