Tilda and Wedding Photos

I've used the gorgeous sketch on Just Magnolia from Mina, it's great for snowflakes. I did cheat a bit because the ribbon and border should really go under the mat but I needed something for Tilda to sit on. The papers are Bo Bunny and the spotting one it Kaiser. I was going to put a sentiment on the tab but love the snowflake on it.
Just a few pics of my niece who has a special place in my heart. I was only eleven when she was born and I remember telling everyone she was going to be a girl, I even crochet a pink poncho (it was fashionable at the time) before she was born.
Even though the weather was awful nothing could take away how beautiful she looked and even a power cut didn't spoil the day.

First I need to apologise for not getting around the blogs the last couple of the days, that is because yesterday was The Big Wedding, with only few months of planning its here.
Here is the card I made for them, Ok the green ribbon sticks out like a sore thumb but that's the camera is not so in you face in RL. Papers are Happily Everyafter by Cosmo Cricket and any excuse to use the fabulous stamps from WOJ.
The flowers are from Wild Orchid and meant I had to make a box, not a good idea with a headache, I always manage to get the lid wrong and it takes several attempts to get it right, probably why I don't make them that often.
So here's to the Happy Couple, Louise and Neil, may all your dreams come true.
This is Cain Manor where the Wedding took place and where we stayed overnight, you hire the whole house including bedrooms which you still have to hire even if you don't use them. Breakfast is going to be a 9am prompt and we're having it altogether, not sure how many of us are going to up for a Full English after a long night partying.

Moo-tastic Christmas

It's a double whammy challenge on Penny Black Saturday Challenge, not only a Man's card but for Christmas too. I so want to put a gem in the middle of the pinwheel snowflakes but it starts making the cards a bit girly but they so need something. The papers are Pebbles, I've only scraps left now but I determined to use them all up. The sentiment is computer generated and I've used an awful lot of glamour dust which I seem to be permanently wearing at the moment.
I loving being a Guest Designer especially has I know an amazing secret but you're gonna have to wait till next week and don't forget to check out the DT amazing creations too.
While writing this I've had a lightbulb idea, buttons!
Off to THE BIG WEDDING today good job the idea of a Marquee was scraped early on because I don't think it would have been there this morning.

Four Seasons

There's a great challenge on Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge this week, it was Donna's choice for Seasons. Now you could pick one of the seasons or in my case I did or four.
That's because while hunting for a stamp for another challenge I found this branch stamp from Hobby Art and the idea of punching the flowers and leaves popped into my head. it's a great way to use scraps too.
I love those Cosmo Cricket papers and finished off with some chocolate ribbon and a few gems.

Glitter Santa

Fed up with Christmas Cards, sorry here's another one, it does help if you have a fab stamp to play with though, this one is from Pink Gem Designs.
I've used the sketch on Double Dutch and its white they have been stickled including the brads which means I can enter it in the Cute Card Thursday. The paper is Pebbles and the snowflake is from various dies. I keep looking at his hand and wish I had him holding Happy Christmas maybe I'll do that next time.
So today I'm getting ready for the Big Wedding tomorrow, the nails and hair to be sorted today which means I will miss the Postie who has my new Magnolias so who knows when I shall get my

hands on them.

I can't believe I haven't used the WOJ Santas and I've had them sitting on my desk for a few weeks now. I've used the sketch on Stamp with Fun and I distress the edges, yes I've had my Tim Holtz distresser out twice this week but its for the Everybody Art Challenge.
The papers are Glitz, lots of various dies to make the snowflakes and typically you can't see all the sparkle on them but the photographer has enough trouble taking photo's that doesn't look like they're on the Titanic without worry whether you can see the glamour dust.
I've checked how many Christmas cards I need and I've at least 60 to do and I'm starting to panic because I like them done by the 1st of December.

Thinking of You

Today is Remembrance day, so the challenge on Simon Says Challenge is Thinking of you. I now wish I left two of the flowers off my card cos they distract your eye from the image but once they're were glued that's it they're stuck for good.
I used a Penny Black stamp and yes that's Cosmo Cricket Happily Everafter again and the sentiment is Simon Says Stamps. Don't forget you can win $25 voucher to spend in Simon Says Stamp but you have to be in it to win it.

Ice Skating Mimi

It's no good waiting for the daylight to get better because it looks like its going to be a dark, murky day so with a little help from Photoshop I've today's card. It's using the fab sketch on Sketch Saturday and Ice Skating Mimi, from Pink Gem Designs not forgetting the Eskimo Kisses from Basic Grey.
I love my icicle punch from Martha Stewart especially when they've been glamour dusted, the large snowflake is Sizzix and have used diamond dust and the tiny snowflakes is a do-crafts punch from years back

Starry Cat

The sketch on Friday sketchers has a huge snowflake in the middle of the card but I couldn't find one the looked right to me, when I put the cute PB image in the centre so I had to settle for the star but I think is looks OK.
The paper is in a pack that as long since lost its wrapper, teeny tiny snowflakes and a craftwork cards sentiment to finish. The patchwork type of paper just didn't seem to allow me to put many embellishments on.
Had a fabulous day yesterday didn't do as much as I wanted but made a good start.
Wish both Sheila and FairyKaren a speeding recovery from the flu.

Not Distressing Again

So remember the film Home Alone with Macaulay Culkin running around the house waving his arms around and screaming, now imagine an overweight, forty something doing the same!
Ok it was only in my imagination but thats how I felt when I read the Just Magnolia challenge is for DISTRESSING.
Usually I go overboard with the distressing so I tried not to be so rough with the distressing tool and I think maybe this time it worked, I also inked the white cardstock with a matching inkpad. The background is some material I brought in Spain with words on in Silver, the Hubbies moaned that whether we go we still manage to find something crafty to buy. The die cut corners are to hide where I glue the material to the card, the lace I brought from Hobbycraft it wasn't cheap but I want some more, the pattern card stock is Basic Grey.
Hopefully Mr Blogger has behaved and posted this post, I'm off to Scrapbuddies crop at Mychett, to have a laugh and giggle and possibly do some scrapbooking.

Guest Design Team

So did you guess right, I'm the Guest on Penny Black Saturday Challenge and I've been bursting to tell for ages. Yes I blame this challenge for my addition to Penny Black stamps but I really happy about that, I've had some Penny Black stamps for ages that were lovely but rarely used.
This weeks challenge is Song title/Lyrics and I had one of those lightbulb moments to use this stamp which the stamp itself chose the colours. I've used Daisy Bucket papers, flower is out of my stash and I've used a McGill punch for branch, the scallops are a Stampin Up punch.
I've just checked out the post on Penny Black, oh my, what wonderful things Kath says about me, especially from a super talented lady like herself.
Do check out the challenge the DT is such a talented group.

Easel cards

I've been meaning to have a go at making an Easel card for a while and when I was told that this week Gina's chosen Easel cards for Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge I was really pleased. They are really easy to do, the measurements I had to make one was 4inches but I increased this to 5 inches otherwise the Sarah Kay image wouldn't of fitted.
The papers are Happily Everafter by Cosmo Cricket you may get fed up with these papers but I love them and I've still got quite a bit left from Pilar's book. The daisies are Woodware punches, the large one is 1 1/2inch yellow punch and the little ones are the 1inch green punch and I finally used the fabby pearl brads from Hobby House that I brought at Ally Pally.
My only problem with these cards is they will need a box to send them and they're awkward to photo.

Friday Friends

See no embellishments, just couldn't think what to put on it, funny thing is I quite like it. I did pop something on the corner and hated it so off it came.
The sketch is from Dawny P at Papertake weekly and the image is High Hopes. I wasn't going to cut the image out but got carried away colouring while watching telly and went over the edges. The papers are a free download from Summertime Designs and the sentiment is from Simon Says Stamps, I must check out their other sentiment stamps sets cos I've used this set so much.

Its been a real struggle this week my poor joints don't like our British weather and I didn't even venture in my craftroom yesterday. I'm also disappointed that I can't go to the NEC this weekend if only to meet the many of bloggers that are meeting up but really a long journey won't do me any good at the moment anyway.
But I shall cheer myself up that I've been invited as GDT for November on one of my favourite challenge blogs, this blog has encouraged me to use some stamps that I thought were gorgeous but I struggled to use.Only to find out that my colouring has improved so much over the years that I was so pleased how they're turned out that I'm now such addict that I can't leave a certain shop unless one falls in my basket.
No idea, you will have to wait till tomorrow to find out.

I love this cat and I can't believe its taken me so long to colour him in. I knew the Cosmo Cricket Happily Everafter papers would suit him but had to wait till I had used it for Pilar's book now thats done I've quite a bit left.
The Good Luck cat is from dream2stamp and there's some really cute winter stamps due out soon. The sketch is Everybody Art Challenge this week from Tina and a big congratulations to the new DT members especially pleased for Leonie and April Rose who I've been following for some time.
I'm having a tough time with embellishments at the moment, when I put them on the card I don't like it so I'm having to go with the simple look at the mo.
Another blog I follow is Jacque and look at her amazing candy, wouldn't you love this arriving at your door.

This weeks challenge on Simon Says Challenge is for Thanksgiving or a Thank you card. I've settle on a Thank you card. I think this WOJ image is pefect for this type of card and the sentiment from Simon Says Stamps is a great finishing touch.
The pattern paper is Basic Grey once I choose it I had awful trouble to do anything with it cos the paper was so fabulous and I couldn't bear to cover it, so it turned out quite simple. The big white flowers had yellow centres so I soon pulled that out and popped roses in the centre. The rose embossing is a cuttlebug folder and the corners are quickutz.
WOW there was an amazing number joining in the last challenge and don't forget there's a $25 voucher to win to spend in Simon Says Stamps.
Simon Says Stamps also have their own range of stamps which the DT have made some stunning creations and they've all been put into one blog which you can view from here, there's some amazing inspiriations all one place.

Tilda and Christmas Bells

I've had to wait for daylight to reappear after the awful weather we had here in the last few hours to photo this card using the sketch on today's A Spoonful of Sugar.
There's something not right with this card but I can't work out what's buggy me about it. The papers are My Minds eye and of course I used Tilda and the decoration and sentiment were in last years winter kit I think.
I seemed to have lost my motivation and my list of things to do is getting larger.
This amazing card came while I was on holiday from Timea she does fantastic work.

White Penny Black

I'm back but not feeling very crafty at all and when I saw the PB challenge of WHITE I almost fell into a panic but after I got over the shock my thoughts went to weddings especially as the Big Wedding is now less than two weeks away.
I had to rely on my favourite mice to help my mojo which as obviously been left in Spain, I knew this cute couple would help me make the card.
The heart embossing is a cuttlebug folder but came with a die for some words which I never use so this makes for an expensive folder but I don't regret buying it.
The flowers are my Woodware daisy punches, along with leone-em leaf punch and not forgetting the MS butterfly punch.
Now all I need is a camera that works with white there's still a tinge of blue instead of white.

So I had a fab time in Spain the weather was beautiful although we didn't see much of it the first few days as we were painting the apartment, we spent the rest of the time people watching in one of the few bars open on the front.
Sis was so surprised to see so many restaurants and bars closed for the Winter, having been out there nearly every half term with her kids she doesn't ever remember it so quiet.
But we didn't go hungry or thirsty we always managed to find somewhere nice to eat and drink.

Winter Wonderland

If you're reading this then I'm still in bed having a lie in after a long day coming home from hols yesterday. I don't want to miss out on the November's challenge By the Cute and Girly which is for Winter Wonderland and we're not just looking for cards.
This month I use the photos of my daughter trying to get her car off the drive to attempt to get to work when we had all that snow in February. You have to understand we don't get snow like this but the novelty soon wore off. I used cuttlebug snowflakes and used Diamond Dust on them too, although you can't quite see there's a border made with the icicle punch that I've glamour dusted too
Ever since I saw one of these on UKS last year I've wanted to have a go but it was at a time when I was stressing that I'didn't have enough Christmas Cards so it wasn't high on my list. This challenge was well timed.
The papers are October Afternoon, loads of snowflakes and the sentiment is a Woodware one. The numbers are rub ons but they're what I brought from WHS works out much cheaper. If you fancy making one the link for instructions are here.


When is a card not a card when I make it a picture album. I thought this would be great for my MIL, she doesn't get to see Hubby and the Kids that often so I thought it would be nice to send a card with the most up to date photos. I used Basic Grey Wassail papers, oh do I see the zigzag punch from MS again and the Holly is from Christmas Cheer Cricut cartridge.
