Carolling Penquins

A few choice words are coming to mind, I have just notice I forgot the flower soft and fun flock mixture for their hats, well I don't have time for it now off out later.
The penquins are of course Penny Black, I was already crossed with myself when I put the chaps together I forgot to stamp in black brilliance inkpad at least once so I got a good coverage for their bodies.
The idea of the caroling penquins was for Merry Monday challenge although I had no idea how to use them.
I still have the Lawn Fawn Christmas paper hanging around so I grabbed that and saw the printed strips which usually ends no where near a card but I thought it would be a good idea to use it. I did cut out the strips I didn't like.
In hindsight I should have perhaps finished the top of the patterned paper a bit better instead of being lazy.

SplitcoastStampers Sketch

I'm still playing with my January kit from Simon Says Stamp mainly an idea came to my head when I saw the sketch SCS525 on Splitcoaststamper. I decided to use snowflakes going across the card to make the border in the sketch, the snowflake in question is Simon Says Stamps Maryann.
Thinking about it now they would look better on a band of acetate to make it look like they are floating but that idea came to mind after I had stuc the snowflakes.
I stamped and embossed with clear powder the sentiment that came with the kit.
We got some white stuff falling from the skies yesterday but it was hail, it laid like snow and we had a good inch and bit. The stuff laid like snow luckily it soon melted away.

Freshly Sketch

I'm still struggling to make cards and I lost count how many times I had taken out the Simon Say Stamp January Kit, then put it back.
Anyway I saw the Freshly Made sketch#171 and decided it was time to cut the papers even if it was to make the fishtail banners using a square punch.
My favourite snowflake Alexis from Simon Says Stamps cut out twice and stuck together same for the little MFT button. The silver twine I've had for ages but will have to try and find some more, its nearly all gone.
The sentiment which hasn't photo properly something must have been reflecting against the bottom words is from the stamp set in the kit but available separately called Hand Lettered Winter Wishes.
I do love the Bo Bunny papers in this kit and I think I may have to get some more I have some pics from the Ice House that Hubby and I went to in London which would work brilliantly with them.

I decided to use the fabulous Winter Blooms from Clearly Besotted because you simply can't have enough flowers. There are two large images of flowers the one I didn't use was the snowdrops that was because I wanted to paper piece and this one suited the technique better.
I needed a sketch, its my security blanket at the moment so I turned to SplitcoastStampers card sketch of last week SC524.
I stamped my flowers using Kaiser Violet Crush on different papers and used the same papers to make the card. I felt the strip across the top was a bit plain so I added in black with the Simon Says Stamps Woodland Frame, the two longest parts just fitted.
I love the Sending die from Simon Says Stamps and because the black against the pink showed up well I didn't have to cut it out twice. I also love the sentiment from the Soaring for you, I haven't used any of the other stamps but constantly use this sentiment cos it can be used for so many different occasions.
To finish my flowers, I dotted the dots in the middle with a black pen and added a jet coloured pearl.

So now it's YOUR turn.  Happy Crafting

matchbox

I have made sure I have my DT cards this week and that included the new challenge on Everybody Art which calls for a Matchbox.
The problem with that I don't use matches that much and now that I brought two cooks matchboxes we are now inundated with them. Now you could google it and make your own, I found this one.
So I decided to add an easel card on top of my two matchboxes which did give me an odd size but has you can see it worked out in the end.
The papers are LOTV and the MFT grass die is my doorstep (heard someone on Create and Craft say that and thought it described it brilliantly)
My leaves are the Lavish Foliage cut to suit the card, the flowers are EK success punch and a small one from docrafts both I have had for years and years.
The adorable image is from Mo called Full Heart the little girl was easy to layer but all those hearts were fiddly to cut out and layer. It helped I cut some off with the circle die but then I wanted to use my favourite die from MFT round it haven't found anything that works out so well.

Here's another pic of the image part of the card.
Do pop over and check out the team's fabulous makes.

Hey Mr Tambourine Boy

Finally I do have a card it may be a bit pants but at least Mo's My Tambourine image saves it. My problem is motivation, I've prioritize DT work sometimes it flows into another card but sometimes I sit and move paper around till I give it up as a bad job.
I did make a card over the weekend which I can't show till they receive it and I made a layout which need photographing, so maybe I'm just being a bit hard of myself.
Anyway back to the card I've used the Friday Sketch, the papers are Kaiser and I've faux stitch everything sight. To finish I've used MFT musical notes.

Perfect Love

I'm still relying on sketches this one is from Sweet Sunday Sketch 252 and since I found my favourite love words from Simon Say Stamp Perfect Love. Apparently I had it in my scrapbooking bag for when I was doing some wedding layouts.

I also used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Squares and Bundle of Stitched Shapes. To finish I added the small heart and outline heart from the Simon Say Stamp Heart Doily with the added Holiday Shape Heart in a colour to match the words.

The background is a Penny Black Interlocking die which decided it would misbehave and several runs through the Bigshot told it I was in charge. I added pearls I could have used Liquid pearls but at this point I didn't think my patience to could be pushed that far.

Maybelle

Thank goodness for Sketches so they can inspire some creativity because mine is definitely up and down. This time I've used Sketch Saturday and one of the recent new images from Mo Manning a new fairy called Maybelle.
The papers are from LOTV and so is the stamped sentiment. At this point it looked far too plain, I know I'm into more CAS but there's CAS and there's CAS. So I get out my favourite leaf die Lavish Foliage from Memory Box and grabbed an old punch from EK success to make some tiny flowers with added pearls for the centres.
Since I cut through the top of her wand I added a glittered star and added glitter on her wings with the Wink of Stella clear glitter pen. Now it looks OK.

Have a Heart

Even I'm amazed how well this card turned out especially as card making has been a struggle lately. Of course after I made it I realised if I had moved down the stamped sentiment I could have added Sending using the new die.
First of all the papers are from a Simon Says Stamp kit and my little Penny Black chap is called Hot Pants and I have used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles to make the white mats and the small coloured ones.
My stitched heart was made using Simon Says Stamps Bundle of Shapes and the extra stamped hearts were using the Simon Says Stamps Surprise Party stamps and die set.
And because I love this sentiment I used Lots of Love again from the Soaring for You.
Annoyingly the camera doesn't show it but I used the Wink of Stella Clear Glitter pen over my balloons and cheekily over his pants!

So now it's YOUR turn.  Happy Crafting

Crochet

My daughter has already put this on her FB timeline and tagged me so I thought I better pop this on my Blog. I'm loving crochet at the moment and I can't keep making granny squares for blankets so my daughter suggested making toys.
I saw this book on C&C ages ago briefly has flicked through the channels which was selling it with some very expensive alpaca wool, then Jak made some, reminding me about the book. So brought it from Amazon its called Edward Managerie.
I can say there were times I nearly threw it in the bin especially has I realised I had made it the wrong way round and unpicked it yet again. I also seem to twist the limbs whilst going in rounds. I've used ordinary cheap double knitting wool it doesn't give the natural look the alpaca would give but keeps the price down if I give them away.
The worse thing is stitching the legs on so that they would sit unaided so I would recommend that you made a weighted bag to stuff inside which is suggested. I haven't got any weighted beads yet but that the plan when I hubby get time to take me to Hobbycraft.

Clipppety Clop

Time for a new challenge on Everybody Challenge this week its for a sketch.

My card may look bear but I've left enough room on the side for a number well thats my excuse.
Of course the little chap is from Mo Manning called Anthony. I used the Tim Holtz clock die for the circle in the sketch and the MFT fence for the band going across but I did have to move the sentiment because Anthony foot was in the way.
Do pop over and check out the team, also hope you can join in with us this week.

Birthday Wishes

Everytime I mention I'm going into my craftroom it doesn't happen so I'm not saying it now especially since I managed to get some cards done yesterday, they may be warts but at least I'm making cards that are not for DT.
I do need however to pay more attention to the sketch on the sketch challenge. This one should be for the Freshly Made Sketch but there should be strips down the side.
Oh well it gave me a starting point, I saw the Memory Box Jasper die which made me think of the sketch. Then I rediscovered the Elizabeth Craft Flowers that I rarely used.
I decided to use the Bricked embossed folder for the background and used the Simon Says Stamp Greetings and Sketchy Banners with a double layer Birthday die from Simon as well.

Mason and Mummy

The pocket page I made for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge was just that a page and when you put it in the album it wouldn't be revelent to the page next to it so I made a 12 by 12 to go with it.

I used the same papers and the same things that I used on Wednesday with the added larger hearts.

The pic is one of my favourites and there's some journalling in the corner, how is was her dream to be a Mummy. Even though the path can be hard, dreams can come true.

Bunny

This didn't turn out as well as it did in my head. The sketch was from somewhere but my brain is refusing to co-operate broken nights sleep is having a bit of an effect.
The papers are LOTV and of course my little bunny is Penny Black. My flowers are MFT Upsy Daisy must be my favourite die when it comes to flowers, the tiny flowers are a punch I have had for ages.
The sentiment is LOTV but wasn't on the banner originally, failure to stamp it direct to paper correctly meant it had to be hidden.
Nearly forgot my leaves are Memory Box Fresh Foliage although I think I cut it up to fit where I wanted it to go.
I'm hoping to get into my craftroom today, I had a couple of good days and followed by rubbish ones but today I'm feeling a bit better.

Merry Penquin

Yes you are seeing a Christmas Card, remember I said I would try and join in with Christmas challenges. Merry Monday is for Critters and the sketch is from Mojo Monday.
The little chap is a LOTV image and the papers are from there too. My border is from Memory Box and my snowflake is the Martha Stewart punch.
I've been concentrating on my DT cards but I was able to make this little chap but card making is hit and miss at the moment.

Sweethearts

It's time for the first Dream Team Blog Hop of 2015 and Kaly has chosen the theme of Love and Kisses. Since I love Valerie it was only right I used this sweet new image of Valerie in Love with her sweetheart.
I was determined to join in this week and actually make a card although the dynamics of the image sort of change and suddenly the image became two little children remembering their Nan in Heaven. It does mean you could use the image for other reasons and not just for Valentine.
I kept it very simple the flower is my large EK success Funky Flower with a snowflake centre with Memory Box Tender leaves. The curved border is from Spellbinders and the papers are from LOTV. The fence which I'm not sure worked but it is from MFT with Memory Box clouds.
Hopefully you've arrived from Gretha and now you need to HOP, SKIP and JUMP over to Heidy.
If you get lost start at the Dream Team Blog and it give you a full list of the Blog Hop Run also don't forget to comment along the way, there's two vouchers to win to spend in Mo's shop and there's lots of new images to chose from.

50dollar_voucher_600px

I had decided that I would used Tim Holtz Good Thoughts stamps and for a change I would use it for pocket pages.
First I had to chose my actual Pocket Page these are Becky Higgins American Crafts  and I knew I was going to use these photos of my Gt Nephew. I had plenty of photos to chose from since my niece knew I love the pics she gave me a cd. Once I knew which photos were going where it was a case of using the blank spaces to decorate with the stamps.
The papers are Homespun from Simple Stories and I stamped on the actual patterned papers.
I had to use a Stamp a ma Jig to give the sentiments different colours, also I stamped it a third time so I could cut out the heart to layer it. I also used the Simon Says Stamps Woodland Frame but I cut it up to use to decorate.
The arrow with the heart is from Spellbinders also I used the Simon Says Stamps Falling Hearts die to make the background for the title which I used Classic Alphabet from Memory Box.
I also used dies on the actual photos the hearts are Simon Says Stamps Holiday Shapes and the star is from Spellbinders.
I'm still a bit of novice with pocket pages but I love that I can use all my dies and stamps that I use for card making.

So now it's YOUR turn.  Happy Crafting

Specs

Another card I made a while ago that I had to wait for a sunny day to photo. It should have been the new challenge on Everybody Art Challenge which is for an Envelope but I didn't get round to making one I'm sure you understand why. But do pop over there and check out the team.
Back to my card I think the sketch started as last weeks Sweet Sunday Sketch but I replaced the fishtail banners with a couple of flowers.
The Saturated Canary image has been sitting in my coloured images pile for a while so I thought it was time to use her. I think the papers may be Echo Park but I can't be sure. The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp Soaring for You set, I think that sentiment is going to be a favourite cos I can use it for many different occasions and its not a bad size either.
I actually made two DT cards yesterday, today I plan to make another today.

Sending

I got round to photo-ing some cards I had made but the light hasn't been good but we've had a couple of sunny morning. Not sure it works that well but I had some new craft stuff that arrived over Christmas and I wanted a play and get back to card making after the Christmas break not realising that a couple days later I would be taking another break from it.
The rose is a Paper Smooches die, the camera didn't pick up that I had layered the centre a couple of times. The sending is a new Simon Says Stamps die and I've missed out getting the stamp set twice now.
But I noticed on the Soaring for You stamp set from Simon had the sentiment lots of love which I thought would work out well and occasionally I'm right.
The papers came from one of Simon Says Stamp kits and the I used the stitched rectangle dies on the plain white mat.
