Henry Mouse

I've schedule this post cos I should be winging it down the M4 to MJ all day crop so hope Mr Blogger likes me. I made this card with this weeks Friday Sketchers sketch and the papers I used the other day which I've discovered it Heidi Grace but the snowflakes one is Kaiser. Isn't Henry Mouse cute and he doesn't mind me colouring him with the same colours as the Penny Black mice. I may have used a few too many snowflakes and glitter but you can never have too much glitter at Christmas.
Look at all the wonderful goodies that Linda has for her blog candy.
And not forgetting the fab award I received lately from Elly.

A touch of Gold

I only had scraps of this pattern cardstock and I wasn't sure I had enough to follow the brilliant sketch on A Spoonful of Sugar but I just managed it and I feel very justified that I used every last bit of card. I'm really pleased with the punch flowers, using a touch of glamour dust in gold on the tip of their petals not sure it worked so well on Tilda's coat. I was bit naughty with the sentiment because its really a long strip of words that I cut so I could use it different ways.
Never managed to find accessories for the outfit which was easier to find than this is proving.
I'm at MJ tomorrow for an all day crop and now with the Secret Project finished I'm be doing things for next month's By the Cute and Girly but you've plenty of time to join in this month's Autumn Glory.

Adorable Thursday

I nearly forgot the Sugar Bowl sketch from Tiets and it was perfect for this little chap. Not sure on the papers I wish I would stop cutting of the name and then bin them before I've checked but I do know these are ones I brought The Hobby House at Ally Pally. Oh I forgot to glitter my icicle border but there's plenty on the snowflakes.
Not sure if I will get time to craft today, off to do some shopping I need accessories for the outfit for The Wedding.

Just a little bit more

Next Monday is Hubby's birthday so I thought I better make him a card, I did think I made one but I think I given them to Sis. Anyway I made this one using the Mojo Monday sketch this week, my card is quite simple but that's the problem with men's cards. I used Pebbles papers its brilliant for masculine colours but I've only enough for one more card. You can recognise the stamp is Penny Black and the words are peel offs.

Blogging the other day I found myself on a brilliant blog, it's not a crafty one but it is fun. It's not been going for that long so do check out the older posts. Its called Mum's Monkey, he's a bit poorly at the mo so he probably would love a visit.

Domi's Sketch

The new challenge is up on the Simon Says Stamps Challenge and its a brilliant sketch from Domi. I wish now I had another go and photo this card cos I took it while the weather was murky and I had to try and improve it in Photoshop.
The papers I think could be Pebbles but it was the last bit. I'm suprise the pink work so well perhaps its picking up the pink rose in the PB image.
If I'm not careful I will wear out the heart MS punch before next years Valentine.
My internet is a bit slow today and the last time it did this, I tried to reboot the modem I lost connection altogether. So I'm going to leave well alone and hope it doesn't disappear altogether.

Sparkling Teddy

Isn't he adorable, he's from Pink Gems Designs and for some reason when I make a card using Pink Gems something goes wrong like cutting off the stamped bobble by mistake but I think this could be a happy mistake cos I quite like the bobble I replaced it with.
The papers are Doodlebug and I've used the fab sketch from Sketch Saturday.
The snowflakes again various dies, I think in this case they're a sizzix one and a punch, sentiment is Stamps Away by Clevercut and all was glittered with Glamour Dust.
Might get to make cards today.

Buttons and Bows

Buttons and Bows are the challenge on Penny Black Saturday Challenge and I wanted to use this cute PB stamp since I had borrowed it from my Sis and she will be wanting it back. The papers are scraps of Chatterbox and the flowers are the Woodware punches.
I always thread my buttons, I either tie a knot like today's card or I actually stitch through the flowers, I just feel that they look better if you treat then like buttons.
I've borrowed one of those lap things from Sis and have started to colour images while watching telly in the evening but I do get some strange colours because certain members of the family complain that the daylight lamp is too bright, lucky for me the pony turned out OK.
I had a fabulous e-mail this weekend its cheered me up good and proper but not sure I can tell yet!

Cute Card For Sunday

When I first saw the sketch on Friday Sketchers, I wasn't sure what I was going to do with the main mat in the middles, finally decided not to do anything but use the Apron punch from Fiskars. I can't believe I had this little chap all coloured and he hadn't been used, its a Tina Wenke stamp from that you can still get at the Secret Crafter. The patterned paper is BG and I embossed the white with the daisy folder for the Cuttlebug. The dandelion puffs I have use some stickles and my red brads are again punched out circles that I've embossed to get the dome shape. I didn't make a long card cos I thought the sketch was ideal for an A5 card and another one done if there is another collection for Marie Curie.
Thank goodness the Secret Project is finished and so is the CJ entry but the X factor and Strictly pulled me away from my Craftroom and the third project didn't get done, Oh well two out of three ain't bad.

Before I forget

I'm having a break after finally finishing my secret project, I've photo my recent card for the Just Magnolia challenge which is a fab sketch by the way. I think my camera doesn't like blue or purple because I can't get the white to look white.
Anyway I've used BG Wisteria papers, various flowers and the leone em branch punch. I've used the cuttlebug to emboss the white stripes and some pearls for a finishing touch.
This pony from magnolia always reminds me of My little Pony which I think I have quite a few up in my loft since my DD didn't want them in her room but was no way going to part with them, along with the Keepers, Polly Pocket and Sylvanians that's not including all her dolls!
This is a card I made for the Truly Scrumptious sketch with the added challenge of doodling. I went so OTT on the doodling I wasn't going to show it but hey its my blog and you get to see the warts and all. The papers are Making Memories and of course it little Ballet Tilda.
I guess I better get back to the craftroom, I've a CJ to complete and I've got to make a CJ to send and it won't get done sitting on the PC again.

Autumn Mouse

So part of my Secret Crafter DT duties is to take a turn choosing a challenge so when Jane e-mailed for mine, my mind went completely blank and the best I could come with is Autumn Colours seeing as its October.
It's appropriate for me really cos when I was working, we had training to help customers buy the right colours for their skin tone, I was classed as Autumn, with its warm reds, oranges, brown and even purple or should I say Aubergine. So I look forward to seeing fabulous cards using the challenge .
Of course this challenge also allowed me to use the fab EarthLove papers from Cosmo Cricket and any excuse to us a PB mouse image. I had in my mind a man's card so made some shabby flowers but its probably still too cute for a man.
There's quite a lot of stickles on this card, which the camera hasn't picked up but that could be a lucky thing, I had been making Christmas cards previous to this one.

Tartan Friday

When I saw the tartan in the June Bug papers of Basic Grey, I knew it was perfect for this couple from Sugar Nellie and I couldn't resist paper pieceing their scarf and doggy coat. I've used the sketch on Papertake Weekly although the image was slightly too big but I'm sure I'll be forgiven for it overlapping.
It wasn't fun backing up the PC and I've made a promise to myself not to leave it so long.

Bats and Spiders

I'm feeling a bit bogged down at the mo, too many stamps I want to play with, too many challenges I want to join in and still want to do scrapbooking so I'm going to do the complete opposite and have a day off from crafting. I'm going to back up the computer and just catch up with other things today but I still have a card to show.
Athough on a card it's really a scene I've made using the new Mary Hall stamps from Sugar Nellie. I'm love the Mary Hall stamps but they've been too small for me but when I checked these theirs sizes were described and I took a chance and isn't she fab. Of course there is some sparkle in her dress which the camera hasn't picked up.
Bats, tree and the fence and web from the card from yesterday are all from the Paper Dolls cartridge for the Cricut (thanks to Enfys didn't know they were on this cartridge) the spider is Doodlecharms. Paper a download from Sweet Shoppe Designs. The challenge on A spoonful of Sugar is for Hallowen, I reckon this ticks all the boxes.

Trick and Treat

I know we in the UK don't really do Halloween but making Halloween cards are so fun to do. So the challenge on Simon Says Challenge is for a Halloween card and even if you don't want to join in, do go and have a look at the stunning DT samples.
Last year I made a frame card, the tutorial was from Claudia of Pretty Pressings for the Papertake Challenge, here is the one I did last year in March. I wanted to do one again using Pink Gems Halloween Mimi and with the help of the Cricut, I've cut out a fence, spider and a web. I rarely use brought embellishments but the Ghost was with some I brought from Poundland years ago I have no idea what for but they've never been used,well till now.

June Bug Pony

I don't like dark murky wet morning because trying to take a photo is almost impossible and when I try to improve it through Photoshop it seems to wash out the image. I may give it another go later. This is a High Hopes image and the sketch is from Basic GreyChallenges, papers are June Bug. Flowers are various ones out of my stash and the sentiment is Simon Says Stamps.
I'm so please to make the top 5 of Cupcake Challenges, I was only thinking that my cards for Janet Pink Gems Designs weren't up to stratch, I try to think of different things to do and they don't always work but Denny the dragon made the top 5 so they can't be that bad.

Autumn Monday Morning

It's Autumn on Penny Black Saturday Challenge and Cosmo Cricket Early Bird papers was ideal for this challenge. I wanted to use this cute fellow but he is quite a small stamp and I felt he would be lost on a square card and needing some inspiration for this size card I popped over onto the Mojo Monday and found that the previous months sketches were available and I found the perfect sketch week 97. The sentiment is stampin up and the punch is an old Fiskars one.
I had a fabulous time at Scrapbuddies Crop but I didn't finish my secret project and it wasn't because I was talking too much whatever my Sis my say, I want to finish it this week because I've a couple of CJ to sort out too.

A Sunday Double

Over on Just Magnolia the challenge is to make your own flowers, I very often use various punches to make flowers simply because to get the right shade of a brought flower to match papers is really difficult. I tried to make some flowers that was on the link on someones blog, of course now I can't find it but you had to spritz them with water, well I tried it but on my cheap cardstock it didn't work too well but I did like how when all the funky flowers were put together. So it was the inspiration for these flowers.
The papers Making Memories and my MS Doily punch for the border. Remember me saying I had to buy a new one cos I wore the old one out, what you don't realise soon after I had a bit of clear out and threw out the wrong punch so on some landfill site is a brand new Doily punch and my purse is quite a bit lighter now that I had to buy yet another.
The sketch on Friday Sketchers this week is sponsor by dream2stamp and it just didn't seem right to use anyone elses stamp when I'm on their DT not that I had to but it was a brilliant excuse to use this turtle stamps. I still trying to think a card for a man not sure if it worked this time but I do love the colours which match the image. They're are Daisy Bucket papers and the sentiment is Clever cut.

Halloween Mimi

This is another reason I was a bit busy yesterday I promised Janet of Pink Gem designs to use this cute Halloween Mimi asap because Janet has 15%off Halloween stamps.
I wanted to use the scene from the digi from Chris aka Sketching stamper that the DT of Secret Crafter were given but I didn't think it was suitable for a birthday celebration and I knew it would be perfect for Halloween. I printed it on yellow/orange cardstock so no colouring was involved.
The web patterned paper is a free download from Summertime Designs. Bats were on Chris's digi just made them a bit larger to make it easier to cut them out and the spider is from Doodlecharms Cricut cartridge. I'm so annoyed that the camera and stickles do not see eye to eye, the camera is making the glitter look odd.

Challenge for World Cardmaking Day

Over on Simon Says Challenge we have a challenge to celebrate World Cardmaking Day with a fab goodie bag from Heidi. You only have today to join in, here's the challenge;

As you all know it is the World Cardmaking Day today and we have a very special challenge that will last for 24 hours only. We are dedicating this challenge to Paige a 13 year old girl who was badly injured in an accident recently. We are asking you to make GIRLY CARD and send it to Paige. If you have already sent one we ask you to send it to a child on the Post Pals or a sick child.

I was having a wobbly at the wireless thingy so wasn't able to get a card done but I'll still be sending a card to Post Pals.

Celebrate in Style

We're celebrating over on Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge its their 1st Blog Anniversary and the DT was lucky enough to have some fab Chris Dark digi images given to us.
Now my printer and Digi's don't like each other and I was given another tip to try which was to use hairspray and heat, well it looked like it worked till I sat down and started to colour. The hairspray made the card stock react to prism pencils and it still smudged although I think I managed to hide the worst.
Even so I was really pleased how the digi turn out, there was a lot of flesh to colour and although the camera has washed out some of the colour in real life it turned out well.
The papers are pebbles and really busy so I decided to leave decorations to the minimum and the sentiment is Butterfly Kisses that I brought a couple years ago at The Make it Show.
One of the prizes on Secret Crafter is a DT place.
It's a good job I managed to do this card before the wireless thingy turn up. Why does it have to be me that has to deal with technology by the time I had finished it had used up quite a lot of my valuable craft time but its working and DD can stop hogging my PC.

Ok this post is becoming too long and I've waffled on long enough, plans for the weekend, card making today to get up to date so I can finish the Secret Project at Scrapbuddies crop tomorrow .

You and Me

There's a fab sketch on WOJ challenge designed by Rach, when I saw it I remembered that I had these two coloured up and if i turned the sketch they could sit in the oval. The papers are Cosmo Cricket and I cheated and made a frame for one of the mats so it looks like two pieces of patterned card but it on one.
I made the daisies using a Woodware punch and used McGill branch punch and I do believe there is a bit of ribbon used has a bow.
I did try to lighter the pic up but I'm rubbish at that sort of thing it was even this or so bright you couldn't see it anyway.
