Flowery

I've made this card for by Samm blog whose celebrating loads of hits on her blog. She's chosen the theme flowers well I couldn't not do one. So this is a stamped image with my beloved brilliance pad in coffee bean then used watercolours pencils. Used silcone so that only the petals are raised. Stamps used are DeKimbles for the flower that I brought at Newbury from that awful stall Simply Friends they make me spend loads of money there, they also have some wonderful samples too. Words from Hero Arts, a scrap of Bazzill and BG Dawson. I really must try other techniques other than watercolours pencil but I just love the effect, makes me feel Arty!!!!!!!!!!!

Summer Cyber Crop

Well I've managed all classes yesterday and sewing seems to be the order of the day. First was Scrappy Do's, suppose to only stitch along the bottom but I got carried away and stitched the frame. The papers were deja view, stickers from a value pack from Walmart.
Now this LO class from ATML caused me enormous amount of stress its machine stitched round everything, you're suppose to stitch the stems, trust me not a good idea with a sewing machine possessed with evil on its mind. So I doodled them and I have some flowers placed over the worst spots. DD posted me the photo cos I love it so much on her bebo site and yes I used a scanned photo me stitch over the original "dangerous".





















This was Suzanne's class for the Collectively Yours blog. She had lovely pic of her DD looking thoughtful and while hunting for a photo I found this one of DS on his 18th Birthday and I wanted to scrap it, so I made a boy page using Junkitz extreme and a bit of rusty pickle. I do you see machine sewing nice wiggly lines, I can managed that.



















No I haven't been buying yet more stash this lovely pile is my prize from Craft Emporium. There was bit of a communication problem and then Lyn wanted to have it all matching. It was worth the wait a pizza box full of 7 gypsies and matching bazzill.

Tempting Fate

I hope blogger likes me with all these photos to upload. Running a bit late this morning realised its craft day on QVC so rang Sis to let her know, half an hour later I put the phone down.
As you can see my Francoise Read Oriental ladies arrived yesterday and I couldn't resist to make a quick card just used my watercolour pencils and make a couple of layers isn't she cute hopefully I will have more time next week after the cyber crop.
I've managed all the classes and project, the first was a kit I brought from Crafty Pastimes, it took all morning to find photos then the HP scanner didn't like them so had to sort out the Epson scanner I brought for slides to see if that would work as you can see it did. I don't like using orignal old photos usually I like to cut them up to the size I want and sometimes I cut off too much!!!!!
This is my DD at Christmas when she was four money was tight and Father Christmas always brought a Christmas outfit and he made sure it would fit for a long time. The papers are American Craft, I particularly liked the sewing on the flowers.


















This is Rebecca Purse project that I brought the kit for its really cute, I think the papers are Dream Street but don't hold me to that. The pics are from 1988 too when I took Amanda, Carla and Tim (nieces and nephew) along with my two to the paddling pool at Stoke Park.















This is a spoonful sprinkles class you have a sketch to follow I turned it so would fit the photos I printed, the big tag is because I journalled underneath and made a huge mistake. I used K&Co papers and chipboard flowers, Julie Hickey explained at Newbury to stick the flowers on the paper and leave for as long as you can possible overnight because you can cut them out much better and I have to say shes right.

Craft Alert

Well here's my UKS challenge, the pic is of DS when he was two, the quality of pic is not too bad considering is was a slide and its 7 by5 photo. I think I may have over done the stars etc on the purple but the blank spaces kept drawing me to them but now the doodle frame with the brads don't show up so well. I copied the idea from the american scrapbook trends mag/book. I haven't managed to get the five scraps but managed all the other elements.

An update on the magician's bear, yes I got fed up with the grey and black and went to finish his paws and Hedwig. Now I've got to finish off the grey, I'm leaving the hat till last.
I'm off to UKS for the summer cyber crop while waiting for NTL/Virginmedia, not convinced they are going to turn up the last appointment they
cancelled without telling me trouble is you hear about poor sevice with SKY so as customers we are all in a no win situation.

Cards

I've seen this shape card on someone's blog and its been in the back of my mind to have a go. Of course when I went to look who blogged it I can't find it. It is what I call a basic card that fits a c6 envelope but by putting the little square on the fold it becomes a square card. I've used up some left over BG Lillykate, printed greeting, the first flower is a stampendous stamp and using a souffle pen for the little stamens.
The other flowers is I think BG flower with a punched flower layered on top. Looking at it now I wish I doodled a little bit on it. And yes on the little tags is a peel off greeting.
I've nearly finished my weekly challenge LO so that should be ready for tomorrow, then its the cyber crop. The summer one is so much more relax and more about the classes and not for gaining points so no pressure. Its also great for using all that stash that in my case is hiding under the desk.
I've also found Francoise Read Oriental Ladies they were at The Glitter Pot but they're sold out but I found some more on e-bay and fingers crossed they should arrive soon. I also liked her Victorian Lady but I resisted. But I didn't resist the Scrapbook Trends at Modscraps and I confess they arrived yesterday.

Sorry

Sorry no crafting, arrived back from MIL yesterday but suffering a bit from over doing it the last few days. Might pop in my craft room to tidy up and maybe make some cards. The weekly challenge in up on UKS so will have a think about that. You need to scrap a first, use purple, doodling and use five scraps of something, stuck on the first one!!!!!. Inspiration where are you when I need you.

Saturday

Nothing crafty to show but a pic from Wisley. Managed to get to go to another craft shop, The crafty cow at Seale who was doing a live show on the internet it was really difficult to be quiet I'm naturally noisy. Anyway they had a stampington stamp that I have longed for so I didn't leave till I had that and some scrapbooking paper that I hadn't seem before and it was doublesided.

It seems that we have foot and mouth disease in the area Wanborough and Normandy are on the main road from Guildford to Aldershot hopefully due to strict rules on testing it can be restricted to the infected farm.

Off to take MIL back hope we get there before The Range closes.

Stuff

Its hard to find a revelant title! Anyhow Wisley was lovely yesterday it did start to rain but by then we had seen most of what we wanted. Didn't know Sis has never been, my navigation skills were a bit missing yesterday but we still managed to find the craft shop Sis has a nose for such shops and the in a roundabout way managed to find home again. Sis said we did a round trip, the same shape as your wooden spoon you keep stirring I replied.
Heres my take on the weekly challenge on you UKS. BG LillyKate it was the lilac colour that drew me to the papers it went well with the colour of th dolphin.
Off to M&S later to get some knickers you know they just not the same quality anywhere else.

Bear Part Two

Here's the latest pic of the Magicians bear, have a feeling by the time I finish all the grey and black area I shall be going slightly mad. Should get quite a bit done over the weekend because we are taking MIL back. Hopefully a visit to The Range while we are up there.
Summer has be here the last two days and guess who has turned up to use the garden. DS nicked the ice cream out the freezer begged for sandwiches and promptly tried to make me his maid for the day. And he's been hogging the PC I better remind him that next week its the Summer Cyber Crop and he keep off.

Mini book

I have loads of great photos from the MGM Disney Parade and doing several pages of 12 by 12 with just parade picture seemed to me a bit boring so I've made a simple little mini book. I've purposely kept it simple.

The front page is my first attempt of the car on the Disney Cartridge for the Cricut. I am very impressed yes if you look a bit too close its rough round the edges and it was quite fiddly but the result was brilliant. The chipboard fronts were made the Trish's way over at craft tv weekly you will have to look at the archive for the maze book but you have wonderful neat corners. Every Friday they have a new project to watch.

Another parcel arrived yesterday INK finally have coloured ink for the printer also brought 1gb scandisk for £6.50 which I thought was excellent value.

Today my Mod scraps kit arrived with a wonderful idea book from Kirsty Wiseman, Ruth Austin and now Cleo Evans. Great ideas but I've still not used Elsie Flannigans kits from last month yet!

Did I mention how wonderful my OH was on Sunday he brought me Harry Potter I tried so hard not to get caught up in the hype but having read all the others well I needed the last one.

Off to Wisley tomorrow with Sis just need to plan our route so it bypasses a craft shop!

I confess

to buying four Kits for UKS summer cyber crop. The black and pink with all the lush ribbons was from Jillybeans. The turquoise kit from scrapping angels I wish now I brought the other colour choice too. Disney cartridge sent to me by my DD. The paperbag book was extra I ordered from Rebecca when you ordered her kit you could add a few bits without paying more postage. The last one was from Crafty Pastimes which I was surprised to see this morning as I know they're away this weekend. Apart from Jillybeans kit that arrived last Friday they all came this morning felt like Christmas.

Now just waiting for Modscraps Kit and ink for the printer, and Lyn from Craft Emporium who pm at UKS to say she'll pop my prize in the post. So postie stalking tomorrow too.

Went to the Docs yesterday and I have to go to the ENT to have a proper hearing test it appears that cold I had in May has left me with hearing lost in my right ear.

Monday

Here's another Joy folding card made for my nephew wedding but its a bit arty using BG Scarlett letters wonder whether I should be more traditional and get out the hearts and silver paper.
Today is the start of a busy week, MIL down on wednesday so the house needs a bit of a sort out, days out on Thurs and Friday then taking her back on Saturday and back home on Sunday. Feeling exhausted already just writing it all down.
Not sure how much crafty I can fit in but next week theres the Summer Cyber Crop on UKS starting on Wednesday 8th. Have brought four kits cos it much easier to have a couple to hand seeing as it takes ages to match papers to photos.

Resume

Scrapbooking etc will resume tomorrow. Been to mychett crop with Fairy Karen, Valelady and Jemina Puddleduck had a great time and like I said no stash shopping so no guilty feelings.
I'm making a minibook with Disney photos from April didn't quite finish it too much chattering.
Last night went to see Transformers, it was great film and not just a boy flick it was funny and with some great graphics DD recommended, obviously she saw it weeks ago and Boy was she right.

Closer look

As I had technical problems yesterday and completed nothing I thought you might like a closer look at Francoise class from last Sunday. Yes they are peel offs and I do think they get bad press but if used properly they can be a useful addition. These peel offs were stuck onto double sided adhesive sheet, trimmed. Then careful sprinkle different colours of glitter one at time. Then just peel of the backing, layer and matt.
My technical problems were due to the printer, I brought some c**p photo paper and decided to reprint them. Obviously the printer was out of ink and the new one left stripes. So I cleaned them, again, again, again and again, finally it was OK but I had used loads of ink to clean them and no spare.
Then not sure if its just me but I had two photos of Jake with red eye no problem or so I thought. Would it save the new pics, no so had to find some other software I hadn't used before, it just takes more time. Finally managed to print the photos except the last two of Jake that had red eye the printer run out of ink!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sunny Friday!!!!!!!

I've joined crafty blogs and if you scoll down you should see the banner but I'm not sure if it works cos I had such a problem to get it to show up on my Blog. Its probably something very easy so if anyone knows how to do it please let me know.

On a crafty note heres the Oriental Lady that Jenny from Hobby Art taught us last Sunday with BG Pheobe papers the small 6 by 6 pack. Then I found a full length lady from Friends stamps that I brought some time ago, I think she looks stunning.

I have decided the weather is playing games with my joints because this week they are really playing up and that means not being able to do much craftywise, but the sun is up today so maybe a better day today. Looking forward to the Mychett Crop on Sunday. So if you if the Farnborough and Guildford way come and join us. Its £7 I think, for 10 -4 crop there's no shop so no temptation for those on a Stash freeze and its at Mychett Community Centre next to the BP garage.

Theres also a Summer Cyber Crop on UKS from Wednesday 8th August, its not such a fast pace as the weekend crops, there are kits on sale from various stores and I confess I have brought some.

DD has planned her trip after finishing Disney and should be home at the end of September hope she likes her bedroom.

One scoop too many

I'm talking Ice cream, this is my challenge for UKS, you had to use pink, chocolate and vanilla, I chose Sis pic of her at Disney Village, DD and myself had a banana split which we shared and used spoons while OH and Sis had cornets deciding one scoop wasn't enough they got two. Forgetting that everything America is BIG and it was a warm day meant One Scoop too many dripping down their arms.

I used BG Pheobe, I must use some of my BG stash as there is at least two new ones I want.

This is what I spend my evenings on Cross Stitch, I do this while watching telly, I've always have to do something must have restless hands but before XS I used to knit which is now back in fashion crazy isn't it. Anyway this is a bengry bear in a magician costume, no idea what I'm going to do with it when I finish it but fancied doing it.
Meanwhile I have finished the cuddly bears XS but it was a real b****r to centre the words I must have done the names three times in all and there shouldn't have been a prob and I don't think its right now but I refuse to do it again. Now it has to be made into a cushion and because now an owner of sewing machine its down to me. Could've of popped into the fabric shop next door on Sunday cos they were open even though I wasn't sure what colours but by the time we came out they were shut but I have to do it soon as you can see by the date it needs to completed.

The weekend

A really busy weekend starting with the Mod Scraps Crop on Saturday, we were really lucky to be able to go to this after the terrible downpour on Friday, Gloucestershire and Worcestershire worse hit. This is the LO I managed to do, its a scraplift on the new HappyScrappin Forum . One very expensive LO, the papers I was going to use I felt didn't work so ended up buying Roxie from Ellies shop in the hall, guess what I have at home untouched a Roxie kit.

Sunday we went to the Art of Craft they had a demo weekend to celebrate twentytwo years in the craft business. We was only going to go for a couple of hours but ended up being there for five hours.
First we met the Lovely Francoise Read a very unassuming and talented lady. I love her stamps and her classes, she can take a plain bits of card, some stamps and ink, and make a fabulous card. After many years we class her as a good friend, maybe not after telling us that she has another twenty sets of new stamps coming out at the end of August including the wonderful oriental stamps being advertise in the craft mags. Then we met the wonderful Jenny of HobbyArt she had this lovely folder with her examples in and had a lovely polka dot dress stamp, had to have that and I couldn't leave without a flower stamp. Then Karen asked if we wanted to do a workshop with Jenny it was only a £5 so we said yes and Jenny was using the head of oriental lady stamp well that fell in the basket too, then Nannette asked about Francoise workshop so we did that too, now I know people moan about peel off but the ice cream sundaes with glitter they are easy and fab to do. Spent some time with Karen at the make and takes, arranging a day out scrapping then finished off looking at everything else. Was really impress with the cuttlebug especially the embossing but really can't justified the cost after buying the Cricut. So I leave you with pics of my booty.

TGIF

Not so sure about the title, we've had quite a terrifying thunderstorm all the plates and glasses rattled in the kitchen with the thunder.

Well on a happy not this is my LO of UKS challenge you had to have white space, I hate white space but it doesn't look too bad was going to doodle round all the edges but sometimes I think its best to leave while the going was good.

DD had brought me Disney cartridge for the cricut but I now sure if she actually knows what the cricut does so if you're reading this scroll down and look How clean is you pool cos the title is all cut with the cricut no hand cutting for me.

Mod scraps crop on Saturday hope the weather stay decent for the drive. Sunday off to Art of the craft who are celebrating 22 years of business unfortunately some of us are not VIP.

Happy Mistake

Didn't turn out how I wanted but I'm still pleased. I loved where the title is but it left me with loads of space down the middle so I used a crafters template to make the doodles, but still wasn't happy as I felt it was too flat, I was going to us glossy accents in the circles but then decide on stickles thinking they would take on the brown colour nope they've gone an aqua green which it OK cos it goes with the paper phew.

Should be at DS house to wait for the bed but its not coming till 4 so DH will give me a lift at lunchtime.
