Recycling

We're going green over on Penny Black Saturday Challenge and I don't mean the colour, we want you to recycle something on your card.
I've used a blue folder for the backing mats, in fact I've quite a lot of this card since my BIL was throwing them out and decided to cut them into A4 for my Sis and I.
I've also used some buttons out of my button tin which I inherited from my Mum.
The papers are Basic Grey and of course my retro flower punch got an outing too.
Now we have a fabulous prize and an amazing team so check them out.

A Baby in a Teacup

There's a perfect challenge for me on A Spoon Full of Sugar, Ribbon, Pearls and Flowers, all the things I love. Add the adorable image from Mo Manning my card was a delight to make.
The papers are Kaiser and so beautiful I found it really difficult to cut and the flowers are either Marianne or Nellie Sneden punches.  A friend at the crop on Sunday made some fabulous flowers with the punches my flowers certainly not as good but they're still cute.
I used a computer generated sentiment and thats two Mother's day cards done one more to go.
But nothing will be done this weekend no I'm not on my way to the NEC off see MIL but fingers crossed I've convince my hubby that not only to get up early when we've lost an hour in bed due to the clocks going forward. To drive home by way of the hotel that some bloggers are staying to say hello.
Lets hope we don't oversleep.

Mother's Day Card

Finally I made a Mother's day card using the sketch from Sketch Saturday and I've had to make a large card for the Penny Black Cling stamp. Usually I would avoid such a large stamp but my Mum used to grow geraniums and we always had rabbits when I was little so I brought this stamp with the idea of using it for Mother's Day.
The papers are in my stash with no names although I want to say Making Memories,  the Cherish punch worked a treat and so did the swirls with the daisies using Woodware Daisy punches.
There was quite a bit of cutting out but it was worth I think.
Here's a close up of layers. I can also enter it into the Papertake Weekly challenge who are looking for A Mums card.

WOYWW and Scrapbook Wednesday

Gosh my WOYWW gets later and later, not helped by having to make a baby card for my son who forgot to ask me for one. Of course I've got girl ones but no boys, so it was stop what you're doing and make one. I've cleaned my desk and just waiting for the LOTV sentiment stamp to dry before putting it back in the box.

Of course I could tidy up the side, it looking a bit of tip again.
I thought I'll add a scrapbook page to my post. This is the layout I made to inspire the ladies at Scrapbuddies, those that weren't doing the class, I challenge them to use this Pagemap and have to say they did a really good job and I load their pages to the Scrapbuddies blog when I get back from MIL. I'm really pleased how well mine turned out.
Here's the sketch we used.

A Girly Post

Here in the UK we ususally have Mother's Day in March with Easter being late it is in fact on the 3rd April, so Simon Says Stamps Challenge this week is Mother's Day or a Girly card. Why I decided to make a girly card I've no idea cos I do have to make three Mother's Day cards but I couldn't resist this cute The Greeting Farm Izzy.
The papers are Hopscotch from Basic Grey, love this pack certainly getting my moneys worth from it. The flowers are from Prima which Simon Says Stamps has loads of.
The swirl is Magnolia DooHickey die now available from Simon Says Stamps too.

Do pop over to the Challenge blog to check out the fabulous creations the team have made and don't forget there is a chance of a fabulous prize if you join us this week.

The Rag Trade

Nearly forgot my High Hopes post, thats because I've got my head down trying to get ahead of myself for the weekend away.
So you have to use Fabric on your card, now this was a real challenge for me, I don't sew, although I do own a sewing machine but he's called Damon and doesn't like me so he's gathering dust upstairs hidden in the bedroom. So if I don't sew what are the chances of me finding fabric, so I begged some off my Sister and she had this fab green check stuck.
I did have issues with the pinking shears that won't cut anymore, really shouldn't use them on cardstock and my flower I needed more practice but time was running.
Of course now thinking about I could have used felt!
So I used this fab stamp by High Hopes designed by Dustin Pike, the papers are My Minds Eye and thats faux stitching.
Now don't forget to pop over to the blog and check out the rest of the Divas I'm sure they've made a better job of this challenge than I did.

Happy Birthday

Lovely, easy challenge this week on Everybody Art Challenge, its Happy Birthday. So I've used a new Penny Black stamp I got recently.
Things were going fine till I put on the red flower soft and to help redeem the card I put some gems in the centre, but four gems looked overcrowded so I had to settle for three.
The papers are My Minds Eye one of the Stella and Rose 6 inch pads, some punched flowers and a touch of ribbon to finish.
Do pop over to the Challenge blog to check out the DT and we love for you to join us.

Music and Dance

Yes I know I've missed St Patricks day but I love this sweet Irish dancing girl from Mo Manning and she was fun to colour.
The sketch is this weeks Friday Sketchers and the papers are Madeline from Prima papers. It was only after I realised that I punched the daisy out of music papers that my card was perfect for the challenge of Music and Dance on Cute Card Thursday.
Well we had a fab day at Scrapbuddies, Nikki taught a class and I set a Pagemaps sketch challenge for the girls not taking the class. Finished the day having a yummy chinese at Wings in Farnborough.

Bunny Tilda

My bags are packed and I'm off to Scrapbuddies crop for the day but I've just got time to pop a card on my blog. Today I've got this cutest Tilda for the Just Magnolia challenge they want you to use your favourite colour combo but my favourite changes with my mood. So I used these favourite papers from American Crafts it took ages before I could cut into them and now I've only got scraps of some designs left. I reckon I could get at least another couple of cards our of them at a push.
Another favourtie is the daisies, love making them, especially in white, they're woodware punches. The floral embossing is a cuttlebug and not why but you can't see that I've dotted the centres, you would of thought with the sun shining I wouldn't have a problem with the camera.

Not Square

No Square cards allow is the new challenge on A Gem of Challenge from Jenny. So I made a tent card or at least thats what I think its called so sorry if I'm wrong.
Don't you love this cutie pie Baby from Pink Gem Designs and the papers is Echo Park Be Mine papers.
I embossed the card stock using a scoring board in this case its one I've had for ages that I use to make blank cards.
My scallop border is the Deep Edge Doily punch from Martha Stewart. I have recorded a little tutorial to show how to do this with Hubby's camera but my PC hates the file and I need to convert it but I don't know which software would be best to do this.
I used a sakura glitter pen to go over the stars to give them a touch of sparkle.
My friend had a day off work so I cleared my dining room table and we had a craft day yesterday and my Sis gate crashed so I had a fab day scrapbooking but it does mean I'm a bit behind with card-making which I hope to get back on track today.

Penny Black Spring

It's Spring over on Penny Black Saturday Challenge which gave me the opportunity to use this PB stamp.  The papers are My Minds Eye one of the Stella and Rose packs. I did think my card is a bit grungy and not sunny and bright like a spring morning,
The Martha Stewart Cherish punch has been used again and the Quickutz corners, the flowers are probably Wild Orchid and the leaves are Leone-em punch which doesn't like me again, its my fault since its a paper punch and Bazzill card stock is definitely not paper.
We have the cutest Penny Black Stamp as a prize this week and I don't have it and I would love it and so would the team. So pop over and check out DT some gorgeous cards to inspire you to join in.

A Spoonful for Friday

A Spoonful of Sugar Challenge this week is a sketch and we all know I love them. This is one of the new WOJ stamps, I didn't get all of them just three of the girls that I knew would mat and layer well. The papers are Bo Bunny and the usual EK sucess funky flower punch.
I've been asked what size these funky flower punches, they make an enormous one that I reckon is more suitable for Scrapbooking. The large one is  approx2 inches across the flower and the one I use a lot is the medium one approx 1 1/4 across. I also have a tiddly one from Do-crafts.
This week as been a busy one for me and it will finish with the Scrapbuddies Crop on Sunday.

Pink Gem Funky Flowers

Janet at Pink Gem has some new stamps, different from her usual cute gems. They come in a set with two fab funky flowers and butterflies, sentiments and pretty co-ordinating shapes. I was lucky that Janet sent me a set and I just had to have a go straight away.
They're ideal for Clean and Simple but I'll settle for Debby's version of Clean and Simple.
The spotty paper was on my desk and it shouted use me, perfect match for the spotty flowers and butterflies and just love the spotty sentiment.

I finally cut into some a Stampin Up paper set, I haven't been able to until I sat down and played with Pink Gems stamps. You can see I cut out the hearts for the flowers and found the ribbon slider in my stash.

Tilda Thursday

I love sketches so if I see a sketch challenge that would be the one I'll try and enter, So this Sketch and Stash looked perfect for this cute Tilda. They do have an optional extra of Clean and Simple but I already had the idea to use Tilda.
The papers are American Crafts, which some have been easy to use but the funny colour aqua blue has been a pain to match with my both sets of pencils I have. Love my Martha Stewart Cherish punch it was used at the weekend for a layout punch and DD used it for some of her pages too definitely a best buy. Craftwork cards sentiment and EK success flower punch, the centres are with a 1/4 punch from Stampin up.

Wednesday's Scrapbooking and WOYWW

So my desk this WOYWW is looking its usual state. I do tidy it up roughly before going on to make something else. Things like tools go back to their home cos I get so annoyed if I can't find them. The papers are put back in their baggie ready for the next card. Eventually the mug goes back to the kitchen cos its taking up valuable desk space.
Some more Scrapbooking, these were laid out at a crop but they didn't have their finishing touches on like Titles.
The foam letters read Conservatory but you can't quite see them but it fine in RL. Recognise the flowers, their the Hero Art ones Igot from Simon Says Stamps. Nice to be using the larger size flower, its too big really for adding onto a card.

I may be in trouble with this layout. I used the map in the travellers guide, I know its not acid free but I'm not too hung about it but I do use acid free glue. The reason I'm in trouble in my son is going to Vegas on a stag do this summer he may be wanted to use the map!!!!!

Happy Birthday

WOW amazing amount of entries of Simon Says Stamps Challenge not quite 1000 but knowing our team leader her plan now will be to get that exclusive amount. Wonder if our challenge this week will do it of Happy Birthday, a perfect challenge especially with it being Lorraine's Birthday today.
For a change I've used a Magnolia  RomanticTilda, Simon Says Stamps has an amazing collection of Magnolias even some really fab older ones that are difficult to get you hands on and now they're stocking the Doohickeys cutting dies including this fabulous swirl. Now I know its not cheap but I've use it constantly.
The papers are Prima Sweet Fairy, now they are value for money the 6in pad is really thick and good quality and so pretty.

Now don't forget to check our the DT and we welcome Melissa our latest DT member and don't forget also you have to join in to be in the draw for the fab prize of.
Yesterday I met up with the lovely Lorraine our DT team leader, I never thought we would actually be able to meet but it was such a treat. We managed to talk constantly for a good couple hours non-stop if Lols didn't have to go and see her other half we would still be there nattering. We managed to drag the poor waitress to take our photos.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY LORRAINE

EAC Sketch

We have a fabulous sketch for you over on Everybody Art Challenge, not sure I've done it justice. I think my PB Hedgie is a bit tiny and then so it would fit in the punched out square I cut it down even more!

The papers are English Rose from Kaiser, beautiful papers that are hard to cut into and hard to cover up with images.
Of course the borders are a Martha Stewart around the page punches and the swirl is from Magnolia and roses probably from Wild Orchid.
Do pop over to the challenge blog and check out what the rest of the DT have made using the sketch.

Fly away Butterflies

I may not of brought the new LOTV but I did buy a couple of the WOJ girls and they so easy to colour and layer.
Using Friday Sketchers sketch this week, which I think is fab and will have to use again and the papers from Kaiser, I think it all worked out well.
The only thing I didn't like the about this image was some funny bug looking things she was reaching/letting go.
So I cut her out and there were bugs no more and I use the tiny butterfly punch that I've had for ages.  The corners are from a cuttlbug die set and the roses are probably from Wild Orchid.
A successful weekend scrapbooking but worked out still got a lot more do for my Vegas book.

Flowers For Sunday

What a great challenge this week on LOTV (Lily of the Valley) FLOWERS and what better flowers than using my punch ones. Out comes the EK sucess funky flower punch and the really tiny ones are in fact a Do-crafts one and its so itty bitty tiny and temperamental.
I've used an older LOTV image and the papers are Echo Park Little Girl, certainly getting my moneys worth out of them.
Having a scrapbooking weekend while Hubby is working with BIL.
