Challenge Saturday

There is a fabulous sketch on Penny Black Saturday Challenge and even though my bear is just a touch too big I knew I had to use him. Since he's been sitting on my desk staring at me and sending stamp me messages.
It's been really exciting over on Penny Black Saturday Challenge because Penny Black, Inc have gotten on board and they are absolutely delighted  with the challenge blog. Did you know they have Penny Black Stamp club where they keep you updated with all the new stamps, er maybe thats a bad thing in my case and they also have a blog to help give you ideas too.
Anyway but to my card, I've Belle Blvd papers which have all gone now, I think I may have used it for another card thats planned next week. Good old MS zig zag punch had an outing and my hole punch made the little pretend brad.

This is the card that I used the rest of the Daisy Bucket papers on, my card for Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge. The challenge this week is to use a quote, I googled quotes and I found this little gem by Walt Disney and I thought the word courage was apt for my little Samurai boy which is one of Wendy's new stamps that I didn't have time to use last week. The leaves are a sizzix die and the flowers are the retro flower or funky flower.
So hopefully Mr Blogger has behaved and this will schedule to post on Saturday but I will check when I get to Sis, I'll force myself to use the slowest PC in the South East.

Just a Boy

I had this cute image coloured up and was going to use for Papertake Weekly but Dawny has done another fabulous sketch on LOTV challenge blog and since it was LOTV stamp I thought I would go with this one.
The last of the Daisy Bucket papers, I have used on a DT card for next week but thats it all gone.
It wouldn't be my card if there wasn't a bit of ribbon somewhere and seeing it was a boy card I thought buttons in the centre of the funky flowers were the order of the day.
I'm in for a busy day, I must make two cards for DT for next week because its possible I will be laying low at the begining of the week. Tomorrow is the Craft Barn Extravangaza and my Sis friend in Wales is very poorly so I'm staying Saturday night for a early journey to Wales so it will  probably follow couple of days of daytime telly but we will wait and see.

Mina's Candy

I don't really what everyone to know this but you have to share I suppose. Mina has the most amazing candy at the moment to celebrate 750 followers and an enormous amout of hits.

I got this award from Poppet Crafting when I can blog and you have to tell 6 lies and 1 truth, then pass it on.

1. I don't spend a lot on crafts.

2, I have plenty of patience.

3. I'm house proud.

4 I hate red wine.

5 It's not my fault I'm a crafter blame my sister.

6 I'm quite happy picking up spiders.

7 I'm a real rollercoaster freak.

I thinks mine are pretty obvious which are which but check out Enfys, they're so funny.

Mr & Mrs Pink-Gem

I was trying to use the Sketch Saturday sketch but I was have problems putting anything over the lush Kaiser paper, this sheet is glittered but of course you can't tell with the photo. I was over the moon when Janet from Pink Gem Designs sent me Kaya and Miki especially as DD as received yet another wedding invite.
On the papermania old gem packs have these tiny stars which are perfect for Miki cavat but I'm not too sure on his gem buttons maybe a bit flash.
The sentiment is WOJ which fits perfectly in a stampin up oval punches.
Its been really hard, I'm on an online spending ban, what with the visit to the Glitter Pot the other week, The Craft Barn Extraganza this week and in few weeks time Newbury, my craft pennies doesn't seemed to be going as far these days.

WOYWW

I wasn't going to get tied up to show my Whats on your Workdesk Wednesday but I'm having such a pooh day that this is the most crafty thing I can get my head round to do today. I know you've seen my new metal notice board but I've discovered a magnetic bulldog clip although I've no idea where from but netherless is was hiding in one my boxes I've recently sorted out. Just to prove my Sis does read my blog she brought me a couple of magnets from Spain.

This is my tool bag, I did have one of those AMM tote bags but every time I went to crops half the things had fallen out, so this had a zip lid which I can just barely closed once I add my inks and pencil case.

Recipe Time

It's recipe time at Simon Says Stamps Challenge, 3 types of embellishments, 2 papers and 1 image.
Ribbon, Lace and Flowers, yes I know there are brads in my flowers but they belong to the flowers. Two pieces of pattern paper from Kaiser's 6inch pad which I brought from SimonSays Stamps. Now in theory there is one image but I did have to stamp it several times to 3d my image.
The DT is showcasing the Stampavie stamps which you can also find in Simon Says Stamps Online Store and if you win the shopping voucher you will have plenty to choose from.

A little Gem

So today is Tuesday but what about the date, well since I forgot that must mean I had no idea until I saw a Pink Gem card on someones blog. Its the 8th of the month so it must be a new Gem of Challenge and its my challenge so even more reasons why I shouldn't of forgotten. I've chosen Ribbons and Buttons since I have rather a lot of both it was only fair to use some.
This is one the cards that didn't quite work as I imagined and in hindsight I should of used buttons with ribbons instead of trying to staple them with kisses.
The papers are Cosmo Cricket and of course the image is Andy from Pink Gem Designs who by the way have 10% off their stamps this month, considering they're not very expensive in the first place this is a bargain. Don't forget to check out the DT there's some fab samples.

Things with Wings

Things with Wings is the challenge on Everybody Art Challenge this week and I thought Melinda from WOJ would be perfect. Add the fab Doodlebug paper that I brought which I didn't need, but really wanted it Perfect. The sentiment is from Butterfly Kisses and just to make sure I had things with wings I've added some punched butterflies and lots of gems. I've added some stickles on the hearts and on the butterflies wings but you know how the camera works, glitter just doesn't show that well but it does mean my card is suitable for the Cupcake Craft Challenge too.
Oh heck I've just see some left over orange tape pesky stuff, well if you can't see it I'm not telling you where it is.

Alice's Dad has set up a serious bit of machinery that cuts out these amazing card shapes and she is offering some as Blog Candy, check it out here.
Normal British summer has resumed, its raining.

Pleated Lace

I was going to pleat the lace round the oval, in fact I did and it just didn't look right so I just made a pleated lace border, that way I can enter it on the Just Magnolia Challenge. After I coloured Tilda to match the Wild Rose papers I realised that I should have used the colours the other way, orange socks and blue dress but I couldn't not use her she might have ended up in the bin.
The wand gave me a bit of headache since the star strands are impossible to cut out so I used some silver thread and 3 tiny punched stars to replace the ones I cut off. All finished off with a touch of Stickles.

I was quite cross with myself yesterday, Saturday night was a hot, muggy one and I struggled to sleep, in the morning I told my DD what an awful night and she said "Why didn't you get a fan from the little bedroom, there's at least 2 in there." There was no answer to that, how stupid am I not to remember the fans obviously not in the Hot Summer mode yet especially has it only lasted a day!

More prompt layouts

I've downloaded another prompt from Scrapdolly's 52-10 project and realised that I haven't shown these layouts on my blog. I'm now seriously behind, having done 16 prompts and today's was number 23 but I'm hoping after this week things may settle down on the card making front and I shall have a bit more time.
My first layout is for the prompt about your dream house, to be honest I'm pretty much happy with my home, when you start life living with parents with no hope of affording your own home, the fact we do own our home is pretty much a dream come true. But I do dream of one of these, I download the pics from the image gallery of google. Left over Cosmo Cricket and Sis's MS leaf punch border may have to borrow that again.

Another prompt for where you worked, so I did my last job where I work for nearly 19 years, I saw a lot of changes through those years not all good either. There was challenge on this prompt to tear paper I wasn't that happy with this.

I hunted everywhere on the net looking for a pic of M&S Guildford or even an old one, so had to use a couple of pic of Guildford High Street. I was pretty sure Scrapdolly would do a prompt on where you live and sure enough she has but there are other photos I could use. Roughly where the arrow is pointed is about where M&S Guildford is.
So I'm seven prompts behind, two of which I'm having major inspiriation probs with but I'm hoping over time I will work it out.

Finally noticed I haven't popped my finished Indian Maiden on here, I don't know why she looks so crumpled since I always roll the linen. I have sew on the beads which I think possibly I meant to do that after I wash the fabric.

Sunday's High Hopes

I love this dancing cow and he's perfect for a Father's day card the challenge on High Hopes Challenge blog. I've used Basic Grey possible Granola but don't hold me to that.
Of course men's cards are a bit awkward when it comes to embellishments, so out came the brads. The background of the circle mat behind the cow was a bit plain and I couldn't think of a die or cricut cartridge with music note so I did them freehand, when I finished I realised I have a stamp set from Francoise Read which does!
The word strips are Stampin up but I have to make them longer. The best way is to stamp the words twice and then using the punch, punch across the stamps words this will now give you the right size to place over the words  that is left to draw round.
I had a fabulous day yesterday at MJ's Every Moment Matters Crop, I managed to do two layouts but they're for next month Challenge on the Cute and Girly. It's lovely not to worry about bringing food while there, we all always have a fabulous spread included in the price of the 12 hour crop and you always have a laugh. Whether you a card maker or a scrapbooking its always nice to meet people who have the same obsession with paper.
MJ also have some new Cuttlebug folders so I picked up the cogs one. Now I know I didn't need anymore paper but she was selling off some old ones and there was quite few Christmas designs and some more suitable for card making, well that's my excuse.

Double Whammy Saturday

Ok I should of know that when I put my stamped base through the cuttlebug the impression of the ground would look like a dirty mark but I suppose its better than my mouse flying in the air. This is my card for this week Penny Black Saturday Challenge for swirls.
I didn't get chance to make a card in time to show this sweet heart in the week but I managed to use her for Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge which is a fabulous sketch.
Now my Penny Black card is using Wild Rose papers again and flowers out of my stash, the swirls with the flowers are a ek sucess punch.
My other card the papers are Doodlebug which happened to drop into my basket last Saturday and the flowers are using various punches to look like the flowers in the paper.
Off to MJ of Every Moment Matters All Day Crop today, last month I was at MIL so really looking forward today, but apparently it was very quiet last month. Do you think they were hinting I'm very noisy!!!!!!

Sunny Friday

You know when you start something and things go wrong that just maybe you should put down the punch and go outside and catch some sunshine instead. First I really made this hAnglar girl to go with the bloom and grow download papers but there's a colour challenge on Cute Card Thursday for Blue, Black and Orange so I thought the forget me knot download would work instead.
I then cut her out and I cut out her legs so the little bit of white lace over her shoes would be more obvious, well I lost them and either though I have tidy my room since Wednesday they're no were in sight. I'm not convince I like the black even though there are some greyish black flowers!
I am pleased how ever with my envelope, which i paper piece but I stamped an extra envelope so I could cut out a flap and sort of managed to give it a frill edge but then I plonked a flower on it, now I wished I hadn't but it did need something to finish.
Of course I don't think the photographer is helping cos that ribbon is so bright and it isn't in real life.
Don't forget out to check out the new stamp on Secret Crafter, I didn't get time to use him but I've an idea if I can find out what I done with some thin bamboo!

Rock 'n' Roll Thursday

Another stamp release from Secret Crafter, love this couple they're going to be perfect for engagement and anniversary cards. Last few pages of the freebie papers from the craft magazine and I used the swirls cuttlebug folder which I then glittered the swirls. The sentiment is a Woodware one. Don't forget get to check out the DT showcasing this stamps on Saturday Challenge today.
Yesterday I got Hubby to take me to Hobbycraft for some more boxes, he blamed my Sis who said the stuff in baskets would look better in boxes and I sorted out a box of I don't know what to do with but I don't want to throw away. Of course they won't be throw away, since it was scrapbooking stuff, DD went through it and I probably let my scrapbuddies go through it too.
But it Sods law that one item I wanted to find I couldn't, I watch a lovely lady at the Glitter Pot who made some spiky flowers and you needed the slotted quilling tool which by the way I do have but do you think I can find it, so I've picked up another at Hobbycraft so I will probably find it now.

WOYWW

Just a quickie to prove that my desk is back to normal and a total MESS. I've had the kitchen sink out to make this card.
Also this is a view of my drawers that my Sister's school threw out cos of a wonky wheel, well they all came off and it sits proudly under my desk.
On the right hand side are drawers for my stickers, alphabest and rub-ons for Scrapbooking. I've one drawer of Tim Holtz, 2 drawers of inkpads, 2 every day drawers of Penny Black, 1 Christmas Penny Black, 2 of ribbon spools and 2 full of I don't know where to put them! They're not that deep, Honest.
Off to check out everyones elses WOYWW

Flying High Snoopy

Have I told you how pleased my order from Simon Says Stamps arrived last week, I have haven't I but this card just wouldn't have been done. The challenge on Simon Says Stamps Challenge is for Father's Day and Simon has the amazing collection of Snoopy Stamps which is perfect for the challenge.
We have a soft spot for Snoopy, when I met my Hubby he had loads of Charlie Brown and Snoopy books.
Also on Fran's blog a few weeks ago she used an Hero Arts Cloud stamp, well I couldn't get my hands on one till I discovered that Simon had one and as you can see I used it for the background. I know I have a template but its quite hard on the hands especially a large area.
The papers are Summer Designs download, I believe is could be called Freedom but it was a while I downloaded it. The sentiment is one I discovered I had from where I do not know and to finish off a couple of Cuttlebug corners. Hope you can join us this week and as always the prize is:

Don't forget to check out the Secret Crafter new stamp on the post below.

Poor Boy

Another adorable new stamp available from Secret Crafter and he is a dream to colour. Do check over to Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge blog to see how the fabulous cards that the DT have done. The papers I've used are Cosmo Cricket but I've managed to mix to packs together. I'm afraid I've cut a sentiment in half so it would fit in the circle. I've also faux stitch on anything that needed to be stuck down.
I disappointed how the card photo and the little chap is looking wishy washy which he so isn't so I've a few cards to photo today so I will have another go.
Edited, this is another pic, slightly better than the one I put on first thing.

Busy Tuesday

Summer is the challenge on EverybodyArt Challenge and I couldn't think of stamp better suited that this Sarah Kay. I've used the sweet papers from Wild Rose and followed the sketch on Sketch Saturday. You can see that Martha Stewart Doily punch had an outing along with my daisy punches. The sentiment are from a pack I brought on Sat that Paula Pascale had designed.
Remember how pleased I was that my Simon Says Stamps parcel arrived last week.
I brought the Tim Holtz swirls and they are perfect for this layout of my In-laws, I can see they will be used a lot in my scrapboooking. The papers are Kaiser which are so yummy I brought the 6inch pack from Simon Says Stamps too. These layouts our for By the Cute and Girly challenge of Something New, Old, Borrowed and Blue. The pic of In-laws, is old and not sure how but I borrowed the photo to scan ages ago.

I haven't scrapped for ages so I do feel I've lost the plot a bit. This is a very simple layout of my Niece and her new Hubby leaving the wedding venue last year and I just had to add the pic of Neil's Dad waving goodbye. The patterned paper has some of the petals missing so whatever colour you put underneath show through, I think it could Making Memories, the it was a title cut on the Cricut and the other words are little word stickers. Good old Martha Stewart hearts and the fiskars threading water punch.
Don't forget to check out Secret Craft Challenge Blog there's another image being showcased, unfortunately I didn't get time to use this image but I've coloured her yesterday so she is ready to use.
