Penny Black on Tuesday

I don't think this photo of my Penny Black Saturday challenge is too bad since I had to take it at night, it took several tries working out where to put the daylight lamp but the poor mouse's body is 3d though you wouldn't think it. This is a fab sketch from Nat and although its sort of the same colours its not the Daisy Bucket papers that I used on Sunday but there's only bits of this left too so I'm trying to use it up to justified buying more.
edited changed the photo to one taken in daylight.

Sketch Saturday Bunny

Can you believe it but this poor bunny has never been inked and I've had him for ages, I think he's Pringle there was also another bunny but I only brought this one from Funky Kits. So I thought it only fair to use him for Sketch Saturday, the papers I think is Pebbles but again don't hold me to that, the label has long since been cut off. I really wasn't going to use my new leaf punch, honest because there's no green in the papers I didn't think it would work and I just happened to see what it would like and I liked it but that could be I'm biased and just wanted to use them. Another fab sentiment from Cuddly Buddly.

Orange Sunday

This weeks sketch on Friday sketchers is from Heidi, once again out comes the Daisy Bucket papers, the size of the stripes depended on how much I've got left. It was really annoying though cos I found some more of the stripy papers after I finished the card. The sentiment is Cuddly Buddly, I cute out the sentiment and punch a contrasting circle with a Woodware yellow circle punch works brilliantly together.

So now down to some scraps although I think I may have just enough for one more card. I used them on Tamarra's sketch. Some punch flowers and of course my new leaf punch, you will be bored seeing it soon its a case of new punch must use it on everything. The sentiment is Hero Arts clear stamps.

So has soon as the bags are packed we're off for a flying visit to MIL, must make sure DD knows not to use the washing machine, the engineer came out to fix it but it now leaks even worse.
Don't worry I've a few cards scheduled if blogger loves me.

Valentine Saturday

I did buy this couple from Magnolia's love collection, thought it would work for engagement, anniversary or wedding but she's so cute she will work on her own too. I've used the challenge on Cute Card Thursday, which is Music or Dance, I've used a line in the Shoop Shoop song very appropriate for today don't you think. Do you notice the embossed hearts didn't know Cuttlebug did one till I saw it on Marlou blog, it does come with a die with words so it worked out quite expensive if you just wanted the folder. The papers are Dovecraft, Laura Ashley collection I think, the bag has long since disappeared, the sentiment done on PC and yes I've used the MS punch again.

Doodling Friday

At last my new Tilda's, trust me to be the one that they sell out with but they said they would have more on Monday. They were right and they were duly posted on Monday, here Wednesday and yesterday my first card made. I didn't buy them for Valentines, I had chosen ones that would work for other events. I so love this one with the puppy.

Now I know I said that all the Daisy Bucket papers were gone but what I meant was that selection, this is another collection but there's not much of this one left. I can't doodle but I managed to doodle faux stitching so I reckon I can use this card for A spoonful of sugar challenge and do you spy my new leaf punch its really hard to punch with so I will get a collection of green papers and get hubby to punch loads out. I found it at the Glitter Pot, only problem you get free postage if you spend £40!

Frosty Thursday

I had these papers already out and I loved the hearts I made last week for the Ismaki challenge, so I made a couple more but larger and had the idea of using the CPS102 sketch, well it started with the sketch and sort of went its own way. The swirl and letters are cut with cricut and the stamp I've used for the hearts as well as the word mat is crafty individuals. The camera hasn't seem to capture the colours very well and its not quite wishy washy in real life.

Of course I've got the new Elizabeth Bell stamps from Funky kits do you really think I could resist. Doodlebug papers again and using the Papertake weekly sketch. I didn't want to use brads and gems because this is on its way to a little girl who is not quite 3 who couldn't make Great Nanny and Great Grandad Golden Wedding, she had to stay at home with her Dad looking after her Chicken Pox. Certainly having a probs with the camera because that ribbon matched the papers pretty well.

Someone has asked how I colour my images, I use both prismacolours and polychromos pencils and sansador, using paperstumps.

I have some awards this one is from Karen, thanks.

A smack for me cos I forgot Tracey sent me this award too, hope you had a great birthday.

So yesterday I tried to break blogger by loading my A-Z of me on my other blog. You can find it HERE

Icy Wednesday

There's a brilliant sketch from Katharina on the High Hopes Challenge blog and also they calling for Guest designers for 3 months with their choice of some stamps. Not sure this card is good enough but I didn't want to over power it with big flowers. I was trying to use the colour combo on Colour Create challenge of Aqua and Peach but to be honest I haven't got any Peach and the closest was this pink but I think it works quite well. Yes the aqua piece is a bit of those Daisy Bucket ones that I said was all gone but this piece was hiding in between some other papers, the flowery paper is Chatterbox and although the challenge option was to make your own flowers I've used these Prima ones.

When I saw the sketch on 2 sketches4you, it made me think of a tall card and I realised I haven't used this elegant lady for a while and I just love paper piecing her and BG works so well for this.

They are also offering some Blog Candy for some Eye Candy, basically they're asking for a Pic of the one you love on your blog. Not sure you would call my hubby Eye Candy but he is mine.

Soggy Tuesday

The one time I didn't check Daring cardmakers blog only to find the challenge is an Oriental card not using red and black, it was to late because I had already paper pieced my Oriental girl but I did use Sketch Saturday sketch and the Basic Grey Challenge was to use two different ranges which I have the green background is Archaic and the rest is Boxer. The lovely sweet Oriental girl is another Dream2stamp and she comes has a pair.

Now the Penny Black challenge was for Romance, so I thought this pair of geese would be nice a quick card to make till I decided I wanted the scenery background stamp from Alota stamps to be behind them and because I decided it would be Anniversary card for hubby I needed to find some more masculine papers then I put flowers on it, so its not all that masculine after all. I used the Ismaki sketch because I needed help because its a large card. The sentiment was done on the PC, its really corny but its out song, it was playing on the radio when we first met.And a big Thank you to Joey for this marvellous award, she not feeling very well at the mo, nasty tooth abcess hope it gets better soon.

Its a good job DD is not going to work today, the Pub where she is assistant manager is on the river and its about to burst it banks.

Friday Sketchers

The idea was to come home from Mum and Dad's party and while hubby went of with BIL in the evening to make a card but I was hurting quite a bit and the only place I could get comfy was in bed. So my card that I started had to wait till yesterday to be finished off. This is one of my DT Dream2stamp stamps, I had great fun cutting out the butterflies and just maybe got slightly carried away. The papers are Doodlebug, the sentiment is Cuddly Buddly and I've used Claudia's fantastic sketch on Friday Sketchers

Just a couple of pics, this one of all my Brothers and Sister with my Mum and Dad and below is Mum with Elliott, who has lost his spot of being the youngest Great Grandchild, little Connor is the latest and sixth Grandchild for my youngest brother.

My nephew Simon is convinced that the album I made and on my other blog is password protected and had to inform as long as you knew where to look its available for all to see.

Golden Day

Donalda on WOJ challenge blog has designed the sketch this week, she sometimes has sketches on her blog which I keep meaning to do so I'm please I managed to do this sketch. I was going through BG papers looking for something for another image and decided this would work with this image. I'm ashamed to say that this is the first time this little darling has been inked up. The papers are quite busy so I punched the small flowers and again I've used the cuttlebug corners.

Congratulations to my Mum and Dad who celebrate their Golden Wedding today, as my brother said its quite an achievement for someone who has been married three times. Mum's first husband was tragically killed while she was seven months pregnant, the second I believe wasn't very nice and if she didn't get married a third time I wouldn't be here, what a disaster that would of been.

Wet Friday

Can you believe it but I haven't 3d this Sarah Kay image for the Spoonful of Sugar challenge which is a fabulous sketch. You will be pleased to hear that these Daisy Bucket papers have now all gone, nearly every last bit has been used.

There's another challenge blog using sketches called Inspirational Card Sketches, so I thought I would give it a go, it didn't quite go to plan, the pearlescent patterned paper doesn't seem to work with the white, so I put the flower on and now I don't like that but it would be unfair not to see the gorgeous Primrose in her itsy bitzy polka dot bikini. I do love her we have so much in common although you won't see me in a bikini it would clear the beach.

On a happy note the Postman been and he didn't lose the Glitter pot parcel and my DT stamps have arrived from dream2stamp, so I'm a happy bunny.

Ismaki Trio

I struggled yesterday to make a card with the sketch I wanted to use it just didn't work and the whole time I was thinking of the Ismaki sketch and how I would use the three Elisabeth Bell girls from Funky kits. I think it works pretty well the option was for hearts so I made mine with a punch, some swirly stamps and white embossing powder. The flowers are Prima and the dotty paper is Daisy Bucket.
Still no post, I hope the Post Office doesn't mislaid my order there's some sweet PB stamps in that parcel and I've been over to Funky Kits maybe the Elisabeth Bell stamps have fallen into my basket and I made sure I didn't pre-order the Gorjuss Girls at the same time so I won't have to wait.
We was going up North to see MIL, she's had an op on her foot, she's fine at home but we thought we could restock her larder while up there but we've had to cancel the weather for the next few days is for Snow so we've postponed it to the following week.

Basic Grey Sketch

I had the BG Urban Prairie pad on my desk and I thought I'll have a go with the Sketch on Basic Grey challenge blog. Love these papers, I think another pack may fall into a shopping basket soon, I've also used my Martha Stewart punch since I've done a couple of cards without it. For some reason I struggled with the sketch, not sure why and I've lost count how many different flowers I've tried and I'm still not particularly happy with these.

So the two cards I've made for my Niece's friend are sitting in a very full Post box and it looks very unlikely that they will arrive in time tomorrow. This is what they're are missing, I have contacted my niece to warn her that they may have to go to a shop and actually buy one.

Snow day

So the challenge on High Hopes challenge blog is from Ila and if you haven't checked out her blog well you have surely been missing some wonderful creations, her colouring is amazing, back to the challenge which is for lace. I've layered my lace because its tiny and I felt three strips of it gave it a bit more depth, the papers are BG and the butterfly and flowers are the freebies from Papermania and of course the fairy is High Hopes.

Catching up with a couple of lovely awards from Sarah, many thanks .

So its official we had a Snow day yesterday and it doesn't look much better today, although a bus did manage to get up my hill this morning but I haven't seen one for a while. I doubt I'll see a Postman today either especially since I've had a despatch e-mail from Glitter Pot and hubby walked again to work. You have to understand that the last time I remember this much snow was in 1987 when my DD was 3 and had just started playschool, two afternoons a week, she had only just settled in and I remember putting her in a sledge, all wrapped up and cosy and pulling her along there.

Cupcake Mouse

My card this morning seem an anti-climax due to the snowfall in the south-east of England this is so unusual for us. It's still snowing steadily, my hubby went out a couple of hours (not in the car he walked) to work and his footsteps are now covered.
Back to the card, its using the sketch for Sketch Saturday and finally I've used my WOJ mouse he wasn't suppose to be cut out but I didn't leave enough room between the stamped images. Not sure on the papers and its on an A6 card so I can send that to Marie Curie that Do-Crafts are collecting for.
I've also been luck to win some amazing High Hopes stamps and whats even better I don't have them.

We have SNOW

I've taken these photos about 10 minutes ago, the Patio table show how deep its snowed, haven't seen it this bad for 22 years. My DD won't forget her Birthday this year. Back later with a card.

Early Sunday Morning

Mmmmm have to say when I saw the challenge on Penny Black Saturday for a circular card, I wasn't keen but that why we do challenges. I'm still not keen and the only time you'll see another circular card will be if there is another challenge for one. I saw this PB stamp on another blog and felt guilty that I hadn't inked him up. The circle card was cut out on the cricut using the Fabulous Finds cartridge and the funny shaped scallop is using Storybook and punched daisies.
Off to Scrapbuddies crop this morning so this is being scheduled. Hopefully I will finish my journal today and FairyKaren can give me some ideas for a Golden Wedding, yes I know I haven't done it yet but Gold is just not my colour, added to the fact I've been asked to do 2 Birthday cards and I tried to convince them that their Mum makes more traditional cards and I do cute but it didn't work.
