Monochromatic

If my understanding is correct Monochromatic is the use of two colours, for example black or white, so I apologise if I've misunderstood the challenge on Penny Black Saturday because I've used Turquoise and white. Saying that though I found it brilliant for making quick cards except for putting the gems on the PB Fantasy Tree, I kept moving them around. I don't know whose papers I've used and a selectection of gems, pearls and peel offs.

And if you make one why not make a few more so I've used different paper and because I was making them for my Christmas cards I didn't worry about using an extra colour. The papers were some Paper Adventure that I've had for ages, Ok years then.

And look what Joey sent me, I know I have had it before but it still a brilliant feeling when another crafter appreciates your blog.

I have to check around to see who hasn't received this yet.

Another week

Another cute Tilda this time using Craftwork papers and Sketch Saturday#25. I've change the heart into a bell which was also in the stamp club to match the little bell Tilda was holding and lots of matting and layering.

The crop was a laugh and I still managed to do another page for A-Z journal just need to photo it can't believe that there is only another 3 letters to do now. But working out the weeks before Christmas I really need to get on top of these Christmas cards, their inserts especially and I need to make some tags for the presents so I can wrap them and I usually have all this done by the time we go up to see MIL which is just over a couple of weeks.

Friday Sketchers Skaters

I can't help it but I'm loving the new Magnolia stamps aren't these two so cute.I followed Murmur's sketch for Friday Sketchers although I have turned it and the buttons have been replaced by the acetate with stickles on which I used for the ice rink. The embossed snowflakes have also been glittered but photo's don't always show it but I can promise you its there and all over me too. The ribbons are from Poppicraft, papers Doodlebug again and all the stamps are Magnolia.

Blogger is being a pain everytime I replace a word or correct a spelling its' writing over what I've already written and it driving me potty. So I'm not checking for typos or just plain bad grammer.

Today I'm off to Scrapbuddies at Mychett Community Centre it should be a quiet one because FairyKaren is at Scrap-a-ganza and even though Valelady is in Holland she isn't with Karen but hopefully will be sitting down with Janet to maybe start a crop blog to keep everyone up to date with the crops etc.

Kissing couple

I couldn't resist playing with the Stamp club, I especially think these two are cute. By the time I had extended the bench, the image was huge and would only work on a large card and it didn't really work with lots of layers so I get it simple and let the stamps do the talking. All the stamps are Magnolia and the papers are Doodlebug. This card took a while with all the colouring and cutting out, hubby promptly put his foot in it and said after Christmas it would end up in someones bin. Hopefully the person I've earmarked this one for will appreciate it and keep it for a while. Since I've only use mostly red and green I can put this one forward for the Cute Card Thursday challenge.

TGIF

I know this isn't a card for Jake for a start there's a girl on it, but I was just getting ready to colour the images when the Postman arrived with the Winter Stamp Club from Magnolia and they are fabulous possibly the best kit ever. So I quickly mounted them on that awful stuff EZ mount, I decided on this little cutie because she would work everyday too as you can see she's on a childs card especially for spoonful of sugar challenge. It's a shame but the photo colours have gone a bit weird looking and the papers from a Scrapagogo kit don't look as nice.

Not sure I'm going to be able to resist the rest of the stamps, theres a couple skating and a pair ready to kiss under the misletoe.

Where did Wednesday go

Where did the day go, only managed to finish this card using Kazan sketch#13 on 2sketches 4 you. Seeing I had BG Wassail out already, I used it for this card, the papers to me are awkward not sure whether to use white or cream card to go with it, but on this one I used cream and the frame behind Joy is cut from the Storybook cricut cartridge along with the JOY. You can tell I love the holly from the christmas cheer cartridge is just finishes of a card .

Now on Tilda & Friends ATC we had a swop with Shary arranging it, and here is the little darling I received back from Beth isn't she cute. Thanks Shary for taking the time out to arrange this swop and thanks Beth for joining in.

Its my nephew's second birthday soon so I thought I might use the Spoonful of Sugar challenge but it's a bit of a challenge and half, so hope I get it finished for tomorrow.

Whose idea was it to make Christmas Countdowns do I really need to know it 42 days to go.

Wednesday Edition

Dawn has drawn another fabulous sketch for Papertake Weekly and I keep going back to the wonderful Sugar Nellie, this time I've used some Imaginesce papers. I've kept it quite simple I need a lot more cards to go through the post.

With the new pack of BG Wassail there is a page of embellishments that I usually rarely use, so I thought I will use them for this card for CPS#90. I may have gone over the top with the brads though, the holly is cut from Christmas Cheer cricut cartridge.

I nearly didn't make a card yesterday, the plan was to slowly go through the file cabinet and shred it. The first folder I went through I discovered some important papers missing, so I had to go through the whole cabinet because I couldn't rest till I found them. Yes I did eventually find them but I've huge pile of shredding and the poor shredding can't cope, it keeps overheating.

Tuesday's Tilda

Isn't she gorgeous, Magnolia have brought out some stamps for St Lucia which is celebrated on the 13th December in Sweden but I couldn't resist her she is so lovely. Now in Sweden her dress should be white with a red ribbon tie but has I'm making her for Christmas I've used the last sheet of my favourite LilyKate from BG. I've paper pieced her dress and her headress and kept the card very simple so I can use it for Magnolia V Stampavie challenge, the sentiment is also from Magnolia and the yellow woodware punch works perfectly.

Well I think we had enough rain yesterday to last us the rest of year, my poor town came to a halt for most of the afternoon and evening due to flooding of the main routes through the town flooded.

At last

Finally a card for BIL, now that I've broken into BG offbeat it would be a shame not to carry on using it, the PB cat stamp belongs to Sis and birthday sentiment is from Stamps Away. To make life easy I've use the brilliant sketch on Friday Sketchers from Kristine. Now I know the orange brads are bright but they don't stand out in real life as they do in the photo.

Charlotte was already coloured and just waiting to be put together on a card and when I saw Sketch Saturday, it worked out really well, I've used Daisy Bucket papers again and the fabulous snowflake die from cuttlebug, wasn't too sure on the shape on the main mat but flipping over the corner works really well.

So a sucessful weekend because I also managed to do two letters of my A-Z journal.

Breezy Sunday

Ok its not a man's card but I was checking out the challenges and Penny Black Saturday's was to use a sentiment stamp and not an image and I had just the stamp. I brought this sentiment as soon as I read it for some reason it touched home. Once stamped it was a case of finding some paper, I finally used BG Offbeat, which needed no other decoration than a few flowers and a butterfly made with white card and another sheet of Offbeat. I really pleased with how it turned out but its not suitable for my BIL.
While rummaging through my christmas papers I found a scrap of the Snowmen from BG, I think its Fruitcake, when I saw the snowmen it reminded me of Tamara sketch #69 so I chopped it into three stitched round it to bring it all together and Noel was cut with the Storybook cricut cartridge using the another sheet of BG. This card won't work for my BIL either.

Pip and Angels

So this week on Cute Cards Thursday the challenge is for Fairies or Angels, Leanne used some angels similar to the two I have got and because I love them I had to use them. I've used a sketch very similar to the card here, which was for CPS#60, my Angels are Judikins, the papers are again Daisy Bucket, I think they are last years Christmas designs and I probably brought them from either The Glitter Pot or Crafts U Love, the sentiment is Craftwork cards.
Now for this little chap I used Karin sketch on Just Christmas and Birthdays, the sentiment is Stamps Away and Pip is from Funky Kits.

So the plan for the weekend to make some cards for some Birthdays coming up and to catch up on my A-Z journal.

Blue sky Friday

So for a change I've got out the Daisy Bucket Christmas papers and using the fabulous sketch from WOJ challenge with the Charlotte, another Christmas card done.

Not too sure on this card, I've used the fab Laura's sketch#12 on 2 sketches 4 you, I've used two scoops BG and I like the border using Martha stewart punch, the flowers and brads are out of my stash. I've got another couple of Christmas cards almost ready to show and then I need to make a couple of men's cards, yuck.

Damp Thursday

I think I sorted out the fuzzy photos in the morning its called a tripod which I was too lazy to get out but after trying to photo these two this morning and failing I decided to try it. Have to say I pleased with they way they turned out. Yes more pebbles paper for this Ismaki #38 sketch from Bea, the cute image is Elizabeth Bell from Funky kits, the tag words are a Hero Arts stamp, the fab ribbon from Poppicrafts who have 25% off the Christmas shop at the moment.

I struggled with CPS#89 this week, still not sure but its growing on me, the papers are including the fab tree are My Minds Eye Snowed In kit that I won at the crop at the weekend, the lace is from a Scrapagogo kit, flower from Poppicrafts, the sentiment Woodware. I handstitched the border and glossy accents was used on the circles.

I've received another Fab Award this time from Heather. Many thanks Heather.
Now I've only just discovered that I've received this award so I will need to have a think and find out who hasn't already received it yet.

Firework Wednesday

Spoonful of Sugar has a sketch from Trina, this week and I've had a count of how many Christmas cards I need to make which I why I've used Charlie from WOJ. So be warned that the next few weeks Christmas cards are the order of the day till I get bored with them. I've used the Pebbles papers since I hadn't put them away from earlier this week, some silver ribbon and a craftwork sentiment. It still needs some glitter, but it's a normal post cards which I definitely need more of. I've worked out for normal post I can tie a bow but no knots, tiny brads and no buttons and not too many layers.
Do you like my new look Blog, I don't know why I took so long to do it, it was really easy.

Still Catching up

I'm running a bit late due to the fact yesterday we went to Bluewater to do some Christmas Shopping, I know its quite early but we go up to see MIL at the beginning of December and have to have the pressies ready to take up so its just easier to get it sorted out together. We had a lovely time DD came too but it was a bit spoilt by grotty service in TGI Fridays but still we managed to get quite a few pressies.

So my card was delayed till now and poor Daisy has been waiting to be coloured for a few days now, isn't she so cute. I've used her for the Sketch Saturday from Coco this week and the papers were discovered when we pulled out all my stash to fit the unit, it says Websters and I've no idea where I brought them. Some ribbon, prima flowers and papermania gems to finish.

Job to do this week is to count how many Christmas cards are done and work out how many more to be made.

CHAOS

CHAOS is the word to describe my craft room, yesterday there was a point where I thought all my stash wouldn't fit in but apart from a drawer of scraps, its in. But it doesn't flow like it used to and Hubby's eyes glazed over at that point. So this morning there was no card and for some strange reason I can't photo in morning either, not sure how the camera knows it morning but they always come out fuzzy. But you can see I can photo at lunchtime and here's my Friday sketchers card, the papers are Pebbles, stamp is Sugar Nellie's Snowfamily and snowflakes are cut on the cricut. The good thing is this card has been through my plastic postage thingy and its normal post, so it just needs to be glitterized and another Christmas card done.

Scrapping Weekend

I had a fantastic time at the Every Moment Matters crop, MJ looks after us so well and I always manage to scrap too. But even better this time I won the the challenge, we were given two pieces of paper and I'm sorry MJ but one of them was horrid and it had to be used, so it went under the photos. You could then add four things, luckily that didn't include photos, mine was a piece of bazzill, the flower, the brad and finally the sticker. I've cut the circles to frame the picture mat, it was the quickest LO and I got loads of stash for it too.

I couldn't go to a crop and not scrap Jake, so here here is, the frame is a handmade doodle.

While we were in Spain John wanted to taste lobster, it would have helped if it was in season but one restaurant phoned around and managed to get two from further down the coast and then they went down there to get them. I did a LO telling the story and how by the same evening Feliu had turned the lobster claw into keyrings. If blogger allows you can click on it to make it larger.

Not sure if I will get into my craft room today Hubby is planning on putting a new unit in my room and it will need a sort out to get things to fit properly.

At last

So want do you do when you're mojo left you, well I get out my favourite stamp which is this personal impression butterfly because whatever I use it on, it always looks fab. So using Dawn's first sketch for Papertake Weekly and some BG Euphoria, add gems to the embossed flower and I feel better already, although it was devil to photo.

Another favourite stamp HobbyArt Daisy, using Making Memories papers and some die cuts, I followed the sketch on 2 sketches 4 you, the sentiment and corner swirls are Scrappy cat stamps that I got from Ally Pally.

I've had this stamp from Penny Black for a while and I used this weeks CPS#88 sketch. the background swirl was cut from the Storybook cricut cartridge and I stamped the tree and embossed with white embossing powder which I also used for the sentiment.

Off to Every Moment Matters all day crop today so its an early start hope there's some BG Wassail left. And Sis if you are reading this don't forget your plate and cutlery.
