Magnetic Monday

I do love paper piecing images its a great way of bringing the papers and the image together. The challenge on Penny Black Saturday is for ribbons and on Karin's blog she has a sketch that I thought would work well for the ribbons, the sentiment is Hero Arts and the papers Making Memories.
Here's two more pages for my A-Z journal, I'm now on Q which I'm really not sure what to do but I have a CJ to complete before I can do it so have some more time to think about it but at least I have some ideas for the next letters thanks to the girls at Scrapbuddies.

Remarkable Sunday

I blame Leann making me feel guilty about some of the rubber stamps I have that have not been inked yet, I've used the background before but not the Tilda even though I had her for ages. I followed the sketch on Friday Sketchers by Mumur, not sure if the tag works but its on there now. Ribbon is from Poppicrafts and the papers are Paper Studio, I think I may have brought them from Crafts U Love.
Today I'm off to Scrapbuddies at Mychett, I'm getting lunch today because Nannette isn't coming so hopefully I don't poison my Sis.

Sparkling Saturday

Isn't she gorgeous, this is my new Whiff Of Joy stamp, coloured her with prisms but I may have over done the glitter its on all edges of the blue cardstock, her wings and I even used glitter card for the corners. The little sentiment is from Craftwork Cards, the organza ribbon is made out of some material that was cut into strips so I can use this card for the Cute Card Thursday Challenge for soft furnishings.
Here's a close up of the angel.

I got roped into helping my Sis with a card making class with some of the ladies at Mums Warden Assisted place. Bless them they thought Sis was demo-ing but she actually was getting them to make cards. I do think that getting them rubber stamping was ambition to start with but they were in their element with Peel Offs, which we watercoloured although one poor lady kept smudging hers and she said it was ruined but by the time I was finished no-one would have know. As I told them there's no mistakes in card making just Happy Accidents. They want us to come again!

It's the Scrapbuddies crop tomorrow so if you in the Mychett Surrey area do come and join us and if you not sure just pop in to say Hello.

Flourishing Friday

On A Spoon Full of Sugar the challenge is for a card with a secret message, so I decided on this style. I've used the wonderful Elizabeth Bell stamp from Funky Kits, craftwork papers, blossoms from Poppicrafts and my stash and the ribbons from Poppicrafts
I've used the bottom flower as stop for the circle so it stops exactly where it needs to, to hide the message.
The sentiment is Hero Arts and the swirls are out of Scrapagogo kit.

I've had to get that awful EZ mount stuff again, my Whiff of Joy stamps have arrived and are ready to go and I've picked up some new Christmas papers from Papermania and Trimcraft but I need to tidy up my desk because at the moment I can't find it.

Productive Thursday

I want to thank Shary for the idea of using acetate, as a part of DT of Tilda & Co she had used acetate for the Christmas challenge and reminded me that I wanted to have a go since seeing the article in Simply Cards by Julie Hickey. Things were going fine until the snowflakes and a bit of glue hopefully you can't see it.
The inside still needs a bit of work but the card was taking forever don't think I will be making too many of these.
The papers are scraps of Doodlebug and love the threading water punch. Also used the snowflakes from the Cuttlebug.

This card was inspired by Scrap, Paper, Scissors every day this week there's a tutorial using punches not just for Scrapbooking but there's some fab cards too. I thought the windmills would work great with CPS 77 sketch and I used some Crate paper from last year forgot what it was called.

Also check out the fantastic Blog candy on Enfys she makes the amazing cards especially when using the cricut.

Worthy Wednesday

Another Sugar Nellie that I just fancied to coloured and when I put him on the a card and wondered what to do with the side, I found out the challenge on Papertake Weekly is for buttons which was just what this card needed. The papers are scraps and the sentiment is Francoise Read Birthday collection.
I brought a PB stamp to go with the cuttlebug embossing folder but it's huge but I do have this little one, I used Marvy pens on the stamp instead of ink and the words are elzybells, this was made for the Penny Black Saturday sketch. I used a cuttlebug die for the decorative accents.
I've managed to get hold of some photos of my DS has Best Man and I've been informed that this is nearest I will get to see him wed. I've choosen this one because you can't really see his face and he moans about being seen on my blog and the look on his face is typical David.

A big Thank You to Suzanne who has awarded "I love your Blog" to me even though she knew I had already received it but still wanted to award it me cos she loves my blog, sending it straight back to you cos I love your blog too.

Tantalizing Tuesday

Crafting wasn't working yesterday, nothing seem to go right so I just coloured this Sugar Nellie Fisherman from Funky kits with no idea what to do with it but I must have been thinking of Friday sketchers because while colouring I thought about Jane Dean's idea of recycling the onion netting for a beach LO she did couple of years ago. I still have some orange BG and the fish were left over from another card, just needed an embellishment that wasn't a flower thats where the bottle cap came from using one the fish and some glossy accents. Now this cheeky chappie was already coloured was going to use him the other week with the High Hopes Giraffe and Tiger but changed my mind. I used BG papers and Sketch Saturday sketch, not sure if its a bit of a overload of patterned papers but it did help to get crafting again yesterday.

Taking it easy

We're back but the last ten days and the blonde driving a Volvo convertible pulled out on us just before we got home and OH had to do an emergency stop has taken its toll. One of my greatest achievements this weekend that I haven't been to a craftshop or shopped online but still managed to buy a stamp. My Sis and friends booked a class at the Glitter Pot with Francoise, yes I know we took a class with her last week but we thought we'll give her a surpise, I unfortunately had to cancel but Sis text me pic of the fab cards they made in their beautiful airy classroom and I just had to buy one of the stamps.

While I've been away taking MIL back I've received I love your blog Award from both Charli and Sonia both of them have fabulous blogs, its going to be hard to choose who to pass it on.

Travelling Saturday

Its been really difficult to leave my MIL in one room and I go into my craft room, she doesn't craft. So no cards today but I will leave you with one of the boards that Jenny from HobbyArt made using her sea scene stamps she is extremely clever and the second pic is a card using her tree stamp, if you was watching Ideal World I think on Monday you would have seen her demo how this card was made. I know The Art of Craft has most of these stamps, not sure if they're online but I know if you rang them they would be more than happy to help.

Off to take MIL home.

Fashionable Friday

Now originally I was making this for a spoonful of sugar recycle challenge because I used the circle for another card but when I finished the fish I decided to go for Cute Card Thursday Two of us. Fishy stamps are High Hopes, these ones I brought from Silly Monkeys, coloured with prisms, the frame was made with a hero art stamp, stamped with versamark and embossed with clear powder and then blue ink sponge over, the bubbles background is some blue vellum that I embossed with the cuttlebug.

Yesterday we went Milestones in Basingstoke, it was great and interesting to see children with parents and grandparents. It was a recreation of early life at the start of the industrial revolution to the almost today. What was scary was an exhibition of household gagets and my Kenwood Chefette that was a wedding present was sitting in a display cabinet.

Tempting Thursday

It's beening very difficult to keep up with the challenges while my MIL is here sneaking off now and again, life would be much easier if she had a hobby. Anyway managed to do the sketch on Papertake Weekly by Katharina, who does brilliant sketches. I've used the paper pack from Craftwork cards, the sentiment is Autumn leaves and of course the Sarah Kay stamp.

Katharina has some wonderful candy Whiff of Joy Guardian Angel collection by Elizabeth Bell do pop along and check it out and Katharina brilliant cards.

Enthusiastic Wednesday

Although I don't make cards to order, the ones I do make I either give to my Mum or my Sis and they try to sell them for me, so I get a phone call from Mum that she needs some fella cards and we all know how easy they are. But this little Penny Black dog is so cute and I think he works really well for a fella's card and he was made for a challenge , The Penny Black challenge where no PINK is allowed, I was a bit sneaky cos there's just a little taste of pink on his cheeks and pads.

Had a great day out both at Crafts U love and the Glitter pot, my DD was impressed as she hasn't been before and the charm worked a bit on OH. The Glitter Pot has had a new extension, even more lovelies.

To finish the day we out for a meal in the evening DS choice for his Birthday, wouldn't recommend the coffee at the end of meal couldn't get to sleep last night.

Terrific Tuesday

After a weeks break Tilda & Co have come up with sketch challenge, so using magnolia's cupcakes as well as baking Tilda this is what I came up with. I stamped using a brown inkpad but now I realised why I went back to black because the camera doesn't pick up the Tilda's features when I photo the card. I also used little droplet of glossy accents on the strawberries and the heart biscuits not sure if you will see better if click on the pic.

Well MIL is here, the train down was a much better idea than the coach and she arranged for help onto the train with her case so that was brilliant and OH got a platform ticket and helped her off the train. So today's trip out, that will be Crafts U love and the Glitter pot not that I have any craft pennies left so I may have to turn on the charm.

Magnificent Monday

These are the fab cards we made with Francoise Read on Saturday, although I could have done with a bit more inking round the edges of the kimono.
This is my card I made at the Makes & Takes at The Art of Craft yesterday, we used craftwork cards and it only cost a pound which was going to Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice anyway. It was extra fun cos FairyKaren was in charge so we could a good old chat while making the cards.
This version was my Sis, we had a brilliant time, there was someone playing with the cuttlebug so much so I had to buy another folder because I loved the card she made. The lovely Jenny from Hobby Art was there spending my money has usual, more demo's with craftwork cards, docrafts and a lovely lady using thick embossing and Gloria using punches. A great day hope they do another.
Time to catch up from over the weekend many thanks to Louise from New Zealand, isn't it amazing how blogging brings together like minded people from all over the world.
Carol and Debbie has tagged me to post 6 random facts, what I found interesting though Carol worked for M&S so did I but a bit longer than Carol and Debbie married her first love who she met at 15, Me too.

Serene Sunday

Sorry no cards but here's my O for Optimistic entry for my A-Z journal and once again thanks to Jan who help with the theme again. I hope she has her thinking cap on because after P, I need more help. The papers are scraps again with no company details on them but I think I got them last year in a kit.
Well I had huge probs yesterday blog hopping, I thought my PC was having probs again but it turns out that Internet Explore itself was having probs so I haven't been able to visit all of my blog list in my favourites.
I had a great day yesterday, first lunch at Nannette's who puts on a lovely spread and then a great class with Francoise Read at Art and Authors in Fleet.
Today there's a demo day at The Art of Craft in North Camp, Farnborough the one in Hampshire between 10 am - 4 pm so we'll be popping in there later.

Sensational Saturday

This started life as Friday sketch #13 but it sort went its own way a bit, I've used Moxie doublesided cardstock that I brought from Newbury, Francoise Read stamp for the sentiment and of course a Sarah Kay stamp.
One very large shed, which we have put back all the stuff round the house and I managed to put loads of other stuff that was making our house untidy in there too, although I've been told that it has to go back in the house when MIL has gone back home. So the house almost ready for MIL on Monday.

Fascinating Friday

I'm so crossed with myself because this pic is still a bit blurry and I tried a least a dozen times to photo it. This is a card for Cute Card Thursday, In the house, has you can see I've used a Sarah Kay stamp the artist and it wouldn't be one of my cards if some of it wasn't 3d and the papers are PaperStudio. I thought I would photo a close up so you can see the layers but its still not that clear.
With the leftover scraps from the card on Monday I made this ATC for Tilda & friends challenge which is for Beads, the beads I've choosen was a childs bracelet that I broke up and I've stitched on and of course my fiskars punch which I love at the moment.
So today my Hubby's shed arrives and all the clutter from the other sheds can be put back, out of the house. It's also the last day of his second job that he started twenty years ago to help with the Poll Tax that we had no idea how to pay but now the kids are not a burden on the pocket and he's getting on a bit in years, its time for him to slow down but it does mean I have to be stricter on buying craft stuff. Lets hope I don't have to send him back out work to pay for my addiction.
