Ismaki#20 challenge

The Ismaki #20 challenge was certainly out of my comfort zone, a circle sketch and no patterned paper, so thanks to the challenge on Saturday Workout chalks were still on my mind. So with the little daisy stamp from Blade runner I stamped randomly then using pebbles chalks I chalked in a few colours over the white card stock and then using the chalk pencils highlighted the daisies. The large daisy stamp is from HobbyArt that I masked into a group and again used the pencil chalks. The sentiment is stampin up, DCWV coloured cardstock which I love when you use the cuttlebug embossing folders, rub an emery board lightly over the top shows the white core coming through.

On a forum I go on they have an ATC swop with Magnolia's and here are the three fabulous ones sent back to me. The first one is from Jo (Fairymad)
This little gem is from Fran.
and last but not least Lynn.

The three below are the ones I sent to swop.

Challenges.

This card is using the latest CPS sketch, isn't it great when you see a sketch you know immediately what you want to do. The blossom stamp is stampendous and for Saturday Workout the challenge was to use chalks and hiding in my drawer are some chalk pencils I brought last year when I was in the US which gave the blossoms some delicate colours, once again I've used PSX butterfly on contrasting paper by papermania. There some stampin up words just above the butterfly.
Now onto the Tilda & Co challenge to use beads, so I've used the dinky flowers I made ages ago that have beads has their centres. Paper pieced Tilda's dress with matching Making Memories papers.
Last but not least DCM challenge last Friday was for Animalia, I've used BG papers and bits of leather with a stampendous stamp of Giraffes the sentiment is a rub on, its a bit large cos it has to hide a messy blot.

Ruby Anniversary Post

Congratulations to my Sis and her hubby on their Ruby Anniversary, at this moment they are on board the Oceana visiting the Fjords. BIL has come up trumps by upgrading to a suite which comes with a butler called Andrew! The suite is full of pressies and flowers and I'm green with envy. Anyway back to business the above card is a Ladybug stamp designed by Rachelle Anne Miller as soon as I saw it I had to have it for their Anniversary. BIL has a thing about frogs and this stamp has Mr & Mrs Frog with their three little frogs and so has my Sis has three little frogs too called Louise, Mark and Timothy. This card I made for Mum to give to Sis using Joanne Sheen stamps love the elegance of these stamps .
This is the box that I made for the special project from a few weeks ago, I then had to make a box to put the box in so I could seal it.

I love this mini book and I've made quite a few now, its orginally a class on UKS on their summer Cyber Crop from last year. Hope the link works.

I've been really good no sarcastic remarks like the bridesmaids dresses were LIME GREEN.
Or the fact that if we so much has drop a flower from our baskets we would be for IT
Not too mention how slim everyone looks!

Nor did I mention the fact if you met KC as a 7 year old wouldn't you be scared of him too! Of course I've made up for it since there' nothing like gettin one over your BIL.
I think I did smile in ONE photo!
Ahhhhh don't they look sweet!
If blogger behaves you can see the pics larger if you click on them.

Happy Ruby Anniversary

Busy Post

I started to create the ship for CCT but decided it wasn't cute enough then I saw the Friday Sketcher's sketch and I knew it would work. The ship is an old stamp, first stamped in black and embossed then inked and when the ink was dry I used bleach for the clouds and sails. The papers are doodlebug and sentiment was printed from the PC

Finally I'm up to date with my A-Z, the papers for Inspired are paperloft that have been hidden in my stash. If you click onto the pic it makes it larger or it does if blogger is behaving.
I used the class that Cleo Evans sent me from Scrapcamp the circle is acetate and doodled using glaze pens, no idea of the papers they were again hidden in my stash. The one below has hidden journalling behine the pic.

Look what I've got from Carole aka Stardust Gems and Ribbon isn't it fabulous. Now I've choosen some great Blogs.

And not forgetting the fantastic blog candy Heidi is offering a Hanglar & Stanglar stamp and some great images and all you have to do is to link to her blog, easy peasy, have all my fingers crossed for this candy.

Crafty Saturday

The challenge on Cute Card Thursday is Vacation/Travel, well I've already used the car for travel so I settled on Vacation and the only stamp I could think of using was the Whipper Snapper Pool Shark, not sure the makers of the papers found them in my stash and I've had the ribbon for ages so really please I got to use a bit of it. I've glossy accent he's sunglasses, bubbles and his teeth!
This is for Di Hickman sketch May#2, used BG and stamps away Owl.
And finally catching up with some scrapbooking, this is Shimelles Save the day challenge on UKS, the book is made and each month on the 25th you take loads of photos of your day and the put has many as you can on these two pages. The idea is to use the same format each time so you can make something reasonably quickly yet have a great reminder of your year.

Catch up Friday

I've been catching up with some challenges the first is Tilda & Friends ATC, the challenge was green, I've used a bit of DCWV sparkly card the borders are peel off coloured green with permanent pens.
Now the sketch for CPS 64 shouted to me for the style card, so I knew I was going to make the flower but it left me with a large space and I had no idea what to do with this so I've lost my way a bit.
Didn't think I would have time to do this challenge from Tilda & Co for Black and White so pleased I was able to do it although I don't think it shows up well in the photo but there's quite a bit of sparkle on the dress and the little dragonfly.

Sketch & Travel

There's a new challenge blog called Friday Sketchers and has the title suggests it about sketches, its well know I can't resist so I used it for this card. The theme was inspired by the challenge on Arty Girlz which is for travel/places and I immediately thought of maps and this stamp I brought at the make it show earlier this year. I also used some BG papers and inked the map which was quite bright against the papers. Theres a bit of stamped acetate for the windscreen, the sentiment has been changed since I photo it. It now reads Happy Father's Day.

The latest trend seems to be machine sewing on cards, I blew the dust off Damon my sewing machine I'm sure I heard him laughing.

New Punch

While at MIL we went to The Range and they had the new punches from Do Crafts, I liked the idea of punching circles and ovals but when I saw the Ismaki challenge 19 I thought I would try a square. I'm really pleased how it turned out, I used punched flowers and the gems are coloured with a permanent pen, why is it the colour gems you need are the ones you haven't got. The little ballerina is a whipper snapper and the floral papers are DCWV, also the sentiment is one of Francoise Read Birthday words set.
Its been really nice being able surf the net without the fear of being frozen out and the PC is almost set up how I like it with the help of DS now I need to catch up with my crafting, I'm running late on my A-Z journal and I wanted to do Shimelle's project on UKS which was started at the cyber crop, the book is made just need to sort the photos out. I've also had my arm twisted again for pages to swap at Scrap-a-ganza this time they're 6 by 6 and I need to make 19!

Oops a bit of lemon

Yes I'm really back, the new PC is works brilliantly just getting used to Vista and also trying to use only one program for photo editing.

Finding it hard to get back to cardmaking and it doesn't help if you don't write down the challenge correctly. The papertake weekly is for Luscious lime and lilac so why did I write lilac and lemon, but there is quite a bit of lime as well as lemon so I reckon it will be OK for the challenge. The papers are DCWV the purple one is embossed and the others are glittered.

Happy Birthday Grandma

This lady is amazing, she probably shouldn't be here, suffering some severe problems in the past and now her poor bones are crumpling but she's always on the go. Happy Birthday May.
So for the last few days this is where we've been in Littleborough Lancashire and the scrapbook went down a treat. Even managed to get to Ossie Mills and popped into Dawn Biddy's new studio very snazzy and it was the day after craft day on QVC and there was Dawn putting stock out.
Not much happening here today, I have two cards that must be made and can't be shown until someone is on the ship next Sunday and there's still some things to back up on this PC has the new one arrives tomorrow.

struggling on

Its been decided that I get a new PC, the chances are my memory may be the problem in which case I will only have another problem later. So DS has offered to pay for a new PC for my birthday and christmas so it means struggling with this one till it arrives. Haven't done any challenges so I will leave you with the bookmarks I made for SBS8 sister Kelly.
Oh I mean't to mention why I put 2nd on the Rosette my niece came second in the dressage with her horse Calino with her highest marks so far and she is over the moon, mainly cos she spends most time falling off.

Tragic Tuesday

The challenge on Tilda & Co is to decoupage a magnolia stamp, this is really easy for me, I always 3d Tilda's head or a dress or in this case Tilda with her horse, the horse gets the decoupage treatment. I'm not the best when it comes to cutting out but my little tip for today is to run a pen round the edges, for black stamped images I use a grey pen it hides the white of the cut paper yet not being to harsh to make it stand out and on small areas that need cutting out I use a craft knife on a glass cutting board that you can buy for the kitchen.
I admit defeat the box of plastic and wire has beaten me, all files are backed up and today I ring the man that can to see if he can fix this box of tricks so that I can go online for longer than twenty minutes per day. It takes that long to do a post! So I will apologise now for not getting to everyone blogs but hopefully it will get sorted this week.

Open Theme

I have about twenty minutes till my PC throws me off. I showed DD the card that she could share with her brother and I got the look, so here's another card for Grandma. The papers are Laura Ashley ones from Dovecraft, the stamp is creative stamping. Lots of cutting out and layering, the lace is paper with sticky on the back from K&co.
Now the challenge on Arty Girlz is for an open theme so I think this card will do, their challenge is sponsor by Trimcraft who has a new forum opened.
I'm back at my Sis later having to go out for lunch with one of their friends much rather go to the crop but was outvoted but it will mean I can catch up on some comments.

Cute Card Thursday

So have I fixed the PC nope, I have about twenty minutes before my screen freezes. I can't believe a box of wires and plastic has beaten me and I have to find a man that can! So apologies to everyone I haven't been able to visit. So with the clock ticking here's mine Cute Card Thursday, Penny Black bunnies on some Daisy Bucket paper. This is the back page of MIL book, some BG Lillykate, kept it very simple as the words take over the page. One single LO left to do which is going to be difficult because we don't have a pics of MIL Father but a photo copy of a certificate.

Keeping this entry simple and quick, I may be at Sis later on so I may be able to use her PC.

Friday cards.

I've used Nicola's at My paperworld sketch and High hopes stamps with BG papers from last year (lost the front cover so not sure which range) These stamps were the reason that EZ stuff had to come out again and I may suffer for my art because I've decided talc is worse than glitter it goes up your nose and everywhere, I don't remember having the same problem when it was used on wriggly baby.

The second is for Papertake weekly challenge for elegant embossing. The stamp is from creative stamping, I used a pink pigment ink and embossed with some violet pearlescent powder, the powder is a bit odd cos you can't see the violet if you emboss with versamark but it does make the pink pigment ink pearlescent. As you can see I cut out the butterflies and I used the swiss dots in the cuttlebug and used the lines on my card scorer to make the border.

I'm having huge problems with the my PC but funny enough my DD laptop still works but whats wrong with having a mouse so I'm finding the laptop challenging! So I'm still behind on blog hopping but I've now done something drastic and hopefully the PC is back working.

A couple of questions answered the clouds are a template from years ago and thin grosgrain ribbon must have been a freebie from one of the mags because there isn't much of it, I guess has a crafter we never throw anything away.
Also Enfys has tagged me with 7 things about you, I still thinking it about them but one of them will be I hate PC's.

ATC & CPS

I don't seemed to be able to keep up with the challenges this week, especially has there is quite a few sketches about this week, which I love. I have managed Tilda & Friends ATC May challenge it suppose to be a May pole not sure if its worked out as I hoped but the idea there.
The lovely Fran on her blog mentions some Rachelle Anne Miller stamps at Sir Stampalot and this stamp happened to fall in the basket its a Whipper Snapper stamp and I used CPS#62 sketch, the birthday dreams sentiment is a Penny Black. I now have a large ball tool phew, not because I found it but Sis managed to get one for me, she also had to change my Fairie Poppet because it stamped oddly round the face and looked weird. If you like Fairie Poppets stamps then don't look at the Sugar Nellie blog.
