Oh dear I made this card before I went away for the long weekend to see MIL hope I can remember what I used.
First of the papers are a mixture of Echo Park I love Sunshine and Sunny Days Ahead which shows you can easily mix and match.
This week we are showcasing Penny Black and I thought I would get a clear set I've always been worried the images are too small especially for the way I layer my images but goodness as you can see my the Penny Black Missing You clear set are a really good size and the two other images are equally as good.
I also stamped the toadstools from one of the other images so I could have some toadstools for embellishments.
I used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles for my two circle frames and I also used the Spellbinders circle nestablilities to finish off the frames.
I used the Simon Says Stamp My Heart Soars for the clouds, not forgetting the Simon Says Stamp Wishing die.  To complement the wishing die I've used the stamp set Sending and Wishing from Simon Says Stamp.
Not forgetting the little bit of grass using a die from MFT which is to help hide the join where the yellow dotty paper meet the green pattern along with some white ribbon from my stash.
Right I better schedule my post for 2pm hope I have better luck than the one I schedule for Monday!

So now it's YOUR turn.  Happy Crafting

For Mum

We travel back from MIL today not sure now thats a good idea, four hours in the card dwelling on the fact its Mum's Birthday and the first one she's not here to celebrate. But I did make her card although I did smile when I realised that she would prefer some glitter somewhere, anywhere.

I chose the Sarah Kay image with her tray teapot and cups, she did love offer a cup of tea to whoever knocked on her door and when she couldn't make it any more she'll get my Dad to make it.

The Oval is from Spellbinders and the leaves are Memory Box Fresh Foliage still a favourite with me. The flowers are EK Success punch. My cup/mug is from Simon Says Stamp but the saucer is from MFT teapot stamp and die set.

The sentiment is a Simon Say Stamp set and I had planned to make a fishtail banner but then last minute tried it across the corner and liked it so it stayed.

Happy Birthday Mum

Butterflies

I thought I would actually used the butterflies on this Friendship Butterflies from Simon Says Stamp, I've used the tiny butterfly and the leaf stamp but not the others.
I made the middle mat by edging the sides with the leaf stamp and used second stamping of  splats from Wplus9 Ink splats.
The patterned paper is Echo Park I love Sunshine which just happened to be the perfect colour and the sentiment is from Sending Happy Thoughts again from Simon Says Stamp but I do believe its out of stock but any large sentiment would work.
I couldn't add pearls to the large butterfly because if would go over the words so I leaft the medium one too but there had to be some somewhere so I added a few to the little butterfly.

Congratulations

Its only right when some new Splash of Color dies arrived from Simon Says Stamp that they need to be used to see how they work and give some ideas to how to use them.
So I got my hands on Wavy scalloped stitches borders and with the Less is More challenge for snippets I raided my scrap bag of matching colours and cut out strips using the lighter one for the smaller scallop and so on.
Of course then it failed to be LIM because I decided to use the leaf stamp from Simon Say Stamp Friendship Butterflies stamp set with Versamark because I wasn't sure if I had all the inkpads to match the cardstock.
To finish I made a Stitched frame with Simon Says Stamp stitched rectangles and finally the new Simon says Stamp Congratulations which I layered three times and all the time I was cutting and fiddlying with double sided tape my brain was saying funky foam, funky foam which I would only have to cut once!

Dream

Ok I know this is a fairly quick card but once I found the plane paper there was no need for any embellishments. I used the MFT Fence and Grass die to make the little chap is on grass. The reason the bit of grass by his feet look like it about to fall off, I'm in to minds to keep it on.
Of course my little chap is from Mo's Shop he is called Dream isn't he cute. I know he's not a new one but I couldn't believe he wasn't in my collection. I think he is a stamp too but not sure if he is a Penny Black cling or another firm.
But have you seen this fabulous image called Airplane and you still have time to use the 20% off, in fact you have all of today.
Fingers crossed I get to make a card but we going up MIL tonight instead of early hours of Sunday morning to see if my body copes better this way, you can but try and see.

Froggy

Once again I find myself without any cards in my drafts and only this fella is left. I made him for a friend who sent a gift for going to her Stampin Up party and I know she loves frogs.

First of all I found it tricky to find a nice frog pattern even brought ones, I'm not sure where this pattern came from you but I did actually buy it on etsy.

I love his eyes but I wonder if they are too far back in his head and love his web feet so he was a great learning curve.

Mmmm why did I photo him like this. Even with all his faults his new owner loves him. My next job apart from crocheting more granny squares for my current blanket but I have the need for a minion.
Its Ok I do have a card for tomorrow it needs photo-ing.

Life's a Beach

When I saw this weeks challenge on Less is More Life's a Beach I knew I would be able to use my Taylor Expression Sandcastle die but first I had to make a beach for it.
The sand is in fact sand paper although it wasn't keen on the Stitched Rectangles from Simon Says Stamp.
The papers are a bit of Doodlebug and American Crafts and I had use the Stitched die on all of them to them cut them to make the scene and matching frame.
My little sun was a perfect size from the My Sunshine stamps and die again from Simon Says Stamps.
I cut the sandcastle in red and cut the flags off to stick on my sand castle. The sentiment is again from Simon they're on my desk so in easy reach but the set is call Happy and Smile.
I hope it clean enough for the LIM team.

50dollar_voucher_600px

I was having a bit of panic when I realised I had brought the shiny blue sequins from Pretty Pink Sequins and had planned a shaker card and I only had made one a couple of weeks ago for the another Simon Say Stamp Challenge.
I couldn't get my head my head past a shaker card so to help with originality I made one using Spellbinder Star nestablilities including the frame. I used the Simon Say Stamps Stitched Squares although for the round the square and contrasting mat.
The papers which I put behind the star are Echo Park I love Sunshine and to make my star and heart cluster I again used the Star dies from Spellbinder and Simon Say Stamp small Doily Dies.
I also used the Welcome and Boy from Simon Says Stamp Baby set and the Baby word die.
The cute little cuddly animals are from a Simon Say Stamp Baby Party Animals stamp set although I don't have the dies but they are fairly easy to fussy cut but if you want a white border I suggest you buy the dies too.
I apologise for the wonky card the fishtail banner is straight (check out the clouds) obviously my bad photography skills show up more on this card.

So now it's YOUR turn.  Happy Crafting

Embossing Bella

If you remember my last card for Everybody Art Challenge you will know it had embossing on it, that was because I thought embossing week was last week but has you can see the new challenge of embossing is this week.
So I decided to use another favourite embossing folder this week Tim Holtz Bricked, I cut out the brick work down one side but cut the other side to fit my card. The daisy paper is from Echo Park and I added some grass using MFT grass die.
The sentiment which was layered twice is a Penny Black die and my flowers are Upsy Daisy from MFT.
Of course my image is a Stamping Bella and I fussy cut her out, with the finishing touch of glossy accents on her sunnies.
Do pop over and check out the team also I hope you can join us this week. Everybody Art Challenge is taking a bit of a break over summer but we will be back on the 8th September.

Sleeping Cat

Oh dear my drafts are now empty again! This is my last card ready to post, I do have two to photograph for DT challenges this week, fingers crossed I get time in my craftroom this week. Remember my Shaking Kittens card well here's the other kitten I coloured but this time its a bit of a busier card although that is just using the pattened paper.
So first my paper is Echo Park, not sure on the sketch but its definitely one from a few weeks ago. My Kitten you know is a Newton Nook Newton's Antics. My grass is MFT die and the flowers are a Elizabeth Crafts die.
All finished with my Simon Says Stamp Wishing die which has been layered twice and the sentiment from Sending and Wishing stamp set.
Well its a doctors and a hospital appointment today and we want to try the new card on a long run before we go and visit MIL so tomorrow its on the agenda for a trip to West Quays in Southampton which just so happens to have an IKEA!

Sail Away

Sorry no Penny Black card today only a bit of an experiment using the Freshly Made Sketch for this week. I replaced the circles on the sketch with my sun and clouds.
I so wanted to add the cute boat die from Simon Say Stamp July Card Kit so I did. The waves and and sentiment were all stamped with white pigment ink and WOW bright white embossing powder.
Luckily you can buy the die and stamp set separately or you buy the new boat and stamp set with the new Splash of Colour release.

Boo with Tulips

Last week when Mo updated her shop with some new images with the special offer I glimpse at the adorable cat with the yellow flowers and I told my friend they were daffodils as you can see they are tulips worse than that the image is called Boo with Tulips!
Now I'm not that good at colouring cats unless they're mouse colours but I thought maybe I could manage this little cutie and I quite please how Boo turned out. The vase was never going to be coloured because it shouted paper pieced me which is typical since the new PC is still not connected to the printer (today's challenge)
The tulips are quite easy to colour and I matched the papers I had chosen. Once again I tried to stamp once I finished the panel and sticky fixed it to the card so I had to add a fishtail banner to hide some rubbish stamping of the sentiment.
A butterfly to finish with my favourite and cheapest punch I every brought from Kars, oh and the paper is probably Echo Park.

Blog Hop

There's me telling everyone to get ready for the Mo's Dream Team Blog Hop and who hasn't done her post er me.
So our theme this month is from Vili and since makes our wonderful Blog Hop Banners its no wonder she chose a photo theme. I chosen not only the colours but also the drinking by choosing Mo's Party Girl.
My papers are Echo Park though I can't find out which ones because I ran out of paper and wanted more and couldn't find what I use.
I paper pieced her dress which was a bit of pain because all my images are on a external storage which is now connected to the new computer which itself isn't connected to the printer. As you can see I did managed it in the end.
Now you should have arrived from my good friend Julie and now you need to Hop, Skip and Jump over to Lou. If you get lost pop over to the Dream Team where the full Blog Hop run is shown.
Don't forget to comment along the way for a chance of winning one of the two $5 vouchers to spend in Mo's store.

Get in Shape

wed-newchallenge-header

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge
Thank you for joining us for the Furry Friends Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too.
We will be back soon with the name of the lucky winner of the $50 Voucher
This week the challenge is

GET IN SHAPE

We don't mean start a diet and exercise regime, haha, nothing as drastic as that we are just asking for no square or rectangle cards this week!
We are showcasing  LAWN FAWN PRODUCTS this week. You don't have to use them to join in but if you have some we would love to see them used
As always Simon Says Stamp will be giving away $50 voucher to shop at the fabulous Simon Says Stamp Store
50dollar_voucher_600px

It was by luck I saw this style of card on someone's blog and I knew I was going to use it for this challenge. First of all I had to track down my largest scallop die which was a Lifestyle die and the matching circle dies, the size of the largest die is 5.5 inches.
I cut the stripy paper out of the July's Kit and the border with the circle die and folded the scallop and circles in half. A little tip here you need to fold the scallops so that there are two scallops for the bottom otherwise it leans!
I use more scallops and circles for the borders for the main mat and to make my sea I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Borders in various blue and a the smallest one I used white. I put the strips together on a piece of card then closed my eyes while I run it through the Big Shot using Simon Says Stamp Stitched circle it was quite thick.
Now I had to add my little boat using the die from the Simon Say Stamp July's kit you can get it separately here. My sun is La La Land die but I cut two and hand cut the middle out to place in the centre of the sun, my clouds are from Simon Say Stamps My Heart Soars dies.
Now the only bit of stamping I did for the whole card, I used the Lawn Fawn Float my Boat for my anchor and I used the die that went with the stamp set. Finally my Birthday sentiment came from Happy and Smile stamp set from Simon Says Stamp.
Phew that was a bit long winded hope it makes sense, I hope the colours are OK too because I used the new computer and everything is a bit yellow on my screen.

So now it's YOUR turn.  Happy Crafting

Balloon Bear

Time for a new challenge over Everybody Art Challenge only its not the challenge I thought it was. This week its a recipe of 3 papers and embellishments.
I think I may have just managed it with the card I made for the next week!!!!!
Yes there are three papers, stripy, dotty and the one with the hearts on but embellishments well I do have five clouds!
I was actually please how he turned out and I haven't used my Swiss Dots embossing folder for ages and it worked a treat. My little bear is LOTV and has you can see I paper pieced the balloons. Small scallop die for the edges and the sentiment is from stamps and die from Simon says Stamp.
Oh the clouds are are from Simon Says Stamp too.
Do pop over and check out the team and hope you can join us this week.
I've managed to move my external hard drive to the new computer and added my Photoshop Elements it doesn't like the monitor or at least thats what it keeps telling me and I added i tunes somehow it managed to load four of everything so had to sort that out.  Did cause a problem yesterday afternoon I wanted to paper pieced a digi image and my external hard drive was on the new computer and my printer is still connected to the old one.

Warm Hugs

This image has been stuck in my coloured images for a while but I was looking at some Christmas Sentiments and I knew I had to use this one, it did make me smile.
Still on my CAS style at the moment not sure who made the papers, it could be doodlebug since I found some yesterday when I was tidy up but I added the Mistletoe from a Penny Black die but I did have to cut it up to suit my card.
Love the flowersoft and funflock mixture looks great especially on her collar really sets it off.
The image is called Little Present and if you pop over to Mo's shop you will discover 20% off at the moment along with some new images.
Didn't have a successful crop stuck paper and put paper in pocket pages but I was really tired and when I came home managed to stay awake for a couple of hours then went to bed. Yesterday I was allowed to put my crop stuff away but was banned from the craftroom and to rest. I did managed to convince Hubby I had to set up the new PC which is now running but now I need to transfer some software and files.
Today though I have cards to make don't like letting Design Teams down even if I have to go down the CAS route.

Penny Black Dies

I love this wrought iron gate die from Penny Black the sides when you cut it out stay attached so you can make a hinge but this time I cut it off. I also added another layer which was very fiddly.
Then the card got left because I didn't know what to do even now I'm not sure it all works. I used the Penny Black flourish die and added the Prima Flower with the large pearl brad.
I just so happened I had brought the Simon Says Stamp Butterfly Friends and I took the smaller butterfly stamp and stamped and embossed with WOW white embossing powder and then cut using the matching dies. You can just about see it but it looks much better in RL.
Well my bags are packed and I have some idea of what I scrapbooking fingers crossed I get some done.
