Delicate Sugar Nellie

Sometimes you make a card and think it's OK but sometimes you make a card and it works beyond your expectation and thats the case with this one. Have to say the camera hasn't done it any favours and washed out some of the delicate colours. I made this for the Bling challenge on Cute Card Thursday, I was going to be cheeky and just have the gem on the envelope and her necklace but I felt it need something in the corner and three little matching gems were ideal. I used BG Wisteria, no surprise there and I've used Nessy's sketch on Just Christmas and Birthday Cards.
I love my grown up kids but gosh when they in the house its like a hurricane and all my plans to have crafty day was hindered and of course in the evening it was Britain's Got Talent and I believe the British Public got it right Diversity was absolutely brilliant, the whole programme was wonderful not sure the variety show can ever be as good.

Bloom and Grow

I can see a pattern happening here with all these red themed cards and today's is no exception. I used the Bloom and Grow download from Zoe Pearn at Sweet Shoppe Designs, love that I can print them when I want them. The sketch is from Kathy for the Sugar Bowl and for the challenge you have to incorporate pearls, so I think the pearl buckle covers that in fact its very lacking with flowers etc but sometimes the papers and image speak for themselves.
Not much happening here Sis and her hubby go on their cruise today, their first stop is Falmouth!
A word of warning we are thinking of having a BBQ tomorrow and even though the weathermen say is going to be Hot and Sunny as soon as the barbie is lit it will rain.

High Hopes on Friday

There's a brilliant sketch on Tracy's DietoDiefor blog and there's a great prize of the Rain and Shine Miss Anya girls, the sketch is from Dawn who sketches for Papertake Weekly but I made it more difficult by deciding to use very busy paper and on a man's card too. It looks a bit plain without loads of flowers etc but my Dad will be happy with it. The tractor is High Hopes and I've 3d some of it, I was asked how I 3d whether I used sticky pads or glue, I first emboss the back of all the 3d elements, so they don't look flat and I use silcone glue so that I can alter the height. Papers are BG cupcake and yes I know that sentiment is Simon Says Stamps but I love how it fits inside the punches.
I love the sketch on CPS 117 but I couldn't get anything to work, so used the sentiment I wanted to use and worked backwards till I was happy. I made the flat bow so it would fit in the small slot for normal post. The papers are scraps of Daisy Bucket so I can enter it into the Papertake Weekly challenge.
There's some fabulous blog candy arounded at the moment, here's a couple, one from Sue

Another from Nikki

Bea's sketch

I was having a hard job yesterday to get motivated to actually make a card not sure why so first I made a couple of simple cards. One of them is the one below I used BG Wisteria and 2 sketches 4 you sketch for this week but I couldn't cover the paper so just made a frame and used a butterfly for one of the circles. The sentiment is Simon Says Stamps again I'm sorry but they're on my desk and they are a perfect size for cards. Then I decided to use Bea's fabulous sketch on her blog at the moment, this time I couldn't find a contrasting paper I liked so again used a frame for the mat which I now realise she be bigger. The papers are K&Company, sentiment again Simon Says Stamps with the Stampin up oval punches, punched flowers and I threaded ribbon in the lace so I could use the card for the challenge on A Spoonful of Sugar. I could be cheeky and say this card is for Everybody Art too because the challenge is for 3d but most of my cards are 3d so it wouldn't be a challenge!

Simon Says Trio of Cards

There's a new challenge on Simon Says Challenge this time its for animals and I'm using the new stamps that were recently sent to me. The papers are K& Company and the sentiment dare I say it but are peel offs. I you want to join in its not necessary to have Simon Says Stamps we welcome any makes.
Its a coincidence that the other cards are both Simon Says Stamps, the one above was for Sketch and Stash, the deers were sitting on my desk waiting to made into a card and I thought they would work for this sketch. The papers are Chatterbox, corners are a Quickutz die and the sentiment is another Simon Says Stamps.
When I opened my DT package and these stamps were in it and it did make me chuckle that you could work out the whole family and I so wanted to use them all in one go. I had to make a large card to fit them all on. The papers are BG Wisteria and I highlighter their clothes with some gel pens.
I downloaded firefox yesterday after yet again I kept getting operation aborted and closing the page down. Thanks Kelly for letting me know that you had downloaded it too, it made it easier for me to take a chance. I still have IE on the PC if I wanted to go back to it and the jargon on firefox it slightly different for instance favourites-bookmarks but I didn't get an aborted message all day yesterday.
It will be a evening of crafting tonight the telly has been booked by Hubby for the football.

Tilda Tuesday

Time is flying but I still managed to make a card for today, there's a fabulous sketch from Nikki on Stamp with Fun, add this cute Tilda with some Bo Bunny papers and you can't go far wrong. A friend had a stampin up catalogue and I ordered the oval punches and stamps, I'm hoping the punches will work with other sentiment stamps.

Short and sweet post lots to do today including tidy my craft room it in such a mess I can't find it!!!!!!!!

Penny Black Christmas!

Did you think I forgotten what day it is, yes its the 25th of the month and another Christmas card. I can almost colour these PB mice with my eyes shut and this little mouse is going to help build up my stock of Christmas cards. Now it just happens that Penny Black Saturday challenge is for buttons and I've incorporated buttons so it would work for the challenge. The snowflakes are cut from glitter card although you couldn't tell by the photo and when keeping stickles upside down remember it probably will come out quicker than you're expecting. The papers are doodlebug.

I'm totally disorganised at the moment, I think that's because it a long weekend and have two extra people under foot, back to normal tomorrow.

Sweet Sunday

Had a fab day at MJ all day crop, still need to finish the Layouts I started, looks like I'm back at my Sis today, the boys (hubbies) are working today, so will take my pencils to colour some images in. I still have the new Summer kit from WOJ to colour I've managed to colour this little lad and use him for Friday Sketchers, I've made him into a Father's card another off my list. The papers are K & Company and my nestabilities have been busy with this card.

Short post today, need to sort out my stuff from yesterday and then repack with the stuff I need today.

Tilda for the weekend

I really love these K & co papers they are double sided and I love the vibrant colours perfect for Tilda. The challenge on Just Magnolia is for a card other than a square one technically the width and height measurements are for a square card so this will fit in the normal square envelopes I have. I wanted her legs to dangle over the edge a bit. There's some stickles on the wings of the bee and I've chopped of his antenna thingies, too difficult to cut so used some wire to replace them. The sentiment is again Simon Says Stamps is on hand on my desk so its my first point of call when I need a sentiment.
I'm scheduling this post so fingers cross this works but Mr Blogger has been really bad the last couple of days and I keep getting messages that the webpage can't open and the operation is beeing aborted. If I knew how to move all my achive posts I would do so but I'm afraid that beyond my capabilities.

Why one when you can have two

Yes it another Annie card and I've used BG Wisteria again couldn't help myself, love using both at the moment. While I was colouring this Annie I knew she would work really well with the Mojo Monday sketch. The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamps clear set they don't leave my desk cos they so useful and this one fits the woodware yellow 1 1/2 punch.

It is possible that while ordering Annie some K&Co papers fell into the basket too, they are the 8 by 8 pads and they are fab, the service was pretty brilliant too, they came the next day. I've used the sketch on Cupcake Craft challenge.

Its looking good weatherwise for the weekend I'm not convinced, it is a bank holiday weekend after all but I don't need good weather for Saturday off to MJ all day crop (she is having free P&P this weekend) so there is a possibility some more stash buying and FairyKaren is bringing my Stampin up order. DS is trying convince us we need to do a BBQ on Sunday in which case it will definitely rain so we will wait and see.

Papertake Weekly Annie

I wasn't quite sure whether to buy these Annie stamps from Charmed Cards and Crafts but I'm so glad I did, first of all the clear stamp, stamps straight away I have few clear stamps that I have to try and break down the stickyness so I can stamp a clean image, two they are a good size for instance this card is 14.5cm square and third they are so easy colour. She is so cute, add my fave paper Bloom and Grow from MME and fabulous sketch from Dawny on Papertake Weekly, the result is card I really like.

I'm so no good at shabby chic or collage type cards this one just proves it but it ticks all the boxes my mum loves in a card and it will work for the challenge for Stamp With Fun. The papers are Papermania, I 've used my new apron border punch and the heart is cut out on the cricut.
I was shocked yesterday I rang the doctors for an appointment it wasn't urgent or anything just routine and they offer me one this afternoon well of course I took it.

Owl Anniversary

These cute owls stamps are dream2stamp and I love paper piecing them, the branch is from the template from Craftwork card but the leaves are from the same owls stamp. I've used BG Wisteria again, sorry but I love those papers. This card will work brilliantly for A Spoonful of Sugar challenge to make a celebration card and congratulations to the team at Spoonful too who celebrate their 1st Birthday.

This sketch is the fabulous one that Iris set for us at Simon Says Challenge blog, just thought you might like to see it.

Wednesday Challenge

I kept thinking yesterday was Wednesday and I only knew it wasn't because this weeks challenge on Simon Says Challenge wasn't up. Yes we going to be a weekly one from now on. Now as part of Design Team I think it only fair to check whats in Heidi's shop to make my card but you don't have too although she has masses of stuff. I was really pleased that she had these Magnolia's, the Tilda with the petticoats was one of first magnolia stamps I brought ever. The challenge this week is a brilliant sketch from Iris. I think the papers are Pebbles and the dollie looking circle is a punch. Looking forward to checking out what everyone else has done.

Spyder sent me award and it was around the time that life had gone a bit pear shape so I'm pretty certain it got missed so thank you Spyder, she makes fab shaker cards and I mean fab too.

Smile its a Penny Black Cat

There's a recipe over on Penny Black Saturday challenge, so I decided to use this little clear stamp. Wasn't certain whether the embossed card was classed as patterned paper so I used some for the leaves. The paper is BG Wisteria and the sentiment is Simon Says Stamps. Talking of which have you seen Simon Says Stamps blog, Heidi is asking for cards using the Chasing Butterflies collection to showcase the stamps just arrived in her shop and she is giving away $100 in a random draw, check it out here.

I'm very lucky that my work has Breast screening in place for Women from aged 40 years which is a lot lower than the normal NHS, its not very pleasant but it doesn't hurt and does give peace of mind not sure if I would class it as day out though.

Simply the Best

Well it started with Sketch Saturdays sketch because I wanted a man's card, ideal for Father's day, I knew I didn't really want flowers and I was wondering how I could use the sentiment from Simon Says Stamps when I remember Cute Card Thursday was to use letters or numbers so thats how I decided to use the chipboard letters. I love the sentiment, beware I can see it being used loads of times. This is my last coloured image from last weekend and next time I'm going to write on the card which cardstock it was to match, it took me a while to realise it BG Mareekech.

My blog is a record or a diary of sorts of what I do which I think lately I've forgotten so you may find stuff on here you might not be interested, one being my Cross-Stitch. I'm making the Indian Maiden from Joan Elliott's Native American Cross Stitch, there is also a Indian Warrior which I plan to do too. This is has far as I got so far.
That's all folks for today.

Sugar Nellie Sunday

I think these new Country Cousins stamps from Sugar Nellie are going to be new favourites for me they are so fab. The sketch is from Friday Sketchers, I did have a problem though, I didn't like the two circles so I hope the slight adaptation is allowed. The pretty papers are Bo Bunny, pretty sure they're not going to last long.

At last my CJ is now completed, I loved making the book but doing my entry wasn't quite as easy or how I planned, another DT card is ready but I need to do a few more so that I can get ahead of myself and not leave it to last minute and I've added another card on my list to do.
I also received a fabulous parcel from Simon Says Stamps with some lovely Tim Holtz things as well as new stamps.

DD popped into town yesterday and I asked her to see WHS had scrapbook trends which is fab mag/book that is now being published over here, she rang to check if it was scrapbooking or Card Trends, well I was on cloud nine to think they had the card one too unfortunately they not cheap and I had to hand over quite of craft money to pay for them.

Saturday's Magnolias

I not getting very far with my list of things to do especially when I check out some of my fave challenges and I'm more motivated to do them than my list. At last I've made the two Anniversary cards, the problem one was for my Mum to send it has to tick certain boxes and she doesn't really understand cute cards she thinks they're children cards. So now these two were done I felt I could do at least one challenge and because I coloured these two last weekend, I decided to use them with new DCWV latte pack which I brought at The Range and use the fab sketch over on Just Magnolia.

Look what Ilonka has sent me isn't it cute.

Its not that far away to Father's day and its also my Dad's birthday which means I've a lot of Men's card to make so I hoping for lots of inspiration on the Simon Says Challenge which is for a boy or man's card, you can also win the fabulous CD from Bearly Mine Designs too.

Penny Black Friday

There is a fab challenge on Penny Black Saturday, using black and white with another colour of your choice, which gave me an opportunity to use this PB stamp which I brought at the Glitter Pot after seeing a gorgeous card there. I used my Prismacolor pencils and the pattern paper are Daisy Bucket, I had planned to use the different papers in the series but it would mean I would be hiding the fabulous swirls on the paper and I just couldn't do it. I've used accent beads for the centres, they came in a tub and did I make a mess, the other colours I have are in little bags and I hardly make any mess with them.

Many thanks to Shirley aka Nannieflash for the fab award, gosh there's so many blogs that inspire not sure I can choose just a few.

Its looking like a weekend at home so fingers crossed I can get some serious crafting done, I have a list and its only getting longer.

Ribbon and Bows

This is an PB image that I coloured at the weekend with the thought to use it for a new home card but didn't use but the challenge Papertake Weekly is for an animal card and this was waiting to be used. The image is quite large and Sketch and Stash challenge 10 is a perfect sketch for it and I used papermania Blueberry Hill papers again, since it matches the chintz curtains.
Edwin is another image already to be made into a card but this one didn't work out as planned, the papers are from Garden Party from DCWV and I wanted to use the fabulous rose but it overtook the card, next time I'll buy the small pack instead of the 8 by 8. Then I thought I could use the card for a Spoonful of Sugar and use a button on the bow like I saw on Dawn's blog but it worked for Dawn looked wrong when I did it, so I settled with the heart button in the corner.

I've a long list of things to be done and I struggling to get them done wish they were all easy like the cards above.
