Skipping Santa
Has September creeps nearer tomorrow even I starting to think about Christmas card, I think the Mo's Snowy House will be a firm favourite and it works brilliantly (well I think so) with Skipping Santa.
I found a scrap of dotty blue patterned paper and used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangle and added a red mat to help it stand out.
I very carefully tried to cut the Santa leaving a white border round him for a base image so I could layer on top. There were a few slip ups but I think I got away with it.
Added a bit of gold on his belt and tassels using a gold pen and rather than use my flower soft and fun flock mixture I decided to use glitter and promptly carried on wearing it for the rest of day.
Lastly my favourite Christmas sentiment from Simon says Stamp especially with a santa image.

Anything Goes
This week we are showcasing Hero Arts Products. You don't have to use them for the challenge but if you have them we would love to see them used.
As always Simon Says Stamp will be giving away a $50 voucher to shop at the fabulous Simon Says Stamp Store
The moment I saw this Hero Arts Thorn Tree and Grass die I knew I wanted it, thinking it would be a perfect addition for Scrapbooking just need the right photo. But in the mean time a CAS card to show it off.
I cut the tree twice once in brown and once in green, I carefully cut the branches off the green piece and then llayered it over the brown tree. I used Stick it foam squares cut to the size I wanted to give dimension but I stuck the two end to the brown card, I then overlapped the tree on the side of the card.
The sentiments I used is the Simon Says Stamp Seeing Stars to finish.
Are you getting excited for Stamptember which is only a couple of days away, I know I am.

Puddle Fun
When you have a fabulous pics of your gt nephew it was only right to make a scrapbook page with them.
The paper are Echo Park but I've a couple boy paper collection that the scraps are altogether since they are similar colours. Again the stickers are from their collection. I get to use the Tim Holtz Sixxiz splat die.
The stitched letters I think could be probably American Craft.
Yesterday my daughter and I went shopping, half the flat lights brought and Sofa ordered in one of the shops I didn't expect to go in. You would think Oak Furniture was all about wood furniture but there was a nice selection of sofas too. She managed to get a huge free clock no idea where that will fit. Again the carpet shop wasn't the one I thought we would get them from and a chap is coming tomorrow to measure up for us.

Crochet Update
I thought it was time for a quick crochet update and took some photos with my phone, but it seems to alter the colours of this ball of Scheepjes Whirl Lavenderlicious. Not sure how far I can go so I'm guessing some unpicking will involved to make sure I have enough for a border.
The pattern is Lost in Time which is a free pattern on Raverlry, found it a bit tricky to start and I'm pretty sure there is a bit a mistake at the beginning but once you get into it, its fine.
I wanted the dark purple at the end so I haven't started at the centre of the cake which you are expected to work from. I've also used a smaller crochet hook because my crocheting looks better but could make the shawl smaller but we will see.
Thankfully my last baby blanket is done and I made a comforter in the same colours but I'm not showing it since I know the person is on FB and posts make its way over there so just in case here' a sneak peek.
There is to be a Baby Shower and I've been given my homework, my daughter has hers too.
Lastly I've had my wool order from Wool Warehouse, love that it comes with a net bag that I can put my finished items in. Looks much nicer when they are given in the bag.
I've decided to do a masculine blanket I thought Ross Poldark by Catherine Bligh but will probably do the same as the Demelza and omit the stripes.

Cheek to Cheek
I've been asked to make a Golden Wedding card, I've already made a traditional one but I thought I would use an actual image card and thought Mo Mannings Cheek to Cheek would work.
The papers are Penny Black and of course thats my all time favourite Floral Oval from Spellbinders.
Flowers are Upsey Daisy from MFT and I think it their leaves too. The numbers are Simon Says Stamp die and I computer generated the Golden Years and used two very old Stampin Up punches.
The ribbon was in my stash and the embossing folder is the one I used for the Wedding Stationery I posted last week along with the Stitched Scallop border die from Lawn Fawn.
Originally I was just going to colour her dress but decided that I'll paper piece it instead. As I sit here I see a mistake and hopefully no one will noticed because I've just looked at the card and it well and truly stuck down.

Back To School
This week we are showcasing Avery Elle Products. You don't have to use them for the challenge but if you have them we would love to see them used.
As always Simon Says Stamp will be giving away a $50 voucher to shop at the fabulous Simon Says Stamp Store
The problem of making cards in advance is remembering what I used so fingers crossed that I remember everything.
I wanted to buy something from Avery Elle that would never go out of date and would work for card making and scrapbooking and for that reason I decided to buy Letter Balloons, I also have the Number balloons so the two will complement each other. They work brilliantly with scraps of card. I added a bit of sticky tape behind the holes at the top of each letter and again using scraps of white card cut the letters again and placed them in the holes.
The balloons stand out amongst the black card and it was only right to used the Simon Says Stamp Thank you Teacher stamp set in keeping with the back school challenge. I stamped with Versamark and used Bright White Opaque from WOW.
My twine is Doodlebug Beetle Black and the sentiment is Impression Obsession die, which I have moved several time and not helped my the dodgy photographer.

Bird World
Not the best photos but it was the last time my MIL came down to visit, after this her health took a turn for the worse and she has now passed away. So I thought these photos were important to scrapbook.
Some Graphic 45 papers and some feather dies to bring the mix match colours together. My flying birds I think they are the Poppy stamps dies they are larger than the flying gulls of memory box.
Maybe not the best page I've done but glad that I did use the photos.

Wedding Stationery
First of all a bit of a warning there are a lot of pictures.
So here is the wedding stationery that I was involved in along with my Sister, the Bride and her Mum, plus anyone who had to help with the homework.
The Wedding flavour box was made with Stamping Up dies and I wasn't involved in drinking any of the bottles for the corks!
We made the covers for the Order of Service I used the Cuttlebug heart embossing folder and had to use the folder twice. The scallop heart border is Lawn Fawn and the heart is a Spellbinder die.
The ribbon is from a very nice man in Hong Kong and the Heart ribbon slider supplied by the bride.
The Bride was in charge of printing the rest and attaching them with a long arm stapler.
It wasn't without a bit of drama of previous day of her Wedding the chap in charge of the music rang the bride to say the service had the wrong version of a hymn and last minute printing a remaking of the Order of Service.
I knew the Bride had an idea of what she wanted for her invites and I seriously tried to change it. She wanted best way to describe as flip book. As you lifted the front page the different pages were titled at the bottom at different lengths.
So first I had to make a spine with folds and this time the Bride Mother was with us and once the spine was made I had her place some red double sided tape on all the sides. She took them home to finish and never wants to see a piece of red tape ever.
We made the cover using a similar version of the Order of Service. I was left making the scallop caps for my homework. The Bride then printed all the pages on the matching card and assembled everything together. We even had a perforated one to send back as a RSVP.
The table names all done similar to rest of the stationery and we backed it so the nice linen look card was on the back.
The name places were done all like save the date and it was the Groom's job to cut the corks.
The table plan was was placed on a mirror not the easiest thing to photo. My Cuttlebug folder certainly earned its keep and I still remember when I mislaid it the day before the Bride was coming to my house to use it. It's retired and you can't buy it and all the other folders are not the same.
Here's the table all ready.
There was lots of little touches.
And the Bride and Groom were very naughty here are my beautifully flowers and I have a gift token. I was more than happy to be a part of making my niece's wedding day how she wanted it.

Flower Girl
Isn't this a gorgeous image from Mo Manning called For the Flower Girl its lovely to colour and layer too.
I think the papers are some freebies scrapbook paper that I decided would work for cards better unfortunately there is no name with them.
I've used the fabulous sketch on Mo's Little Challenges on Facebook, had to use it since I love sketches.
For my strip I used a Marianne Butterfly border die with a bit of ribbon and my other butterflies are a Memory Box die. The sentiment is a Whiff of Joy stamp who are now no more but so pleased I still have some of their stamps. The scallop frames are from MFT.

Add A Sentiment
This week we are showcasing Impression Obsession Products. You don't have to use them for the challenge but if you have them we would love to see them used.
As always Simon Says Stamp will be giving away a $50 voucher to shop at the fabulous Simon Says Stamp Store
Now for this challenge I thought it was important to use a decent size stamp but in my mind was another card so I made two.
So the first one is using the fabulous sentiment from Thank you Teacher Simon Says Stamp set , now the reason I used Simon's sentiment rather than one of the fab ones from Impression Obsession is because I wanted this fabulous Puffin (he looks a bit of a seagull to me) called Blue Foot. I brought the one with sentiments but you can buy him on his own but that one is sold out at the moment.
My flying gulls are by Memory Box which are a great finishing touch. I'm trying to work out the patterned paper I think it could Summertime from Penny Black.
Here is the card in my mind using Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles to make a porthole, I added some strips of scrap card to run across the card to make it look like the outside of a ship. Need some more Oxide colours to make my sea and sky.
The little dots are using a cog die from Tim Holtz Gearhead dies one of the loose dies have little dots inside of it and it works a treat to make dots. The little ship is a Simon Says Stamp die called Sailboat.
I added the puffin, links are above and now to work out what stamp set I used, its OK I worked it out it was Thankful Heart amongst the large sentiments there are some little ones.

Lots of Love
Since I'm scheduling my post for the next few days because I'm at a Wedding and staying at the hotel where the reception is being held, I thought I might as well add another schedule post.
It's a very CAS card, in fact I cut the Tim Holtz swirl and backed and then hadn't a clue what to do with it so its been on my desk for a few months. When I gave my son a baby blanket for one of his friends he wanted me to add a card to it. So I quickly added the Penny Black word die in the matching colour.
Not my best work but at least it didn't go to waste and I got a thank you card from the couple in the post which was lovely.
The small baby is getting married today, funny enough the toddler got married exactly one month ago.

Evening at Grandma's
While at the Scrap Cafe crop a few weeks ago a friend there was using a sketch and both myself and my sister used it. This is my attempt helped out with my new star die from MFT.
The papers are some ones but the matched the little chaps shirt perfectly. The tags are Simon says Stamp and the stickers came with the paper pack.
I recently kitted my 2015 photos, I think I'm going to have to up my game it was a busy year still haven't printed a Wedding and a Big Birthday Bash.

get well
I needed a Get Well card for a man and I was totally stuck to think of something. In the end I made my own plasters (see the card below) I was so disappointed with the end result that as soon as my craft money could afford it I brought the MFT plasters.
I made another card but the photographer couldn't photo it right and then I kept forgetting to do it. I finally photo a card that pleased more a bit more. Aren't the dies brilliant.
I'm gutted that where I swim on Friday morning is closed for repairs so no swimming for a few weeks but I plan to sort out my 2015 photos and make some kits up. There is a crop next week and at the end of September its the retreat.

On My Shoulders
It was one of my brother's Birthday this week and I know he dotes on his Grandchildren so I thought this fabulous image from Mo Manning called Shoulders Boy S would work.
The papers are Echo Park not sure on the name of them now but I don't think it recent. I just so happened to have a left over cog corner from Tim Holtz cogs dies so I thought I would use it them I felt it needed some on the right top corner so I cut another one anyway. This was was chopped up a bit to suit my card.
I cut some extra single ones to randomly place, I discovered that some of the dies cut perfect little circles that look like faux brads so I decided to use them. They were a bit fiddly to stick more glue on my fingers sometimes. The sentiment it my favourite one that sits on my desk and I cut the letters out of a die, I think they are Memory Box ones.

For a Child
Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge
Thank you for joining us for the Splatter It Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too.
This week the challenge is
For A Child
This week we are showcasing Neat and Tangled Products. You don't have to use them for the challenge but if you have them we would love to see them used.
As always Simon Says Stamp will be giving away a $50 voucher to shop at the fabulous Simon Says Stamp Store
I need to work out what I used for this cute card first of all I've used Neat and Tangled Prehistoric Clear Stamp Set, I didn't buy the die set simply because very often I end up fussy cutting anyway. There was moments when I thought I was pushing my luck with cutting out the children but I used a Tim Holtz Pumice Stone Distress pen round the edges to hide my mistakes.
Yes I did use Oxides to make my scene behind them using Broken China and Cracked Pistachio and Simon Says Stamp Clouds die. I cut out three clouds and used Zig Glue Two Way Glue Pen on the back of them, when the blue glue dries clear its now repositional although I stick on my clothes to take out some of the tackiness.
The Leaves are a Poppy Stamps die called Sprig and I added a Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangle frame on top and trimmed the ends of the leaves.
I stamped the speech balloon from the Prehistoric but I added the small Happy Birthday from a Simon Says Stamp set but I can't work out which one I've used there are some fun sentiment on the Neat and Tangled stamp set so its a case of finding one that fits.
