Feb 1959

I had a few pieces of this paper patterned set left although I can't think what its called but rather than bin I decided to use for a photo of my Mum and Dad. Sometimes I like using scrap left for scrapbooking because the bits are all that left and I generally they fall into place easier.
One I added the date and the pearl flourish which I notice doesn't show up and in hindsight I could have coloured black. I was stuck with what to do next so I left it for a bit and while searching for something I found the bullrushes die with the dragonflies and I had a lightbulb moment. I then added some ink splats with a stamp round the edges to soften the white and age it a bit. Turned out not bad at all.
I'm scheduling this post, I am out all of Saturday at a 12 hour Scrapbooking crop although I won't be there till the very end I will still be feeling the after effects this way I don't have to worry about  sorting out a post. Things should quieten down while I rest ready for our holiday soon.

Love this Debby, the collaged papers for the background and the contrasting black elements. It is very striking and everything fits perfectly with your gorgeous photo xxxx
