Swirly Sunday

I've had a bit of prob trying to photo this card, its very dark here this morning in Surrey and foggy, the pink ribbon stands out more than it does in real life. This card is using Friday Sketchers whose sketch this week is from Claudia, used a Sweet Ebony stamp, BG Euphoria and the flowers and ribbons are all out of my stash, the swirls are Quickutz flourishes.
Here's the finished front cover of Feliu's book, now realise I have to make a box, good job I didn't use the scraps for cards then. I've started making another at MJ's 12 crop yesterday which was fantastic so much so we've booked ourselves in for a few more dates, she looks after us so well and has some lovely things to buy. Biggest surprise was when we arrived and saw Fizzydrink from Bristol and then saw G as well, which was great to catch up with them. We didn't stay to the finish Sis had to drive me back to Guildford which added another hour to her trip and although she does it, she doesn't like night driving.

Sociable Saturday

The challenge on Tilda & co has been giving me a headache all week cos I really didn't have a clue, clock hands has been a suggested but you still have to incorporate them somehow so this is what I decided. I cut out the numbers with the cricut and using them as a template made the shape of the card, the papers are really old but are Making Memories which I cut using George cartridge in the cricut. I've used acetate for the inside of the number and run it throughthe cuttlebug with the swiss dots folder, finished off with my favourite Tilda. I do have a bit of a tip though avoid using new chalk eyes they're far too juicy and I got myself in a right pickle. Meet Argyll isn't he cute, he arrived Friday morning wasn't expecting him at all but apparently he comes free when you spend so much money at Cuddly Buddly ( lets keep that a secret since my Sister drops me in it far too often) and the reason I brought from Cuddly Buddly well instead of blaming Fran it was Nessy with some fab Christmas cards using their latest Christmas stamps.
A quick tag with Tilda to add to the others using the leftover scraps from the card, the oval being the shape out of the zero

And many thanks to Kim for this great award, afraid no time to sort it out off to a 12 crop and have to leave very early Saturday morning which is the reason for an extra Friday post and I've still got my Totes to pack!

The weathermen say it going to be warm and sunny Saturday but they've been saying that all week and its been grey, dark and dismal the only consolation is it hasn't rain.

Forgiving Friday

I love these papers, pity they're free out of one of the craft mags and they a bit shiny making it hard to play with but I think this little darling was worth it. The challenge on Cute Card Thursday is for In the water, the dilemma was that I've used my shark a few times and it wasn't that long ago I used the High hope fish but I had been thinking of Maggie who I'm ashamed to say hasn't been inked since I saw Debs on the Sugar Nellies blog. I used a Katharina sketch, I have a few printed out they are brilliant. Not sure about the flower, I've moved it twice already.

A Crate Thursday

I've discovered the name of the Crate papers I've been using its Birdie but you will be pleased to know that I have no more. The first cards started with the CPS 79 sketch but it did start to go its own way, not sure the make of the word stamp but the swirls are inkadinkado, funky flowers punches and the the butterfly is a template from ages ago. The frame was on the sheet of shapes and tags, which I ran through the cuttlebug.
I'm now getting down to the scraps of these papers but I still thinks it work for the Spoonful of Sugar challenge to use three ribbons and you can use any image now. I didn't like the ball on this image so the funky flower conveniently hides it. The ribbons came from a kit with loads of scrapbook papers not one of the ribbons are 12 inches but it worked for this card.
Last of these papers made this card, the sentiment is Anita's stamp and the funky flowers punch, now this looks more like the CPS sketch. Now just because all of Birdie's gone doesn't mean I haven't got any more crate papers in fact I'm using Brunch to make a Mini book for our friend in Spain who knows there may just be enough left for a card or two.

Wandering Wednesday

Real or faux stitching is this weeks Papertake Weekly challenge after colouring Tilda and paper piecing the luggage took ages to do, I decided on faux stitching. Not sure why Tilda has photo all wishy washy cos she looks much brighter in real life. The houndstooth paper found in the bag of Scraganza scraps, the rest is Rusty Pickle.
The box holding my Tilda's is full and I thought I ought to record which ones I've got so when I use a Tilda, I'm going to colour an extra one without any layers and very simply put onto a tag.

Zoe has some fantastic blog candy on her blog, I had to laugh though she plans to raid her Mum's flower stash.

Now this is a bit spooky because when I checked Papertake Weekly and it was for stitching I thought how weird is that after doing a card for Friday sketchers with all that hand sewing, then yesterday checking out blogs found Beates blog and she had the diaper fold pouch on her blog (it was her tutorial on SCS) that I had done for the Penny Black challenge, almost scared to check the rest of the challenges what could be next paper piecing.

Tactful Tuesday

Penny Black Challenge is for anything but a card, now the best place for templates is Splitcoaststampers and thats were I found this Diaper fold pouch or in the UK, Nappy fold pouch. I used a 8inch square and still using the Crate Paper, of course a Penny Black stamp and there's a bit of glossy accents on his nose. As I'm writing this I notice there is some faux stitching I could use this for papertake weekly challenge for stitching but I'll wait and see how the card that I'm doing turns out.

The boys finished really early and we went out for a meal not far from us, fabulous food and I got some great photos for Save the day, it make a nice change from the same ones each time.

Bank Holiday Monday

Another stamp that until today was inkless, I think the trouble is I love the Sweet Ebony ones best. So I used the Sketch Saturday who incidentally are looking for a DT so check it out if you're interested. The papers are BG Euphoria, white peel off for the sentiment, the swirl corner is from the Storybook cricut cartridge and the flowers is a punch with papermania gems. After I had coloured the image I cut the card down only to realise, I had cut it too much and that I didn't have a good enough border which is why there is another layer thats not in the sketch.
Here's Julys Save the day, I made this far too plain but I still think it will be a great reminder of the past year so I will keep with it, although it always falls on a day when not a lot is happening.
The CJ is finished, it was for your favourite chocolate recipe and I think it was a rotten shame that when I suggested to my Sis that she could cook mine so I could photo it, she gave me that look, so had to settle on raiding her larder with my camera instead.

I know its Rudolph day but lately I've been making Christmas cards especially with the Whiff of Joy stamps even so don't be surprise to see some more has I do have some Penny Black Christmas stamps thats are also still waiting to be inked.

Soothing Sunday

This time is Carole's turn for the sketch on Friday Sketchers and when I saw it I immediately thought of this Penny Black stamp for the space for text, I was going to use a Sarah Kay stamp but this Sweet Ebony one is called Reflective and seemed more appropriate. I used crate papers, quickutz flourishes, prima flowers, the brads are from Poppicraft and I did the stitching by hand.

CJ still not finished but I'm determined to do so today and I need to do my Q page for my A-Z journal, also started a mini book for a friend need to finish that too.

Storybook Saturday

This was a bit of an experiment using the Storybook cricut cartridge, the scallop rectangle and the swirly frame were both cut out using it. I used another new Tilda and the challenge on Cute Card Thursday was for bright colours I think these colours cover that challenge.

If like me you love prismacolours pencils, then I found a great e-bay shop who sells them individually, 1buy1pencils, ordered them Thursday, here yesterday, I needed a light peach which I use for faces and there were also some new colours I didn't have, blending stumps which I've already used which work brilliantly and a sharpener, love how I was able to combine the postage and they arrived all wrapped carefully in bubble wrap.

Today I must do my CJ it needs to be posted on 1st September.

Whiff of Joy

There are so many challenges and blogs with sketches, I can't keep up and you know I addicted to sketches. The first one is Trina's sketch for her blog candy, Whiff of Joy stamp, doodlebug papers, fiskars punch and the large snowflake was using the cricut.
And if you buy blue doodlebug papers why not get the Lilac ones too and this time I've used the sketch on Claudia's blog.

Marks and Spencers have a 20% off homeware weekend that started yesterday and I was dragged to The Meadows in Camberley.

Looks like I shall be all alone this weekend because OH is working with BIL and Sis can finally get into her school so plenty of crafting in peace.

Theatrical Thursday

It helps when doing challenges to read the post about the challenge instead of seeing sketch and rush off to make a card because if I had read the post I would have realised that Spoonful of Sugar are now allowing any stamp. I don't think it would've made a difference, I love Sweet Ebony stamps. Still using prismacolours pencils, the papers are Doodlebug and the sentiment is Hero Arts. The sketch is by Debbie who also has a fantastic blog candy at the moment so pop by.

Things have been quiet this week in our house and DH hasn't got under my feet yet although he caught me out last week when I brought the new Magnolia's from Sir Stampalot.

Cheerful Wednesday

I'm really pleased how this turned out, the sketch is one of Katharinas for PapertakeWeekly, add some quickcutz swirls and ribbons from poppicrafts which I put some teeny tiny gems on the flower heads. The flower was in my flower box, the sentiment Hero Arts and of course Cross-stitch Tilda with her pinny layered.
Now yesterday I had the American crafts papers still on my desk ready to put away and thought why not use it, I have a bundle of papers with images already stamped including this little fella. The ribbon is Poppicrafts, the sentiment is a peel off, cut out and coloured the hearts with a gel pen. I have used glossy accents on the bubbles and I followed the sketch on Sketch Saturday . Both images I used prismacolours pencils still my faves at the moment till I can work out a painless way to open the markers.

Trio Tuesday

It's a Cold and Ice/Blue and White challenge on Tilda & Co and I saw that I had stamped some of Magnolia's Sheep but hadn't used them yet and if you one sheep why not have three. The papers are American crafts and of course my fav embossing folder and nestabilities. The ribbon is from Poppicrafts.

I confess I do have some promarkers and I've pretty much sorted shading thanks to Fran's tutorial but there is a problem, although pencils are hard on my hands and I have to use a therapeutic glove, the promarkers I have a job to get the caps off and it effects my shoulder to a point I have to stop using them. So not sure whether to persist and the caps get easier or give up with them especially has I love my prismscolours and watercolour pencils.

Magnetic Monday

I do love paper piecing images its a great way of bringing the papers and the image together. The challenge on Penny Black Saturday is for ribbons and on Karin's blog she has a sketch that I thought would work well for the ribbons, the sentiment is Hero Arts and the papers Making Memories.
Here's two more pages for my A-Z journal, I'm now on Q which I'm really not sure what to do but I have a CJ to complete before I can do it so have some more time to think about it but at least I have some ideas for the next letters thanks to the girls at Scrapbuddies.

Remarkable Sunday

I blame Leann making me feel guilty about some of the rubber stamps I have that have not been inked yet, I've used the background before but not the Tilda even though I had her for ages. I followed the sketch on Friday Sketchers by Mumur, not sure if the tag works but its on there now. Ribbon is from Poppicrafts and the papers are Paper Studio, I think I may have brought them from Crafts U Love.
Today I'm off to Scrapbuddies at Mychett, I'm getting lunch today because Nannette isn't coming so hopefully I don't poison my Sis.

Sparkling Saturday

Isn't she gorgeous, this is my new Whiff Of Joy stamp, coloured her with prisms but I may have over done the glitter its on all edges of the blue cardstock, her wings and I even used glitter card for the corners. The little sentiment is from Craftwork Cards, the organza ribbon is made out of some material that was cut into strips so I can use this card for the Cute Card Thursday Challenge for soft furnishings.
Here's a close up of the angel.

I got roped into helping my Sis with a card making class with some of the ladies at Mums Warden Assisted place. Bless them they thought Sis was demo-ing but she actually was getting them to make cards. I do think that getting them rubber stamping was ambition to start with but they were in their element with Peel Offs, which we watercoloured although one poor lady kept smudging hers and she said it was ruined but by the time I was finished no-one would have know. As I told them there's no mistakes in card making just Happy Accidents. They want us to come again!

It's the Scrapbuddies crop tomorrow so if you in the Mychett Surrey area do come and join us and if you not sure just pop in to say Hello.

Flourishing Friday

On A Spoon Full of Sugar the challenge is for a card with a secret message, so I decided on this style. I've used the wonderful Elizabeth Bell stamp from Funky Kits, craftwork papers, blossoms from Poppicrafts and my stash and the ribbons from Poppicrafts
I've used the bottom flower as stop for the circle so it stops exactly where it needs to, to hide the message.
The sentiment is Hero Arts and the swirls are out of Scrapagogo kit.

I've had to get that awful EZ mount stuff again, my Whiff of Joy stamps have arrived and are ready to go and I've picked up some new Christmas papers from Papermania and Trimcraft but I need to tidy up my desk because at the moment I can't find it.
