One Layer

This weeks challenge on Less is More is for One Layer Thank you card. The Thank you sentiment is easy I'm using a Simon Says Stamps one.
So I decided to use my new Flower Garden stamps again from Simon Says Stamp. But first I had to make some Masks to help me stamp out the flowers and leaves. Once stamped I coloured it in my pencils, I drew the lines to make a pretend mat and it is straight, blasted photographer again.
The other day I used Glossy Accents for the centres but I decided to try Liquid Pearls but I think I prefer the glossy accents.
Looks like its going to be a beautiful warm weekend so it going to be hard to make some cards when the sun is calling.

It's time for Mo's Dream Team Blog Hop

So this months theme is for RIBBONS from Gretha who I had the pleasure to meet on Saturday. Maybe a little over the top with ribbon but I saw the Friday Sketch Challenge and decided to use ribbons on each strip of different colours. Funny enough it looks fine in real life.
The papers are from Pebbles and I use the Baby Fairy Ladybug from Mo's shop although as I'm from UK we much prefer Ladybird and this Baby Fairs is so cute and far away from a bug.
My ladybirds are a Elizabeth die and a perfect addition to this image. My Favourite Things Crochet border die round my image finished of with a La La Land corner. Oh not forgetting some Liquid Pearls to make my image mat interesting.

Flower Garden

First of all I cheated a bit by using the Sketch on Splitcoast Stampers SC 487 but once I got the idea of using the Spellbinders Curved Border for the side it all just fell into place.
The flowers are using the Simon Says Stamp Flower Garden stamps and die set in fact I coloured several of each so don't be surprised to see more. I just have to remember if I'm using the dies not to colour over the edge!
Once again I've used the Simon Says Stamp Really Big Thanks stamps and die set but this time I've used the stamps you can buy with it.
The doily is actually Spellbinders Stately circles which I drew round on Pink which then was cut out and glued into place behind. I did find I had to trim it again.
To give some texture and detail I've used the Penny Black Interlocking die but I cut out a small bit of it.
Now to finish I had to so something to the centres so I used Glossy Accents but I had to wait till all the glue was dry to avoid curled edges. I treated each dot separately which the camera hasn't caught but it does look better in real life.

Triple Stamping

I had wondered how my favourite Hero Arts Stamp Leafy Vines would look if I tripled stamped it and I also used a multi coloured inkpad.
I've actually cut my coloured mats a bit of the thin side so if you look carefully you will find the halo effect. Thats why the mats need to be a bit more generous to hide it.
It also give me the opportunity to use the large Birthday sentiment from Simon Says Stamps.
I need to get myself into gear since my draft posts with cards waiting is down to two cards and one I can't show till after Sunday. But it does take a day or two possibly three to recover from the busy weekend but I've recently got the Downton Abbey DVD set and its kept me occupied, although my daughter is unhappy she sat a watch an episode and has now taken series one to watch in her room.

Precious Bundle

These papers I brought as a kit from a Craft Shop Sale many years ago and the birth of Mason gave me the opportunity to use them. I cut out the train and the boat from the papers to make the embellishments. The fishtail banners are a punch from Stampin Up but I drew round one with a thick pen to help make the mat template for them. The letters are Memory Box on the banner but the larger letters are cut from the Cricut.
I really should get over my fear of sewing on my layouts with machine because my hand sewing looks a little rough.
The actual frame is Martha Stewart around the page punch, hard work but does make a lovely finish.

Shabby Chic

The weeks are rushing by and its time for a new challenge on Everybody Art Challenge, this week  is for Shabby Chic. To be honest this isn't that Shabby, the papers are some old ones from Stamping Up its design and the added lace gives the card that look, the Sarah Kay image helps too.
For a change I've used the doily punch for the decorated edge round the image and the corners are La La Land ones.

Roses

Its a CAS card this morning, I've admired the Simon Says Stamps Best Mom Ever Stamp set and I seen the stamping in white technique on Pinterest. Add the Sketch from Splitcoast Stampers SC486 which I saw Lols my teamie from SSS made a super card and this is what I came up. I've used the Simon Says Stamps Thanks die to complete the nice and quick card.

Well its been a busy weekend, first off it was MIL Birthday on Friday and Saturday we travel across the Pennines into Yorkshire to visit Lily of the Valley 10th Birthday party. It was absolutely lovely to meet up all the DT who I've worked out I follow every single one of them. Not forgetting all the lovely blogging pals met up with for a chat.
But it was incredibly busy hardly any room to move, I sent MIL and Hubby upstairs for coffee and dragged my DD round with me. Definitely need to visit when its not so busy there were some amazing cards that needed to looking at and although I brought some stamps I've a feeling I missing a few so maybe a little online order is needed!

Its a long time since my 1st Anniversary and I had to check what gift was suppose to be to make my card. When I discovered it was paper I hoped Mo's Extra image would work and the Simple Stories paper had a sort of word print papers and this is want I came up with.
I'm quite pleased with, the Happy is from Penny Black but the number and Anniversary are All Occasions dies. The fancy corner is La La Land die and the funky flowers are EK success retro punch.

I hope the couple liked it seeing as its not really a traditionally Wedding Anniversary card.

Hollyhocks

I made this card in panic when I discovered my Penny Black stamp for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge was retired but then realised it wouldn't work for Spring Flowers Holly Hocks are Summer ones.
I originally brought this stamp because I saw a card at the Glitter Pot and wanted to try it out that way but I wish now I photo the card because I've only got vague picture in my head.
For a change and because everyone is talking about watercolour I've used watercolour pencils I've now put them away and I'll stick to my Polychromos.
The papers are Echo Park and I chose it for the yellow bricks to match my Hollyhock. Keeping with the watercolour theme I used the watercolour set from Stampin Up for the background and the dots.
The thanks die is from Simon Say Stamp.
Well I've got the AA route planner and Tom Tom at the ready I plan to be at the Lily of Valley Birthday this morning.

Ballerina Fairy

I saw that All Dressed Up had a new freebie so I thought I would see if it work Debby Style. I really concern now when using new digi after seeing that some so called Artist copying and using other peoples work.
I also saw this fab sketch on someones blog and now I can't find it. I think my image could be on the large size but I don't think I would be able to cut out the legs and arms if they were any smaller.
Apart from the CC Designs for the flowers I think all the rest of the details are made up with My Favourite Things.
The papers could be Authentique but don't hold me to that.

I've also got the the other freebie but I think I was scared to use it but I think I will now.

Sketch Saturday

I realised at the beginning of the week that I missed the deadline for the other weeks Sketch Saturday but that doesn't mean I can't show it. I was rather pleased how the card turned out.
The papers I'm pretty is Bo Bunny and making the fishtail banners means I could use the ones that I don't like and are left. The two stripes banners are made with the last tiny bits.
The little chap image is from Saturated Canary and poor thing has been coloured up for ages just waiting for the perfect sketch.
I had to confess I nearly messed up the whole card by stamping the sentiment but I must be improving.

Tulips

Oh dear I've done it again the Penny Black Tulips are now retired and guess who brought the last one not realising but there is a new one to replace it and you can find it here.
The papers are Pebbles Garden Party which is also used for backing the cut out frame. Which I used Poppystamps by Memory Box Diamond Background but it was too large. So I made a frame the size I wanted and stuck it on top before trimming off the excess.
I think I need some pink liquid pearls instead of I had to use the more expensive alternative pearls.
All finished with a bit twine from Doodlebug.

Quited Strips

A few week ago I was reading on someone's blog how to use those strips that come with paper pack, which I have done here. Taken the strips I like and stick them together and embossed them together to get like a quilted effect again seen that also on someone's blog.
I added the contrasting strips cos I didn't like the finishing of the strip ideally they would have looked better with actual stitching but I haven't been brave enough to use my sewing machine on card.
I also use one the cards that sometimes come in pack too. This time I added the Simon Says Stamps Birthday sentiment and added the silhouette leaf stem again from Simon.
The flowers are CC designs and the leaves are MFT.

Pete's Crew

Not sure on this layout, I feel there is something missing just above where the couple are but for what I don't know. More Echo Park paper possibly its a boy one. The stars are either Spellbinders or Simon Says Stamps dies. Pretty sure I made the banners with a square punch. Letters cut from the Cricut.
I'm pleased that this is week 19 and I've kept up with one a week.

Framed

I'm pretty certain today is Tuesday its always a bit confusing after a Bank Holiday. But it does mean a new challenge on Everybody Art Challenge. This week its a sketch and I wanted to used the new Spellbinders not convinced I like it yet but the cute image is from Tiddly Inks. The papers I want to say are Pebbles but I'm not sure and I've used the curved border from Spellbinders to make my strip more interesting.

Hubby took me to Wisley first thing in the morning yesterday before it got busy just want I needed the Rhododendrons were beautiful and there was a craft show, lots of wood, art and silver jewellery.

Nearly there

A friend mention to me last weekend that its all gone quiet on the conversion of the outhouse. Here is the culprit it takes 6 weeks for the floor to be properly dried before the flooring can go down. Poor chap had a hell of a job to fit it in such a small place but he did a good job.

The poor Tiler wasn't well but if you self employed you don't get sick pay, you don't work you don't get paid and he had a senior moment the result is several tiles missing!

So the tiler popped back and finished of and then it was a week before the plummer had a slot for me  to finish his part. 

You know you going round the bend no pun intended but I got very excited about the fact the new loo worked! The plummer was impressed with the tiny sink with its plug, he kept pressing it so it would pop up.

So here' the pic of a very exciting shower! Hubby needs to finish painting the ceiling and I need the actual door fitted.
