Anything but a card

This so not my favourite type of challenge but when you a DT member of Simon Says Stamps Challenge you have to do as your told, although I do have senior moments.

Photobucket

The Team is showcasing 7 Gypsies and Maya Road products but you don't have to use them to enter the challenge.
Originally I was going to make a mini book with the 7 Gypsies 6inch Lille pad but time ran away and I decided to make a gift box. I think it would have been quicker to make the book.
I wanted to used the Romantic Rectangles for the lid so the box had to be made to fit, several lids later.
Also the papers cried out distress me, so every thing was inked included my Hero Arts Etched Flowers.

Here's a pic to prove its a box and not just the top.

Do hope you can join in this weeks Simon Says Stamps Challenge and of course there is an amazing prize to wind and don't forget to check out the team who are far more clever and originally than me.

Bookmark

Not only do I like instant images to colour without any stamping but they don't take up any room in my craft room just hope my printer who loves my pencils and sansodor continue for many years yet.
This little cutie is from Sassy Cheryl the papers are once again from DCWV but since the Everybody Art Challenge this week is for anything but a card no added two pages to make a square.
Ok I've cheated but I really do go into melt down with anything but a card so I made a Bookmark which why there is long ribbons these hang out of the book to help find your page.
Cos she is little I could fit her into a rectangle made with punch around the page. The it was a case of added some daisies and butterflies. Think I'll give it to my DD she still reads actual books.
Do pop over to the challenge blog and check out the team for some inspiration.
Mr Blogger has made my reading list reappear so my morning will be catching up.

Paperbag art

I love the ideas the DT have for challenges on Everybody Art and this week is no exception Paperbag so rather than make one which you could do I've decorated one of a few I had. I got them in a kit to make a paperbag mini book but they never got used. Gosh all I do is moan about my photography skills and this time its because the light was too bright, guess we're never happy.
I used some Kaiser papers and a Stamping Bella image you know I love these cup/mug girls. It was a great excuse to use some larger flowers and of course the Doo Hickey swirl had to been used.
I folded the top and made a catch using buttons so pleased this worked out but it was bit fiddly.

All in all I pleased how this turned out.
Do pop over to the challenge blog and check out the team and would love for you to join us.

Mo's blog hop

Sorry but this is probably going to be another long post but you might find it worth bearing with it.
So I've the great honour to be the Guest DT for Mo's Dream Team and today we're having a blog hop where you have chance to win some vouchers to spend in Mos Digital shop.
The blog hop has a theme and Lori is the host, she choose A Gift. I'm really not that good at making gifts especially as I've already done a notelet book and a picture frame this week.
In the end I choose to make another book card they're are quite easy to make once you get the idea although I don't recommend trying to make a square one because you have to join two pieces paper together to make the cover. I've used the absolutely gorgeous Sugar Plum Fairy and some papers that I've had for ages and finally managed to cut into.
Love the Marianne poinsettia die and some small punched flowers to finish.
Inside is a necklace I've made using the same die and Sis you will be proud of me the jewellery twine has been knotted the Feliu's way.
Here's a close up of the necklace.
Hope you're still with me and hopefully you came to my blog from

and once you gave a comment here you need to pop along to

If you're lost then go back to Lori Blog that's where you'll find the start of the hop.

If you are still with me here's Vinnie modelling the said necklace to prove it is indeed a what I say, funny but the rest of the family refuse to do it, something to do with being on my blog!

Thank You Present

Bit of a long post today but bear with.
Since its Wednesday it time for a new challenge on Simon Says Stamps Challenge which is Thanksgiving/Thank you and the team is showcasing Hero Arts.
So you might be wondering why I've used a Stampavie Sarah Kay.

I knew I was using the Hero Arts Dotted Flowers so I thought I would get away with using one my favourite stamps. I made another Notelet Holders after being shown how to make by Nikki at her Stampin Up Workshop since I thought this would make a lovely present.

The papers are Kaiser Chanteuse and all the sentiment I've used are Hero Arts Anytime Messages and I've also used Hero Art Antique Engravings for the Butterflies.

I don't often show the back of my cards but there's a stunning sentiment on the Anytime Messages which I stamped on the back and I had a flower left over.
We would love for you to join us and you don't have to use Hero Arts is just to help to remind people what amazing shop Simon Says Stamps are. Especially when they offer this amazing prize to one lucky winner.

It was football on the telly last night so I had an evening in my craftroom but I was too tired to tidy up, bit scared to go in there this morning!

Happy 3rd Birthday EAC

Everybody Art  is three years old gosh it really doesn't seem that long but it is and we're celebrating with a Blog Hop so hopefully you've arrived here from Anusch and make sure you use Mr Linky to win the little Birthday candy I have although I've yet to photo.
But to the actually challenge which is for A Gift my heart always dips, I much more a cardmaker or Scrapbooker but determined to make something I've always admire on other blogs. A tealight card so I followed the tutorial on Lena blog and because my tea light were bright orange I decided to use the My Minds Eye Girl Friday papers to match them.
The sentiment is Butterfly Kisses I've had for ages and my fave flower punches and doo hickey swirl.
Once you've signed up with Mr Linky for  my surprise candy you need to pop over to see Domi. And don't forget to join in with our challenge.
Have photo the candy some stamps that maybe aren't new new but they've never  been used and I'll pop some ribbon and some flowers in too.

A Gift Box

This was giving me all the trouble last week, at Everybody Art challenge we could use these cute digi images from Meljens designs and although we didn't have to use them I had an idea of how I wanted to. The challenge this week is to make a gift, I made a gift box and seeing while I was away my DD has been baking cookies my box would be ideal for putting some of them in for a gift.
The box was made with strong card and covered with some left over crate paper.
The scallop was cut on the Cricut using the Storybook cartridge and then I cut and layered the cute puppy.
We also had a cute digi of large flower and bubble bees so I printed out several so I could layer the flower and the bumble bee on the top.

Here's a close up of the flowers and I see I need to bit extra glue on that corner.
Of course you don't have to use Meljens designs and I look forward to seeing some fabulous gifts.
I did manage to get to one craft shop and I can't believe I brought boring essential stuff.

New Beginnings

The new Challenge is up on the Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge and its for New Beginnings. I have decided that I would use the Bride and Groom stamps from Sugar Nellie for new beginning as Husband and Wife.
So I could send my niece the photos I took of her Wedding I made a CD wallet that I've made a few times from Scrapdolly's class download.
The Bride and Groom image inside was left over from the ones I made for their Invitations, the papers I think are Kaiser but don't hold me to that, I must make a note before I cut of manufacture strip.
Do check out the fab DT and we welcome Christine on to our DT.

My hands are a lot better today and its looks like its all connected to the dodgy neck and shoulder probs I have. So I'm going to take things gently today and since Hubby is home I might find a Craft shop open.
OMG Mr Linky has disappeared so I can't draw the stamp candy, will do so as soon as he returns.

Shopping List Pads

The challenge on Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge is for last minute gifts, so after visiting the new Poundland in Farnborough I picked up these jotter pads there's like 8 in the pack. Can you believe that two of the Magnolias have never been used, shame on me.
The papers are BG Nook and Pantry and I couldn't be without the MS borders, the sentiment is PC generated, punched out using a stampin' up word punch.
Nice and quick pressie wish they were all like that.

SimonSayStampsChallenge 2

First of I would like to thank everyone who participated in our first Simon Says Stamps challenge we had over a hundred entries which is absolutely brilliant. Now to our latest challenge RECYCLING now us crafters are great at hoarding bits and pieces in case we might use them and if you like me they're in a safe place, bit and bobs off boxes, cards and anything that catches our eyes so where have I put them and why is it when I needed them I can't find them. I wandered round the house looking for something to recycling not helped by decluttering round the house lately even my DD has tidied her room and there's always bits of rubbish there. The only things I had is my son's CD collection, he's downloaded them on his PC and gave them to me to see if I would like any. A lightbulb went off just like in the cartoons how about recycling one of them and another lightbulb moment why don't I use Mum and Dad's Golden Wedding photos and put a disc with the rest of the photo's on.
Has you can see thats exactly what I did, using some BG papers and the Simon Says Stamp savour Sweet Cupcakes stamps. I used confetti like papers from BG for the top of the cupcakes they look just like sprinkles. I also used some gold embossing powder round the edges but of course the camera isn't picking that up.

So if you were lucky enough to get an Easter egg ( I didn't ) with a fab bit of ribbon, or that cute box you kept to alter, perhaps you kept some wrapping paper or even a topper of another card well nows the time to use them.
Since making this I've discovered several things I could use, I had some embellishments off some Christmas Crackers, some wallpaper samples and some odd bits of ribbon. Duh
