Moved In

This is what Hubby was altering last week before I could move in. Its Billy the Bookshelf (thats what Ikea calls him) He had to have a bit more cut out at the bottom for the skirting and the light fitting which I think you can just see above the first line of RUB. The crates are full of punches, the A5 boxes have my dies and the ones above some embossing folders from Stampin Up and Inkylicious brushes. Apart for the punches the boxes have been moved around so that the stamps are not in direct sunlight from the door.

Notice the white box in the days of my children being babies this was we travelled with not fancy pretty bags that they have now. Its full of material but it I rest my feet on it personally I think I need a cushion for it to pretty it up. I also love that with a twist of the office chair I can used the Big Shot without getting up. My biggest worry is the Stampin Up Inkpads I keep checking the sun isn't touch them to dry them out.

Here's my headache I really don't want to part with it but it has to go but its still two thirds full. My Penny Black wooden stamps are in four of the drawers, Hero Art Cling and Penny Black Cling in another two. Three full of ribbons and two of sizzix dies, the last one is full of odds and sods. The plastic draw is empty but hubby needs to do a huge sort out of his shed and it maybe needed for that. The crate has odds and sods including some things for a Candy that I'm trying to organise.

Almost done there's still a cupboard to go up next to the corner cupboard.

Finished just need to get rid of some tools we've decided to get an upstand to go round the worktop one to stop the paper going down the back but one of the cupboards have a bit of gap and it will hide this too. But thats been ordered and won't be here for a couple of weeks but I'm not waiting till them I shall be moving in soon. Probably after the weekend so my next photo will be with all my stuff!

Final Update for a While

Well the conversion is nearly signed off, we now have floor covering and more importantly we have a sliding door. There's a couple of probs that Neil my builder needs to finish which should be this week.

And since Hubby is over 60 he gets a discount card for B&Q so we wait to Wednesday to pick up the paint which need to use.
I'm hoping the budget will stretch to having the carpenter back for a day to fix up cupboards, shelves etc
We now have a deadline, I offered to have Nikki's Stampin Up Catalogue launch in July, it will still be her party but just using my space and my MIL is coming down the 22nd July

Nearly there

A friend mention to me last weekend that its all gone quiet on the conversion of the outhouse. Here is the culprit it takes 6 weeks for the floor to be properly dried before the flooring can go down. Poor chap had a hell of a job to fit it in such a small place but he did a good job.
The poor Tiler wasn't well but if you self employed you don't get sick pay, you don't work you don't get paid and he had a senior moment the result is several tiles missing!

So the tiler popped back and finished of and then it was a week before the plummer had a slot for me  to finish his part.

You know you going round the bend no pun intended but I got very excited about the fact the new loo worked! The plummer was impressed with the tiny sink with its plug, he kept pressing it so it would pop up.

So here' the pic of a very exciting shower! Hubby needs to finish painting the ceiling and I need the actual door fitted.

Its been a While

Its been a bit quiet on the conversion of a single bricked outhouse to my mini wet room and tiny craft space. The tacker has been and it was plaster boarded. Special plaster board for the wet room

Normal stuff for the craft space

A path and a bit more added to the drive all one level so no trip hazards

The plumber has recently been to sort out the radiators to help dry the floor and do I see plugs.

And lights.

The towel rail works but has been sealed off till the the Tiler's been but we still waiting for the floor to dry its worst than waiting for paint to dry.

Where are we now

Even more insulation, honestly I will have gone from the coldest room to hottest at this rate.

Things have been put on hold until the floor dries out. The floor man won't lay the wet room floor unless the moisture in the floor is below a certain figure.

But I do have drain for the shower

So meanwhile the patio is almost complete.
Also the room now has been boarded out ready for the plaster board, then the Plasterer, my room gets smaller everytime a builder walks in it.

Hows it going

So the plumbing is where is should be

Wires are everywhere and the electrician is sorting out security lights so if anyone goes near the gate or the shed the garden lights up like Blackpool Illuminations.

Two very important double plugs, one for the daylight lamp and my Ipod the other for the Cricut and Heat tool got to get my priorities rights.

We have a new door

At the moment it comes with a pet entrance

From the front the door still needs some work to the roof yet.
Sorry if its becoming a bit boring but I plan to record its development and if I decide to scrapbook the event this helps with the timeline.

And so it continues

We now have stud walls waiting for pipes, wires and insulation.

The new part of the patio won't match the rest so originally we said could they order slabs for the old part but we've now decided they can lay as well, my builder reckons it won't take long!

They've gone up into the room space ready for the new back door.

This tiny space is mine, it may look on paper I have a large room but actually is smaller than the one I left.

Proceeding along

So now we don't have a door and the reason the gate went in this is optimise the space inside.

sorry for the fussy pic but this is inside bit concerned they need something to hold it up but been told this while the cement sets.

This window is now blocked in I'm thinking shelves.

Bricks for the stud work this is how high the floor need raising to match the rest of the house, at this point I can see how small my space is going to be. Have been advised I need another sort out.

This been the gate with a few security measures that you can't see, once building work is finished a nice climbing rose is going to be planted to go over the trellis and Hubby has decided on the thorny bushes that will be planted in front of the wall. Other measures have been taken with the shed and more to come.

And so it continues

I was going to post updates to the changes happening here but with the burglary which if I didn't have mobility problems I wouldn't be doing this and then it wouldn't of happened. But it lost its magic even more so since building control means I've lost 6inches all round my room thats a heck of lot space lost and I'm sure its not all necessary unless we live in Siberia.
So we have the new drain fitted and an area for me to get out if I need to be permanently in a wheelchair

Something has amused hubby

We now have a gate the culprit that exposed our garden.

And a path although with a bit of obstruction at the moment.

New ceiling beams to hold up the roof!

And you can just make out there are no internal walls now.

Refit

Just a reminder what my Craftroom and outhouse used to look like, my desk worktop and draw unit which was upcycled from a school
To the right of my desk my cricut.
 Right hand side
Left hand side if there was space I'll find something to fill it.
Two doors to hide the mess.
Next to my craftroom the outside loo that was blocked up before we moved in. The disgusting fridge is classed as the Beer Fridge no food is allowed in it!
The passageway to the right the door to the front of the house which will be blocked in.
Otherside of the passage to the door into the garden.
This is a picture from the front.
My craftroom after it was stripped out.
Drying out soggy bricks
Digging out to sort levels out
A way to get in once the door is blocked in.
So thats the story so far.
