This week the challenge is Anything Goes

We are showcasing Altenew this week, which just so happens to be Simon says Stamp Brand of the Month. You don’t have to use them to join in but if you have some we would love to see them used.

As you may know, the  Simon Says Stamp Store is accepting new orders, but have longer shipping times for the moment due to the coronavirus. With this in mind we have made the difficult decision to suspend the $50 voucher for this challenge.

We know that many people are staying safe at home and we would love it if you would continue to enter the challenges and have fun! We are all in this together! 

I had got something from Simon says Stamps for this challenge, I picked it because there was plenty in stock but to be honest it wasn't really me, So I hunted in my Mama Elephant stamp box there was few and discovered that SSS still has this marvellous Artic Penguins still in stock not sure how many but a idea immediately popped into my head.

A few weeks ago there was a sketch on CAS(e) this sketch where there was three squares on the bottom so why not have penguins instead.

First though I gave them some ice to stand on don't want floating penquins. I coloured them roughly and used Glossy Accents to make them shiny (don't look too close on the bigger bit it cracked when sticking them down.) The penguins were easy to make it was the fussy cutting that was tricky bit.

Oh forgot to say I cut the Simon says Stamp Wonky Rectangle before I did anything to give a finishing edge. I stamped the sentiment direct to the card and it came out first time, go me. The sentiment by the way is from Simon says Stamp Inside Christmas Greetings.

Fun In The Sun

I wish now I had stamped and fussy cut the whole parade, my little bear on his own looks so lonely. He is from Mama Elephant Animal Parade. It's while you fussy cut a white border round your image is when you wish you had brought the dies to match.

Hadn't a clue what to do next just know I wanted to use the little bear. I used the Echo Park Birthday Boy and the number sheet patterned paper, I used the Simon Says Bundle of Shapes, the large rectangle and the stitched strip, then when I was happy with the size of my strip I cut out a stitched square using Simon says Stamp Stitched Square dies. The stars were the Bundle of Shapes ones, this set is a really good essential piece of kit.

Goodness that all I've used, I did layer my bear, by cutting out two. One for a foot, ear, tail and paw which I stuck down on top of my main image.The second piece with the head, body, ear, paw, and leg. I embossed on the back, two foam squares one under the head and one under the body both in their centres. I glued down the ear, foot and nose which helped to give a rounded look.

This Mama Elephant Nom Nom Kitties reminds me of Lady and Tramp in cat way! I didn't get the dies which is fine till I decide to cut round the image and wish I had.

I was thinking of stencilling my wall I have done in the past but it just so happened that Doodlebug Milk and Cookies paper pad was on my desk and what was inside this perfect paper.

I cut it into three because in my head I had a sketch from a challenge but thats probably over now. The top bricks are just a strip of card and using a circle punch made the curve ends.

I decided to be early for Hubby's Valentine card and got out my Simon Says Stamp Kristina's Love set and added some hearts from the Simon Says Stamp Holiday Shapes. Lets hope I don't have senior moment and forget I made it.

Pandas

I saw this stamp called Pandamonium from Mama Elephant in the Simon Says Stamp Shop and I knew they were coming home whether they fitted the challenge or not. Luckily Friend and Superheros challenge well the Friends part does worked well with my choice of stamps.
Next I needed an idea to use them when I saw the sketch 543 on Splitcoast Stampers I knew my squares would have a panda in each one. Then I had a lightbulb moment I had the Memory Box Bamboo Shoots die and my card was falling into place.
I used the Simon says Stamp Stitched Squares to make my squares and stuck a bit of bamboo on each square before I added my panda.. With no colouring involved just stamped the pandas and cut them out.
The patterned paper is Echo Park Sunny Days Ahead and then I used Small Scallop Border Die to make a nice finishing edge between the white and patterned paper.
Sentiement, well I had forgotten I got the Simon Says Stamps Friends die which is layered twice and the latest Simon say Stamp card kit has the new stamp set Happy and Smile which had these fabulous words to complete my card.
