Joy and Wonder

I was so busy trying to make Christmas Cards it was dark before I knew it and the card I had planned to use today is still waiting to be photographed. Lucky for me this card was in my drafts.
This worked out so much better in my head than it did on paper. I think I need a more attractive looking sentiment  mat and I wasn't sure why I bothered to blend ink on the Penny Black Holly die when I had a perfectly good green card like I used for the poinsettia which by the way are Spellbinder dies.
The sentiment is also Penny Black, the papers are just dotty paper I have. I tend to keep dotty and gingham papers together since they work so well for CAS cards.

PB for Saturday

Not sure if it was Mr Blogger or even Mr Google but yesterday someone was being an absolute pain. I had to make sure all my PC security was up to date and as well as cleaning my cache/cookies on both PC and google. So fingers crossed I will be able to go on peoples blog to leave a comment.
So today I have this sweet Penny Black mouse and once again the sketch from Friday Sketch Challenge, this time with no sneaky bit of ribbon going across.
So my Snowflake borders are from Joy and I layered a kraft snowflake from MFT to go on top of some of them. I've used the Sizzix embossing folder and the sentiment is off my desk I found it in a drawer, its grey and I'm thinking originally it was LOTV but with what I don't know. The papers are LOTV too.
Heather my teamie from SSS and EAC sent me a gorgeous card recently and she had used liquid pearls I think round her image and I thought what a brilliant idea. Unfortunately Heather made a much better job then me, perhaps I've used too many anyway I'm please how it turned out.
Hopefully with a bit of help from Pinterest some CAS Christmas cards should be made over the next few days and then I can say job done.
Ok I've just looked at my card again and it looks like I missed his tail but I haven't its pink well at least it is in real life.

Bubble Heart

Do hope Mr Mojo gets used to being in the house because he doesn't seem to like it at the moment but what saves me is the cute image from Mo Manning called Bubble Heart.
Otherwise this is a very clean and simple for card well for me it is, I've used the sketch from Friday Sketch Challenge although I used a sneaky bit of ribbon.
Also I 've used the crochet border die from MFT and the sentiment is using the All Occasion Banners set from Simon Says Stamps.
Christmas Shopping Part One went well and I plan to wrap them since they are presents to take up to MIL at the beginning of December but that means making some very simple tags.
This weekend I need to make an effort of making some CAS Christmas cards that fit the normal postage slot but I also have hubby home so we will see how much I can actually get done and there is still a bit left in my craft room to find spaces for.

Two Penquins are better than One

Sometimes I have no idea how to turn Sketch Saturday sketch into a card but this weeks just popped into my head. It helped that I needed to use these penquins I've had them coloured and waiting since last year.
I have taken liberties by adding an extra Penquin but two are better than one right.
I did wonder after I made the card that my holly should of been snowflakes but by then it too late they're well and truly stuck.
It so long ago since I coloured these chaps that I can't remember who they're from and the gingham paper is out of my spotty and gingham scraps that I've kept whilst downsizing.
Did anyone else have a problem with blogger yesterday the little *****r would only let me look and not comment on any of my favourite blogs. Typical today I'm out early Christmas Shopping.

THANKS/THANKGIVING

50dollar_voucher_600px

So in the midst of a total muddle of moving my craftroom I had to make a DT card and I confess this was the best I could come up with.
I used the Hero Arts Maple Leaf and I stamped directly on the Lily Bee Autumn Spice papers then cut them out. Using an embossing tool burnished the back to give a rounded look. I used the Spellbinders label 7 die to give a book style for my sentiment. The sentiment comes from the Flower Friend set from Simon Says Stamps which also has the brilliant Just Because sentiment that I love using.
All that was left was for a bit or ribbon to finish of the corner, I decided to make a flat bow since the style of card called out for it.

Do pop over to the Simon Says Stamps Wednesday Challenge and check out the fabulous creations made by the team.

Simon Says Stamp

Some Scrapbooking

A couple of layouts the first is one I made on Saturday pretty much CAS. The papers are Echo Park All Boy I think and the letters are America Crafts. MJ has a cricut but sometimes I'm just too lazy to get up and cut them out so I love America Crafts letters for fast layouts.

I'm disappointed in the large flower well I should say I'm not keen of the flower centre but its done now. The frame is Spellbinders and it was touch and go whether the words would fit. Its a look busier than the one above
.
Back at 2pm for the latest Simon Says Stamps Wednesday Challenge.

Mr Dunderton

Time for another challenge on Everybody Art and this week we are looking for a Boys/Mans card. I had this Dr Digi coloured and waiting to be used so that was an easy choice but I do love the male images from Dr Digi.
Unfortunately I made this card when I was moving my craftroom, I still am but I'm having a bit of break from it at the moment but thats why its a clean and simple one.
There is a slight problem with my card but I'll let you find it. The papers are Doodlebug and the tiny scallop is Memory Box and the twine is again Doodlebug. For his glasses I waited till the silicone glue was well and truly set and then used glossy accents.
Do hope you can join us this week and check out the fabulous creations by the team.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.

Skating Sassy

I decided to buy some digi's from Sassy Cheryl since I haven't brought any new ones lately and I saw this Skating Sassy, although I think she is called Maddie.
Also saw the Sweet Sketch Wednesday and thought I should have a go this week. Since the papers are busy I left it fairly simply bit of lace and ribbon. A few glittery snowflakes and my favourite sentiment at the moment from Simon Says Stamps.
Well the craftroom has taken over the house, the only rooms safe are the living room, our bedroom although the built in wardrobe is hiding some magazines and my daughters room who has her own craft stuff. It still not empty

Mistletoe

Another CAS card this time I've used Penny Black Dancing Leaves die but it one sided so I cut out two and fixed two more branches to balance. Added some white pearls, a twine bow and its become a bunch of mistletoe although I'm pretty certain that is what its meant to be.
The sentiment which is permanently on my desk at the moment is from Simon Says Stamps Merry Trees stamp set and I still have used the trees yet.
Yesterday I went to MJ all day crop and had to even downsize how much stuff I could take as my sister was taking us in the small car. I think I may have to do this everytime I go that and to make boys/mens layouts because I achieved 2 double layout and 2 singles. Rest day today

Daisy Mouse

Since I'm in such a muddle and I really didn't want to miss posting a Penny Black today, I picked a favourite, so that would be a mouse.
They were the first Penny Black creatures I was able to colour and actually felt I did a good job now all animals I colour I try to do in mouse colours!
The papers are LOTV and I've used my favourite items, like ribbon, the MFT crochet die, not forgetting the lavish branch die with punched flowers. Whoops nearly forgot my punched butterflies.
Sorry for the quick post off to MJ this morning and I forgot to schedule.
Oh and I'm entering the Cute Card Thursday whose challenge is Animal Magic.

Chilly Coffee Lover

Not bad for the first card made in my dining room amongst chaos it helped that I used the Sketch and Stash sketch for this week and although it looks busy there's not much in the way of embellishments.
The papers are Nitwits from LOTV which are a bit different from the usual Christmas colours, the cute image is from Saturated Canary.
My Snowflakes are mixture of Simon Says Stamps and MFT and the sentiment is from Simon Says Stamps.
The corners are from Cuttlebug but so old now probably discontinued.
I admit to discovering the gingham ribbon while have a ribbon sort out.
I hope to make another card today but also somehow in all this mess I need to sort out my tote bag to go to MJ All day Crop.
I'm afraid the papers are scraps but the white letters are foam ones.

A New Addition

Recently I finally got round to scrapping my Great Nephew who was born errrrrr last year in fact the little chap has already had his first birthday.
I kept it quite simple and even my favourite items I use to make cards with have turned up on this layout.
I'm afraid the papers are scraps but the white letters are foam ones.

Bright and Black

Remember the die I used for Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge for my layout and I added a white CAS card with the left over word well I still had enough for another card. Which reminded me of the Less is More Challenge of a Dark background with bright colours.
Well I pretty much think this cover it using the Days of the Week die from Kelly Purkey but to finish it off I added a Simon Says Stamp Happy die and with the stamp set used the sentiment stamp to make the fishtail banner.
I have made a couple of cards but I trying to find somewhere to take the pictures since the house is full of craft clutter and the craftroom still looks half full.

Clean and Simple

wed-newchallenge-header

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge !! Thank you for joining us for the  Anything Goes Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too :-)
We will be back soon with the name of the lucky winner of the $50 Voucher !! :-)
This week the challenge is ,,,,,,,,

KEEP IT CLEAN AND SIMPLE

We are showcasing KELLY PURKEY Products this week. You don't have to use them to join in but if you have some we would LOVE to see them used :-)
As always Simon Says Stamp will be giving away $50 voucher to shop at the fabulous Simon Says Stamp Store!
50dollar_voucher_600px
I brought the Days of the Week die for my Scrapbooking and when I saw that Kelly Purkey was being showcased I saved it till now, of course you all love this die too and its now out of stock my apologies but I've waiting so long to use it.
First of all it pic of my family its increasing hard these days to get my two grown up children together for a photo opportunity so instruction were given to my Sister to try and take as many as they would let us all together while on holiday.
Now down to the details, the die I cut in various coloured card and since I had the November Kit from Simon Says Stamps I decided to use that cos I love the dotty patterned paper that was in it. I used the white card from the kit cos I could cut an 8 inch square which is the size I'm loving to scrapbooking at the moment. I did add a couple of bits of card out my scrap pile. I cut one out in black and cut up the individual words and layered over the top slightly overlapping so you get a black shadow.
The 24/7 was using Memory box dies and the Simple letters outline words are from a stamp set that I brought from SSS for scrapbooking too.
That just left the dots which was also from the November kit stamp set but I had to restrain myself after this is suppose to be a CAS layout and for me this is.

With the left over coloured letters I made another days of the week, well I couldn't waste them, I also used the words from the stamp set from the November kit.

So now it's YOUR turn ! Happy Crafting !!

Owls and Cushions

Something a bit different this morning the moving and sorting of my craftroom is coming at a price and I'm feeling overwhelmed with my hoarding. We are even sorting out normal cupboards to find space for some of my craftstuff!
Anyway last year I saw a mag called Mollie Makes with these cute owl mittens and DD has problems with her wrist that she broke when she was a teenager and suffers when its cold so I promised to make them. I use to knit like a card make many years ago but had to stop because of my shoulders but I thought these tiny things would be OK but yuck its on four needles but a year later they're done.

I wanted a book cushion for my e reader but could only find one from the US and the postage was awful but google did find a page on how to make your own. All it is, is a rectangle about 10 inches by 14 inches. So making that was easy but using little tiny foam balls without a funnel wasn't funny at least I had the sense to try to outside. In the end my son came to the rescue and he vacuumed the patio afterwards!

I am still making cards just but priority has to be given to my Design Teams and I expect I will have to go down the CAS route for a while as well.

But I will be back I think at 1pm with the new Simon Says Stamps Wednesday Challenge.

Autumn

Time for another challenge on Everybody Art this time we're looking for Autumn, I went for Autumn colours. A bit of luck on my part but I had this Wee Stamp image coloured based on these fabulous Autumn colours from LOTV. But gosh there were lots of fiddly tiny bits to cut out.
I've used the sketch from CLP which is their last ever sketch such a shame. I also used a colour template to ink some background sky not obvious by the photo but there nonetheless.
Yes that is the lavish branch which has various bits cut finish of my card and the flowers are EK success punches..

So here's the angle shot. Hope you can join us this week and do pop over and check out the team.

Holly

When I saw the sketch on Sweet Sketch Wednesday I remember that I had a Floral Oval floating around my craft room that I hadn't used and I decided on making a white card. It also just so happened that the Penny Black Holly die arrived in my craftroom. I also used a Spellbinder Poinsettia die so I could hide the joins of the manipulated holly.
My new favourite Christmas sentiment from Simon Says Stamps from their Merry Trees stamp set haven't even looked at the trees yet.

Ok just realised my angle shot is up above well thats confused me this morning. I've counted up my Christmas cards I've another 35 to go that was bit of shock but I don't think I'll be making 35 of this one because of all those pearls.
It's been decided that I should move out of my Craftroom not just because we are hope to convert the outhouse but since Winter is coming and I was in and out due to the cold weather last year. So we've made a start, OMG 13 years of hoarding craft stuff that may come in handy means I've one heck of downsizing to do and worse still I'm going to have to be ruthless.
