Baby Fairy

Ok my bow should be higher but I so wanted to use the Cherry Lynne doily die and the Sweet Sketch Wednesday that means it had to be squashed at the bottom. It also hides the fact I've used the ribbon down the middle, edged with white scallop edges and the fact that there are two tessatina panels on either side.
Add the gorgeous Baby Fairy Flora from Mo Manning and you really didn't need anything else, not either a sentiment pretty obvious is a baby card. Oh and her fairy wings have been glamour dusted.
So I had a great day at the crop stuck some paper and photos on bits of card but never actually finished anything.
Then I was dragged almost kicking and screaming well definitely moaning to a football match at Hartley Witney. My BIL cleaning business KCS sponsors a football mainly made up with lifeguards and workers at Farnborough Leisure Centre. They started the season losing impressively in fact the team they played last night they lost 10-0 but somehow for their Sunday league they ended up in the Cup Final!  So it was felt that the KCS family should support the team but I would have much preferred staying warm in my Sisters living room while the boys went and watch football.
The team did really well, especially for their first season and only lost 3-1. Next year I'm going to make sure I bring my duvet to keep me warm.

Balloon bear

This is almost clean and simple for me, the sketch is from Sketch and Stash wasn't too sure on it at first but it worked a treat. The papers I think are My Minds Eye or they could be October Afternoon, or even Cosmo Cricket.
I used the cute Balloon Bear from LOTV and Lili's Little Fairies challenge this week is for transport, what do you reckon on balloons being a form of transport wouldn't recommend it though.
It going to be a short post cos I suddenley realised its an early start tomorrow being dropped off at my Sisters before going to the crop and I've moaned plenty of times of her slowest PC so I scheduling this late and I'm in need of my beauty sleep.

Spots and Stripes

We have a brilliant challenge this week at Penny Black Saturday Challenge Spots and Stripes and I knew this Puddy cat on the Washing line would be perfect.
Then I used the gorgeous papers from Doodlebug Hello Spring that was in my Simon Says Stamps parcel now I need the rest. Love the bright happy papers and  I used the dotty papers for the retro flowers and the scene just cried out for the picket fence using a punch from Martha Stewart.
Finished with some gingham ribbon and some faux brads.

Green

Ok that blue colour is suppose to be more Green since the colour pencils and card I used were Aquamarine. I have used three other green pencils on the leaves and the distress inkpads were Shabby Shutters and Peeled Paint. So hopefully I'm forgiven for my blue aquamarine and this is my entry to Less is More this week.
The stamp came from a large unmounted set that has poppies and germaniums on. I thought it would be a quick card but in the end there was quite a lot of cutting out. I do love how the leaves hang over the ribbon and of course I used a flatten bow but I'm not convinced its flat enough to go through normal post.

I do hope everyone going to Ally Pally this weekend have a great time but we've decided not to go.
It been quite a stressful time especially for Sister and we're going to a crop on Sunday. Saturdays at Ally Pally is no fun for me in a wheelchair and with a trolley ban there will be a lot of rucksacks trying to knock my head off!
And there will be times I just can't get near the stalls which is why I love going on Sundays much more relaxing and you get to actually enjoy shopping.

I loved her First

This was the post I planned for this morning but showed a card instead but still thought I would blog this today too. This is using the sketch for Scraplogy Scraplift challenge.

I've had to alter some of the placing of bow etc to work with the large rectangle picture but overall I love it.
The strips at the back is using a Martha Stewart punch anywhere punch and matching punch for the corner frame of the photo. I stitched round the circle although no obvious in the photo. Then it was a case of using the Grove branch (I think thats whats it called) from Memory box, the Magnolia Swirl, MFT flourish and the daisies are the Stampin up die from Sizzix. I also using the Stampin up big note die for the verse of the song from Heartland which is the song Father and Daughter danced too.
I couldn't believe how long this layout took.

This is a page that will be placed along side the one above so I've used the same papers which I know it called Happily Ever After but can't remember who from. Sorry that it looks a bit wishy washy it isn't in real life. But I used the same daisies and swirls only the corner is different.

A bit of Sunshine

I didn't think I would have a card for today wasn't feeling crafty after the meetings I've had this week but I felt better in the evenings and since the sketch on Totally Gorjuss was a nice simple one, with the help of Tilda who is also quick to layer the card came together quite quickly.
Yes I know its that Sizzix embossing folder again but  I couldn't help it and with a few bits of First Edition Boho Chic the card was made. I didn't think it needed flowers, it would've been a bit too much and especially with the flowers embossed in the oval which was dotted with a sakura soufflé pen.
Without going into too much detail but its been decided that my Mum needs 24 hour care because of the non responsive epidsodes, we are just waiting for some new tablets to see if they work which is doubtful. Then forms will be sent to confirm funding and it will be a case of waiting for a bed.
So you understand things are a bit stressful especially splitting up a married couple of over 50 yrs and convincing them that this is for the best.

Silver Wedding

No WOYWW this week my desk looks very much the same as always and I'm off to yet another meeting and if it anything like yesterday I came back with such a headache.
But I wanted to post a card I made last week but can't show it till today because my brother and his wife wouldn't have got it till today.
It was inspired by a card on Pinterest  here. Love my Sizzix embossing and I know the silver pearls aren't my idea my they do make a card special.
So Congratulations on your Silver Wedding Paul and Jayne and hope you have a lovely day out, but a bit advice don't take your phones!!!!!!

April Showers bring Spring Flowers

Sorry for the rubbish pic, I think I may have to find the card and have another try at photo-ing it. Well I pretty sure today is Wednesday and another challenge on Simon Says Stamps Challenge of April Showers bring Spring Flowers so I reckon thats quite a open challenge either images with umbrellas, flowers or both like I've done.

I used Basic Grey Plumeria and the cute Tilda is called Tilda in Spring Rain very apt for the challenge. Once again I've made rolled roses using the MFT die I've got the larger ones too but I'm never happy my result and it didn't help watching someone on TV large week quickly rolling one and it looking perfect before she even stuck glue on it. But it won't beat me, have dies and will practice till perfect or run out of paper!
I've also used MFT flourish which I always seem to cut the bottom off and use it else where on my card. The sentiment is from a Hero Arts clear set called All Occasions.

Spring

It's going to be a confusing week luckily I've remember its Tuesday so that means a new Everybody Art Challenge this week its Spring and if it wasn't for my plants trying to bud I would have thought it was Autumn it was blowing a gale and raining hard last night.

So my little bit of Spring is this cute Penny Black stamp with the ducklings and since they're a long stamp I've made a long card. I think the papers are Cosmo Cricket but don't hold me to that. Oh dear I seemed to have used that branch die again from Memory box with some tinky flowers made with a punch. There has to be a bit of ribbon and I felt it needed something in the other corner so that where the corner die came in handy.

Don't think I'll be crafting today I've a meeting to attend and I reckon I shall be feeling crossed and frustrated when its done not the best frame of mind to make cards but we will see.

More wedding

These are some pages I made last week didn't realised I hadn't blogged them. I've been taking in my netbook into my craftroom and had to move stuff around to put it in a safe place then I've used Pinterest to case layouts and finding sketches to help my mojo.
The sketch I found here you had to use small hearts but I either had a really small punch or a large one, I know I could of use the cricut but you all know how lazy I am. So I settled with the big heart and some stitching added pearls to the stitches.

I can't work out where I got the sketch from cos my layout went its own direction. Not sure on the papers either I think they're either Crate Paper or Glitz. I do know my branch die is from Memory box, my leaves are the Martha Stewart snowflake punch chopped up and I used the book shape nestabilities for my title. The cuttlebug corners were used to hide the glue fingerprints on one of the photos and one looked odd so thats why I've used two.

Mia the Teenage Fairy

 I'm going to have a problem which day of the week it is, today's feel like a Sunday but I pretty sure its Monday, let hope I don't forget my DT days!.
I love Mo's fairies and I love that this Fairy called Mia is ideal for teenage girls. Again I've used the Sweet sketch Wednesday but I've been naughty and turned it so I can't enter it but it works a treat for the fairy.
The papers are Echo Park Country Drive which I'm having to stretch out every last bit of it.
The border punch is EK success its one of favourites cos I can cut round it so that I can stick it on a contrasting colour. Finished with one of the retro flower punch.
I've been scrapbooking the last few days I was hoping to make quite a few pages but they seemed to take ages to put together just need to photo them.

Mother to Be

I'm lucky that my Sis and a couple of friend take my cards so I'm always on a look out for different occasion and of course when I saw Mo's Mother to Be I knew this would be perfect.
I pretty sure I've used a challenge sketch but I can't work whose and the papers are My Minds Eye. I really went to town with the embossing tool for her bump.
I didn't have a sentiment that said You leaving to have a baby but I found Ta Ta for Now on a Hero Arts clear set which I thought would work although not sure now. Bit worried its a bit simple.
Hope everyone is having a good Easter so far even though the weather is a bit pants here in the south east.

Case it - Helen

This week we're case-ing Helen's card that you can see above at Penny Black Saturday Challenge. I quite enjoying these challenges. I don't case it completly just using some of the elements that appeal to me.
You can see in my card below that I've distress the edges and I've used the same layout as Helen. Also I've used a slight larger ribbon than you usually see on my cards.
I've used a different image choosing a cute one and I haven't used the water Spitz technique that Helen has used on her flower image.

I had to have flowers somewhere and I'm still re-loving my woodware daisy punches and the sentiment is Penny Black but once again I've used a square punch to make my banner shape can't believe how easy this is and why didn't I do before.
 I then took issue with the top corners I couldn't cope with all that empty space so it called for my faux brads which is the 1/4 inch circle punch, embossed on the back to give a dome shape and just a dot of silicone glue underneath to stick and keep their shape.
We have a fab prize this week of a Penny Black sentiment stamp and a mini ribbon kit from The Ribbon Girl, so I do have you can join. Don't forget to check how the rest of the team cased Helen card.

Welcome Baby

A bit confused this morning thought I missed the Saturday Sketch deadline but of course this is Friday and not Saturday, I blame the fact I have both Hubby and DD home.
Finally got round to using another new, well new to me LOTV stamp isn't he so cute, not sure what papers I can use boy cards now cos this is the last of this First Edition pack.
I was tempted to mat the stars but decided against it and just used my heart embossing folder. With the busy paper I just used some faux brads and finished with a pretty border with a gingham ribbon well there had to be one somewhere.
Not sure whether to have a card making day or a scrapbooking day yet, need to warm up my craft room first though, a sharp frost this morning.

Cameo

It was while I was hunting for my daisy stamp the other week that I saw this stamp that I've had for a while from Butterfly Kisses. Recently I saw it had been re-released has a clear stamp for Hobby Art.
So I sort of paper pieced, I mean by sort of that I still layered the patterned paper so I still got dimension.
The papers are some I'm not keen on but they came from the same pack. I then used nestablilies to make the cameo shape behind her.
Had to use the Sizzix folder again with pearls love how this works, had to use corners again because I didn't like how the folder finished in the corner.
I'm going to pop this on the Papertake Weekly Challenge for their Anything Goes.

Less is more

Usually after a few days of thinking of the Less is More Challenge I have a lightbulb moment and everything fall into place not this time. I could easily make a card similar to what I've already done but that wouldn't be a challenge.
Has it is, my card is a bit basic. I had been thinking since the price of postage stamp is now expensive that I must make more of an effort to make more cards that fit through the normal post slot.
So the idea of the snow flake was born and then I layered it with dove grey and pink card, the snowflake by the way is Memory box.
Then it was to hunt out a silver inkpad for the Stampin Up sentiment and make the flat bow that I know can go through normal post. I so want to add a gem or pearl in the middle of the snowflake but that it would be large post.

WOYWW and Scrapbooking Wednesday

So this is what my desk looks like after scrapbooking this WOYWW actual fact it not too bad although maybe the worst bits you can't see.
I had to have a chuckle on one of my WOYWW posts someone commented on how we have large spiders where I lived, I thought the person had gone a bit mad till I realised its my cricut spider I had spare from Halloween, forgotten all about it him.
I've also managed some scrapbooking and a few more pages for my book of my nieces wedding, Ok I know the wedding was 2009 I'm a slow scrapbooker!

I love how this fell together, I've been collecting sketches over on Pinterest  and even though I missed out a square. The page is an 8 inch square and having received a parcel from Simon Says Stamps recently which had this branch stamp inside and it was on my desk, so I stamped in the corners and when I added the pearls I knew it was a perfect finish.

When I opened my Scrapbook tote I was surprised to see I started this layout and hadn't finished it. Took a while to get it to work spent a lot of time moving things around, still not particularly happy with it especially has I wanted the title to read Proud but had to make do with Pride.

Favourite

I've horrible feeling that the year is going to rush by cos its Wednesday already and it time for another challenge on Simon Says Stamps Challenge.

This week is use your favourite craft tool most of the team have used die or cutting machine in my case my favourite is my Big Shot, loved my Cuttlebug too but the Big Shot is a bit bigger so if your short of space the bug is ideal cos it closes on it self so easy to store.
On of the things I love about Mr Big Shot and the Bug is that they emboss beautifully so what didn't I include in my card. Nothing mind I used enough dies to make up for it. At the moment I've a bit of an obession with Memory Box dies.
I've used Wrought Iron Fence, Wrought Iron Gate and the Catalina Wreath. Also I used the MFT Die-namics Fancy Flourish and the Cuttlebug corner.
The papers are My Minds Eye Howdy Doody and a few roses out of my stash to finish. Oops forget Tilda she is Fancy Romantic Tilda.

Tulips

If only I had coloured this after the LIM challenge but I needed a more traditional Easter card rather than a cute one for MIL. This image is from Just Inklined and although I need to work out the leaves I'm pleased with the end result. My wishy washy sentiment isn't by the way not sure how it photo liked that.
The pic below is to show the dimension I got my layer the tulips and leaves.

Easter Bunny

Still need to get a bit more use out of those Easter bunnies images well the challenge over on Everybody Art Challenge is for Easter. I had to use this sweet High Hopes bunny and the layout just fell into place literally. I had two sheets of the Kaiser Candy Lane papers laying on my desk and the stripey paper was peeking out from the flower one and I thought it look brilliant so I just added a little strip of pink and the job was done. Well I needed to put a ribbon somewhere so I made a small scallop border, added a retro flower and then it was the Stampin Up sentiment.
Nearly forgot I embossed the centre with a cuttlebug daisy folder and then dotted the flower centres and the dots and of course every bunny needs a fluffy bobtail so I use a mixture of flower soft and fun flock.
