My Favourite Five Christmas Cards of 2011

Forgotten  how difficult this is, finally managed FIVE. The first one help start a bit of obession with the Magnolia Trees and I think possibly theres going to be lot more next year.
I love how this red post box works so well on the CAS card.
I love Mo's digi images and I love purple and the poinsettia die and love how easy it was to make a book card.

I love the traditional Penny Black stamp and even though the holly was fiddly it was well worth it.

Discovering how easy these side stepped cards I started to make quite a few and love these sweet snowpeople.
Do hope you can join me this year with your Five Favourite Christmas Cards and if you link your Post with Mr Linky there will be prize of  6 LOTV Christmas Stamps for a random winner.

The draw will be on 30th December so that on the 31st December My favourite cards of 2011 will be posted.
Sorry this challenge is now closed but on the 31st December it will be My Favourite cards of 2011

Hope you can join me from this Christmas Eve with your Favourite Christmas Cards and there will be a small prize for a random entry.

sunday sketch

Gosh didn't realise how difficult it is to get back to making non Christmas Cards sort of struggled to make this card. I've used the sketch from Sunday Sketch and Stamp.
The image is a cutie from Sylvia Zet and the papers are First Edition but I can't find the front cover anymore so not sure which one.
The swirl is MFT and I cut the end so the shape could stand up and I made a little pot for it so it looks like a plant but then it was floating so I put a bit of ribbon there even though I don't belive it is on the sketch but it does look better.
Now looking at it, its a bit plain nothing I can do about it now my room is full of the random craftstuff from around the house and I still don't have a somewhere to put my crop bag since the space it lives in has pictures from DS while he's flat is being decorated.
Well Hubby is at the supermarket getting the last of the food shopping and that is it, if we haven't got it we will have to manage without it!

Drama

You would of thought with all the drama of the Christmas Crackers that life may have returned to normal but then I decided to have a go with the Less is More Music challenge.
Now how could this simple card cause so much drama. I thought my Magnolia tree would look fabulous using the music stamp that had the words of a Christmas Carol behind it.
So first I looked in my two really useful boxes of stamps for it, can someone tell me why when you unpack stuff it never goes back the way it did and you end up with stuff that don't fit back in the box!
Maybe its with the other large background stamps that I have in tall chest of drawers in my craft room. First I have to move stuff thats in front of the lower drawers. By the time I had all of them out I realised that maybe I didn't have this stamp at all although I can see it so clearly in my head.
Oh yes eventually it dawned on me its not my stamp its my Sister's and although I've borrowed it in the past.
So I had to use a music embossing folder, sorry but its just not the way I imagined and I've remedy the fact I don't have a music back ground stamp!
Well I don't think this one will make top 3 but thanks LIM girls for picking my card the other week.

Dreamcatcher Ballerinas

Time for a change and bit of break from Christmas Cards, since my joints are not too happy with stamping, I've printed out quite a few of Mo Mannings digi images and these cute ballerinas called Two Tu-Tus which you can find in her old site.
I've used the sketch from Sketch Saturday and I replaced the mat in the sketch over the circle with the MFT swirl.
The papers are DreamCatcher from First Editon, the embossed swirls is Divine swirls from cuttlebug and it just wouldn't be my card if there wasn't a touch of ribbon.
I've enjoyed my time on Mo's Dream Team so much  they've asked me and my fellow guests to stay just don't tell the family cos I promised I wouldn't join any more teams but how could I resist the team really is a dream team.

WOYWW

So last year Kirstie made Christmas Crackers and by jove it looked nice and easy! So I struggled to find things to go in a loo roll, girls were OK but boys were a pain as usual. So this is what my WOYWW looked this morning, even brought snaps!
So where did it all go wrong, to start with I had an issue with the ribbon about 50yards fell of its reel, it did this to me on Sunday at the crop so I had already wound it back up once already. The paper didn't want to co-operate and wouldn't tie up. Eventually found a tutorial that said use good quality paper but obviously Marks and Spencers paper is far too good.  I finally managed to tie up one and the present inside fell out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Finally managed to make the eight I needed and by this time I was extremely stressed and as for decorating which should of been fun but all I wanted to do was finish them asap.
Will I do them again NO back to buying them from the Supermarket!!!!!!!!!!

Bingo

We're playing Bingo this week on Simon Says Stamps Challenge and as soon as I saw Mulitifold I knew I was going to make a Tri shutter card cos I haven't made one for ages. These Whiff of Joy Baking Santa and Quiet Santa were ready and waiting for such a perfect challenge.
I've followed the first line down so I've used gingham ribbon and the Martha Stewart Holly punch, also I've used Echo Park's Holly Jolly.

This post is becoming a bit picture heavy this is a close up of the Santas.

I've also used the Penny Black Joy Hope and Wonder stamp for the sentiment.

Close up of the individual Santas.

Now don't forget we have the amazing prize of
and if you need some inspiration check out the team.

Anything Goes

Our last Everybody Art Challenge of the year but don't worry we're be back on the 3rd January next year. A nice and easy challenge at a very busy time of the year is for Anything Goes and since I still had a couple more Christmas Cards and I hadn't used this gorgeous Sylvia Zet image yet so I had to make another Christmas card.
The papers are old and I think they're Dream Street, the snowflakes are MFT and lots of glitter and flowersoft to finish.
Whoops forgot the sentiment which of course is Craftwork cards and the picket fence punch.
Do hope you can join and don't forget to check out the amazing creations by the team.

Sweet Sketch Herald Harry

Can you believe how time is flying towards Christmas, this time next week it will all be over but I still have a couple of Christmas Cards to show yet. The first is another Mo Manning digi image Herald Harry unfortunately I can't find him on Mo's Website guess I've had him for quite a while then. He's found here thanks Wendy
I've used the sketch from Sweet Sketch Wednesday, I've kept it quite simple since Mr Mojo went south for Winter with just Martha Stewart Holly and a Craftwork sentiment not forgetting the quickutz corners.
I had a fabulous time at Scrapbuddies and have all the dates for next year written in my Diary, my only problem I was suppose to colouring in images and only managed a couple.

I'm Dreaming of a

White Christmas and a touch of red for Rudolphs nose, if you've participanted on this week Papertake Weekly Challenge you will know what I'm talking about since the challenge is your favourite colour for Christmas.
I love making white cards you just get all the dies and embossing folder and go for it. I realised now that the sketch is similar to the card I made for Friday for The Sketchy challenge although that wasn't my intention.
So I used a stitched diamonds from Craft concept, the stripes are Stamping up and the marianne tree with the snowflurries. Got to use the Catalina again reckon I can use or through the year so it won't be the last time to use it either. Santa is Whiff of Joy and the sentiment is Stamping up finished with a red ribbon. Phew hope I haven't forgotten anything.
Well the secret project is done, the presents are now wrapped and I finished my Cross Stitch project and today I'm off to Scrapbuddies for our last crop of this year.

Tag you it

So its to our last challenge of 2011 at Penny Black Saturday but don't worry we're be back on 7th January, the challenge is to make a tag. You probably know I don't make tags but there's nothing wrong with making a tag and putting it on a much needed Christmas Card.
I use one of my favourite mouse stamps and some nestabilities to make the actually tag and then stuck on a card that I used doodlebug papers and the snowflurries cuttlebug folder. Along with the icicle punch and the craftwork sentiment job done and its already in the post winging itself to the last of my card list.
We have super prize for a randomly choosen winner another of my favourite mice stamp and some gorgeous stickeroos.

But you have to enter first and if you need some inspiration check out the team.

Well the other secret project is nearly done just need to do the front cover and then I need to do a huge clean up of my room, I'm so not a tidy crafter.

The Sketchy challenge

Yes I know it another Chrsitmas card but I begining to see the end but I'm not doing this next year I'm going to start earlier. So helping me are the sketch challenges and this latest The Sketchy Challenges  and when I saw it I knew it would work as a nearly all white card.
I used the fabulous Catalina wreath die from memory box, the Penny Black sentiment and the cute robins are also Penny Black. I also used the Martha Stewart lattice punch and the Icicle border but promptly put a Marianne tree in the corner and a bow in the other and the border disappeared.
So this went straight in the post and hopefully now received.
At last I've done with shopping its now down to Hubby to get the last bits at the supermarket next week, my job is to tidy round the house of craftstuff and return to somewhere in my tiny craftroom.

Let is snow

Now you may be thinking this can't be my Less is More Let it Snow card but this is what it would look like if it wasn't one layer. There is something in my head that CAS like this need to be framed with a piece of matching coloured card.

So this is my Less is More entry, the stamps are Inkadinkado but from different sets. The sentiment is from Christmas Silhouettes and the snowflake is from the snowflake a plenty set.
Just a gem for the centre finished the entry and added some navy pearls for the one above.

Blog Hopping

It's Blog Hopping at Mo's Dream Team can't believe I have only two more weeks left of my GDT and I've loved every minute.
Anyway Kerttu chose theme of Non Tradition Christmas colours so what better than Pink and Blue and since I adore Mo's Ragged Angel I just had to use her again, don't think I'll be able to wait till next Christmas to use her again.
The papers are Doodle bug, the snowflakes are Kars punches, the sentiment is a Woodware stamp and had to finish with a bit of ribbon.
Now back to the Blog Hop you should of arrived here from Julie
and from me you need to pop over to  Heidy

Don't forget to comment on everyones' blog to be in for a chance to win a voucher to spend at Mo Digital Stamps.

18th Birthday

Pretty certain my nephew doesn't check out my blog so I feel it will be OK to show his card I made for him. He is the last of nephew to reach their coming of age birthday, the children in my family are now Great nephew and nieces gosh that makes me feel OLD.
Anyway back to the card of course I had to Mo Manning's Video Boy knew it would be perfect. I've used the First Edition New Leap and the 18 was cut out using the cricut.
But now I stuck with embellishment so I settled for some circles and brown twine with some faux brads.
No WOYWW this week but I leave you with the last rose from our garden, hubby put the garden to bed for the winter and gave me this little bud.

Dress Up Marci

Can't believe its another Wednesday already and that must mean it time for another Simon Says Stamps Challenge.  This week is a sketch from Domi do pop over to the challenge blog to see it and don't forget to check out the team.
Now I've been saving Dress Up Marci from La La Stamps because I knew this challenge was going to be soon and I've coloured her to match the Picadilly papers from Basic Grey. At first I wasn't sure the papers worked but now I love it and the Prima flowers are a perfect finish. Oh yes I have to use punch somewhere so that the Martha Stewart deep edge lattice punch but I cut two and joined them.

Also don't forget the fabulous prize for a lucky winner.

Thank you for all the lovely comments about my weight loss I really appreciate them.
