Sweet Sarah Kay

Gosh it's hard to get back to card making but I think this is back to normal. The cute image is of course Sarah Kay and the papers are Kaiser.
I've used the sketch from Friday Sketch challenge although the sketch isn't for a square card I have made is so fairly easy.
EK success retro flower flower punch and the fab MFT swirl die its not out of my system yet. I copied the way one of the DT did with the sentiment which in my case is High Hopes, I've also had to pop it over on the other side of the card than the sketch because I thought it fitted better.
Well I had a fabulous day at Scrapbuddies Crop and Mychett Community Centre, Janet was doing the free class of a double layout which has two snowmen on, mine look quite scary but you will have to wait till its finished before I'll be showing it off on my blog.

Hearts

Remember I had an idea for a heart card and then found out the Less is More Heart challenge was for one layer well this is sort of it. In my mind there was a lot more flowers but the card did sort of go the way of CAS.
The heart shaped was cut in silhoutte on the cricut and then I realised I loved the idea of using the the heart shaped it cut out in the middle and  run it through the bug using the Swiss Dots embossing folder.
It was only when I loaded the card blogger that I realised that I had done a pretty job of lineing up the embossed hearts er NO it was pure chance how lucky was that.
Also lucky for me that Papertake Weekly have a challenge that includes shapes so that the square, the heart and the elongated oval with the Woodware sentiment.
Quite like how it turned simple and pretty.

On the Move

We have a fabulous challenge this week on Penny Black Saturday Challenge this week It's on the Move. I love this Penny Black Bear Stamp called Fly with me.
I wanted to use the Miss Nelly papers from Kaiser not sure if they're a bit too busy and the swirls are from MFT love how delicate it is and the fact I chop the end off and use it at the other end of the flowers which off course is EK Sucess and the dinky ones are an old do-crafts one.

My pain in my side is still causing me grief and not sure how I'm going to be able to pack for Scrapbuddies Crop tomorrow but my somehow I shall manage.

Cheating Hearts

While I've been trying to catch up on blog hopping I noticed there are quite a few Less is More Heart cards going around and in my head I thought of a card I could make. Then I noticed that all these cards had one thing in common, they were flat.
So I checked out the challenge blog and yes its One Layer card week so that put paid to my idea. I wanted to make a least one card yesterday and I couldn't think of a heart stamp to use (I probably do have some). So while checking out my stamp drawers these little Penny Black critters were sitting on the top of the pile and I could see hearts even though they're tiny ones.
A quick and easy card was made although I was hyperventalating while colouring in case I would go over the lines even slightly cos that would mean it the card would find itself in the bin.
The sentiment is Hobby Art and I've worked out you stamp it before you colour cos if the sentiment stamp goes belly up you haven't taken time to colour the image yet.

Birthday Candy

No card today still haven't cleared up my desk but I have sorted out a bit of candy since my Birthday is coming up soon. Also even though I started a blog in the July 2006 I really didn't blog that regularly till the Autumn of 2006 when my DD went to work at Walt Disney World so really its also to celebrate 5 years of blogging.

No space to Craft

Well I back from my Hols in Spain where I had a fabulous time but I was right I need another week to get over it especially as I seemed to have pulled a muscle in my side. Which means I haven't felt like tidy up my desk, this is what it looks like for WOYWW.
Before I left I cleared the dining room table and the living room of all my overflow craft stuff  and put it on my desk in my craftroom. So before I can make a card I need to motivate myself to sort out these piles.
I'm not confessing for checking out new stamps that may be on their way or the cardstock I couldn't get at Ally Pally which has now be ordered but I also I ordered Hubbys Birthday present which isn't crafty at all!

Simon Says Halloween

I have another Halloween challenge this week this time its Simon Says Stamps Challenge any excuse to use the Penny Black Dressed to scare stamp.

It was also the perfect excuse to get out the Martha Stewart Cracks Punch around the Page, using the 31st October Fancy Pants papers.
I also used Martha Stewart Picket Fence border punch there is also a scary fence you can buy but I prefer this one cos I can use it all the year round.
Then I just added the already cut out spiders and bats.

Now don't forget this prize it up for grabs but you have to be in it to win and do check out the fabulous team who have made some wonderful creations.

EAC Halloween

Just in case we got in late I'm scheduling this post but I should be back to normal next week ! I probably need a holiday to get over the holiday.
Anyway its Everybody Art Challenge, remember those spiders and bats from WOYWW couple of weeks ago now you know why I need them, we're have a Halloween challenge.
We don't do Halloween so much here in the UK but who could resist these Penny Black Hedgies well not me.
I've made a frame card and the Hedgies and flying up with the bats, the papers are Fancy Pants.
What I love about halloween cards I get to play with googling eyes.

Blue trees

By now you must of guessed that I'm away but we fly back today several pounds heavily since I'm planning a diet holiday too.
So for today a couple of  clean and simple cards. The first one well I feel guilty that you can call it handmade. I stamped the Penny Black Trees with a blue pigment pad then used holographic embossing powder, or course the camera doesn't pick up the sparkle. I then used my favourite sentiment stamps at the moment from Stampin Up with almost matching dye inkpad.

The second one I used a Craft Concept embossing folder which if you carefully match up you can make a square. The stamp is Penny Black and again I used Holographic embossing powder and some peel off in blue colour, yes they're blue not gold or whatever the camera or photoshop think they are!
The sentiment is a Woodware one.

Pink and Blue Christmas

Well this started off as a Sugar Bowl sketch and then it just didn't happen but its still cute and its another one for the Christmas box.
I think its going to be a Fariy Christmas with this adorable fairy from Sugar Nellie and since I found these papers it only seem right to use them again. Once again I used flock on the cuffs and she been glitternized on her wings.
How would I manage with those Craftwork cards sentiment and when I get back from my hols I will be making sure I have plenty of them.

Happy 21st Birthday Natalie

Its Natalie my team-mate on Penny Black Saturday Challenge 21st Birthday and we celebrating over on Penny Black Saturday Challenge with the Key to the Door is what we call the coming of age Birthday then they dropped the age to 18 and it all got confusing!
So for this weeks challenge we're looking for numbers on your card.
I choose to make another side step card now that I've found that they're so easy you will probably see more.
The papers are First Edition and I dusted off my doily punch and used my cricut for cutting out the numbers and of course I used Penny Black Hedgie called A winner.

Oldie but Goodie

Oh this little darling is one of my favourites, design by Elizabeth Bell and this is the original stamp from Sugar Nellie I believe no longer available, not sure if you can get her as a digi or another stamp store is making her now.
The papers are Nitwits, I print them out in quick print in hope I'm not using to much ink my printer is a bit of an ink guzzler.
This is last week sketch for Papertake Weekly obviously missed posting this card and I've missed their birthday too can't believe its 4 years but I've been blogging for 5 year how scary is that.
What I love about Christmas Cards you don't have to think too much in this case I just need snowflakes and lots of them, my icicle punch, gems and lots of glitter.

The Apprentice

Isn't she cute and so easy to colours and a decent size for me to layer her. She's called The Apprentice from Sugar Nellie never sure whether so Sugar Nellie or whether Funky Kits the actual store you can buy her from but nevertheless she is adorable.
I have no idea who made the papers from them in my Christmas paper box and the snowflakes are Martha Stewart still working after all the hard work last year, along with my icicle border punch.
I've used fun flock on the cuffs etc and stickles on her wings and wand of course the camera hasn't picked this up well
Not sure whose the sketch from but I think it could be last week Stamp with Fun.

Sparkling Snoopy

It's Sparkle and Bling Challenge this week on Simon Says Stamps Challenge and the team are showcasing HM stamps but although I love these cute stamps I don't seem to be able to do them justice so I decided to use a Snoopy who is made by Stampabilities the same manufacture.
I actually thought the tennis ace would be ideal for my tennis mad son but he's got a dodgy knee and hasn't been able to play for months so I didn't use him for his birthday.
So this was the perfect opportunity.

 You don't have to use HM or Snoopy stamps to enter the challenge but if fancy a little bit of shopping do check out the Simon Says Stamps Store.
I've also used First Editions Summer Breeze and I made the tennis net by punch out two Martha Stewart garden trellis punch, cutting off the scallop bit and then joined them together.
Another handy die to have is the MFT clouds and I've used them quite a lot recently and this time I faux stitched round them, then I had to faux stitch all the mats too.
Now you might be wondering where the sparkle and bling is, well I stickled the racket and the swing, yes I know its a bit of cheat but if a DT member can do (me) so can you but don't tell the boss!

EAC sketch

We have fabulous sketch this week on Everybody Art Challenge, I've used the last of my Springtime papers from Echo Park, whoops tell a lie, its the last of the 6inch pack, I also brought it in 12 by 12 too.
The cute image is from Penny Black and the flowers are EK Succes except the tiny ones which is in fact a do-crafts one that I've had for ages.
Do I spy the deep edge doily punch from Martha Stewart going round my circle mat.

Stampin Up Christmas

I saw this style of card at Newbury Artstamp show on the Stampin Up stand, my sister admired so much so she brought the stamp from our Friend Nikki. Brilliant I thought I can borrow it but then Nikki did a fab layout using it and I decided it would be no good at my Sis's house when I'm at home scrapbooking so I got one too.
Not too impress with my stamping but I think its because it a new stamp and they get better with age well thats my excuse and I sticking with it.
Although you can't see it that well I have a EK success dotty circle punch that I've used in the centre another Nikki's idea and with my flat bow this card will go through normal post so thats an added bonus.

Sweet Sketch Snowman

Yes I know its another Christmas card but I have a few more to make this year and I'm using every opportunity to make some.
This time I'm using an old High Hopes snowman isn't he fab, not do sure on the First Edition christmas papers they look dirty to me but I've brought a whole pack and they have to be used now.
I've used this week Sweet Sketch Wednesday wasn't too sure on it but I think it worked but wish now I used green faux brads. Loving my Martha Stewart Holly punch, I think you will be seeing lots of it, not sure what happened to my stickles they seemed to have gone a bit odd looking but that could be the camera.

Down on the farm

I do love this Penny Black Cow and all the girls and this weeks Penny Black Saturday Challenge of Down on the Farm means I had the perfect excuse to use it.
The papers are My Minds Eye and with some raffia to make it a bit more rustic, just added some flowers to finish.

Hoping those in the UK are making the most of our Summer even if its a bit late, I know my DS is and the fact that DD is home too means I'm glad I'm not home today. They have a bit of a love/hate relationship and I gave up years ago telling them to be nice to each other.

Less is More

When I saw the sketch on Less is More and I knew I had a few stamps that was made for it but they're actually in a box of Christmas stamps that has been put away and I had planned to get Hubby to get them when it was October which will be tomorrow a bit late for the challenge
But some stamps are in boxes by who makes them and that includes High Hopes and I thought this Snowman could be the answer. Of course there was no way he was going to be flat and I used stitched diamond embossing folder which you can match together to emboss a square ( I really wanted to used the candy cane stripes but obviously in safe place)
I stamped the stampin up sentiment before I embossed the card. Overall I please how this card turned out, now I just need to be able to photo it nicely.
