Spring Challenge

I so wanted to make something other than a card for the Tilda and Co Spring challenge. Something amazing like Andrea and Lyn made for the wishing you well challenge and Annie's sour cream cartons for the spring challenge. So I made this pillow box using a template from Mirkwood templates and imaginesce card. Made a little label and a Tilda then tried to buy some mini eggs which proved impossible so had to send DH out to get some, couple of supermarkets later I was able to photo my pillow box with chocolate eggs. Have to report we're all out of mini eggs again having ate them all.
Now my DH is very disappointed I didn't use the word enough but really doesn't everyone know you simply can't have enough craft stuff. Anyhow DS mentions how embarrassing I am and a page was born. This pic was taken in Orlando in a Disney Gift shop where the Pirates of the Caribbean was everywhere.
I used Rusty Pickle Pirate Princesses and cuttlekids skull and crossbones the title embarrassing was cut with the cricut George cartridge and the the headstone (well thats what I'm calling it) hides the journalling.
Thank you for all the congratulations for yesterday, we had a lovely day including to manage a visit to a craft shop The Glitter Pot where I was in stamp heaven and didn't know what to choose too much choice. I picked up a little whipper snapper Ballerina and a Monkey and I fell in love with a large Penny Black Bunny with a bonnet. Also some ribbons and some yummy papers too so I was a happy bunny too.

Pearl

So what were you doing 30 years ago today, well this is what I was doing. Where have all those years gone and please don't ask how we 've kept our marriage alive cos I haven't a clue. There's been many ups and downs, even some really bad downs and it must be really hard for DH to put up with my health probs but here we are.

Maybe this ATC is to wish us both luck for next 30 years but really its to wish good luck to the new challenge blog Tilda and Friends ATC challenge. I've only made a couple atc, they are so tiny and usually very arty, don't get me wrong I love arty only wish I could do arty. Has you can see you have to use at least one Magnolia's stamp and something sparkly, I would advise that those toadstools are not for eating even though they look cute enough to eat.

Suprise

So this is my surpise cards for Fran, which turned out more of suprise seeing as I forgot to sign it. Now what makes you think I've got some new stamps from Magnolia, maybe trying to use them all on one card was pushing it a bit. Magnolia has some new ones which there is no doubt I want them. Back to Fran's card still using imaginesce papers, which I used for the dress too, still getting use to the pencils and depths of colours.

Struggling with photography again but this is for UKS weekly challenge, you had to use purple, ribbon, either 29 of something or 2 and 9 of something, I've use 9 chipboard buttons and two different ribbons and something metal or sparkly so thats the metal corner and brad. There was suppose to be a water theme but having choosen the photo that theme wasn't going to work but it was only 5 points so I can live without them. I used Elsie Toby papers that I've been sitting on for ages, you might see more of it now I've cut into them.

Di's sketch #4

So this Di Hickman sketch #4 I wanted to do something other than a flower and this cat was on top of a stamp I wanted so I wondered how he would colour in with the prisms, not too bad, used a new cuttlebug embossing folder with some chalks highlighting the embossing, K& co Hopscotch which I love at the moment.
Di also does scapbooking sketches I used her February one for this layout, WRM papers and cricut cut title. Sis mentioned I haven't done any J layouts lately so hope this makes up for it.
Glad to hear Fran received my card, she even knew it was from me before I e-mailed her.

What no Tilda's

So that sneaky lot over DCM challenge issued the challenge for feminine card with out using Tilda's, Sugar Nellie's and Bella's. I've used a stamp I've had for a while from the Simpy Friends stamps, used two scoops and left it quite simple although my camera isn't at all happy with checks.
So imagine the scene you're sitting watching a bit of telly relaxing with a glass of wine when you suddenly realise you've done something really stupid. I've made a thank you card, nice white paper insert for the message, few bits of ribbon in a envelope, pop the address on the front, rip off the backing of the sticky bit, close the envelope and just catch the Postman. So what had I forgotten, to write the message so someone is receiving a card with ribbon in it with no clue who sent it!!!!! Maybe eccentric was right after all.
Thanks for the ideas for my a-z journal my OH though Enough (LOL) was the right one thanks Fran but I know what I've decided now to put it to paper.

lilac & lemon

This for the challenge on UK stampers blog, using lilac and lemon colours. I've made another card but that will be leaving hopefully in the post today for someone who reads my blog, really pleased how it turned out. Check out the DCM their challenge today, talk about sneaky no magnolia, sugar nellies or bellas to be used but a feminine stamp.
I also need help for my a-z journal book of me, the next letter is E and I can only think of eccentric which I honesty doesn' t describe me!

Mum's Recipe

Two buttons, one ribbon and a 'spoonful' of flowers.....! Put all the ingredients together and bake in a craft room until complete ! Now the boot was brought from the make it show and was a acylic stamp I think from the fourth dimension she was showing how th make a collage of flowers onto the boot, I tried but it really did look awful so I settled into making the dinky flowers that I learned at a quilling class.
Now SBS8 have a challenge and its a sketch from CPS, used K& Co papers and not forgetting Tilda.
I've been really good have found some soppy verses for Mother's Day and sorted out the inserts and they're ready to go, plus some new Anniversary words for those cards too. The best sites I go to our imag-e-nation and verseit there was a couple more but I noticed they no longer working.

Sketches

I'm really disappointed with the photo its much better in real life, this is for the Ismaki sketch 8. The papers are making memories, the corner and word stamp are from a Scrapagogo kit, Tilda was paper pieced for the card below then I didn't like so I couldn't waste it. The tiny flowers was a punch and backed co-ordinating paper, nearly didn't put the ribbon on but when you make a bow and its turns out perfect you have to use it somewhere.
When I discovered that this Tilda went with Tough Edwin, I have waited patiently for it to arrive in the few stores that stock magnolias but I kept missing out so I ordered from Magnolia themselves. My fingers hurt where they've been crossed so hard but they arrived super quick just over a week and I had to used him and although they take longer I'm getting some nice results with my prismacolours. So I've used the magnolia couple using the sketch from Nicola of My Paper World papers are chatterbox and flowers by prima.
So exciting day for me I have wait in for the Plummer and a Glazer.

Wishing you well

This is for the challenge on Tilda & Co and thanks to Fran for the image, also Katharina for the idea of popping the ribbon through card. Lovely imaginesce papers and I coloured him in with Prismacolour pencils, still need to get used to the colours and to be careful in small areas because the colours become really strong.

I've booked for the first Scrap-a-ganza in the UK at Stratford in June and it sounds like quite a few of the girls from the crop are going too but will have to wait to confirm who at the next crop.

Happy Rudolph Day

Yes its come around again and thanks to Josieanne on UKS I have some Snowbellas to use this time with some DCWV papers the tags are from Clevercut. I'm also covered in glitter dust, now I know I prefer it to the stickles but really I do get it every where.
Now this little gem is thanks to Scrapdolly and if you use the link on her name it will take you to her blog where the instructions are, while you are there check out what she has made for DCM challenge recycle plastic. The CD holder would actually be ideal for Mothers Day, which if you're in the UK its on Sunday. I have almost copied Scrapdolly's except from the papers which I have used 3 bugs.

And FairyKaren I'm waiting for my OH to take it to the PO cos its needs weighing it might be quicker for me to give to you at the crop!

Blogging forever

This is my DCM challenge card and testimony to all whats good about crafty blogs. First a challenge blogs like DCM making you try things you wouldn't try like recycle Plastic!
On my travels through blogland someone mentioned ( can't remember which blog so if it was you thank you) the plastic wrapper on the new cuttlebug folders now we all know I've some of them, then Marlou guest designer on DCM this week wrote that she used her cuttlebug embossing folders on the plastic, so I've done that too. All of the blogs showing off their wonderful creations using nestabilities, so had to get some. Lastly many thanks to Isa and her wonderful tutorial on Prisamcolour pencils, I was ready to scream because I couldn't colour as well as I watercoloured and I've warned you all about my patience. So here's my first Tilda using prismscolours that didn't end up in the bin. Now this little pink darling is for the Sugar Nellie Pink challenge, using DCWV papers, may be a bit late with this one.

A card and scrapping too

So this is Di Hickman Feb#3 challenge, I've used the blog candy I got a while ago from Sheila Manicstamper the making memorys blossom and brads have been in their box, hanging on a hook looking pretty for a while now but I've broken into them so be prepared to see them again, the papers are K & Co again from Sheila. Also Sheila is auctioning some of her stamps if you win you donate to the Ellie Wiseman fund, I've won the most gorgeous Chinese Lady stamp but at the moment I think there is some Christmas Grab Bags. So onto Scrapping this is a LO for the weeky challenge on UKS,
Song title from sound track of Saturday Night Fever or Grease as LO title - Two photos - Something shiney - To use white on LO
Finding song title was hard but finally decided on We go together from Grease, obvious two photos, shiny brads and white cardstock. The papers are October Afternoon left over from my Debby page last week and the stitching was using bazzill stitching thingy that I got from a Scrapagogo kit. I also used a pagemap sketch, not quite the same but certainly starts the ball rolling.

Tilda and String!

So this weeks challenge on Tilda & Co is to use string, so I asked OH for some string. Nope he hasn't got any and the only bit of string I've got and was staring at me all week is a bit string that runs from two hooks that hold my kitchen roll in my craft room, I'm such a messy crafter the kitchen roll is an essential piece of equipment. Finally found a rough piece of string but what do I do with it now. There on my desk was a rub on lolly stick so using the cropadile made a swing probably not very orginal but the best I could do. I've used DCWV papers and some flowers from my stash. Notice the plain blue card with embossed spots, thats because my new embossing folders have arrived.

Oranges and Lemons

Sorry I'm a bit late this morning but my antiviruis thingy demanded to be run because it found a nasty virus and the PC goes slow when this is running and PATIENCE is not my thing.
Had a day yesterday where most of what I tried to do went in the bin, I've lost count how many times I tried to make this duck, either I smudged it or it looked messy but eventually I pleased with this one and I've finally cut into the gorgeous imaginisce card that I've been stroking for weeks. This is for the DCM little extra which is to use orange and lemon, the ribbon I copied from Fran's card that she sent me.
Gwen my SBS8 sister has awarded me an Excellent blog Award, thanks Gwen, love your blog too. There is so many excellent blogs out there to many to name and they're the reason I spend far too much time on this PC.

Ismaki challenge #7

I love Ismaki challenge, why because there's a sketch involved. I used stampendous stamps that Francoise Read designed, used a silver pigment pad and pearlescent silver embossing powder, then they were coloured in with Artquest pearsclent watercolour paints. I used a cuttlebug folder to emboss the middle panel but I don't think I needed to bother.
It's very quiet on the home front, DD is back working as an Assistant Manager at the pub she used to work at (she needed the money, they needed someone reliable) no craft parcels for me although I have to thank Samm for the link to Magnolia stamp club, this would be fine but I had already placed an order with them, fingers crossed they arrive with no probs. Thinking about it still waiting for my new cuttlebug folders from Craft U Love.

Katharina's Sketch

Over on Katharina's blog she is celebrating her 10 000 hits with a challenge which is a sketch, exactly I don't need say anything more. Although the orginal card had a different flower, changed the flower now I'm happy. I used Daisy bucket papers which are so great for card making. Embossed the panel and used some chalk inks to make it co-ordinate with the papers.

Now I've been tagged by one of my SBS8 Julie.

Link to the person that tagged you and post the rules on your blog.
Share 7 random and/or weird facts about yourself on your blog, we all want to know them.

Closer look at Debby

A closer look at D - Debby, DD wasn't impressed with the crown on the last page cos it is so not me but something she would do and she had an eye on those Heidi Swapp crowns.
I think you can click on the pic to make the larger.

A-Z Journal

This is what I've been working on the last couple of days. I have seen some word books and thought I will try to make my own, now if I had a cricut expression instead of the baby cricut this would have been so much easier but I had to make do with the circles and ovals from creative memories shapes to make the template. I was half an inch out which is why I have a back page the correct size. The papers are October Afternoon and it took much longer than I bargained for, because it was like a journal all by itself. I have now decided that this A-Z journal will have rings to hold it together because no matter how I try to keep the embellishments flat, its still going to be one fat book.

Di Hickman Feb#2

Well I've had the most awful job trying to photo this card, luckily this is the best of the last lot. The flower stamp-stampin up, labels-stamps away, cuttlebug embossing folder, backing paper out of the stack of papers from Fran and I copy the ribbon idea from Di's sample for her sketch.

Just wanted to say thank you for all the amazing comments I've received lately. I really do enjoy checking back to your blogs.

Ismaki No 6

This is Ismaki sketch 6, I had to leave the text out on the left simply because it would be too much and the ribbon replaces the strip behind oval. Fran's card inspired me to get out those fabulous embossing folders out, the stamps are stamps away from Clevercut. I love DCWV card stacks, with the white core hoping to get some more this weekend. We are visiting my MIL bit of a flying visit but will certainly have a chance to pop into The Range.
