Christmas Pudding

Now there's me thinking she is holding a Christmas Pudding but she is called Fruit Cake!

Another Mo image that I own but only recently coloured and pefect to make another Christmas card with. The holly is a Simon says Stamp Holly die, they are various sizes and even though he come with berry die I much prefer to use my red pearls that I seemed to buy in bulk.

A stitched rectangle to give a border to all the white although I did blend a bit round the edges to stop it looking too stark against the traditional colours. I think the border die is Lawn Fawn and the papers are Photo Play.

Artic Penguins

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge
Thank you for joining us last week and we hope you will all join us again this week too.
This week the challenge is Anything Goes
We are showcasing Altenew this week, which just so happens to be Simon says Stamp Brand of the Month. You don’t have to use them to join in but if you have some we would love to see them used.
As you may know, the  Simon Says Stamp Store is accepting new orders, but have longer shipping times for the moment due to the coronavirus. With this in mind we have made the difficult decision to suspend the $50 voucher for this challenge.

We know that many people are staying safe at home and we would love it if you would continue to enter the challenges and have fun! We are all in this together!

I had got something from Simon says Stamps for this challenge, I picked it because there was plenty in stock but to be honest it wasn't really me, So I hunted in my Mama Elephant stamp box there was few and discovered that SSS still has this marvellous Artic Penguins still in stock not sure how many but a idea immediately popped into my head.

A few weeks ago there was a sketch on CAS(e) this sketch where there was three squares on the bottom so why not have penguins instead.

First though I gave them some ice to stand on don't want floating penquins. I coloured them roughly and used Glossy Accents to make them shiny (don't look too close on the bigger bit it cracked when sticking them down.) The penguins were easy to make it was the fussy cutting that was tricky bit.

Oh forgot to say I cut the Simon says Stamp Wonky Rectangle before I did anything to give a finishing edge. I stamped the sentiment direct to the card and it came out first time, go me. The sentiment by the way is from Simon says Stamp Inside Christmas Greetings.

Bunny Love

Once again I'm late for the Freshly Made Sketch, anyway I sort of cheated a bit. The circle is my Lily of Valley Bunny digi.
An old fence die from MFT for the line that runs behind the circle but I added the sentiment in a Simon says Stamp Stitched Banner, I don't trust myself to stamp direct to paper. I also used the Simon says Stamp Stitched Rectangles to give definition to all the white space.

I'm looking forward to the Lily of Valley Boys release coming soon, have loads of mens cards to make due to the fact there are more men than women in my family. I do hope I get to hug them all soon.

Football Crazy

Another Birthday card this time for a 7 year old boy and I thought this fab LOTV digi image would be perfect. Since I have to print several images to make all the layers it was easy to colour some extra footballs to make embellishments

The actual design was a card on Pinterest with another image and the banners were smaller I could've made my own but why bother when I have Simon says Stamp Tiny Words and some Stitched Banner dies. I did use a 1/4 inch punch for my little circle that I added to them.

The fence is an old MFT die and the circle banner is using some filmsy circle dies that are also old and the company is now no more. I've a sneaky feeling the paper is a Christmas one.

For Grumps

Here's a card I made for my BIL, hopefully it did arrive. I used the online service with Royal Mail and we have seen the RM van go to the post box and I sent it in plenty of time.

Its with an old Woodware clear stamp just stamped onto different colour papers and fussy cut out. Edged with matching papers.

I received some lovely kind words, I'll keep making cards but I really need to make what I want and not the other way round.

Match Girl

This month I've seen to use some new stamps and today I decided to use the Match girl while not a new stamp recently but one I don't think I coloured up yet. Obviously I've coloured it now using traditional Christmas Colours.

The paper is Photo Play I think from last year left over and the poinsettias are Simon says Stamp and my golden stars are Memory Box. I think the border is a Lawn Fawn one but don't hold me to that.

I'm sorry I've been missing I just felt trying to make cards for my blog, DT etc was making me feel I was in competition against awesome creative cardmakers. I still feel that but I've decided I've got to make cards I want to whether for my blog which was always for myself to record what I make. I gave myself a week off which in the end my shoulder played up so I had to rest that up for a few days anyway. I have a few cards in my drafts and maybe tomorrow after my Slimming World online meeting colour up some more images.

I used Altenew New Beginings well one of the set and randomly stamped the image to make a background.

I stamped the butterflies from the Simon says Stamp Moments of Grace into the gaps trying not to stamp to many. Their Wonky Rectangles die for the sentiment box which I used Thinking of You die which I used with gold card.

Finally I used the Adeline Butterfly die with the dotty paper which is My Favourite Things Black & White dots.

Knock on wood

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge
Thank you for joining us last week and we hope you will all join us again this week too.
This week the challenge is Knock on WOOD
We are showcasing Tim Holtz this week, which just so happens to be Simon says Stamp Brand of the Month.

I was going to cheat and use already Woodgrain card from Simon say Stamp, in hindsight I should of done that instead of the Lumber 3d Texture from Tim Holtz because I think I may have got my bigshot plates wrong.

The cardstock I used was Kraft card to give me a brown base colour and used a selection of oxides.

I cut out the Wildflower Stems 1 and 2 doubling up on a few I liked or to fill a gap and had enough to make two cards. I was going to colour but I thought I would keep to white because I love leaving flowers white.

Once the flowers were stuck in place I used the Simon says Stamp Big Thanks and their Big Happy Shadow for the second card, which I finished of with Tiny Words Birthday.

Time to Party

Like I said previously my scrapbooking mojo definitely flown away somewhere. Not sure what I could do to rescue it. So I'm just walking away.

The photo was taken at Coppice Beech Hotel Bracknell where we stayed overnight to celebrate my niece's Hen Do. Last week I posted when we celebrated, this photo was taken before we got started.

Crochet Update

I have made a couple of cards but they are for are for family birthdays. I do have this small blanket I've finished. It's called The Sunshine Mandala Blanket and I've made the smaller size, mainly because of was running out of the colours.

I made it look like its a stash blanket, it was really but not in the true sense. I found some colours I had a few balls of and repeating the same colours till I ran out.

I now having a go and a couple of Amigurumi toys before I start another blanket which will be Helen Shrimpton Arcadia but in Ineke' colours.
With the warmer weather I need something not complicated to sit in the garden with and I may make a scarf for a Christmas present probably another Lost in Time.

Hunny Bear

I thought I posted this chap but he was in my drafts so I think he hasn't been posted. He is from Mo Manning called Honey obviously.

I can't think where I got the sketch possibly just looking through my Cards Sketches Board on Pinterest. The bees are a stamp from Simon says Stamp but is now retired.

The papers I believe are Christmas ones from Reverse Confetti.

I finding it really scary that some people are not following the rules for Social Distancing especially people without underlying health problems are dying some in their twenties. Both hubby have health issues maybe not the really vulnerable nonetheless we don't want to become a statistic.

Spring Trees

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge
Thank you for joining us last week and we hope you will all join us again this week too.
This week the challenge is Spring Mood Board

 Spring Mood Board

We are showcasing Hello Bluebird this week, which just so happens to be Simon says Stamp Brand of the Month.

I had fun making this card, first off I made the cloud background using a bit of acetate that I had drawn round some cloud diecuts trust me its a lot easier if you have a cloud stencil which to my horror I don't have!

My trees are Hello Bluebird Birch Trees which the tiny leaves came with it. The flowers are Simon says Stamp Mini Flowers and Leaves dies, so I made the trees look like the blossom on our trees her in the UK.

To finish I used the Simon says Stamp Grassy Edges die and their Bold Thanks die which I cut twice to help it stand out a bit better from the trees.

Freshly Gnome

I checked my drafts and found a few scrapbooking posts but only this little Gnome card that I made using an old Freshly made sketch.

This time I used the Lil Gnome die from Simon says Stamp and the sentiment is theirs too from the Inside Christmas Greetings stamps.

Papers were an odd sheet of old Doodlebug ones.

I managed to deleted all my bookmarks, I know some were really old and didn't work anymore. One day I would get round to tidying them up but the plan wasn't to delete the lot.

The Hen - Party

I've really struggled this year with my Scrapbooking and feel I may have lost my way somehow. I fee I could have done better but at least I've recorded the event and the way I feel.

Simon says Stamp United We Craft Blog Party

Simon says Stamp are have a blog party you just have pop over to their blog here and check on the list for inspiration. Just maybe realise we are not alone, we are in this together all over the world. We are using our favourite current Simon say Stamp stamps etc.

Having to chose a favourite was very hard but I do love my Stitched Daisies if I could they would be on every card and I love using them for Scrapbooking too.

Instead of using them separately like I usually do I added them together to make a large daisy. I may have been a bit heavy handed with the inking the edges!

I then decided to use the Leaves and Berries background stamp because I reckon you can use it all the year round and not just for Christmas but now I'm linking it I discovered its now out of stock so I quickly made another this time using the background stamp  Quilted Hearts.

Here's how it looks with the Leaves and Berries background stamp.

Rather than throw away the leftovers I smooched some watercolour card with Oxides and backed the card. Making sure you glue down the thin gap between the petals. Some sequins and a sentiment which works for you.
If you are instagram just add the hashtag #SSSUnitedWeCraft to join in.

April

Its a Spring Challenge on Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge and I've used April. Mainly because I decided I would paper piece the watering can but then I went OTT and did her scarf and wellies.

The card was based on few weeks Sketch Saturday, I have turned the sketch and didn't tear the paper and I've added the MFT fence to give a finished edge at the Doodlebug papers join.

I framed the image using Simon says Stamp Stamp Stitched Rectangles and the Clouds are Memory Box ones.

Twigs and Leaves

I've been inspired from pictures on Instagram and Pinterest and I loved a particular card with twigs and leaves and a whole line of birds.

This is my take on it using my supplies. The leaves and twigs are both really old dies as well as the bird. To be honest I'm not sure if I ever used the bird die.

The sentiment is Simon says Stamp Thoughtful Messages and the gold foil paper was floating on my desk. I think it came out of Card Kit box but if I'm honest I haven't a clue. The rustic twine is a bit of natural string that was round some flowers, I separated the strands to use just one to give a more delicate look.

Somebunny Love You

Rather than do the alphabet for my Mo's card Thursday I may have to use new images for March, I have at least three new ones to me just have to find another one. It may not be new to the shop but new to me, even though I have been so lucky to be on Mo's Dream Team I still don't have all the images.

So today I'm using the adorable Somebunny Loves You and yes the mixture of fun flock and flowersoft as been dusted off from Christmas to make a fluffy ears and slippers.

I think the papers are Echo Park Hello Baby It's a Boy paper pack love this set more than the girl one. The sentiement is an old LOTV one and the flowers are a random set of dies with out a name. Finally finished with a couple of corner diecuts from La LaLand.
