A Gem called Jodie

Oh I do think this little darling is so cute, she is Janet's new digi from Pink Gem Designs called Jodie and she as a brother called Josh too.
We've a fabulous sketch this week on Gem of a Challenge from Christine and I used Echo Park Summer Days with its lovely bright colours.
I've used a Marianne doily die behind the circle mats which I embossed with a daisy cuttlebug folder and finish with the Cherish border and ribbon.
Do check out the rest of the team wonderful inspiration and we would love for you to join in.

Milestones

This week at Penny Black Saturday Challenge the  Challenge is Milestones! So we want to see you create something celebrating a big Birthday, Passing a Driving Test etc ...
Since a certain member of the team reach a big Birthday thats was my inspiration for the my card. I wanted to use this fab pattern paper from My Minds Eye there laid my problem it was darker than I thought and I couldn't cut into it or cover it up. The rest of the papers had a touch of orange in it so I coloured my Hedgie up to that colour now I'm not so sure I like it. Worst of all it looks better in real life.
So check out the team they've done a much better job than me and I will have to have a rethink of the card I'm going to send.
I spent most of yesterday glue to the Telly wasn't it fascinating and so beautiful a real fairytale wedding.

Happiness is a Butterfly

When I read the challenge on Less is More this butterfly stamp immediately came to mind, just needed time to make it. Then when I did I had problems with new wet pad and the fact that the Inkadinkadoo stamp was clear.
Eventually I tried Versamark inkpad on the stamp and then used the coloured inkpad it helped but I didn't get the even coverage I would of like but now I was wondering if I was just being fussy. There was no way I could leave the butterflies just flat so I picked three to layer but I did take the the gems off!
The words I've had for ages possibly one of the first unmounted ones I ever got.
The card is straight and so are the words its the photographer who is having problems!
So today I will keep checking the telly to watch Kate and Wills get married and I wish them many happy years together.

cherry blossom

This started as an experiment, I wanted to see what a panel would look using my Cherry Blossom border punch from Martha Stewart. I didn't like the stars being gaps so using the cropadile I use the waste to stick behind each flower, now I like it.
I also used some deckle scissors to chop of the tips of the retro flower so they look similar to cherry blossom. The sketch is from Sketch Saturday but used a frame for one of the mats cos I couldn't find another piece of Basic Grey that pleased me.

WOYWW and Scrapbooking Wednesday

So this week on WOYWW, I'm hiding my card cos its for a DT although you can probably work out that I'm using Prima's Madeline.
My desk isn't very busy today someone had a really good day yesterday after a week of sinus problems but then promptly over did it, you would of thought by now I would have worked out that even on good days I should pace myself.
So onto some Scrapbooking, phew I've only two pages to do on Vegas before going onto LA but we don't have so many photos for that part of the Holiday.
This was taken at Planet Hollywood in Ceasars Palace and the only photo of us all together. It was also the quickest layout I've done for ages.
I wish now I backed the letters in red but they're well and truly stuck.
This what I made at Scrapbuddies crop, I had the idea but had to work out how to make.
I think its what you call a flap book.

The two pics on the last page was from google since I was short of a couple pics. Do you see my daisy die, loving it at the moment.

The clouds are another stamp available at Simon Says Stamps, its made by Hero Arts. I made the sun using the MFT banner die by cutting off the rectangle bit at the top and the middle is just a circle punch.
One tip though if you use sandpaper for the beach it blunts your scissors so don't use your best ones.

From here you need to hop on over to Melissa

Sweet Sketch Wednesday on Tuesday

So whose confused what day of the week it is, I've been doing this since Good Friday and now I realise that tomorrow is Wednesday and there will be a new Sweet Sketch Wednesday and then this card will be late.
You kind of lost one of the circles in the sketch hidden behind the border that sort of grew with the doily border.
I love my new daisy sizzix die, I've been using over the weekend mainly for Scrapbooking but the smaller ones work on cards too. My stamp I brought at Ally Pally at the Bildmalarna stall, they had loads of cute ones but I just brought a couple.
The papers are Prima Madeline possibly my favourite prima papers.
Still having issues with light bulbs, my lamp in the living room which I need on to colour images in front of the telly, well the bulb blew, of course its not your standard one, oh no its a special trip to a DIY place.

Fairies

The theme this week for Everybody Art Challenge is Fairies and I couldn't stop myself from using this gorgeous fairy from Lily of the Valley.
The papers are Prima and yes thats the deep edge doily punch again too. Various shaped butterfly punches, a bit of ribbon and some sparkle for her wings.
Quite a simple card but I didn't want to over power the image.
Don't forget to pop over to check out the team and we would love for you to join us.
Well the UK heatwave is about to leave maybe the issue I'm having with my sinus the last week will go with it.

Pretty in Peach

Woo Hoo I'm back in my craftroom, the lights been fixed but I had to have a real tidy cos the light showed up more broken glass so it took a while before I could actually play.
So I decided to use the sketch on Just Magnolia and use this cute Tilda. The papers are First Edition but I'm  not sure on the colours but grungy. I'm sorry I couldn't stop myself from using the deep edge doily punch again and the flowers are from Wild Orchid.
I've hubby underfoot today so won't be getting much crafting done today.

Easter

I always send my MIL an Easter card but feel the cute bunnies are not appropriate for her, this year with a printer ink that doesn't smudge I source some Easter crosses. I found two one from Karen Doodles and one from Just Inked which is the one I've used.
I've used Sketch and Stash challenge but I have turned it and the papers are those pretty First Edition Hideway.
Wish now I put a gem inside the flowers instead of some glamour dust but bit difficult when its over two hundred miles away.
I hope everyone is having a lovely Easter, those in the UK hope you missed the thunderstorms I know we did. I'm still dosing myself with anti histamine pills etc which is very odd cos I don't get hayfever!

Happily Ever After

So who kept thinking it was Saturday yesterday not helped by DD being home in the morning, I very nearly posted this and wanting to check out the Saturday challenges. Luckily I managed to stop myself and waited till today to post my Penny Black Saturday Challenge card for the Happily Ever After, we want to see your romantic cards this week to celebrate a certain Royal Wedding next week.
I love this sweet couple from Penny Black its one of their older stamps that I managed to get from PB stamps well worth getting hit at customs, although I don't mind the VAT so much but the awful price the PO charge to collect it.
Anyway back to my card, the pink papers are from Echo Park My Girl, I think the lace may be from Wild Orchid but don't hold me to that and I used a WOJ sentiment and finished with ribbon and pearls. You can't really dress the card up too much cos the image is so large.
Do pop over and check out the team and there's a prize this week from Fantastic Ribbons.

ACETATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I knew I shouldn't of looked at the Less of More challenge ACETATE what were they thinking. So I had an idea of an acetate panel and one of the reasons I brought the cuttlebug was a demo that I saw embossing acetate.
I used the daisy folder which in hindsight was a bit tiny especially to photo which is way I added a close up pic.
Then I dotted the dots and the flower centres with a glaze pen. I did decorate inside but it wasn't what I called Less is More so this card 2 really.
The daisy is a sixxiz die which MJ had at her crop and when I tried to buy it I found it retired only to discover its in the Stampin Up mini book with a BFF whose a stampin up demo I had no probs buying one. Along with the decorative label punch and matching stamps, did managed to get one of the Woodware sentiments inside it.
Whoops do I spy a touch of ribbon!
Of course in RL it looks much better, you really see how well the acetate is embossed even my DD was impressed.

Bunny Couple

My card today is using the sketch on Allsorts challenge but since they're bunnies do you think I could enter it into the Lily of Valley Easter challenge.
I rediscovered these My Minds Eye papers hiding away when I was looking for something else, they need using up and I've quite a bit especially ones that I thought were too nice to cut!
Someone has to stop me using the deep edge doily punch cos I can't and just has difficult to stop is the retro flowers from EK success.
The sentiment is Woodware stamp and the cut corners are Quckutz, not forgetting the cute image is from Lily of Valley.

I forgot to load this yesterday and I especially wanted my Sis to see it.

WOYWW and Wednesday Scrapbooking

So this WOYWW is back in the dining room. It's reasonable tidy since I slowly taking the things I need as I go along. Not helped with a sinus headache which has more to do with hayfever and taking pills just make me want to sleep all the time. So Mr Mojo has taken himself off for the Easter weekend early.
Now for the most boring photo ever, the new light tube. Hubby is having an extremely busy week and at this point I have no idea when it will be fitted.
How about some more Vegas Scrapbooking.

We had no idea who this magician was although he is quite well know in the US but it was a brilliant show. The rabbit and doves are part of his show which I added to the front cover of the Souvenir book.

Little Eden

We have a great challenge this week over on Simon Says Stamps Challenge its for Embossing now I would presume this is heat embossing or dry. As you can see I went dry embossing using the Cuttlebug and my all time favourite Swiss Dots.

I've used the cute Belles'n'Whistles  Little Eden but Simon Says Stamps have the latest release from them too. Love the Basic Grey Hopscotch I will be so sad when it all goes, but not only will I be able to buy it from Simon Says Stamps they have the two new packs Laudadale and Sweet Threads. I've used my nestabilities and Martha Stewart Cherish punch to finish.

Do pop over to the Simon Says Stamps Challenge to check out the amazing creations the team have made and don't forget the fabulous prize for a lucky winner.
We've also got a Children's challenge so if your little ones are telling you they're bored how about getting them to make a card for our challenge.

Bunnies, Bears and Balloons

Bunnies, Bears and Balloon but not necessarily on the one card, thats the challenge over on High Hopes Challenge. I've choosen this cute bear out of the new High Hopes releases and I think he could work for both sexes.
I've used Echo Park My Boy, I noticed I'm trying hard not to use the boats and cards but I'm going to be left with them if I don't use them and will have to buy another pack!
I love the High Hopes Birthday sentiment too, I left it on my desk so its permanently handy.
Don't forget to pop over and see all the wonderful creations made by the Diva's.
