Framed Card for Papertake Weekly

Its Papertake Weekly 3rd Birthday this week so the challenge is to choose your favourite challenge. The Frame Card Tutorial challenge from Claudia in March 2008 has to be my favourite I've used it so many times.
I was going to put pattern paper on the outside of the recess but when I laid the Magnolia pair on top I couldn't do it cos I liked it with out, with just a few MS snowflakes.
I wish I brought the scene image down a bit farther so the top of the trees aren't hidden and have less of the frozen pond but I stuck it down with strong tape.
Now I've checked the challenge blog and although the writing is there is no pic so I photo as I went along. I like to add this is not my idea but Claudia this is simply how I do it.

First of all I cut out two squares with this card the measurement are 10cm and 9cm but you can change the size if you wish. I then use a ruler to draw a lines across the squares and I also did the same inside the square card. Hopefully you can just about see in the photo.

I then lay the largest square on top of the lines of the card and match then up and draw round the square.
Do this with the smaller square too.  Using an embossing tool and a ruler emboss both the squares you've draw. Then cut the cross only up to the largest square draw.

Once cut you need to fold back the each flap twice.

Fold the smaller flap back on it self so it looks like the above photo.

This is how the outside of the card should look like.

Cut out a square of the size of the largest square to put inside the recess . I also cut a slightly larger square for the inside of the card.
I use the larger square template also for cutting paper for the front. Like the card below. It also how I made the card for Simon Says Stamps Challenge on Wednesday.
