balloons

I made a huge decision last week I've retired from my Design Teams. It was really difficult to make especially as I've been with them for many years but I feel a weight as been lifted off me.

So this week I've had a bit of card making holiday but I did make this card a few weeks ago for my brothers birthday.

I used a combination of Simon says Stamp Wonky Rectangle and Stitched Rectangles. The balloons are old Penny Black dies and the sentiment is a Simon says Stamp one.

I have been doing crafty things if you include making masks from this site I found on Pinterest. Initially I used a paper clip for over the nose and then read somewhere that pipe cleaners work which I had some black one obviously for spider making!

  1. Oh Debby that comes as a surprise, they will miss you and your great contributions but I hope we will still get to see your lovely creations on your blog!
Take care, stay healthy (you're well prepared I see 😉!).

  2. What a lovely card, great composition. I understand why you have stepped down. I don’t enter challenges and haven’t been on any challenge DTs for ages. I used to enjoy the magazine work but all of these things do mean set timescales and I prefer to make what I want when I want which I can do with the two DTs I am on as it just means promoting their products. Stay well x

  3. This is lovely l like to see balloons on cards and sure your brother adored it - l think at times working as a Dt can become so tiring enjoyable but there does come a time when you feel like retiring from it - your mask is a well deserved item at this present time stay safe x

  4. They be sorry to lose you, but I understand I used to teach crafts and it's very hard to keep discipline and set yourself projects that you enjoy and hopefully everyone does and you get the pitch right.
Please don't give up the blog. We enjoy so much😀

  5. This is a great card made for your brothers birthday, and love the combination of colours and the wonky stitches rectangle with the angled mats and the balloons and large die cut sentiment look perfect here. I have followed you for many years now and you have belonged to quite a few DTs over the years, but there comes a time when the routine of it all can become a heavy weight. They will miss you tremendously I'm sure, but it will give you more freedom to do different things and hopefully you will still keep your blog going as we would all miss coming to visit. I have always loved your cards and look forward to seeing more from you in the future Debby. x

  6. I Love your design and card Debby, a great masculine card. I loved seeing your DT creations and I'm sure they will miss you after your years of being with them. BUT, sometimes we have to remove some weight from our shoulders and looks like it has done it for you. Enjoy your creativity.
    Keep safe and well
    Faith x

  7. Hi Debby, that was a huge decision for you, but obviously the right one as you already feel a weight lifted. I am sure your teams will miss your creativity, but now you can make what you like when you like.
I love your card, beautifully created.
    Super mask, Kate x

  8. I am sure you will be missed Debby, but I know how you feel. I left my last DT as I didn't always like the images we had to use. I then found it difficult, so left the end of last year. Now I make what I want and when I want!! As I have lost 3 friends with the virus lately, I couldn't have made to order, struggling with anything at the moment.
Your card is amazing and love the simple , but perfect design. Gorgeous. Keep well and safe. Hugs, Carol S.xx

  9. Your card is wonderful. I love the CAS design. Your mask looks terrific, too. I've made some, as well, but didn't think about using a pipe cleaner for over the nose. Great idea! I'll definitely give that a try.

  11. Oh Debby, you will be missed by your DT's for sure! But life can take us in different directions at times. I hope we'll still see you around blogland. Your creations are always so beautiful and I'm such a fan of your paper tole layering. It is always that little bit of magic in your designs. Enjoy the quieter pace not having to prepare for design teams and enjoy crafting again 'just for fun'. Thank you for all the years of sensational inspiration. You truly are, one of my favourite crafters! Hugs, Wends xoxo
