When I saw we were showcasing Art Impressions for this weeks Simon says Stamp Wednesday Challenge I knew I had a few stamps already but hey when there's an excuse to buy another. I decided to buy the fishing clear stamp set called Reel Great Guys.

The image itself is quite large and I used the Simon says Stamp Stitched Rectangles for around the image. The patterned paper I've used is Echo Park Perfect Autumn and I used the Simon says Stamp Stitched Banners to make the collection of tags under the image. I didn't use the whole banner just a bit at the fishtail end.

Here's the crooked front image of my card.

Snowman

I love how this card turned out and it was mainly made with bits left over from other cards. I made a batch of the Simon Says Stamp Believe stamp and die, along with the Poinsettia Parade.

I only had to cut out Simon says Stamp Pine Needles die  to finish the spray. The Simon says Stamp Picture Book Snowman was already made, you have to try a new die out even if you don't use it to begin with.

I think for this years cards I will be making a few like this especially as I make my own cards and have to cut off a strip to make a square card, all the dies work with the leftovers.

Welcome Baby

I do love a stamp set that can be used all the year round and this is especially true with the Simon Says Stamp Christmas Toys stamp set.

I stamped some of the toys and coloured them in with my Polychromos pencils and carefully fussy cut them leaving a bit of a white border. Why I don't buy the dies and be done with it but there's always something else I want instead.

The sentiment comes from My Favourite Things Welcome Baby stamp set, the dotty paper I thought was Doodlebug but I can't work out which set and its possible it might be Echo Park. It's not vitally important any as long as its blue.

Hug a Penquin

Although I’m still scrapbooking 2015 this is the first layout I’ve made this year. The papers are Kaiser and the penguins are A Mama Elephant Stamp I got for Christmas. The snowflakes are Simon says Stamp dies.

I almost made another layout at last months crop but just need some finishing touches but I’m hoping to ha e time to do that today.

I even managed a couple of cards yesterday so things are looking up at last.

In the Jungle

I was lucky to receive a die from the new LOVE release from Simon Says Stamp unfortunately my mojo/imagination was missing since I was suffering from side effects from the new pain meds. All I could think of was Lego obviously been brainwashed by nephew who loves the stuff. I doubled layered the circles to make a Lego block but had no idea what to do with it.

But I did use it for the Picture Book animal dies from Simon Says Stamps, here I've used the Monkey, Zebra and Elephant. I would use the Giraffe but its the most popular die and keeps selling out before I have the chance to buy it. The Cat and Hippo are on the way across the Atlantic, brought the cat especially for his tail and plan to use it with the monkey die.

To make my leaf background I used the Simon Says Stamp Leaves Background and blended a bit of green ink in between the leaves. Once dry I then cut out the circles by using the new Repeating Circles. I made the leaves out of the Circle of Leaves  with some green card and had them poking through 3 of the circles. Finished off with a Birthday Message sentiment.

Shawls

I finally finished my Lost in Time Shawl, it been unpicked so many times its almost a relief to finish it. First time I made tassels and was impressed with myself. Here's the link to the fabulous pattern.

I got another ball of Scheepjes Whirl for Christmas and I used another Johanna Lindahl pattern called Secret Paths. I think this pattern was easier than the Lost in Time.

I'm actually making another Lost in Time shawl but this time I'm using DK and its kept me occupied while suffering from the pain meds side effects. Thankfully the pills to help are working and I can get back to sorting out my long list of craftiness.

Layer it Up

wed-newchallenge-header

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge
Thank you for joining us for the Add A sentiment Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too.

This week the challenge is

Layer It Up

We are showcasing Concord &9th  Products this week. You don't have to use them to join in but if you have them we would love to see them used.

I didn't realise that the flowers on Concord and 9th You are Here stamp set  actually made a heart shape. I brought it because I thought the flowers were ideal for 3d layering.

I first layered up my flowers, I had to cut and layer the leaves first then flower by flower with so many parts it's easy to muddle them up. Then I had to decide how to make an actual card, I was inspired by the Splitcoast Stampers  sketch SC679 but used the leaves from the Simon Says Stamp Circle of Leaves.

I placed the leaves under the top and below the panels but in hindsight it would have been easier to use a bit of acetate. I used foam tape to lift the panels from the main card to help see the leaves.

I used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Banners with their Birthday messages.

Rudolph

I still have some Christmas cards in my drafts to post, this one of them using the Simon Says Stamp
Picture Box Deer Die and using the same layout as the cards I made a couple of years ago, I also used it last year for the Picture Book Santa die.

I think the papers are Merry and Bright from MFT for the card above and Pink and Main Frosty paper for the card below. I've used Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circle die for the circle frames and the Stitched Rectangles for the main mat.

My Snowflakes are Simon Says Stamp Stitched Snowflakes and their Snowflake Border die. The sentiment is Simon Says Stamp Holiday Strip Messages and the snowflake centres are Doodlebug Glitter Sprinkles.

Thanks

Apologies for the bad grammar in my journaling it was never my strong point at school. One of the few photos I have of my Mum and Dad in their latter years. In fact if you read the journaling it was one my brother had on his phone.

The papers are again some old Piggy Tales who are no longer trading. Flowers are Simon says Stamp and the stars are MFT, the leaf swirl could be MFT too but don’t hold me to that.

The blue letters are American Craft foam one and the orange letters are Simon says Stamp.

Things are not going to plan in the craft room the new pain meds are causing some nasty side effects and I’m now on meds to stop them, let’s hope it worth it in the end. So at the moment I’m taking each day as it comes.

Baby Boy

Sorry late this morning with my Mo Manning card, having issues with some new pain meds. I'm remedying my lack of baby cards.

I've used Baby Boy on Blankie and I'm using some Doodlebug papers which I'm not a hundred per cent about. Like the clouds but not sure the blue anchor hearts work but DD loves it so I shall put an insert in ready for her.

The embossed Hearts are Taylored Expression slightly larger than the retired Cuttlebug one but it also longer in length so better for my size cards. The border is a Spellbinders die and the hearts is a Penny Black die. Lastly the sentiment is Paper Smooches die cut in white a couple of times and then the coloured one.

My first photo is jaunty angle one and this one is my front view taken by the crooked photography. Its actually 0.5 out and none of the photo editing I have can cope with such a small slope. I would like to add that the card is actually straight.

Blue Birds

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge
Thank you for joining us for the Patterned Paper Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too.
This week the challenge is

Add A Sentiment

We are showcasing Clearly Besotted Products this week. You don't have to use them to join in but if you have them we would love to see them used.

I love these cute Clearly Besotted You're So Tweet birds, I even brought them before I knew about the challenge.

First of I had to make a card for them, so first used Oxides where i made my grass, sky and sun background. I then cut out the Simon Say Stamp Birch Column twice, one I put to one side while the other was smooched into some Brown Oxides stamped onto a craft mat and misted with a bit of water. I then blended a bit of the lighter brown to cover up all bits of white left. Added a bit of green using a copic and fussy cut the trees away so I could stick them onto the one put to one side.

Once the background was stick behind the trees I then used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles die. It did struggle with so many layers but a little trim with a sharp pair of scissors did the trick.

It was at this point things started to go wrong, I was in two minds which blue inkpad to use and went with the Island Blue because I thought it would show up more. It was at this point I got out the the You're So Tweet die set and using some wire gutters I cut the spokes when one went flying into what I thought was my junk draw ( it isn't now I had to tidy it up) but it has disappeared somewhere in my craft room.

It was once I stuck the birds down that I'm now wondering whether I should have stamped them in turquoise and now I've just noticed that I haven't coloured their beaks. I blame me age!!!!!!!

Winners

That’s it I’ve decided all my cards and layouts will be photographed at an artistic angle rather then try and photograph straight. I even got a ruler out to double check my layout.

The papers are really old, Piggy Tales. The only reason for not being used they were to nice! I borrowed the football die and the stars are My Favourite Things. The letters and stickers all out my stash.

I only managed 1 and bit layouts at the last crop but I need to photo the one that I completely finished. I’m all booked in for The Scrap Cafe Retreat in March, you pay for your accommodation separately so you either choose the actual hotel, another hotel or not stay at all, some of the scrapbookers are local so they go home also apart from Friday night you sort out your food. With a decent size Sainsburys next door to the hotel no one starves.

A bit of Pink

This wa a practise card to try and work out which circle punches or dies fit in the centres of the flowers. The flower die is to replace a punch I love but my hands struggle with. Unfortunately there was no name on the packet or the die and the seller doesn’t seem to sell it anymore.

So while sorting out the centres I wasn’t going to waste the flowers I made and made a quick card. The sentiment which is Simon says Stamp.

Well it’s been a busy and times boring week, I have had some deeper injections in my shoulders and was told to take it easy, I hate not doing anything drives Hubby potty or should I say I drive him so.

Hope to get into the craft room today to do some DT work but they’re changing my pain pills on Monday so next week could be interesting.

Jessie

My pile of finished cards is lacking baby cards so I printed off several baby images from Mo Manning to resolve this problem.

The first card I made was using Jessie isn't she cute. The papers are some old one and the embossing folder is my hardworking Cuttlebug Tiny Hearts one which isn't available anymore.

The Heart Bow is from Penny Black and the flowers are a die which I can't find the make sorry but the centres are MFT from one of their flower set. I even dusted of my decorative circle die from Spellbinders. The sentiment is from Simon Say Stamp.

It turned out not bad although once made I realised I need a couple of baby boy cards, oops.

Patterned Paper

wed-newchallenge-header

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge
Thank you for joining us for the Something New Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too.
This week the challenge is

Use Patterned Paper

You may use store bought designer paper or you may choose to make your own.

We are showcasing Doodlebug Products this week. You don't have to use them to join in but if you have them we would love to see them used.

I love Doodlebug papers their 6 inch pads work so well for card making and when I saw this challenge I knew I had to use their At the Zoo ones.  They work so well with the Picture Book animals from Simon Says Stamp. I haven't make a card since Christmas so I needed a sketch to inspire me and found the perfect one from Splitcoast Stampers SC 678 which is the last week one.

I've used the Koala, Panda and Monkey dies, to help support the cut pieces I place a piece of card like a spine on the back. I did feel my monkey needs a tail but while finding the links I saw the cat die not sure I've actually got that die but if not I will have to get it and it will serve for the tail for two. animals.

To finish I used the My Favourite Things Grassy Fields die, I've been know to use this die and turn it upside down to make icicles so I believe this is a must have die.

The sentiment came from the paper pad, cut it out and used a square punch to make a fishtail.

New Year

Funny that we've been away for New Year recently and the last crop I went to was to record 2015 celebrations. I probably need to write some journaling this was the New Year my sister took with her a whole Boots counter.

I used some very old rub ons which made me realise the best place for them was in the bin.

For Brian

I found this card in my drafts in fact when I search for drafts, I found quite a few photo posts with cards. This is an Art Impression and was made for my Brother in law, who plays golf.

There was a lot of layering and the papers are some old Echo Park that needed using up. The grass and fence are both from MFT and I used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Squares.

The sentiment is the one off my desk that as seen better days. I used a Stampin Up banner punch for the fish tail banner, I believe Stampin Up in their wisdom have retired it but I used it constantly for the making these banner.

I need to give myself a bit of kick up the bum to schedule my post more often and make cards.

Birthday Boy

I needed a boy Birthday card and I thought this image from Mo Manning Paul Texting would be perfect.

The papers are some old ones and I added some more orange stars to decorate, there wasn't more I could do since its a boy card. The image mat and sentiment are cut using MFT dies.

I've been away to celebrate the New Year, BIL chose Paignton this time but it still meant getting past Stonehedge, next year I believe we may take a new direction.

No card making as been made but I am off to a crop on Saturday.

Tigers

wed-newchallenge-header

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge
Thank you for joining us for the Anything Goes Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too.

Happy New Year!! We hope you all have a happy and healthy 2018!
This week the challenge is

Something New

Maybe you received some new craft supplies for Christmas, or maybe you would like to make a New Home, New Baby project. Whatever 'new' thing you would like to make we will be looking forward to seeing your project!
We are showcasing Hero Arts  Products this week. You don't have to use them to join in but if you have them we would love to see them used.

Hope I can remember what I used for this card I made it before Christmas with my DT parcel of new goodies. I decided to get the Hero Art Layering Bengal Tigers, I thought they would make a good male card. I believe there is a die but I just brought the stamps since the tigers looked easy to fussy cut out.

As most of you know I'm pretty lazy and it just so happens that I had some thin cardstock that I had already smooched some Distress Oxides in Wild Honey, Spiced and Fossilized Amber. So I used the stamps to stamp the tigers. Once cut out I used the Distress Markers in Pumice Stone round the edges I find it hides the white core.

It was then I had to think of what to do with my tigers so once again I got the Distress Oxides out and made the scene and using the grass stamps that came with the tigers I stamped some grass.

To finish I used the Simon Says Stamp Painted Happy Birthday die but just choose the one word and stamp the Happy  using Simon Says Stamp Happy stamp set.
