When

This is the layout that I won a challenge with at the Scrapbook Retreat at the weekend. The challenge was why do you scrapbook.

At the weekend I was scrapbooking the photos of my Mum and Dad renewing their vows in 2014. I realised while doing them that they both passed away within a year and all I have left of them is memories and photographs. I didn't add memories to the title because I thought it was too long and this beautiful photo of my mum.

The hearts are Simon Says Stamps Stacked Hearts there's possibly four or five on the layout and they may have had bits cut so I could place them down the side of the photo.
I cut two more using the Simple Stories Carpe Diem one in the pink dotty paper and one in the aqua green dotty paper. I didn't have to cut out any more just using a few hearts in some of the heart spaces.

The large Daisies or Asters are from Memory Box and the leaves and swirl down maybe Cheery Lynn. The butterflies an old punch I have, I punch two for each butterfly one to fully stick down on the page and one I emboss the back of, put a tiny bit of tape in the centre and cut up sticky fixers on each wing. This give the buttterfly dimension.

After adding the hearts I realised it needed something round the whole layout and paper pricked the edge.

I showed my daughter when I came home and she was annoyed with me because I made her cry.

  4. What a beautiful scrap page remembering your mummy Debby. That is such a lovely way to capture those memories. I really need to make an album to remember my papa. So many beautiful memories held in the heart, it's nice to see them like this, on paper, stored and recorded. Love the hearts and your pierced edge is a fab finish. Hugs, Wends x

  6. What a lovely layout and memory.

'When all you have left are photographs' - sometimes you don't even have those though. When my mother died a number of years ago my father destroyed all her pictures, together with those of my sister and I from the early years with her. I still try to remember these. We never did get to ask him why.
